I got this at more than half price but I’ll review for full price. No shaver is worth the full price but for 259 this gets a five star across the board, at full price it gets 2 stars on Value for Money.

This is surely the Emperor of shavers. Even compared to the original series 9, which I have had for some years, this is amazing. One tiny reservation – it seems to go through an awful lot of cleaning fluid, but perhaps I need more than 3 weeks to make a fair assessment.

I recently shaved off my beard and decided to treat myself to a new shaver. In the past I’ve always used Panasonic shavers, but the latest Braun Series 9 Pro+ is absolutely superb. It’s also very expensive, but if you can afford it, it will leave your skin feeling as soft as a baby’s bum whilst giving you a close and comfortable shave.

Long term user of Philips rotating razor but I wasn’t getting the close shave I need. Bought the higher end model to get the closest shave. The rocking head has a button to lock it, but it’s not “locked”, and so moves and I have to stick my thumb under it. Maybe it needs a two position switch with one locking the head. Otherwise happy, though I’ve only had it a few weeks. Got the deal with the cleaning station and it was a great deal.

The shaver itself met all claims and my expectations. I would have given it 5 stars if the charging cable had a UK shaver plug on the end. The one supplied works fine in European sockets but not in UK sockets. Luckily I had an adapte

It’s quite rare a product exceeds my expectation but this did. Having seen many video reviews I knew it was good but I didnt realise quite how good. I have very sensitive skin and would avoid razor shaving because of this. This shaver cuts as close as a razor for me and doesn’t irritate my skin at all. Also I love the fact I can use shaving cream. I also shave my head with it. It does miss a few wierd hairs on my neck that must grow at some strange angle but I can forgive it for that
The cleaning unit was also very important to me, just press a button and I leave it to clean itself.

I have used this with both my shavers I currently alternate between : a Series 7 shaver (purchased July 2016) and my Series 9 (also purchased in July 2016, when the old Series 7 failed), so I have used these refills for 7 years now and they keep you razor head in top condition, in fact I have only replace a razor head once, which is well below what Braun recommend but they heads still cut perfectly, and yes I DO have spare heads already purchased should I need to change them, so it isn’t a matter of the money.

Some people just use the brush a few time then use the cleaner on the 3rd or 4th time, but I brush the excess off the head and shaver first, then I use the cleaner after EVERY shave, this way the cartridges will last longer too.

    Conclusion :
I have used Braun shavers for many, many years now and using the “Clean and Renew” system is far better than just brushing and washing under the tap as I did before I got the Series 7 and 9, and I was at that time having to renew the head every year as well, which was expensive (heads are going up in price all the time by the way !) it is MUCH cheaper to use the ‘Clean and Renew’ system in the long run.

I can’t recommend this system, enough and it gets 5 stars all day long from me.

Being very dissatisfied with my previous razor, I decided to splash out on an expensive and different manufacturer. Wow. Glad I did! Best shave ever in all my 70 plus years. I can sincerely recommend this razor at its full price but try to get it half price as I did.

These fit into the shaver base unit and do a good job of keeping the shaver clean and smelling new. They are easy to fit and remove.

My only gripe is that the cleaning cartridge that came with the shaver lasted longer than these replacement cartridges, so I have docked a star from the overall rating. They are just as effective at cleaning though.

It is that time of year again to buy another supply of the shaving head cleaning fluid cartridges. I have just replaced my cleaning unit with the last one from my box of 6 from last year.

Although these Braun cartridges are supposed to last one month I have found they last me almost two months.

They are well designed and the fluid cleans the shaving head unit extremely well.

Have been using these for about 3 years with my Brian shaver. Cleaning the shaver using a brush gets rid of most of the hair nut after 2 or 3 shaves and cleans I put it in the auto cleaner which brings the head back to almost a brand new look. I cartridge will last about 6 weeks and I but these when they are on offer works out about 3.50 a cartridge but I believe its worth it I have had my shaver for about 3 years and still working perfectly. I replaced the head a year ago but to be honest couldn’t tell much difference so seems to work for me.

Electric razors can never match a wet blade. With that in mind, the Braun Series 9 Pro will keep your skin smooth enough for 8-9 hours. In my opinion you’ll need a conventional blade to trim your sideburns. It takes me 10-12 minutes to have a shave and clean the bristles out of the razor. I remove the shaver head, shake it and then blow through it. Before replacing the head I use the brush to clean the top of the razor (don’t use a brush on the metal shaver head).

The 9 PRO is well made, although some plastics feel a bit cheap. Replacement shaver heads are expensive and should last for 18 months.

Don’t forget to buy an adaptor for the 2-pin plug that’s on the charging cable. I can recommend the Lencent adaptor that accepts types A, C and E/F 2-pin plugs.

