This was a gift. She seems to like it – it’s often on when I go to her house. It’s neat and attractive matches the kitchen The sound quality is fine. I liked that it is rechargable so it’s infinately portable. Plays from an MP3 player and the reception is good
Love this radio, the sound is of good quality. Very easy to set up. The preset is very simple to work out, I would highly recommend this radio, it fits on a small shelf (see photo) and it’s has a great quality feel to it.
I brought this radio as a present for my partner. I have charged it and set it up for her, so it is all ready to go on Christmas morning. My review is based on my time with the radio during that process.
I charged it yesterday and it did take between 4-6 hours. I was not watching the clock all that closely and had it hidden away so my wife did not see it. This is not an unreasonable period compared to the DAB only Pure One radio that it is replacing. However, that does have a bigger rechargeable battery, which was an additional purchased option, and incidentally was a fair bit more expensive.
Set up was very very easy and it auto scanned over 100 stations. Our signal is not all that good, so this was impressive. It arranges the stations in alphabetical order and defaults to the first station, which was one of the Absolute Radio groups programmes. I switched to Classic FM because that and radio 4 are the most likely destinations. The sound is good and the volume adequate to fill our largish kitchen. If the volume is jacked right up to maximum then the sound does loose a little composure but stay below 75% or so and you will be fine.
This is a very attractive looking radio with a large and easy to read screen. The depth of the casing was a little larger than I was expecting but I am guessing this is to do with the sound quality and in particular the bass porting at the rear of the case. It may also be used as a Bluetooth speaker and has a 3.5mm audio input port, for connection to an MP3 player or a laptop say. This radio is also very well put together and the finish is excellent. Last year, I paid a similar price for an August DAB only radio for my daughter so she could listen to the cricket while she was working. I must say this i-box is far superior in every way, (sorry August but I am afraid it is simply no contest).
There is probably more to say and I did not explore all the features. These are covered well in the multi-lingual user manual and so you could easily explore them yourselves.
My verdict is a very strong recommendation. More cash will buy you better sound but at this price point of just below 45 this radio is an absolute winner and has very little similarly price competition. It is one of my best buys of the year, a bargain and above all an excellent radio. I am hoping my partner will be as delighted, as I am, with this purchase.

I wanted a radio for my office at work, once charged lasts 2/3 days of 8hrs play. Looks great, sounds great and it is portable once charged. As I have all my music library on my phone the Bluetooth option enables me to listen to any of my music in the office. All for a great price. Very pleased.
I have had such bad luck with dab radios, poor quality all round. I think I might be lucky with this one, good size radio, perfect for bedside, good clear radio controls, well lit up, and easy to use,touch action with off/on.I was a bit horrified to see it was a USB connection, however this one fits better than some I have had. Also fairly good rich sound.
Decided we needed a radio we could recharge in view of impending power cuts.
This is definetly the one. We can hear all our favourite channels, especially classic fm for me, and smooth for the mrs. The fact that I can recharge when required is the icing on the cake.
