A good tool to have for light work, or you need a few batteries at hand

Battery life is pretty good for a hard working tool. Went through steel re-enforced concrete like it was cardboard. Small size is deceptive.

Lightweight unit…..i have mine hooked up to the new 5ah power stack battery, which gives it the needed extra grunt.
I used this on a job last week cutting metal corrugated roofing sheets, the grinder worked well, only issue was the power button, which is stiff and the grinding guard which i found limits the cutting angle more than on my other grinders, i can’t seem to get it into right angle to get most out of the cutting discs.
Nice addition to the tool ki

Really like it, as a DIYer with a few DeWalt tools went for this while at a good price. First job was to cut down the sheet steel tops and bottoms off some Venetian blinds. It felt very powerful and very precise, and being cordless makes it such a pleasure to use. I don’t want to mark it down too much on battery, it uses lots because it’s a proper full power angle grinder. However, I would comment it will get through a third of a 2Ah battery with about a minute’s use so don’t expect to cut all your patio slabs if you only have 2 of this capacity battery, you may be waiting around for them to charge!

These tools are superb quality and I’ve used them for years. This latest upgrade for me is no different!

Very good grinder, great power very sturdy.
Disc change is far more simple then other grinders I’ve used.
Does not come with case, just the grinder itself and side handle

5.0 out of 5 stars Great grinde

People say about the battery life but with working on site there aren’t many 18v grinders that don’t go throw battery’s but the hold it great the control of it is easy compared to the brushed version its 2nd to none

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersBought this as I wanted to replace a corded 4.5 inch Makita – purely for the blade brake and ability for the machine to cut the power if it detects the disc being stressed.

Yes it’s expensive for a DIY tool but the safety features are only available on cordless ones… so took the plunge.

I’ve used it to cut 16mm rebar and slice some dense 7n concrete blocks. All handled with ease. I already had a couple of 5Ah batteries but it went through both of them when cutting the blocks – it’s quite battery hungry! Not surprising though as it feels WAY more powerful than the 4.5 inch Makita.

If you’re after a cordless grinder then this, in my view, is an absolute winner. Mind you, it comes with no batteries so that’s extra on top. If you have the batteries then this is a no-brainer.

The unit I got was barebones, no battery, charger or case. I have been using a 2AH battery only and it is ok but you need lots of battery power for this beast.

Nice powerful machine. Comfortable to use with one hand. Bought this bare unit and use 4ah batteries which are used up pretty quickly cutting tiles.
I would definitely recommend this grinder but with bigger batteries for everyday use.

I have always relied upon dewalt to provide high end quality equipment and yet again I am not disappointed. Robust and solid construction with ergonomic design I know that this battery Grinder will last the test of time in my workshop. Very pleased with the power output, low noise and vibration. I purchased a pair of non branded 5Ah batteries to fit and they two perform perfectly.

Product spot on, delivery terrible just dumped on doorstep ready to be stolen didn’t even knock or ring the door bell, good job I was waiting and watching on camera.

Very nice tool. Didn’t give it a 5 star just because it runs batteries down quickly(using 4ah batteries). Other than that excelent. Quick disk removal, easy adjustment and removal of guard and nice to handle.

Very good product, fast delivery, just does not come in a genuine Dewalt cardboard box. All items supplied, just a note if You want to register extended warranty You will not find production date in battery compartment as usual, it’s located at top of body behind disc guard.

This is a typically well made Dewalt cordless tool which provides superb unfettered access without the nuisance of an electric power cable which would otherwise present a significant danger when using a disc cutter with visibility obscured by goggles. A great compliment to the Dewalt 18 V cordless range.

Easy to use and hold one handed, I have a weak left hand. Wish I’d bought one earlier. Battery life is good but not overly long. If you have a spare then you’ll be ok. Easy to fit discs. Altogether a good purchase.

