FAQ

1. Why can’t find an SSD hard disk and read/write data?

The newly bought SSD generally needs to be formatted in Disk Management before use. lt is recommended to format in the windows operating system and use NTFS format.

2. Does this come with screws, brackets, or spacers?

Since each case/system may be a little different, our standard retail package only contains the bare drive.

Why the capacity displayed from the PC is smaller than the original capacity?

Actual usable space may be less than the total storage capacity listed due to Deci mal measurement used to represent usable capacity of the SSD.

Actual capacity calculation: Total storage x 0.93.

Factory default setting :1GB=1000MB=1000000KB=1000000000B

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersI was a little wary about buying a cheap Chinese drive I had never heard of but searched the net and found good reports about Fanxiang and after deciding that most well known drives would probably also be made in china went ahead and ordered it.
I fit it into my Asus mini PC and started to transfer Tb’s of files from my old drive to this, I really couldn’t believe that the files had copied over it was so fast. Just hope it has a long life.

Golden Review Award: 5 From Our UsersI bought the 1TB version to upgrade an ancient Thinkpad X220. This had been upgrade previously, several years ago, with a 120GB Kingston. The laptop is now used by my daughter who wanted to install certain software and keep and archive of her favourite movies—hence a bump in storage. Now, I usually buy Crucial as they offer powerful performance without being the most expensive on the market. As I didn’t want to spend a lot on such an old laptop, I took a punt on this

Cloning the drive was easy with the free version of DiskGenius and a cheapo USB enclosure I had lying around. Once installed in the machine, it worked identically—possibly a touch faster than before.

The ThinkPad lives on once more.

Golden Review Award: 7 From Our UsersThis is my second Fanxiang S101 SSD,. Works just fine and saves to full capacity. Remember that you may have to know how to set up a hard drive partition and format it before the PC will recognize the hard drive.
If you install it into a PC or laptop without a partition the Op-system may not recognize the new HDD.
I used a working laptop and a Hard Drive Docking Station, USB 3.0 to SATA Dual Bay External HDD Dock Caddy Reader sold by SSK and dispatched by Amazon. I was able to set up the new SSD partition and format it before installing and all was OK. I noticed from the reviews that some have returned the drives as defective because they were not recognized by the system. Could this have been the reason??
I can recommend this SSD as a good, working and cost effective storage devise from Amazon.

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersI was skeptical of this off-brand Chinese model at first. But desperate for a new 2TB SSD. So far so good after 2 months. Turns out this company is legit. I mean, I figured they are made in close proximity to other SSD factories in the same province in China. Plus the YouTube reviews were all positive. I’m buying my gear from them from now on and pray the price stays super inexpensive!!!! With chinese products, you either get a knock-off or strike gold. This is GOLD fellow computer nerds!

Samsung SSD drive were my go to. Bad experience and poor performance with SD drive from other manufactures. However, the review convinced me to give this a try. Very please with excellent performance for have the cost. If drive continues to perform like it has, I will definitely by int he future.

Golden Review Award: 7 From Our UsersI thought my existing HDD was slowly failing so thought i’d try transferring Windows to an SSD and speed my PC up at the same time.
It was easy to install and to get Windows to recognize but couldn’t for the life of me get Windows to boot from the new drive. I’ve managed to clone windows to the SSD but can’t get it to boot from there, it’s beyond my capabilities.
My advice if you’re trying to do the same would be to spend a bit more and get a drive that comes with cloning software at least then you might be able to get some assistance.
On a plus note now I’ve moved everything except windows off my C: drive it’s booting up quicker with no errors so I’ve sort of solved my problem anyway

For the price, this 2TB SSD is great. It has a fast read/ write speed, and was easily formatted and installed/ cloned with windows to upgrade my pc. Will be buying again.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersThis 2TB SATA SSD arrived yesterday and I used Acronis True Image 2019 to clone my Windows11Pro Boot C Drive with it as the destination.. It took a while ( over an hour) to copy over the 1.5 GB of data on my C: drive but it did it successfully and I also pulled that source M2 drive out to prove I could boot Win11Pro and all my stuff looked Ok before I removed it to use it as a BACKUP incase the M2 NVME were to ever fail. Overall .. I’m happy.

Golden Review Award: 24 From Our UsersBelieve it! Getting 2TB for less than the price of 1TB! I bought two. Oh, to the haters who question Chinese Products….I’d rather buy decent/quality products from Chinese companies, rather than the typical “American” company that exploits Chinese labor while pocketing the money from inflated prices. Besides, I remember which companies (regardless of market, from tech to transportation) were rallying to suppress culture, erase our heritage, and silence free speech; none were Chinese.

