This is exellent External CD Drive!
The drive is compatible with both Apple and Windows operating systems so I can use it with most of my devices and it’s easy to use.
The drive is also incredibly user-friendly, and installation is effortless with the necessary software included.
The Antika External CD DVD Drive is a great purchase for anyone looking for a reliable and easy-to-use external CD/DVD drive.
I’ve only used it as a dvd player so far which is the purpose I ordered it for, so I can’t comment on the other features. It is not the most quiet but the movie is still watchable so it doesn’t bother me too much as any dvd port will be a little noisy.

We recently upgraded our laptop and totally overlooked the fact that cd/dvd drives now seem defunct on modern models.
We store lots of our old photos and documents on dvds so we needed an external drive to retain access to these.
This little drive is perfect for the job, it’s super slimline and easy to use, fits in the pocket of the laptop case with ease so always to hand.
But likewise would take up minimal space on your desk if needed.
Loads and writes slightly faster than the old integrated one on the old laptop too!
I got a similar external drive like this for a laptop a while ago and have to say this one is equally good. I do not see any difference between the two and it seems to be working and that it is all I am expecting from it. It is slightly heavier than our other one but since I have no intention of carrying it around it is fine by me.
This portable dvd rw drive is great for using with modern computers and laptops. Many modern ones do not come equipped with a disc drive meaning you rely on transferring old documents manually or having to completely redo them. This allows you to seamlessly move your files on a rewrite-able disc without any issue. It also allows you to run programmes you have purchased in hard copy form ahead of repurchasing them digitally. As this is a dvd rw you are able to also burn files to disc as a back up if needed
A great addition if you have disc based programs or files or want to back things up in this modern age.
Very good plug and play DVD/CD reader and burner drive. It connects via USB-A or USB-C. If you’re running it on an older computer or laptop and your USB ports don’t have enough power, it also comes with a power to USB cable. It was instantly recognised on both my laptops – one running Windows 10 and the other running Windows 11. It is slimline and lightweight, so I keep it in my work laptop pouch. If you have lots of memories and files backed up on DVD and would like to access them on newer laptops which don’t have DVD drives, this is for you. If your DVD drive has broken and you can’t afford or be bothered to fix it, this is for you.
Amazing value for money. With most, if not all, modern laptops not including a CD drive, the Antika External CD DVD Drive is a god send. I had a few old CDs that I dug out of the attic and wanted to show to my son. The drive connected to my Windows laptop without any complaint and within minutes was ready to use.
Again, for the price, this external CD drive is excellent. You can also play DVDs, and also write discs. BlueRay is not supported though.

This comes with a non standard USB cable, power cable and unreadable instructions.
The instructions are completely unreadable to me. I didn’t really need them but the text is so small and blurry, it wouldn’t harm to make them a little bigger.
The data cable has a non standard end which is annoying, I’ve seen other drives which just use a USB C to USB C cable which had to be better for the user.
Apart from the gripes above this is an excellent drive. I’ve not used it for burning yet but it’s amazing that you can get a fully featured drive like this for the price.
The build quality is good, it’s not particularly noisy in operation and it’s auto recognised as a DVD drive by Windows 10. Speed seems fine but I’m only going to use it occasionally so speed really isn’t an issue.
The additional power cable allows you to add external power from another USB source if your device can’t provide enough power. When I used the drive on my laptop the extra power wasn’t needed, it worked fine with just the data cable.
At the time of review this was under 15 with a voucher which is very good value.
Sturdy and compact item. Great for use with lightweight laptops and fits into carry cases. Bought for watching dvd’s on laptop and does the job well. Good value for money.
I needed a good, affordable CD player.
For myself, this was a great option.
It’s pretty straightforward, appears to be well-made, and functions right away when plugged into a computer; at least, it did with my Macbook.
Any CD I insert into it is read while it is silent.
I like it; it’s a good CD player.
Slimline. Robust and with all of the required cables you’ll need. This is a really handy thing to have in your laptop bag for those times when ‘physical media’ is still the best way to go. It’s not quite as quick as I seem to remember – though memory does have a tendency to do that.. But it is reliable and quick enough. Top class if you ever need something that’ll do this, and the ability to plug it straight into a more modern USB C equipped machine futureproofs it really well.

