A well-made and well-designed product – super useful on so many occasions, work, leisure emergencies.
It’ll run / charge devices over the course of a weekend whilst camping or will charge and allow me to operate laptop phones out in the field for a prolonged period.
Recharge times are excellent: one hour from the mains, two hours from the car charger, three hours from the eco-flow solar panels.
Highly recommended – great brand, super versatile and a quality produc
This is a piece of kit that just works. I have only just got it but I have used it to boil a travel mug/kettle and it did it no problem. It measured 315Watts for about 3 minutes. I then charged it up using my 100W solar panel. The screenshot shows the charge power but bear in mind this was a fairly overcast day.
If you are looking for a reliable power source for camping, or vanlife, look no further. Super fast charging, excellent life span, very portable – the Max2 has it all.
I purchased this unit at an excellent price of 411 new. It is very well made and easy to use. It charges from 0% to 100% in just an hour and has a very useful and informative and clear status screen detailing output and estimated battery time remaining. It can also be controlled via the Ecoflow phone / tablet app. It seems very accurate and reliable. It has numerous versatile outputs which all work very well. I run a full computerised astrophotography rig using this battery with multiple devices pulling around a constant 27Watts. The battery lasts for a full two nights, equating to around 17 hours of usage. So far it has proved 100 percent reliable and is a good deal lighter than a traditional lead acid battery. It also trumps a lithium Ion battery, as it is lighter, charges faster and is less chemicallly volatile, avoiding the risk of overheating and potential fire. When the unit is under high load a cooling fan engages. This is not too noisy and is unlikely to disturb anyone more than a few feet away. So far I highly recommend this battery.
As photographer I have plenty of batteries to charge when working outdoors(cameras, drone, lights). I remember the times, before I bought River2, when I accidentally run my car battery flat while charging equipment. Or when you have to idle your car engine instead of just simply plug all of your leads into this little, lightweight box and do your business while batteries are getting charged. Indoors I am using Ecoflow as backup for my iMac and wifi router, which is great as it continue to supply power when all of the sudden amount on my electrical meter is zero and it cutting off electricity at home. This is amazing, must have equipment. I decided to stick to this brand and I am planning to buy solar panels for camping season 2024.
Quite light so easy to carry around. I’ve used it to power AC mains devices and charge devices via USB. It charges quickly from the mains, I’ve also charged it from solar via the XT60 socket. A versatile little box. Only niggle is that the app doesn’t record solar charging history to allow you to see when the panel is getting enough sun to charge.
Having been studying the features and spec’s of this machine and its rivals and watching endless reviews on YouTube, I took the plunge and bought the EcoFlow. The plan was simple… I know I’m going to be wanting a much bigger unit in a few months, so get a smaller one so i can get used to using it and test it out on small scale and obviously cheaper first, IF you can call these things cheap.
So order was placed, dispatch from EcoFlow seemed to happen quite quickly (according to tracking anyway).
After a few days it eventually arrived, I have to admit that with the attached price tag I would have expected it to arrive a bit quicker… but it did at least arrive.
So I unboxed it, downloaded the App, Charged it up, Did the firmware update, Used it a bit, connected it to solar panel and ultimately it put itself to sleep… Imagine my surprise next morning when the display said it had 0% charge!!! It was actually defective and not flat at all.
From here on, its where i discovered that all those Youtubers claims about the superior and super helpful and super prompt assistance to their customers were probably talking points in a script provided with the product to review.
At this point I must state in fairness to EcoFlow They did Ultimately replace the unit… Its just the process of getting to that point was painfully slow and felt like I was basically dealing with total amateurs and that’s what so tragic about this whole scenario because the units are pretty good at the job you buy them to do. They have a good range of USB’s and a pretty decent inverter. I would like to see something better than a car style 10amp outlet… Maybe an Anderson Powerpole connection rated to 25amps would be amazing. But sadly EcoFlow doesn’t get that if camping a decent DC outlet is more Useful than high wattage AC
Bottom Line, Would i buy another? NO, EcoFlow is charging premium prices for basically an average product with average to poor customer support. I will still need a large unit but will definitely be looking around at different names and offerings agai
This is the 3rd Ecoflow powerstation I have bought. I started off with the Delta 2 then bought the Delta Pro. Once the River 2 arrived for sale I thought about getting a smaller and more compact device. I charge the River 2 from the other power stations though you can use solar or AC. The River 2 is a great size and holds quite a charge. I use it for charging smaller items like power banks, mobiles, regular AA or AAA batteries, Ring camera batteries etc. I haven’t used the AC function yet but its handy to have. The device is light enough that I would carry it in a back pack. I recently bought a few large capacity powerbanks from a well known brand and wish I had bought this first. Its a great entry device into the Ecoflow range. I like having the app functionality to monitor it from a distance and can change setting from my mobile. The other deciding factor was the LFP battery technology as it will outlast the older battery tech in regular powerbanks etc. I would recommend to others.
