This is nice and compact but also quite well made. It has had no issues so far with my fairly heavy cameras. The double locking mechanism, a switch and a button, makes sure that it is extra secure when in use.

The one issue I have found with it is that, due to the tight tolerances of its build, getting the quick release plate into the adapter can be rather finicky. It is a fairly exact fit, so putting it in at even the slightest wrong angle just doesn’t work and can sometimes be frustrating. The upside of course is that once it is inx it is very secure and doesn’t have any give to wobble or shake.

Overall it’s a great quick release adapter that will be great in a situation where you need to swap equipment now and then. But I feel if it’s multiple times a day, the finicky nature might be too much of an issue.

As a videographer, one of the best things to invest in is a quick release system like this. This quick release makes transitioning from hand held shots, to tripod, to slider, etc so much quicker and easier. I love the release and catch mechanism of this particular quick release. You just press the button and it pops out. To reattach , you just is in the same button and push your camera back down with a satisfying and reassuring click. The product itself is made of a sturdy feeling metal and has a textured surface so your camera won’t slip around. It is a little tall so it may not be the best choice for using in a gimbal or steadycam depending on your setup. It is best to have multiple bases for these for all of your gear.

I would confidently recommend this quick release system

I’m just an average guy who is just getting familiar with cameras, lighting and audio again. I was very interested in these things in the mid nineties but had lost touch with the technology for many years until now. I use this quick release and connect with a tripod/selfie stick in my GoPro and it works great for what I’m doing. It’s important to point out that the tabs must be out to secure the connections. If you’re connecting a larger camera and the tabs aren’t in the out lockout position it’s not locked in and will fall off. It seems to be made well and lightweight.

This makes it so much easier to attach my camera to my gimbal. I balanced it and left the quick release base on the gimbal. Now I just snap it in and take it off in the same spot without having to balance again.

This is a small but robust quick release plate. My full frame Sony A7R3 with 24-70 F2.8 lens was held very solidly. Highly recommend.

To be honest, the biggest challenge with the product is I forget that you need both pieces for this product to be useful when working with multiple tripods, etc. Don’t get me wrong. The product is well designed and does well what it’s designed for. If you accidentally forget to take the bottom part out and then go somewhere else with another tripod, then it’s useless and you need to replace the piece attached to your camera with another Arca plate, etc. The solution? You need to put the product on ALL of the tripods you have and attach the plate to all of your cameras and devices. 😉 Good business for the manufacturer.

This quick release device works as intended
It’s not that sturdy as there is some play when connected but that was a given to me
The overall construction is really good and the material used seems to be of good quality
If you need a quick disconnect, this one works well enough just don’t expect it to be a solid rigid mou

This is a very nice quality mounting plate. I prefer having two buttons because I’ve had a one button quick release plate fail on me before. Having two release buttons means there are two locking points to secure the plate and this arrangement makes the plate feels tight and sturdy.

The trade-off for the sturdy and secure connection is the fact that sometimes it is difficult to plug in the plate. As a testament to the build quality, the plate and the mounting adapter has a very tight dimension tolerance. The downside to that is the plate needs to be plugged in at exactly 90 degrees to the adapter. Any slight angle when you plug in the plate means that the plate won’t go in correctly or locking securely. If there’s any doubt whether the plate is fully plugged in, you can look at the two red release buttons. If they look like they’re pressed in, then the plate is not locked.

That said, I would prefer a tight tolerance mounting plate over the one-button quick release plate any day. As stated above, I’ve had a one-button quick release plate that failed on me before. I want to know for certain that my expensive gear will be held securely and the Q22 plate does exactly that. One way that might help make the plate plug in quicker is to taper the end of the attachment so that in the event that the plate is plugged in at a slight angle, it would be corrected by the adapter by the time the plate is fully plugged in.

This quick release looks to have been machined and finished well. There are no aluminum burrs sticking off, getting in the way. The black and red finish are done nicely. The buttons work as they should. I have been using this for about a month now and it is far better than the release that came stock with my tripod.

This quick release is well made and feels like it will last for years. Easy to use and can be locked in place.
    5 stars.

    Almost perfect!
Is very convenient and if your tripod head is arca swiss compatible, then is a breeze to attach/de-attach. Made of full metal. Lightweight and has a sturdy mechanism. I removed one star because I do not like the 2 push button design, I wish only a finger was required to push just one button. Other than that, very convenient.

I wish had only one push butto

Compact quick release which holds your equipment very solid with no wiggling. Once engaged, there is no play what so ever in the connection.

This quick release is a heaven sent especially for gimbal users. It makes it so much easier to remove the camera from the gimbal and either switch to a tripod (granted you have the same base). I typically need to take off my camera to do handheld shots when needed. If I did not have this quick release I would need to rebalance the gimbal since most gimbals some sort of slider base that gets taken out anytime you remove the camera. With this I leave the slider base attached to the gimbal and I am easily able to remove the camera without messing with its balance. I really like the locking mechanism as well. helps reassure me that my camera is staying put no matter what. I like that you have to depress both side buttons in order for it to release. Good safety measure overall.

The quality is good and easy to use.
    However it’s a little larger for insta360 one R.
However it’s still great for nikon D800.
Will test it more this weekend.
