The phone arrived promptly and was exactly as described. Not a mark on it and the set up worked smoothly as you would expect from a brand new device. Seems to work well and extremely happy with the purchase at such a good price.

    Excellent piece of meat.
Clear sharp display, pretty good pictures and it doesn’t faff around when put to work.
Internet is quick (as quick as it gets from your supplier of course) video playing it’s a breeze, battery pretty good life.
At this price, it was perfick.

Love everything about the phone but disappointing not to have face recognition, because the fingerprint is slow to unlock quite often.

So having paid the premium for what should have been a NEW phone, I received a second hand unit, that’s been cleaned and serviced. I originally bought one last month for myself, which was all sealed in a bag, so got another as a present for my daughter, only to find it with a sticky over the screen and no bag. I feel a little cheated having paid a higher price over the first one, and I’m not the first to open the box.

Yes, this smartphone is awesome. I love it, even though it’s bigger and heavier than I expected. I bought a leather case for it, and now I can barely put it in my pocket, but still I think the phone is fantastic.

    Pros:

    – Great battery life. I turned off all the unnecessary notifications once I got it and I charged it on Saturday evening, today is Monday evening and I still have 50% battery life, but I have to be honest, for those 2 days I didn’t use it that much, I’ve sent maybe a few text messages, opened internet browser a couple of times, read a few pages of an e-book, took a few photos, adjusted some settings and mostly that’s it, but still, 50% of battery left? This is amazing.
    – It’s very fast and responsive
    – Has a great camera

    Cons:

    – It’s quite big. With a leather case, it barely fits in the pocket.

Other than that, it is just a good smartphone for a decent price.

Bought this as a replacement for a Samsung. Had many over the years . This was easy to set up ( even did it myself ) . A bit nervous to start with , but after following a few simple online instructions. Everything loaded up , and as a bonus it sent back ALL the pictures that were in the cloud. ( I never bothered to upgrade and pay for extra storage) . Brilliant.
Had it 3 months .. So far Battery life is good . Pictures are superb. Night/ Late evening indoor shots are very clear. Great price and a solid buy . Hope it lasts .

I have been using it for about two months now and I have zero complaints. The camera is fantastic and the battery life has been great. I work 12 hour shifts and my phone is still above 50 percent at the end of the night.
For what I use it for, this phone has been great.

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersI’ve heard issues with the fingerprint reader, one solution is to put 3 -5 of those fingerprints as the same finger, the finger you use the most and it has made the fingerprint reader so much faster.

I love everything about this phone so fa

Golden Review Award: 14 From Our UsersThis mobile looks good and feels good. Transferring data from my old phone was quick and simple using the USB-C cable that comes in the box. But then the work started. First the phone had to update to the latest Android 12. Then it set about updating to Android 13. In total these two updates needed around 3Gbytes of data to be downloaded so give yourself time for this process.

Then there was the matter of getting my 2FAs sorted. The trick with these is to realise that despite having removed the SIM from your old phone, the authenticator app on it is still working. I wish someone had given me that tip at the outset. I cottoned on to this the hard way, with lots of experimentation and getting stuck into verification loops before I realised that there had to be a simple solution!

Having invested time in the setup, I am now very pleased with the result. This is a responsive phone with a great camera (I’m still learning its ins and outs) and a decent battery. The through the screen fingerprint sensor works well for me. The trick seems to be to press your finger to the screen rather than just touch it. Android 13 is more colourful and is much better at copying and pasting onetime passwords than its predecessor.

This is a phone that feels gorgeous to touch, it is so smooth and sleek, I find myself almost caressing it when I pick it up. And this is the one minor issue I have with it. Being so smooth it slips when placed on a sloping surface, I’ve fixed that with a simple case and also purchased an Amazon Basics wireless charger for its convenience.

Golden Review Award: 6 From Our UsersThis is an excellent phone as you would expect of a Google Pixel device. However it seems to have one issue. The in-screen fingerprint reader despite being thoroughly configured does not seem to do a good job at letting you into the phone. It can take several attempts and it’s usually quicker to log in with a PIN code. Unusually, when the phone is already unlocked the fingerprint reader seems to be much more sensitive and allows you into apps on the phone such as banking apps that require biometric authentication on the first try. This makes little sense to me and it’s a bit of an annoyance hence the four stars rather than five.