This is a great addition to my drone kit. The Ecoflow River 2 has a fast charge too 100% within an hour of being plugged in meaning I am set for a day outdoors knowing that I can keep recharging my drone batteries all day.
I use it to charge my Mini 3 Pro and Avata batteries and has allowed me to carrying on capturing video and photos for hours. As soon as one battery is used. I put it on charge and it’s ready again by the time I need it again. The device also allows me to charge multiple items (doe reduce charge time) such as my phone or two batteries at the same time.
The plug, USB ports including a C port gives me options on charging devices.
The weight of the Ecoflow River 2 is also just right and I carry it in my festival trolley or bag which I bought separately.
I am very impressed with this and would definitely recommend.
For my first Ecoflow purchase (well my first ever purchase into any of the power stations brands) I am pleasantly surprised and how much this bad boy can do, I can solar power it throughout the day and run my tv during the afternoon/evening with ease. Hoover my whole house without draining the battery completely as well as doing other things.
It’s lightweight enough that I can take it out practically everywhere and I love how quickly it can charge via sockets (got to love a cheeky costas every now and again)
I’m using it as part of a system now and it will surprise you how much you can save with this in the long run if you were wanting to use it daily like myself, even just using this instead of the home grid for charging up the phones and kids gaming consoles and controllers.
Yes, it is an investment in a way but I feel like you have to spend money to save money, especially with the cost of everything and Electric right now.
Would definitely buy it agai
Got this to use as a UPS for my home network kit, to smooth out power fluctuations and provide about 3 hours power to keep me online and some lights running in the event of the load shedding that was rumoured to be possible in the winter of 22/23.
It works well, for the load I run on it it’s consistently provided 2.75-3hours worth of power when tested,
I leave it plugged in and the auto switchover feature kicks in far faster than any of my kit can notice.
The only downside is the cooling fan can get a bit loud, even under low load.-
In my home office, when it kicks in it’s loud enough to be annoying but I just turn up the TV.
If I was using this as intended in a camping situation and the fan kicked in, it might be a pain, especially at night!
Assuming the device outlives its warranty I will replace the standard part for a quieter Noctua fan, but Otherwise,
it does what I got it for, even if that’s not exactly what it’s designed to do!
This is a tidy and compact power station. We use it to back up and recharge an electric day boat. Very comforting to know that taking the power station along for a day out means you’re sure to get back on the water.
So let me start by saying I already had a River 2 and EcoFlow solar panels and I have to say, they are amazing. They did exactly what they were meant to and worked flawlessly.
I was so impressed I was recommending to friends and family.
I decided to purchase the River 2 Pro due to having 2 solar panels that produce 200w and the River 2 can only handle 110w solar input. Also having the larger battery capacity just made sense.
So the River 2 Pro arrived and within 24 hours I noticed that there were some issues with it. It seemed to lose a lot more power in standby over night than it’s little brother did, but I put this down to the unit being new and the battery management would work this out after a few cycles. The other thing I noticed was the cooling fan would turn on at high speed occasionally after turning off the AC inverter, and would stay on until I switched the AC inverter on and off again. I thought that’s a bit disappointing but thought it’s something that will surely be fixed with a firmware update.
Well after a couple of weeks there was a firmware update and I excitedly updated the unit. The new features that were added would make the unit so much more useful it would be amazing. Unfortunately the firmware made the unit unusable. The new features included a new way of setting charging and discharging limits, these just don’t work. The River 2 Pro sails past both limits, it charges to 100% even though the limit is set to 85%, and fully discharges to 0 even though it should shutdown the AC inverter at 20%. But the biggest problem is if the unit fully shuts down it resets the unit timeout setting and sets it to 30 mins. But allowing the unit to timeout has an even bigger issue, even if the battery is full at 100% the battery shows empty. It will not allow you to try and charge or power any devices and if connected to the solar panels attempts to trickle charge the battery until the power input reaches at least 120w either via solar or AC mains, then all of a sudden there is a audible click and the unit shows it’s correct charge level.
So I have emailed EcoFlow about these problems, I laid out exactly what the problems are. The response from EcoFlow is very disappointing. It takes days to get a response and even then it’s very vague. They asked for all my details which I gave them and since then I have received nothing. To add insult to injury I received an automated email saying that as I hadn’t emailed them in 4 days they would view my case as closed. This is because I am still waiting for a response from them.