A very good and nice look cd drive. Much better quality than I thought it would be. Price at 20.99 I would say is fair. Ideal to play old cd discs laying around.
I have so many old cd’s that I can play anymore as I don’t have a cd player, I was sceptical that this would work but as soon as I closed the tray with the disc in it the box popped up and I was able to play the music on my macbook and download it. Particularly useful as it has a usbC connector as well as usbA.
Very impressed, seems like a solid piece of equipment at a very reasonable price. Now to to find all of my old cd’s.

Pues veamos ,tiene un buen tacto no es como he ledo por all de que es plsticos de mala calidad ,es cierto el cable es extremadamente corto ,pero si no te importa demasiado tenerlo tan cerca ,el DVD Funciona perfectamente es verdad que hace ruido ,pero vamos a ver es un reproductor normal y corriente ,tambin he visto mucho el “no lee bien los DVD” por qu los que estan eeditadow y distribuidos en Espaa tienen como regin 2 ,pero este aparato viene por defecto en regin 3 ,lo cambias y no hay mayor problema,en general el precio esta bien y la calidad es la que debe se
Mi permette di utilizzare supporti che non potevo utilizzare col PC.
Ich habe das Laufwerk verwendet um an meinen Laptop – welcher kein eigenes besitzt – extern eine CD einzulesen. Probleme gab es dabei keine.
Vorteile:
– Laufwerk ist verhltnismig leise
– die CD wurde reibungslos erkannt
– das Design wirkt hochwertig, durch die scheinbare Aluminiumbrstung auf der Oberflche
Nachteile:
– das Kabel knnte etwas lnger sein – (durch die Krze – ca. 26cm – kann es jedoch unter dem Laufwerk unsichtbar eingeklemmt werden)
Neutral:
– das Laufwerk fhrt nicht automatisch aus, sondern springt bei Knopfdruck auf und muss dann hndisch zur vollen Lnge ausgezogen werden
Alles in allem ein sehr solides/funktionales Produkt.

Dovrebbe vederlo senza problemi.
First choices of player software did not work. Microsoft store better than googling software
All of the machines I have are Apple Mac based and I found myself needing the use of a CD reader/writer, to import a catalogue of old CD’s and data to a mac.
This unit from Antika, worked impressively well, straight away. No drivers or software required, just plug & play. Very heppy with the price, connectivity options and performance.
Muy fcil de instalar solo tienes que conectar al USB y empezar a funcionar, el nivel de ruido es imperceptible; prcticamente silencioso.
Lo utilizo para poder escuchar CDs de audio en el PC, para instalar programas y drivers desde CDs, tambin es til para copias de seguridad en DVDs y elaborar CDs de msica con calidad.
Muy recomendable.
Immediately impressed by packaging and smart appearance . I was unsure how compatible it would be with my MAC Studio but as delighted it was immediately recognised. I was able to read/write cds and play commercial DVDs. A really useful addition.
I was worried that this drive would not work with my MacBook Pro 16″.
However, the drive works fine (I’ve only used it to rip CD’s to iTunes).
I didn’t need the external power connection, but it’s good to know it’s there in case I need to power the drive separately in the future.
I was surprised as it seems a very sturdy and stable device.
I did not use windows, I used Mac using a terminal command I found and it worked brilliantly.
So for compatibility and how powerful this device seemed when using I wasn’t expecting but from the reviews I understood this was one of the best quality – value on here.
So bought and I’m very happy I did.

Una volta arrivato ho dovuto solo inserire la usb ed stato subito riconosciuto dal pc senza alcuna installazione da parte mia di conseguenza ho potuto iniziare sin da subito ad usarlo. Consigliatissimo!

Peccato che nella descrizione venga menzionato come compatibile con Windows 10, ma il manuale ( un po’ striminzito ) indica solo la compatibilit con versioni precedenti e suggerisce di caricare programmi per la funzione burner.
Non preoccupatevi troppo, in realt io l’ho usato con Windows 10 e funziona. Quando lo si collega, non lo si vede come disco, ma se mettete un CD/DVD sul piatto, compare l’unit e l’elenco dei file.
Anche se il pacco non stato consegnato alla villetta D ma sotto le cassette postali di tutte le villette, comunque tutto bene.

The attached HDMI cable is great. I used this to upload some CDs to itunes on my new laptop that doesn’t have its own dvd drive and it was super easy and now I have a way to watch DVDs if I ever need to. It seems to be fairly solid and I would definitely recommend it.
