Good feel to the jig saw, well balanced with a 5ah battery. Good adjustment for the pendulum settings and variable speed meaning accurate start to cutting lines, the quick blade change feature works well.
his is the best tool I have added to my workshop in recent years. Particularly easy to change blades. Takes the same battery as my De Walt drill, which came with 2.
Delighted to find this jigsaw from DeWalt on offer and to receive it quickly and well packaged. The device is the usual quality I expect from DeWalt and uses the battery and charger I already have for other devices. Worth the investment.

i brought this jigsaw because it works with my drill batteries. i don,t wont battery chargers all over the place.
To hard to send back, so stuck with it.
Probably do the job fine, but I would make sure I was buying from Amazon and not a third party company especially if you may want to return it.
From up cycling pallets I made a cutlery tray among other items Jigsaw is easy to use powerful and cuts quickly. I’m a retired diy person like messing about with timber I have other dewalt tools as well all performing very well
Cannot praise this enough! I use it for everything really great piece of kit. Better than any jigsaw I’ve had before. Only issue is battery life, I will be purchasing better batteries.
I bought this jigsaw because I had a lot of metal trunking to cut and because the rest of my tools are DeWalt so I can share batteries. I’ve only had it two days but it’s already proved its worth! Another great power tool from DeWalt!
A little expensive but as always you get what you pay for. When you buy Dewalt you can’t go far wrong. I have had 7-8 Dewalt tools and will continue to buy them as I am happy with them.

Really pleased with the tool with a veritable speed on the trigger it’s just what you need when your working 30ft off the ground like I do most days .. can’t recommend it enough … how did I manage without it before.
I’ve used this jigsaw to convert loft, do 150m2 of laminate, various cuts in garage conversion and it’s been fantastic.
Quality tool is always worth the money.
I love this jigsaw. Used this to refit an entire kitchen, cupboards, floor, worktops etc and it impressed me all the way through so I cannot fault it. Got some fine cut blades to use so I expected a slower performance on each cut but you couldn’t tell. The speed and strength of the jigsaw is great and having no cord is also brilliant.
What can I say? It’s cordless, it’s dewalt, it’s a hot knife and I would recommend to my friends and people, but like usual, the price could be lower imo but I Guess, as Long as dewalt keep making great tools, it’s worth paying for the price.
It’s a DeWalt, quality all the way. Trigger is sensitive, so perfect for slow start if required. nice blade angle changes. great dust extraction. Possibly not the lightest on the market but I prefer the extra weight makes it feel robust, which it is. and of course uses the same battery as all my other DeWalt products.
So i have pretty much every Dewalt 18v power tool and this one is my 2nd jigsaw.
The blades are easy to change, quick adjustment of bed for angled cut’s. powerful enough to cut solid timber as well great control on shaped cuts. easy to handle over long periods of use. Comes with a plastic protection for metal bed.

I’m gradually switching over from mains to Dewalt xr 18volt cordless power tools. This was bought to replace a 30 year old Bosch jigsaw that was the bee’s knees in its day and was still giving what I considered to be sound service. What a revelation this yellow and black beastie turned out to be, the first time I used it. The speed of fitting/changing blades and the lack of vibration made it a delight to use. It is rather battery-hungry, which would be a problem if you only have 1.5 or 2ah batteries, but shouldn’t be a problem if my 4ah batteries, ordered at the same time, ever arrive. Unfortunately, it looks like the utterly useless DPD couriers have lost them and I’ll have to make a claim.
Used it for the first time yesterday, combined with a 5AH battery this certainly packs a punch, a very impressive and versatile tool, only regret I have is that I never bought one ages ago. I’m now replacing what tools I can with dewalt cordless.
It’s Dewalt so quality and powerful enough for everyday DIY.
The dust extraction works well – not used the mitre yet though.
Only criticism is the lack of a laser – but I knew that when buying.
The best Jigsaw I’ve had – It’s cut timber, planks, MDF etc and I’ve even used it cutting branches in the garden. Plus its brilliant when its too far away to run a cable. My DeWalt drills have lights on the front and it would have been much better if this had too….
I have a mix of Makita and Dewalt tools, but was open to anything with when choosing a new jigsaw. I reason I went for this over any other, and in particular over the Makita cordless equivalent, was the ability to bevel the base plate and therefore make angled cuts up to 45 degrees. As I do a lot of work with plywood to make shelving units, this means I can make corner joints without making cuts on the table saw.
The only feature this doesn’t have that I know a lot of people like is a LED to illuminate the blade. Personally I have never found seeing the blade an issue, and would rather have bevelled cuts any day.
I got the chance to use it this week. Action is smooth and solid and it makes less noise than I imagined, Still enough to make the City bods get excited but this bad boy rips thru effortlessly and I’d finished before the email hit the Facilities Managers desk.
It doesn’t come with any blades and, which I didn’t expect it to, and I’d only recommend genuine DeWalt blades, I got a pack of 5 for about 6, so why bother going cheaper.
Its variable speed obviously and the footplate is sturdy, adjusts easily and is clearly marked and graduated and the action is so smooth that you don’t need to drill pilot holes to get started. Blade changing is a doddle and the exhaust function is reversible to allow the swarf to be blown away from the cut, genius. Well balanced and a delight to use.
This is the ‘bare’ model so didn’t come with batteries (or a case) as the batts are interchangeable with my cordless which was the idea.
Cant recommend this highly enough.
It cuts straight, it cuts clean it cuts fast. Because the blade is held extremely securely and the tool has a solidity and weight. The variable speed is eminently controllable with a very soft start and no balance issues to throw you off line.
Choose the right blade, Dewalt blades (packs off amazon) are excellent and bosch blades fit straight in. Tool free fitting of blade. Tool free fast adjustment of the base shoe gives angled cuts for compound mitres etc ( get dewalts speed square and clamp it to the work piece as a guide for outstanding accuracy). For a single room renovation my 15 kg mitre saw can stay in the garage!
Ergonomics are best in the market.