I have watched all the YouTube videos from influencers saying how amazing the EcoFlow units are and until getting the River 2 Pro I thought they were right, but my experience has soured my thoughts on EcoFlow.
I am disappointed in the unit, yes, but the worst part is the lack of after sales support.
The River 2 Pro is not ready/fit for purpose.
UPDATE
So the original review only had 1 star as I was so disappointed with the issues I was having and the after sales service. But I think it is only fair to give an update on how things are now.
EcoFlow support did role my firmware back, but this seemed to cause more problems than it fixed. I then requested they try again with the latest firmware and I noticed that this time the firmware took a lot longer to install and the River 2 Pro seemed a lot more stable.
Things seemed to go well after that and about a week later there was another firmware update and although it said it was only for a Bluetooth issue, things are even more stable.
It’s been over 2 and a half weeks now and the River 2 Pro is working exactly as it should. I am very pleased with the new features the latest firmware has brought. These include programmable timers that enable me to set times when the River 2 Pro will allow charging from mains or solar and the ability to turn on the AC Inverter for set times. I use this unit in a garage without mains power and I have connected some lights to the River 2 Pro and using the timer to turn on the AC inverter for a few hours in the evening when I may want to go to the garage just makes it very easy.
So to sum up, I am now very happy with the River 2 Pro. I feel the build quality is great and it now does exactly what I bought it to do, with some very useful features added in. My only regret is the amount of time it took to get it all fixed. The customer support did help and were very polite. I just wish it didn’t take up to a week to get a response.
So I am changing this to 4 stars as the River 2 Pro is doing everything I could ask for and with the new updates so much more, but although the problems were solved taking a week for a reply is just not good enough.
Took this on my overnight camp. Woke up and just had plug my kettle in and had a lovely cup of Tea. Small and compact and I always have electricity on the GO.
Great product.
So I have been checking reviews on amazon for specifically ecoflow river 2 Pro and there aren’t many.
I live in Cyprus and we have frequent power cuts here and I also love going camping. Both situations require a reliable power supply.
Knowing our audience here let’s talk about camping first. This little beast will be able to power up your induction hob for about an hour on max. Your portable table top fan about 15 hours. Your small fan heater for an hour. About 12 hours for a regular laptop. Countless times for a phone recharge.
Now talking about power cut back up
.. this lovely thing will be able to run your A+ fridge for about 15 hours… your regular fan for 12 hours. Your 55 inch TV and desktop pc combined for 5 hours. Your hairdrey on medium heat and speed for 2 hours.
You can find the regular specs all around the net. This actual usage info should be enough to help you decide whether this is the power solution you want for your needs.
I use a compressor for body art and power it using a generator. I wanted an alternative which was cleaner and quieter. This I have found using the ecoflow River 2. It is easy to use , silent and very light. It gives me just about 4hrs of power when I’m working almost continuously with my airbrushes. I am so happy with it I am just about to buy a 2nd one to give me hopefully up to 8 hrs of power.
I was looking for a mobile battery that held its charge well. Been off grid for a couple of weeks. Worked perfect for keeping mobile & laptop working on the go. Charging with 130W solar panel. Charges super quickly on bright sunny days, also great to have the option of charging off mains if needed. 1hour coffee & recharge at services & good to go.
Free electronic, happy days.
It’s nice and compact, feels quite light but not compromising on sturdiness.
Not fully utilised it yet but did have it charging on the solar panel in the Scottish sun (yes we do get it, just not as bright or warm as some other places).
Bought it use at festivals and general camping trips. Will update once its had a good use.
Wherever you need power, this device enables you to have it now. Bought it for camping on-site or wild camping, also for a future micro-camper. Since actually owning one, the uses have grown – it is ideal to take to offsite business meetings when the laptop battery is depleted quickly using high power-consuming applications. such as 3D rendering of buildings. When I read other reviews I thought been waiting for ‘power stations’ like this, now see and think the product is even more applicable than I first thought.
Will definitely buy a larger unit later when I get a micro-camper as it strikes me as a hub to connect to and through for larger power-consuming applications.
The EcoFlow River 2 is a compelling, lightweight portable power station for weekends away, as it offers enough capacity to keep phones, cameras, and laptops charged up.
The EcoFlow River 2 is a small, easy-to-use portable power station that can hold a decent amount of charge (and refill it very quickly) and has plenty of ways to access it, making it an excellent pick for keeping phones, laptops, and small appliances running on a weekend away. The EcoFlow River 2 is improved over the original, with more outputs: three USB and two AC outputs and the same capacity in a lighter package: 7.7lbs (3.5kg) (5kg) against the 11lbs of the original River. For something that you would carry with you uphill and across the dale, that’s a big difference.