    Braun Series 9 Pro: 8/10
Value for money (razor only): 7/10

I upgraded from my new series 7 razor and to be honest regret it. They both perform really well but the 7 series looked much more sleek and modern. Also the smartcare centre for the 7 is far superior as the foils are suspended in mid air where the 9 series foils are in contact with the plastic station.
The 9 pro looks and feels very dated with its plastic silver power button and thumb rest. They have fixed the aesthetics with the even newer 9 pro+ by replacing the silver plastic with black rubber and adding a gold plated side trimmer but thats an extra 200!!!!
The 9 pro only came out 2 years ago and they really should have given it a more modern look then.
All that aside it performs exeptionaly well but then so did the much cheaper 7 series!!!
It’s also dissapointing to think you’ve splashed out all that money for the latest and greatest only to find out there’s a newer version 🙁

The travel case was not leather and the zip was broken on it because it was a birthday present I was unable to return it Although the shaver is very good the overall presentation was very disappointing

I invested in a really good Braun shaver and want to make sure it is kept in the best condition. This means regular cleaning and charging. As I bought a shaver with the cleaning charger included, I wanted to continue using the cartridges they supplied. So buying these was a no-brainer.

The perfume used is lovely and fresh – lemon – and every time the shaver is cleaned and charged, it always smells so fresh and it lovely and clean too.

The price I paid was really good too – so happy all round.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersBeing a huge fan of wet shaving with a DE razor I have never considered an electric razor before.
I decided to look at an electric razor to use on days when I’m in a rush and I need a quick shave, all reviews I looked at pointed me in the direction of the Braun S9 Pro.
Best purchase I have ever made, I cant believe how close a shave I get with this, never in a million years did I think that an electric razor could be so good.
Cant recommend this enough, it is amazing and I won’t be giving it up any time soo

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersI was wondering why I wanted to spend this kind of cash on one of these but must say after 2 months of use, im glad I have. You come to expect this kind of quality from German engineering. Yes, it’s expensive. But believe me when I say, this thing is complex, but it provides a close and risk free shave.

The item oozes quality with the feel and rigidity of it. There are two settings for the rotor, either you can set it to click into different positions by manually adjusting it, or to be supple and move flexibly. I prefer the flex option as I use this on my scalp.

The battery life is amazing. I work away and dont even use the first bar before I return home for the weekend.

The docking station is bulky, and it isn’t fit for moving really, especially with the fluid installed as it has to be kept on a flat surface to avoid spillage. If you work away just slot it into the Dock when you return.

The docking station really is good. It works a treat to clean the razor and head without any fuss. I believe the fluid is to be changed every so often but is relatively cheap for the cartridge. It comes with a leather case, which is nice and slick.

If you spend money at the barbers every week like I did then don’t bother any more. Do yourself a favour and buy this thing. It will pay you back. So far I’ve saved 160 quid on the barbers, meaning this thing will have paid for itself soon.

Golden Review Award: 7 From Our UsersAfter doing some research I knew I was going to buy a Braun. I was going to buy a cheaper model, but Black Friday deal made it much cheaper! The cheapest option was with the clean & charge station which is a bit over the top and requires the additional purchase of cleaning fluid, but works OK. It’s supposed to dry the shaver, but there is usually a deposit of the fluid left, which stings a bit. I don’t use the cleaner every time I shave, and multi-pack deals are available on the fluid, so it’s not too expensive to run.
I am retired so I don’t need to shave every day and it was the S9 Pro’s ability to shave a longer beard that made it my top choice. I’ve docked one star because the charger takes up so much space, doesn’t fully dry the shaver and the shaving heads get quite hot in use, mainly when dealing with a longer beard to be fair, but otherwise it performs perfectly and barely takes any longer to shave a seven day beard than a one day one.

The basic razor works very well. Close shave. Trimmer for sideburns. Directions for using razor in diagram form. Not enough detail. Had to get friend to show me which was on/off button as he had an electric razor. I still don’t know what the up/down switch does. BUT it goes into great detail on how to use the cleaning docking bay. supplied. You leave it permanently plugged in. You slide a plastic tray of cleaning fluid into the back. Place razor inverted into aperture over the tray and that cleans it. The fluid gradually evaporates. (Needs replacing monthly) Diagram of removing fluid from razor unclear. But written warnings about “do not knock, jar or tilt the console or the chemicals will spill and damage work surface underneath” very clear. So I’m just cleaning out razor with old brush from a previous razor.

Golden Review Award: 5 From Our UsersI have been using this shaver for the last month. It has been great to use both in it’s shave and handling.

I have tested in with two days beard growth, which my old Series 7 always seem to struglle to cope with (even with a new head). It did a great job in the same time it took a normal 24 hour beard.

The trimmer is also very well designed and works excellently.

The battery indicator has shown 3/4 charge after a weeks daily shave. Seems very good. As I Clean & Charge the shaver once a week the overall life remains untested.

My only two minor dislikes are: Although this model came with a solid hard case there is no plastic cover for the head, like some other makes of shaver, plus the shaver is a little noisy, but is still quieter than the Series 7.

If you upgrade like me from the Series 7 to Seies 9 Pro, you cannot go wrong, if you get it at a discounted price, well worth the 250 I paid. I also recommend buying a spare head as prices are likely to increase (I got mine for 49.99 from Boots, not Amazon)

5.0 out of 5 stars 10/10 Very Pleased With The Series 9 Pro