I had an older HTC and this is a massive upgrade at a good price. Great camera, larger screen, really good battery life and way faster. The fingerprint reader may be flaky or not work at all if you put a screen protector on so check on those before you buy one.

Always resisted Google and using phones to do anything that my laptop would do. I bought this initially due to the camera reviews as I like taking photos on the go. It didn’t disappoint. My new laptop is now almost redundant as the phone does almost everything that I need. Even able to connect a portable memory drive to download or upload media via the usb c.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI have been using Google phones since the old Nexus 5 and always been happy with the phone overall but extremely happy with the camera, which is the main thing for me. It needs a face unlock and the finger unlock is not that good if you use a screen lens cover, which I do but other than that, a real good phone and that camera keeps on getting better and better – who needs a DSLR!

I’m happy with the phone performance. But unhappy with the battery. If they provide better battery like 5000 mah it would be good I feel. Apart from that camera all the sensors etc are good

Moving from a 4A to the 6 – its a great phone still with the legendary battery life i wanted. Easy to transfer settings, was up and running in no time. The fingerprint reader is not as good as the rear one on the 4a but its not terrible either, I have no idea why they changed it from the great rear one. Screen is bright and very clear, camera works very well.

Golden Review Award: 16 From Our UsersFirst of all, so glad buying it off Amazon worked out so well. Had my doubts. It was on sale at the time and was cheaper than buying direct which I would have preferred. I did buy the charger direct from Google however as Amazon did not have the newer version (30w) versus old (2021 16w).

I haven’t fully tested face recognition. Fingerprint reader, considering they are now under the screen itself it’s pretty good. My previous phone (Huawei p30lite) had it on the back and that was really good, but it was either very accurate and fast or it was guessing and just accepting close enough. Hard to know. Pixel works better without a screen protector. I just installed a thick tempered glass one and the reader is less sensitive but I don’t mind. I press to use codes.

Battery life. People complained about this alot and it’s usually with any phone not just the pixel range. It’s usually the First thing that is mentioned. What you need to do is wait at least a month before making a comment on battery to be fair. Phones have to learn from you. My experience = The first 2 weeks before I could get a cover for it, it would get very hot just using the phone. I’m not a heavy user. I don’t sit on my phone for more than an hour doing something. But at the time it was very hot for simple and short activities, even 5 mins on Instagram it would be uncomfortable to hold. It would get hot charging too. After the 2 weeks it started to lessen noticeably. It’s been a month since I got the phone and I’ve a cover now also. It’s adapting very well. For me the battery lasts ages now where as before I was only getting half of what it gives now. It’s started to learn and I manage my settings well to preserve the best life out of it.

    Camera
    Google’s UI
I received android 13 about 3 weeks after getting the phone. Loving the improvements. This also helped with battery life no doubt and various other issues that are commonly mentioned about the phone.

    Speed
    Screen quality
    Functionality
    Customisation

Lack of ability to uninstall apps that you don’t want that are clearly unrelated to maintaing the OS or phone itself is a bit annoying but this is for any phone. Was annoying on my Huawei too.

All new phones come without an SD card slot now which I find a bit disappointing. My old Huawei had the slot bundled with the SIM card which was a great use of space. That phone was also a tad thinner than the pixel.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersA very capable little phone for the price, I’m still getting used to it’s small size coming from a Huawei Mate 20X 5G which was 7.2 inches!, The main camera on the Pixel 6 is one of the very best you can get on any smartphone right now, the ultra wide camera could be wider tho!, Night sight works brilliantly for low light shots, and 4K video and audio is outstanding, Battery life is very good and the 33W charge is pretty speedy if not the fastest around. On to the finger print reader….. Yeah it does suck! I would give it a hit ratio of about 75% there really is no excuse for having such a bad finger print reader in 2022 especially on a flagship phone, apart from that issue you won’t find a more premium phone with amazing camera at this price point!, I’d say buy it now or hold on a little longer for the Pixel 7 in hope it’s got a better finger print reader.

Golden Review Award: 13 From Our UsersSo, I’m definitely not a tech person. I researched the differences between the top Samsungs, iPhone 13 and Google pixel (mainly camera related). For the price/what you get, decided for pixel 6. I don’t regret it, however I was expecting better.