River 2 has also had some changes made on the inside from the original River, with EcoFlow moving to Lithium Iron Phosphate batteries (usually called LiFePO4 or LFE type). This newer type of battery replaces the Lithium Ion ones used in the original River, offering the advantage of standing up better to the rigors of heavy use and behaving better in the cold. EcoFlow claims they will keep working for 10 years or 3000 charge cycles. They only offer a 5-year warranty, though.
Great portable power station, I would recommend this product because it has a high output which which works well on a range of devices. Highly recommend, plus the one hour fast charge from zero is extremely helpful.

Arrived promptly, well packaged, excellent quick charge system, kept my portable fridge going for 2 days, highly recommended
This is the 2nd entry level solar generator/ power station and is the first from eco flow which I will definitely recommend 100% I used it for charging my phone laptop and projector put it and charge and it was ready to go again within 30min back to full battery so fast to charge this unit up that I will be packing my original device away and I am now looking at upgrading to a larger eco flow for my Campervan because this is a game changer.
The unit is extremely easy to use and understand controls are intuitive and the fact that either from the display or the mobile app it calculates your usage and gives you and accurate time before you run out of power it tells you how fast you are charging how long if left you can turn the ac power on or off from your phone I really can’t fault this in any way.
The unit feels strong and robust easy to carry around the layout of display and exiting power at front with all charge options on rear is perfect setup.
To sum up if you are looking for an entry level power station for lightweight power needs this is the one for you 300w ac power 12v dc usb and usb c this is worth every penny and won’t disappoi
Buy two camping batteries and a solar panel. Then buy a small collection of grow lights and seeds, vegetables, fruits, tobacco, tea. You can power a small orchard. One battery charging. One battery working. Permanent power source.
Ecco perch in alcuni punti semplici.
Ovvero:
– Tempo di scarica (basato sul consumo attuale)
– Percentuale di carica
– Input (in W)
– Output complessimo (in W)
In conclusione, l’ECOFLOW River 2 Pro davvero eccezionale. Un prodotto robusto ma leggero e versatile. Un must have per chi cerca l’avventura senza rinunciare ai confort della propria abitazione ma anche un sistema di sicurezza domestico.
Consigliato!!!

Alles lief fr mehrere Stunden Problemlos. Was mich positiv berrascht hat.
So far this kit has met my expectations and worth the money spent. Light and small to carry and have used few times seems to perform well.
I bought this product to primarily use with my 100W solar panel.
The good:
– light weight for it’s size
– powers up to 600w devices, for short period (longer the lower the watt)
– nice simple led display (tells you how long it’ll power an device, the battery %, input and output watts)
– lots of charging port options (AC, USB, USB-C etc…)
– comes with an assistant app, that give a lot more info (temp, input and output draws and life time in hours and minutes)
The bad:
– The device doesn’t always tell you the output wattage. I have a lamp and it reads 0W but it is clearly powering the bulb. However the device seems to tell me how long it’ll power the bulb for??
– Doesn’t always tell you the input watts. When using my solar panel in rough conditions, the device will still be charging (power on time will increase). However the watt value isn’t displayed.
– app requests location data?? why does it need this info??
– The device (according to the app) gets confused on what it inputting the power. I had my solar panel connected and it thought I was charging it from my car. Thankfully you can set it detect only solar in the app.
Great for the job in hand small with muti function nozzle easy to change to brush quick fit connectors, ideal for car washing, can turn off at the nozzle without walking back to the tap.
I use this for 12v lights in my house and for camping

Daumen hoch.
great little power station for campervan users, people who like camping and anyone who requires small items charging where mains electric is unavailable
This compact power-station is extremely easy to use straight from the box. The app in intuitive, easy to understand and connects wirelessly to the power-station either through your router or via Bluetooth. It can power most appliances without a problem (I tested it on my router for an hour and a half and only depleted the battery by 10%). The only drawback is that it is not powerful enough to power a small electric fan heater. That said, it is ideal for LED lights, emergency radios, cameras, laptops and other small appliances.
Multiple options for devices, lightweight and easy to store away in the van. Very straightforward to use and look after.
I once owned an expensive Allpowers solar battery that proved to be pathetic in terms of battery return performance so returned for refund.
Move forward a few years and the new generation of solar portable batteries come into production with several notable models on the market, Jackery, Bluetti etc and with the current energy crisis I wanted to reinvestigate this sustainable option.
Top of the review list comes EcoFlow River Pro with lots of 5* positive reviews with lots of new owners gushing about amazing run times, even claiming running high powered appliances, TVs, fridges etc etc from this device. The device is every bit as good as they say!
