Bought via Amazon Warehouse and had a great deal. Bought as a gift for my daughter who says they are amazing. The straighteners stopped working after a year. I was out of warranty with Amazon and contacted GHD (I provided the s:n etc) who replaced them with no quibble. They are an expensive item so it’s good to know they are covered by warranty and that the warranty actually works.

I got these to replace my very reliable 10 year old straighteners that were also GHD, but this one doesn’t have the same feel. It gets to heat fast, the barrel is a great shape for styling, I look like I’ve had a blow out everytime I use them! But the button isn’t consistent, I feel conscious the button felt tacky from the day I got it and it won’t be lasting me the same as my old ones. I think for the cost these are nothing special, they have the heat and the shape, but frankly so do other brands now. The classic GHD quality and feel isn’t in these stylers in my opinion. It doesn’t feel fluid and reliable.

Slightly more rounded than the old gold version, allowing for less dragging when curling hair. The temperature is set so you are unable to adjust, but this is done to help protect your hair. These are the same ones which my hairdresser uses and recommended to me.

Having used GHDs for years I did consider trying Cloud 9 however in reading some of the reviews of this product and always liking GHD I decided to get this product.
It didn’t disappoint. My older GHDs were getting worn and I could tell it was taking longer and my hair was not staying straight very long.
This product glides through your hair and and is much lighter than my old GHDs. Leaving my hair shiny.
I haven’t used these to curl my hair yet but can see from videos it is easy and will try.
If you are a GHD lifer these are great.

Great value for money. Bought for my partner who has previously used the original GHD’s for years and has said that these are the best ones that she has used. I explained to her the complaints that were listed on here such as hairs getting caught in the straightener and complaints about the noise they make when turning on. My partner cannot comprehend these complaints and are as as she is concerned are false. No hairs have been caught in the end gaps and would suggest fault with the user rather than the straightener itself. The turning on noise is no issue either. The straighteners have been invaluable in saving time getting ready with a quick heating up time and easier glide

Bought my partner these for a present, she was looking at the model below, but as she has thin very fine hair, she needed a good quality straightener without burning or ruining her hair.

They do a much better job than her previous one and are the best straighteners she has ever had. What is handy, they come with a case for the tongs so when they are hot and you put them down, you don’t need to worry about them setting fire to the carpet.

For hair straightening this product is brilliant. But the gap at the end of the plates catches your hair if you’re not careful and snaps it. I am amazed that such a great product is let down by this kind of issue. Very strange. It can be avoided but really it shouldn’t be happening at all. I will keep the straighteners and be careful as they are great in all other aspects but will be letting Ghd know. I see others have found the same thing ..

Iv always wanted a GHD straighter, but I couldn’t afford it. Now that I’m in a great job with a steady income I decided to treat myself to a good high quality straightener for my frizzy Asian hair.

It arrived promptly, well packaged and in great condition. I only managed to open it today and use it and i instantly fell in love.

I have thick frizzy/ stubborn hair. It’s medium length. Iv been using TRESemm keratin smooth 230 for 7 years now and it takes me over 1 hour to straighten my hair after a shower. This is to get it fully straight without any bumps.

This GHD Platinum + did the job well under 20 mins. I got each strand straight and with a smooth finish with one stroke. I section my hair in two parts, top and bottom. And I got around each section in under 10 mins.

I am well pleased with this purchase. Best early Christmas treat to myself ever.

Girls, if your contemplating on buying this, trust me I rarely write reviews for a product I buy on Amazon but this is worth sharing. Go for it. It’s the best straightener out there to date!!! TREAT yourself

Only had this product a few weeks – but so far, so good. My only negative comment is that there are grooves next to the hotplates that are always catching my hair, and to get the strands out, they often end up breaking off. It often hurts as you can’t see your hair catching when straightening the back of your head… Design at this price should be better in my opinion.

I’m one of those people that doesn’t normally leave reviews but when something is that good you feel you need to share it!

I bought these straighteners as an upgrade to my GHD V Gold straighteners & wow what an upgrade. The significant difference for me can be broken down into 2 very simple main features – the new hot plates which frankly cause the straighteners to just glide through your hair – no pulling & certainly no catching hair in the unit itself of which I’d seen reviews saying this had happened. Secondly the body of the straighteners stays cool, which is a great feature. I will point out my Gold straighteners were max (wide plates) and the platinum+ are the standard slimmer plates. I instantly felt more control & could get closer to the roots this avoiding the ‘ridge’ at the top & back of my hair.

I have long thick naturally curly hair & 30 mins of straightening, which is around the same length of time I would straighten my hair, and my hair was straight, glossy & felt amazing. No frizz & my hair stayed straight all day, in fact the straightest I’ve ever known it, in fact I didn’t even use any product on my hair. For *coughs loudly* years I’ve struggled with thick frizzy hair and this I can honestly say is a game changer!! I was reluctant to spend more money when I had a perfectly good set of straighteners but I am so glad I have!

I also took the Prime deal to pay over 5 months – it’s a no brainer!

My stylist recommended me to buy this brand and it took me a while to embrace the idea of paying this much for a product, but now I wish I did it earlier! This hair straightener is amazing. It heats up in 10 seconds and lets you know with a sound when it turns on and off. My hair is has a lot of frizz and with this wonder, I was able to tame it in less than 10 minutes. The product comes in a very stylish box and provides a colour leaflet that explains how to best use the product for perfectly straight hair. Finally, it also comes with a rubber cap to protect yourself and the straightener after use, which also facilitates storages. My hair looks sleek and smooth and I cannot be happier!

Having bought these to replace my Scarlet edition GHDs that are nearly 10 years old and, understandably, starting to get a bit worn, I am over the moon! I really didn’t expect there to be much difference but these are so worth the price, the plates are slippery smooth and heat up quicker than it takes me to run a brush through my medium length hair. My hair is very thick and naturally wavy/curly – and not very obedient, but I had it looking and feeling like a sheet of silk in about 3 minutes. I bought these because since my first set of GHDs around 20 years ago nothing comes close in quality, but I was quite sceptical of the promised 20% more shine. However, I can’t argue with the results. My hair (washed after swimming, a steam room and sauna session then hastily blow dried after using just a shampoo bar, no conditioner!) looked like something out of an advert, I was swinging my hair in front of my mirror so surprised by the shine on it!

If you’re hesitating about paying the extra for the platinum version I highly recommend you do it, especially if you’re considering sacrificing the higher spec model for one of the colour editions (they do look pretty, but I’d rather spend my money on the results rather than an on trend colour version of a tool that’s kept in my bedroom drawers) If the previous GHDs I’ve owned are to judge by it’s an investment for at least a decades worth of unbeatable sleekly styled hair. I have also kept the box it comes in – I actually still have the large wooden padded red satin box that came with my Scarlet edition years ago, but this one is still quite sturdy and large enough to store sectioning clips, heat pad etc. Now that I’ve given myself a YouTube crash course on how to create salon worthy curls and waves I’m very excited to see the results I can accomplish with this!
