very pleased. Replaces a relatively new Canon which was exceptionally noisy and broke down a couple of days after the guarantee ran out. Have had several Epsons and have always been impressed.

So far all seems OK, but surprised to discover one of the cartridges is showing low ink after very little use.
I suspect that the inhouse cartridges supplied are not filled with much ink, encouraging customers to buy new at horrendous prices

I have owned this printer for some time and regularly clean its head using the maintenance facility. It works consistently well, prints adequately and has been incredibly useful. I have owned other makes but this Epsom is by far the most reliable. I am very happy with the prod and the price.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersPrints ok so far, haven’t had to change ink cartridges yet, the display panel is not very bright, have to bend down a lot to see it, not good with a bad back. So will need to place it on a higher surface to make this easier, just have to find the right piece of furniture, domino effect of unthoughtful design.
For us It took hours to achieve connectivity with Wi-Fi ,others might be more lucky, this was our experience, hours of frustration, thought plug and play was supposed to be easy.

Golden Review Award: 8 From Our UsersI have had the printer for about 2 months now and have overall been very pleased. The print quality is fine both for documents and photographs. It was easy to install and set up the wifi. I particularly like the easy to use double sided printing. I chose the printer primarily because I had Epson before and the fact that individual cartridges (four) can be replaced as necessary rather than waste unused ink as with some. Ink of course is expensive and one complete set of XL cartridges exceeds the cost of the printer. The cartridges supplied with the printer have less ink than regular cartridges but I estimate I printed about 75 -100 sheets before the black ran out. I took up an offer of 6 months free on the Readyprint scheme whereby Epson monitor usage and send out ink as necessary. This is not all that it seemed as they cannot monitor usage until the special replacement cartridges are put in so at least one month of the free offer has gone. Unused allowances can be carried forward for two months but only count after the normal allowance has been used up and any left over after 2 months are lost. However I hope this will be an economical means of being able to continue to use genuine inks rather than one of the many compatible options available.
In short I recommend the printer but check the running costs first and compare with other options.

Golden Review Award: 14 From Our UsersA great little cost-effective printer if you’re not printing a huge volume & not doing lots of colour image printing. A replacement set of ink is 4 more on average than the cost of the printer at 46 so you’ll be better setting up a Epson Readyprint monthly plan for ink. Well worth the 2-4 a month subscription.

Setting up is pretty easy, set up via a USB connection first, the password & serial number are on the inside of the print chamber, & make sure you download all the latest drivers for both the scanner & printer. Then unplug & set up Wifi access – its pretty seamless.

I’ve had no issue with ink charging times, or any of the issues mentioned in other reviews & this printer replaces an Epson XP-202 which I had for three years. This is better as the Wifi connection works well & is stable & the phone app is brilliant for ad-hoc infrequent printing from a phone or iPad.

5.0 out of 5 stars Good quality cheap printer but beware of ink costs

Golden Review Award: 11 From Our UsersI opted for the Epson XP-2200 after reading several reviews for this and other brands of printer. The deciding factor was that some other brands – especially HP – tie you in to them supplying the ink at their prices. Also I have always suspected HP have some program built in to their printers so they become obsolete after a certain time. No such problems with the Epson. It is a neat all-in-one printer. It comes with enough ink to set up the printer and print some test pages and a few more. Some people have commented on the difficult set up, but after a while I realised it is easier to let Windows detect the printer and automatically download drivers. So far, no problems. Very pleased with the purchase. A very reasonable price and as with all printers the ink can be the most expensive item. But at the moment that is available at a fair price on Amazon.

Good value for money printer. perfect for the household, (might not be suitable for a shared office). Light & compact. Easy to use. As usual Epson cartridges are expensive, but at least they are individual, so that can keep costs down…or buy compatible ones.