All this reviews talking about the fingerprint recognition being super slow or not working? unfortunately are all true. I thought it was something only the nerdy people could tell, but even my ignorant ass can see that the fingerprint unlock is quite bad and irritating

I don’t particularly like the default saturation or temperature on the camera, but you can edit that before taking the picture so that’s fine.

Lastly, my phone is 2 months old (the first month I was having issues with getting an eSIM – problem not related to the phone – so I didn’t really use my phone for a month) and it has had glitches several times already, and it’s not because I had a lot of apps opened (I remember one of the glitches I only had Facebook and Instagram opened).

Lastly, it gets REALLY hot without even being in the sun, maybe it was made to be used only in cold countries cause it was used this week in Portugal and was literally burning in my hand without being on the sun at any time.

Again, as an absolutely ignorant person I think for the price it was it shouldn’t have these issues at all (bad fingerprint recognition, glitches and getting hot), but it’s definitely a good phone and I don’t regret buying it.

Golden Review Award: 7 From Our UsersThis was an upgrade from a pixel 2 XL.
I wish they’d done this phone in a smaller version but overall it’s a good phone, the camera is the standout feature for me.

Massive negative is you need the proper Google charger otherwise it either charges slowly or does a strange thing where it’ll constantly do the screen flash when you first plug it in to charge, over and over. The Google plug is 25, it should really be included.

The battery life is good and will last me all day with standard use but I expected a little better.

I’ve had no issues with the front finger print unlock like many have.

Phone is fast but the pixel 7 is out soon, I’d recommend waiting.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI’m an Android phone user and was looking for an upgrade to my existing one. I’m really liking this Google Pixel 6. It’s a large phone but I didn’t find it problematic. Even with a case on (and I felt I needed one because I worried that, without it, the phone would slip out of my hand) it feels thinner than my last phone. The camera does protrude and takes getting used to. I tried a screen protector but found that it really showed down the responsiveness of the touch screen particularly with some apps so removed it quickly. Other reviewers have said that the battery life wasn’t great but I found the opposite. I haven’t needed to charge the phone between overnight charges and the battery life is better than I’ve experienced for years with other phones.

The camera is definitely the main selling point and rightfully so. There are a number of modes including motion (to blur the background while focusing on a moving object), photo sphere, night mode, panorama etc. The photo quality is amazing though I did find that the colours seem really saturated even in natural light.

The sound quality was excellent and the volume was adequate but I rarely listen to anything just through the phone speakers. There isn’t a headphone jack but I’m not sure any new phones have them anyway. Bluetooth connections are quick and easy to set up. I have a few Google devices at home and the phone automatically connected to them – giving quick access to device control through the pull down menu which is handy.

A tiny niggle – the ‘at a glance’ and ‘Google’ taskbars are fixed to the home page. I don’t use either routinely so it feels like a waste of space. Not a deal-breaker though. All in all its a thumbs up from me!

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersGoogle Pixel 6 is a great flagship smartphone and it could be near to the 100% GREAT if the constant freezing in this Smartphone was not present. When you are playing a high image quality and you start getting many notifications and you try to see one of the notifications and dismiss them your game or the smartphone freezes and/or when it decided to close your current app/game (like when you have a crash in your app). I am coming from a Huawei P30 Pro and I really missed the Face recognition, Fingerprints are easy to setup and sometimes you need to hold your finger for more than 3 seconds to read it properly or try a different position. The cameras feature are great. It does a quick shot without any blurry image and the recoding is also nice. The night mode gets activated automatically when you don’t have enough light to make the picture clear enough, another feature I like was the timer – you can just hit the option button and it let you to set it without leaving the “Camera” section – When recording I experienced an issue that I faced back in Pixel 3 (my last pixel before this one) – It suddenly stopped recording and there was a message saying (part of the video has been not recorded) and your frustration starts.
I am a huge fan of Vanilla Android and I will always be (this makes your phone more clean) but with this amount of bugs still in due course to be FIXED isn’t great for a really potential Smartphone that Google could have everything to beat all.
I really dislike the fact that it does not come with a Wall charger – The price should be cheaper if the charger does not come with it? Or at least give the discount (25/30) so we can use the discount money to buy the charger – The cable is usb type C o usb type C – When you charge using the Wall charger 30W I didn’t feel that fast as I used to have in my Huawei P30 Pro – I felt that it could be a a little faster than actually is – I liked the way how Google built this smartphone, it is very sturdy with no plastic. The audio seems very good with Stereo. Automatic speech and live caption is a great feature in this phone as well.