As you may know from other reviews, I am not a handy man. I struggle putting a poster on a wall but I actually ordered this Jigsaw and a Dewalt Planer ( DeWalt DEWPDCP580N 18 V XR Li-ion Brushless Cordless Planer – Yellow ) for my brother who is a builder/joiner.
He has used every type of tool by every manufacturer and swears by Dewalt. He doesn’t have an amazon account so I ordered them for him. He used them for just over a month and said that the Planer was the best plane he had ever used and that the jigsaw was also very impressive. He recommended both of these tools to everyone at work and was going to buy another plane for when he is travelling to odd jobs like most builders do.
However about a month ago his van was broken into and over 3000 tools were stolen. If anyone has ever had this happen to them then they will know how awful it is and that you are very unlikely to see their tools again. Usual steps were taken and he was in the position of not having any money to replace the tools and couldn’t earn money without them.
In a desperate attempt he contacted Dewalt and asked them if they could sell him refurbished tools or offer a small discount as he was a valued customer (Still has all of the Dewalt receipts) and was told by a company that he had bought from for years and recommended to hundreds of people that it was not there problem.
I don’t doubt the quality of Dewalt tools and the 2 tools mentioned above would be given 10 stars if it was possible but the customer service of Dewalt is so poor that he refuses to ever buy one of the products again.
I have to say I am very impressed with this saw, very powerful and lovely to use. I have just spent three and a half days building a 8×6′ potting shed and used the jigsaw to cut all the 3×2′ framing and all the ship lap boarding without a hitch on only two charged 4ah batteries, fantastic. Recommend this saw to anyone.
It’s a DeWalt….it’s a jigsaw…what more is there to say? Quality at a reasonably price. Bought to cut out a hole for a inset sink in thick worktop and it sailed through the task. I used the batteries from my DeWalt drill.
Blazes through it’s tasks with ease, nicely balanced and therefore very easy to control, changing blades is simplicity with enough power for most materials, my mains powered jigsaw doesn’t get a looking nowadays.
Used with a couple of 4 Amp batteries as the additional capacity and weight make the tasks easier and quicker to accomplish.

Nice feel to the action on this and not so aggressive as my previous mains power jigsaw so usual Dewalt quality. Blade change is very easy and you will appreciate the dust blower which keeps the blade area clear of sawdust. Very precise and controllable together with plenty of power. 3.0 or 4.0 AH batteries last very well. Have used for scribing laminate flooring around intricate shakes and very good results with hardly any chipping out. Recommended as part of a 18v set.
Update:
One annoying thing is that the lever that releases the tilt keeps releasing itself- forever putting it back. I note that this model has been obsolete in the US for at least 6 years- the brushless version replaced it. Wish I had known that…
I’ve been reluctant to try DeWalt to present because of the price, but after trying a cordless drill and then finding the same battery would fit a jig saw, I put my hands in my pocket and splashed out, and WOW! I wished I had done it before.
I could write a book on how I feel about the wonderful benefits using DeWalt gives, but if I just say it does what it says it will, and does it with power in such a controlled manner, that makes the job a lot safer to do.
The only thing I find a little bit difficult is, although the weight in the jigsaw is necessary, I’m retired and found it difficult cutting into a plaster wall in a vertical way. Saying that, I’m doing the same today and will take yesterdays difficulty into consideration and take my time, so please don’t let that put you off buying, it’s worth that little bit extra cash.