The two SSD units are each in external housings at different computers, and there are no problems with storage, retrieval, or anything else. If any issues occur, I’ll update. But I’ve been trying to really put them through their paces. I don’t plan on deliberately trying to wear them out (I don’t have that much data; even ripping CDs in WAV format wouldn’t touch these, and never mind filling them up, let alone erasing-and-repeating an additional 499 times). When any HDDs croak, I will replace them with Fanxiangs. And I always backup everything, and these allow redundancy at an unbelievable price.

With time I’ve upgraded about everything in my old PC….the processor, the graphics card, the RAM….but I had still been chugging along on the original HDD. Recently my PC started slowing down, taking longer and longer to start up or complete daily tasks….

I decided to upgrade to an SSD, and this was the absolute best value I could find. I ordered the drive, copied my files over, and installed it without a hitch.

THIS FEELS LIKE A BRAND NEW COMPUTER!!!

It’s faster than it was when it was brand new. Love it. I highly recommend if you’re trying to get some extra life out of your old PC.

Golden Review Award: 5 From Our UsersThis hard drive has been working fine for more than a month. When I first got it, I noticed that it was really hot when it was transferring data. I could actually smell it.

I have it mounted in an old gaming desktop that has a fan on the hard drives, and I haven’t had any problems with it. My point is that I would only use the Fanxiang 2TB SSD in applications that have adequate cooling.

As stated earlier, it has worked fine with a fan on it. Also, the transfer speeds are really good by SSD standards.

Great value for the money, was easy to setup, jus need to partition and format and it’s ready to go. Replaced my mechanical hdds on two of my computers since I have replaced my other drives with either ssd’s or m.2 ssd drives. Might order a 3rd jus for backup in the near future.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersMy usae for this ssd is to replace my HDDs which contain many shows/movies I have. They plug into an usb 3 dock. Out of many ssd brands I’ve tried, this one works ok. So far it hasn’t got abnormally hot. And in the usb 3 dock it runs as if it was an usb 2 drive, so not the fastest there (but I won’t be writing alot to it). For the value this is ok for storage or backups.

Golden Review Award: 15 From Our UsersI have an older desktop pc (6-7 years old). Everything was running fine except for the HDD. It was starting to respond slower and slower, running at 100%, and was possibly on it’s last legs. I didn’t want to spend a lot on an old pc, but I wanted to do something that could extend the life of the pc for a year or two. I started looking at SSD drives, but found that 2TB SSD drives could be a bit costly. I did some searching and found this Fanxiang S101 2TB SSD SATA III drive on Amazon. It was exactly what I was looking for. High storage / low cost. Using the Fenlink 2/5″ to 3.5″ SSD to HDD converter that I bought on Amazon, it was easy to install the SSD drive into one of the spare 3.5″ bays on my old pc.

The box only comes with the SSD drive. So, you may need to purchase a SATA III cable so that you can connect the drive to your pc’s motherboard. Also, you’ll need to download software in order to clone your old HDD / partition the new SSD drive. Free software is available online, just search for it on Google.

I’ve only had the drive installed and working for 1 week, but so far it’s working perfectly. My old pc is now running WAY faster and seems as fast or faster then when I originally bought it. Time will tell if this SSD drive will stand the test of time. However, it does come with a 3 year warranty. Customer support is fairly quick to respond to support emails, etc.

Final Thoughts: If you’re looking for a low cost / high storage SSD drive, I highly suggest this one.

I did buy this with upgraded ram, new latop battery, and of course this SSD. I do love it myself since i did want to go with the more faster version but still have the HardDrive look and honestly i wished i done have it before. Still good and my old laptop is up and running again like it’s new.

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersNot the fastest, but I used two to create a 4TB RAID 0 drive for my media, which is plenty fast. Worked like a charm. Only problem was that Amazon delivered them to the wrong pick-up point and it took me three days to sort the mess ou

Golden Review Award: 9 From Our UsersPS4 load times were tedious to say the least. As I’m undecided about a PS5, was looking for a performance upgrade that made sense. At its current price point, the Fanxiang is at least half of a comparable “name” brang (e.g. Samsung), so this seemed like the SSD to try. Following the upgrade instructions, the installation process was very easy, though it does require 2 separate flash drives. Note the abilty to backup your applications will depend on the total size of the apps you have installed. I my case I was able to get away with using a 256M flash drive for a full backup. Total backup and restore time was approximatty 6 hours. After intallation, the Fanxiang drive made a huge improvement in load times. Longevity TBD, but drive is covered by a three year warranty. Results exceded my expections.