Golden Review Award: 47 From Our UsersThis is the first time I’ve been back to a google branded phone since the G1, I have had numerous HTC, Samsung, Xiaomi, etc.. phones but now I’m back on the Pixel 6 and so far I’ve been fairly impressed.

So where to start, on opening the box I was a little disappointed at the lack of accessories, there is only a usb-c cable and no wall charger although I don’t really need it. Surprisingly though I normally like the crappy thin case and screen protectors you normally get as I use them as a ‘get me by’ until I get a feel for what replacements I want, but alas none!

First impressions, the glossy back is very nice and has that premium feeling, the sides are smooth and feel cold like metal, but the glass front feels strange it might just be me and all in my mind but it feels like it flexes a little when pressing, which although is no problem is not something I am used to. Now although the phone looks great even with the big lump on the back housing the camera I would advise the purchase of as case ASAP as the phone is super smooth and therefore slippery, I felt like I could drop it at any moment until I put it in a nice case.

Setup was super simple and I was guided at every step, the only thing slowing me down was the extended number of system updates I needed to apply. But going by some of the previous more negative reviews I was quite pleased to update to the latest software version.

The part I was most worried about based on other reviews was the fingerprint unlock, well I’m not 100% sold on it compared to the dedicated hardware on the rear case of my previous phone but it works although a little slower than would be ideal. I am yet to try a tempered glass screen protector, but with a cheap plastic one I am currently using, I saw no difference compared to naked (the phone not me 🙂 ).

Day to day the phone is very responsive and it doesn’t seem to have issues with leaving apps running in the background (they don’t get killed to soon, which plagued me on my old phone) Gaming is pretty good, and doesn’t struggle even under load. The GPS is very quick to acquire and works perfect as my main in car GPS.

Battery has plenty of juice for me using it most of the day and I always charge every night so no issues.

Unfortunately I have discovered one almost show stopper for me which nearly breaks my heart as its a great phone!! I am unable to use my IEM’s even with a 3.5mm to usb-c adaptor 🙁 UPDATE: So it seems you can, but you must by a specific adaptor with built in DAC at about 12 direct from google.

    Pro’s
    Very responsive
Google’s interface is a winner with no bloat
Camera results and post prod tweaks are fantastic
    Screen is bright
Feels great to hold and not too heavy

    Con’s
Its a bit chunkier than some
Fingerprint scanner is slow and ‘may’ have issues with tempered glass screen protectors
Unable to use analogue audio (3.5mm IEMs) with a simple usb-c to 3.5mm adaptor, you have to buy a specific one. Its not hugely expensive but something you need to consider.

Now the big question….. Would I recommend this phone?
Yes I would, BUT…as long as the above con’s are considered and acceptable then you will have a fantastic phone in your hands, with a near perfect implementation of android, well done Google, but next time please just fix those small little issues.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersThis is my first Google phone and I won’t be dwelling on technical specs and instead highlight some things that I loved and some that need to be improved.
1+ Battery life is just exceptional. after using my phone for the whole day I still have 50-60% charge left’
2+ Amazing integration with Google Search when using Google Maps and when receiving calls from an unknown number. So if a specific number has been registered as a Google Business or flagged as a scam – your phone will tell you.
3+ Emergency call function allows you to set the emergency contact and in case of a danger alert your emergency contact and 999 services about your situation and exact location. The phone also starts recording the video of what is happening and uploading it to the cloud.
4+ Great personalization options with an opportunity to personalize pretty much anything you like.
5+ Crystal clear, vivid, and dynamic screen

1- Fingerprint scanner can be tricky when unlocking your phone and for me, it works in about 50% only
2- If you have works Microsoft Exchange email, it will be set under the Gmail app which is complete idiocy as
3- The packaging is very meager as you only get a double end C type USB cable, a small adaptor that can be used as UBS on the go, a Sim card extraction tool, and a super miniature user guide. If you don’t have a C-type electric plug or C-type to USB cable, you won’t be able to charge your phone.
4- You can’t extend the memory with any memory card and will need to use the cloud services for your media files.