Additionally, its work reasonably well with the EcoFlow solar panel, however it’s an extra 360.
Highly recommend.
Great product which keeps all my devices charged on the go when needed
Seems easy to use. Charged up v quickly as advertised. Am getting the solar panels too.
Lightweight and got a free camping light! Ready for powercuts
Bought the unit as back up power supply in case of power outages during the upcoming winter period. The unit arrived well packaged and around 30% charged. I tested the unit to make sure all was fine (which it was) and used up my free Chinese electricity to run a 40w light bulb until the unit was depleted!! The unit is solidly constructed and well made. The station charges up to full in around one hour via the mains socket……..a point to note when charging directly from the mains is the unit’s cooling fan will kick in to prevent the unit from overheating. Slowing charging the unit via the USB minimises fan activity. One thing I failed to notice when ordering the unit was the lack of a direct 12V output (except via a 12V car output) which meant I couldn’t power my router directly without using the inverter function of the unit. Converting DC current to AC takes around 15% of available power so powering anything directly from DC will give you a longer output. This issue was easily resolved by buying a separate supply cable for less than 10.00. I will update this post if there is anything else to add once the unit has been used a few times.
I purchased my R2 Max direct on EcoFlow’s UK site
It’s my first power station and it is working well
The app is also very useful to control settings and see status remotely (yesterday I was able to check remotely while at the supermarket and see I was getting 145w solar input)
LiFePO4 batteries too
Jan 2024 Update: taken 1 star off as similar to my feedback on the Delta Pro, fan management is really poor and machine is just too loud. Other than that unit’s been operating flawlessly.
This is the 2nd EcoFlow solar batteries I’ve owned and they are quite something! The previous being top of the range Delta Pro and this new version of portable River2 solar battery compliments its big brother nicely.
If you saw their promo video, the new River 2 series are built to last, not only by the long lasting LFP batteries (3000 cycles to 80%/ 10years life even with full daily charge/discharge) but also literally can handle impact / fire / light rain torture tests. EcoFlow provides 5-year warranty for this series too which is great assurance.
My user case is a lot civilised only to power my office with an M1 Pro 16′ with a 4k 32′ monitor plus charging up other electronics so I didn’t go with torture testing. I also don’t use DC so this is not tested either. I’ll not spend too long on build quality / customer service etc. as EcoFlow is probably the top player and both reflected well.
Now moving to reasons why I really love this River2 Max unit, considering I also own 3 Ctechi portable solar batteries already:
1st and foremost is the rich info LCD displays all key info we need such as input/output wattage / remaining time running or charging / percentages etc which were all missing from Ctechi units;
2ndly, EcoFlow App allows us full control of the unit, anywhere anytime! It is really good app don’t have any complaints from me and works for both my units;
3rdly, one key issue I had with Ctechi was its aggressive USB-C cut out that I can’t use it to run my Mac as it constantly cuts in/out non-stop while EcoFlow River2 runs my Mac as if it is plugged into the wall with the 140w brick that I can even leave it on overnight;
Finally, some random bits: it has pure shine wave ac output (2 sockets) up to 1000w can run most of things, efficiency is just under 90%, portable enough can be used for camping trips, 1-usb-c 100w PD both ways (meaning you can charge it up via usb-c), DC outputs.
On some small negative side, I’m not a fan of the design with the handle protruding at the back of the unit although it sits nicely on my windowsill flash and the flat top unit to place things (why not implement a wireless charger for example) also that the fan still on slight loud side (maybe I’m too spoiled with M1 Pro silent machines) I wish EcoFlow can optimise it with future firmware updates. Oh also very annoyingly there’s no MC4 to XT60 cable so if you were like me prefer to use solar will have to purchase separately! For the price I’d expect to have it as minimum you can see my screen shot from the app, I’m charging it at 100w from Ctechi battery AC outlet as waiting for the cable to come.
To wrap up, previously Ctechi’s solar batteries would be my no.1 price/performance choice but the entry level River 2 would now just edged them with much richer functionalities and better technical execution that sits nicely in 250 mark. It is a worthy unit to have and would come handy either to supplement your existing solar batteries or to explore solar living plus added portability for camping etc., not to mention any short term blackouts!
Ecoflow really listens to its customers!! I told them it is better to use LFP battery, they really made the change on river2 series and delta 2. Now I’m such a big fan of this brand! I will buy more for my parents for xmax gifts if they offer good deals.
I bought this battery as my alternate battery source for my camper van. It is a great battery. It has been reliable and can provide for all the uses I planned for with this battery and can also charges my electronic devices.