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersDidn’t even use the printer to print anything work-related. Had to do head cleaning for quite some time to get it to print consistently, especially for the color ones, and now the black cartridge is empty apparently all of a sudden. Not sure if the cartridge which FYI was not XL came with very little ink or was faulty, to begin with. Have to buy a new black ink cartridge after day 1 which to be honest is bonkers.

I have had Epson printers for many years and have been very happy with them- using compatible inks. My last one (an Expression Home Premium XP-520), was excellent, cheap to run and easy to use.
This one is quite easy to use, but the controls are harder to follow and even compatible inks are much more expensive. It seems they want you to buy the more expensive Ecotank models, which I guess could be cheaper in the long run. However, I don’t produce many copies, so it would take a long time to make an overall saving. Just be careful in making your choice.

A great price for a quality printer. The display screen makes things so much easier and all the buttons are at the front, some printers have them at the top, which is a problem if you have your printer sitting on a shelf. The original Epson inks are a little pricey for the tiny amount you get. It makes sense purchasing the XL cartridges, which have 10ml of ink. The included inks have 4ml, so they will deplete in no time at all.

Golden Review Award: 5 From Our UsersI will never buy another brand of printer than Epson again. During this past year, I have tried three other brands. I have returned all three of them due to faulty parts, not getting it to communicate with my computer, etc. I had an Epson years ago and it lasted a long time but when it was time to replace it, for some stupid reason, I chose another brand. Never again! This Epson was so easy to install and I was printing within minutes! I am a 70+-year-old woman and I have no patience for fiddly things that don’t work right away. Besides that, I am not really a computer whiz so if it doesn’t work, my knowledge is limited in how to fix it. No need. It worked right away – no problems. Highly recommend!!

The only downside the description states ready to print, but this isn’t the case as doesn’t come with ink cartridges so had to pay another thirty four pounds so not such a cheap printer as they state .

Bought to replace a failed printer / scanner. Works well and easy to setup and use via wireless or usb. Scanner works over wireless and provides great image quality. Print quality is good and supports printing on both sides of a page. Only downside is that the print cartridges don’t last very long and are costly to replace.

Golden Review Award: 6 From Our UsersBought this replace a Canon Pixma as I was looking for one that uses separate colour ink cartridges and this was significantly cheaper than the Canon.
Setting it up wasn’t easy as I use it primarily for a Windows 10 laptop so I couldn’t use the app and the instructions are next to useless. Mine came with a pin on a tiny piece of paper stuck deep inside the printer so it took an absolute age to find – why don’t they just stick in on the lid
Now that its going it prints decent quality prints pretty quickly if a bit noisy and clunky so all in all its a decent printer for the price.. Can’t say what the the ink use is like as I haven’t had it long enough

Golden Review Award: 8 From Our UsersThe fact that we still need to use printers in 2023 is beyond me but alas… If you need a printer at home that looks good and is compact enough to be placed anywhere, this is the one to get. It does print a little slow in the beginning, don’t lose patience with it. The more use it gets, the faster it goes. Always make sure you have extra black ink cartridges because that runs out the quickest.

Golden Review Award: 6 From Our UsersThe printer is great and I really like it. Prints very well and is a nice looking home printer but unless you sign up to be supplied with ink for a monthly charge then the price of ink cartridges is huge! My printer use is not standard month on month and I would find it difficult to negotiate what my usage would be….so I use compatible ink which works out very much cheaper, though still not cheap.

I love how easy it is to download an app on my tablet and smart phone. And it all works without a problem.
If i was to say one bad thing. It would be the price of the replacement ink. Epson wants to sell you a monthy plan for ink. But i dont use a printer that much to justify that. And you cant buy compatibles iv checked

Golden Review Award: 11 From Our UsersOverall it is okay. I have had Epsom printers like this one in the past, and my last one lasted me around 10 years – BUT – these new ones are a pain in the butt to set up as Epsom, in all of their wisdom, try too hard to tie you into buying their consumables, and you need an internet connection to do most of the setup – which is fine if you are savvy in the PC department but can be a nightmare if you are not.. I wasted a lot of time having to download drivers, unload them and re-download them again. Now that it is all working, I am happy with the print quality.