Overall, I really like this phone. I am a fan of Android devices and this hasn’t disappointed. It could probably be regarded as a slightly simpler phone. The build is solid and slightly heavier than my other Android phone but I actually prefer this as it feels more secure when holding it. The main features I look for in a phone are the camera quality and battery life. Both of these are extremely good in this phone. I do find the fingerprint recognition a little slow. Furthermore, navigating through different screens can be a bit temperamental. Maybe I need more practice. I do find the maximum volume of this phone to be too low. It was easy to set up and I love using Google, so everything linked well to my account. I also really like that the phone has a high quality resolution screen for watching catch up television and the screen is tough and water resistant too. I am clumsy, so this is a must in a phone. Very pleased with this purchase.

It sorts of makes sense to look at the Pixel 6 when looking for a new phone. If anyone can get the most of Android you would think the parent could! Sorry . Commercial Sponsor

From unboxing the product and the ease of set-up and data-transfer the phone has been brilliant. It does ‘link’ things together in a way that is different, but once you get to understand the logic of how the family works together it just makes life so simple.

I’ve only used the camera a few times but the picture quality and the additional features are great.
I’ll be using the phone a lot more over the next few weeks, but if it keeps operating as it has so far, I think the wife will looking at the same for her next phone.

Golden Review Award: 5 From Our UsersI bought this camera to replace my ageing Huawei P20 pro, and one of the key requirements was another phone with a decent camera.

Now this phone doesn’t have the same zoom lens capability of my Huawei, but to be honest that’s inconsequential. I use my phone to take snapshots of my family and whilst out and about and this phone really excels here.

The overall camera quality is superb and easily surpasses my Huawei p20 pro for everyday shots. It doesn’t seem to matter what the lighting condition is, this phone will take a great image. This is the primary reason I bought this phone and it definitely doesn’t disappoint

It also has some nice features which allow you to easily remove unwanted objects from your pictures. It’s nice to have this kind of feature built into the phone. The magic eraser feature even automatically finds things in your image that it recommends removing. Have a look at my second picture where it’s preselected people on the boundary of the image. Astounding.

The screen size is just perfect and doesn’t feel quite as “narrow” as some of the other larger phones on the market. This means reading websites such as BBC, is an absolute joy.

It’s not all rosy though – the finger print reader can be a bit slow to respond which can be frustrating at times. And there doesn’t seem to be a face unlock feature – maybe that will come in a later update (hopefully)

And the battery life isn’t quite on a par with my Huawei. That beast could easily last two days with light usage. This will last the day, but you’ll find you’ll need to charge each night. Not a big issue generally, but useful to know if you’re travelling far!

Overall – I’m really pleased with this phone. I think it’s the best mid range price phone available and it’s easily punching above it’s weight.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent Premium phone at a fantastic price

After buying the Pixel 6 phone, I found out that 5G connectivity is not working on any supported 5G network operator in any country similar to other phones like iPhone and Samsung 5G phones. I’m limited with a maximum connectivity of LTE if I’m in a country has a network operator supporting 5G but is not within the list of networks mentioned in Google website which are almost 14 countries only. This is a very negative issue for Google phones to have such sever limitations in 5G support across the world as compared to its rivals like iPhone and Samsung, where I’m just inserting my SIM card in any if their 5G phones, and I have a 5G connectivity immediately without any special settings, but with Pixel 6, I’m limited with LTE connectivity only if I’m not within the 5G supported countries and under the 5G supported network operators in those countries. I communicated with Google technical support team and they confirmed the same to me, which is really very annoying (to buy a 5G phone and find out that you cannot use it as 5G phone while you can other rival phones very smoothly). I didn’t expect that from a company like Google at all, and I really hope if this is fixed by them soon via software update or any other means.

Apart from that, the phone is great in all other aspects with me.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersNormally I use Samsung phones but my boss said he had a Pixel 4 and loved it . So after lots of research and tube videos I decided to buy it from Amazon I picked the grey colour but got to say all colours look great . So after one month Ive found the phone to be of really good build quality performs very well speed wise . Like a new toy I’ve been using all the time and got to say the battery life is incredible photos and videos are high end which I didn’t expect for the price The phone is a little heavy with case and screensaver on but feels like a quality product not plasticky . Sound quality superb and Bluetooth excellent .Yes the fingerprint scanner could be better and hopefully future updates will cure it but appart from that I feel like I’ve picked the right phone iff you use your phone all the time you will not be disappointed in my opinion . One more thing the voice text messaging is incredible I have bad eyes and havent typed a text mesg out since I got this phone . Hope I’ve been of help it’s a minefield so many phones to go for many good ones but for the money you can’t go wrong pixel 6 thumbs up from me .