Brilliant bit of kit, drains batteries at an alarming rate so make sure you have a spare (or 2) waiting in the wings, otherwise does what it says on the tin. You can’t go wrong with dewalt.

does exactly what it should, good balance with 4ah battery just a bit awkward with a 9ah, would of preferred a trigger switch rather than the side switch but that’s me,
all in all its its dewal

I have not used it yet, as I want it for outdoor use and as yet it has not been dry! I will just have to wait but I do have a DeWalt corded angle grinder and other DeWalt battery tools that are very good, being able to the same battery for the tools is a big plus. Battery tools are so convenient, saves having to run power leads, especially if there is not a power supply nearby.

My first battery powered angle grinder, and I’m impressed. The unit is well designed, very ergonomic, and of high build quality. It’s powerful for general cutting and grinding, and functions well with multitool accessories. With two batteries and a fast charger the unit offers good endurance. The only thing to note is that with a delta sander attachment the hook and loop face can be ruined too easily if operating the unit at max speed continuously (it’s a heat build up within hook and loop interface due to friction between sanding plate and sanding sheet (NB this is not a unique problem to this manufacturer). I therefore control the speed with the trigger and tend to sand in short bursts to minimise hook and loop degradation. Overall, it’s an excellent product.

About as good as it gets. No need for a full review, this is just a superb machine. You will need a minimum of a 5ah battery (like any grinder). Disc change mechanism very good, easy guard removal. Only thing i would like to see is a holder for the allan key for changing the blade incorporated into the body somehow. Excellent addition to the dewalt family.

Golden Review Award: 9 From Our UsersFirst test of this was cutting the bottom off a 15kg gas bottle. I used all 3 of my 5Ah batteries and most of a 4Ah.

Whilst the grinder is very good, it will eat through batteries FAST. Also, if you hammer it the way I did, you can’t charge the batteries straight away as they need about 20 minutes to cool down first.

For light duty though it is excellent. Powerful, well designed, easy to hold and having no cable to worry about is great, I can take the tool to the job without messing around with great big extension leads.

great tool iv used it for heavy cutting and grinding (which isnt recommended) and still no problems. Make sure you buy a big battery she is heavy on juice but thats understandably

Solid tool with loads of power. Cuts through the majority of brick/concrete I throw at it with ease. Love the fact you don’t have to hold the trigger on to keep it spinning in this model however that maybe a disadvantage to more frail users

Golden Review Award: 11 From Our UsersGreat brand, great product. I brought this as I already had 6 Dewalt XR tools and three 5amp batteries. It does use battery power quickly. I was able to to fifteen 450mm concrete slabs before battery had depleted using a diamond blade. Also had to wait 15 minutes for Battery to cool down for charging to commence after constant use. If you already have a dewalt charger and 5amp batteries or above then this is the grinder to go for, if not consider battery cost and how often you will need to charge.

Fast delivery. Not had chance to use it yet. But it feels good and with a 5Ah battery attached feels well balanced.
Slowly changing all my tool to Dewalt, and this I’m sure will be just as good as the others.
Thinking of buying Dewalt? One of the best tool brand I’ve bought.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersHighly recommend .

Excellent product. Personally I prefer it to other brands. Grinder is very easy and nice to use. Easy to change blade too. Only thing i would say is you cannot adjust the speed like on the makita version (there may be another dewalt version that does offer this).

Golden Review Award: 10 From Our UsersGreat little tool, not as powerful as their 54v model but it’s also much lighter and the ability to use it with the smaller batteries is invaluable. The toggle switch is great, means it can be turned on then worked into awkward positions. Lightweight and convenient, makes a great addition to a toolbag for carrying around in the back of the truck.
A great feature is the keyless spindle nut, because it never locks up even if a disc binds up. If a disc does bind up the machine is so quick to turn itself off it’s off before you realise it was going to bind.
Great tool although it is a bit expensive, but it’s a case if you get what you pay for. Would buy again.
Quick adjust guard is very handy but could do with a little refinement on DeWalts part.
Handy for making little cuts and is a great tool all round.