Golden Review Award: 57 From Our UsersI bought this printer to replace my aging Canon MG5753 as it seemed to be a like-for-like replacement, with a slightly higher specification and much faster print speed.

My first impression straight out of the box wasn’t that great as a slim plastic cover that fits beside the paper feed tray fell off whilst I was removing the printer from the protective bag. I soon got it clipped back on but it wasn’t a great start. There are a few slightly flimsy-feeling parts to this printer – that cover, the output tray and the console buttons, which resemble the kind of keys you got on a Sinclair ZX81 computer in the early 1980s. The display console itself can be tilted upwards to give you a better view of the screen and buttons.

The process of setting up the printer is very easy though and you definitely don’t need an app or a laptop to do so. In the interests of research, I did it without and the most fiddly part was inputting my Wi-Fi password using the cursors on the control panel. The Wi-Fi reception is excellent and better than my previous printer. After fitting the supplied ink cartridges, you need to align the print heads and it’s all done automatically as part of the setup process, which took about 15 minutes to complete. This does use a little bit of ink so it’s just as well that you get some included. On the subject of ink cartridges, you can buy ‘compatible’ ones (as I have) complete with chips that the printer will recognise. Whilst they cost roughly the same as Original Equipment ones, they’re high capacity so should last a lot longer. Remaining on the subject of ink, the heated piezo print head used on this printer apparently results in a small amount being deposited in an ‘ink receptacle’ which you need to unscrew and empty from time to time – perhaps an automatic job for whenever you change the cartridges.

Print quality really is great with smaller type faces being crisp and clear. Colour reproduction is vivid and should meet most domestic needs. The print speed doesn’t appear to be quite as fast as the maker claims but A4 b/w letters take 4-5 seconds to complete. The print queue lag is quite lengthy by comparison to my last printer and takes some 45 seconds before the printer begins after clicking ‘print.’ You have to physically turn on the printer to start printing as it doesn’t have an ‘auto-awake’ function if it’s left plugged in to the mains but switched off at the printer. However, you can leave it on standby for as long as you want by adjusting the relevant setting. The rest of the functions (scan, copy etc.) are easy to navigate, and the dual sided print function is accessed via the print manager function on your laptop or mobile app, or on the printer console if you’re using it to photocopy. The mobile app is pretty good and is easy to download and use. Besides using it to control print jobs, you can also do other things like check the ink level.

On the whole, this is a very good printer for the price. It’s been a while since I bought one for domestic use but this one does everything I need it to do and the print quality and speed is a definite step up from my old one.

Golden Review Award: 11 From Our UsersThis is a lot of printer for a small amount of money. The print quality is good (for an inkjet), speed OK, it’s double-sided and has a good App to keep things running. So what’s not to like? Two things; as I write there are no alternative ink providers, so you’re stuck with expensive Epson original 604/604XL cartridges. Secondly the guide holding the stack of paper only reaches halfway up the sheets, meaning that when left for a few days the paper stack droops and bends in half. Overall good value for money.

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersThis printer only works on Windows and, supposedly, Mac OS. You have to download the Epsom app, as there are no Windows drivers by default. I couldn’t install the Mac (app?) from the Epsom website. It is NOT supported under Linux.

Print quality is good for the price; the key point is separate cartridges for the ink, which should make things a little cheaper. Once you have the app, setup is pretty easy on a phone or a PC/Laptop/Tablet.

Golden Review Award: 9 From Our UsersI got this printer for my husband work. It was very easy to install and everything was clear. I found even how to set up video online. The only thing to understand is ink refill. There are many compatible inks available on Amazon and I never understand which one is the right one. The colour inks are divided individually so you just change the one that is consumed. In the end I found it cost efficient than the whole in one type.