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI really like this phone. I’m android all day long and for me this is the elite of the different brands I’ve had. I always look for a good camera and THIS phone has it! I can edit my photos at the touch of the screen and take things out of the photo! It even suggests what to take out eg: people in the back ground on a photo! Also great for when I took a selfie of me and my youngest but had a spot on my nose… What spot!? I love how it has colour pop also so it will greys ale the back ground and have the object in a photo in colour. Easy and amazing results. It has a great range of ringtones, the battery lasts really well in my opinion and this is the first phone I’ve actually used the finger print unlock as no other has been as precise as this. I don’t like the fact it does come with a charger head so have marked it 1 star down for that. The charger is a c to c cable and I don’t have a head for that so when you spend the amount this phone costs, I’d expect it to come with everything needed.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersSince upgrading from the pixel 5 (two weeks ago), I have been impressed with the phone in a number of ways.
Screen: Definition has improved and is now full HD, this is great when viewing larger photos and/or watching Netflix/videos online in HD
Battery Life: This has improved with the increased battery size (4000 to 4600 mAh) has meant that the phone lasts significantly longer (over 30 hours now) very useful with a newborn baby when you forget to plug stuff in.
Camera: The new camera is a big step forward, historically this has been a Pixel downside with the 5 not comparing to my partners iPhone 7 and later the 12, so I frequently retained from taking photos leaving this to them. The new 50 MP camera changes this with us sharing photo duties. The photo editing features such a face unblur and portrait mode are very welcome and have allowed me to capture much better photos than on my previous phone. I’ve only used the magic eraser a couple of times but it has been very clever, but on occasion (with more complex photos it is clear where the erasing has occurred.
The live translate feature is also great to use, though again due to lockdown this hasn’t had as much use as the other upgraded features

    Minor Cons (for me):
    1) Slippery – The phone has fallen off the side of the sofa onto the carpet quite a few times due to the gloss finish. This could be because of raised camera element on the back which causes the phone to sit up higher and doesn’t allow a grip on anything really. This is such a small gripe and was resolved by having a case added to the phone.
    2) Quite large – Both my wife and I found the phone to be quite large so it made it awkward to use when trying to use it one-handed, this could be in part due to my smaller hands but is worth considering if you’re used to smaller phones (iPhone 7/ Pixel 5 etc)
    3) Fingerprint sensor – I preferred the position of the Pixel 5 sensor (on the back of the phone) having it on screen is a bit less responsive (I assume as it needs to confirm that the request is not a mis-click on the screen.

Overall a massive step forward in the phone and a true competitor to Samsung and Apple, unless you are looking for a very specific phone this is an amazing phone that matches all competitors out there. the price is fantastic for the phone and should bring in a lot of new Google customers.

he specs on this phone are great and performs as such with a nice responsive screen and great battery life (more than 2 days with light use)
the phone feels quite robust but doesnt have a premium feel when compared to my S10 and has a noticeable step between the different materials
the camera is really good quality but the settings seem limited and awkward, then theres the HUGE camera bump on the back which make holding the phone horrible to hold and top heavy.
one other thing i didnt like is there isnt many themes/colours to choose from

So, I’ve had this phone for a week now – the release came almost at the perfect time as I smashed my Pixel 3a and wasn’t super enthusiastic about the cost to repair what was already a few-year-old phone. Coming from a more compact phone I was unsure about the size, but the Pixel 6 does feel really nice in the hand, even perhaps premium. The camera array, as expected from Google now, is fantastically functional especially with the night sight, motion, and wide angle modes. Likewise, the editing options like background blur and magic eraser are fantastically useful, even if they only work on some photos. I quite like the live wallpapers too – especially the one where the landscape changes as the battery depletes through the day.

Those are the pros, now here’s the meh parts – the swipe navigation is taking a bit to get used to. I used this on my old Pixel but it’s configured different for the P6, so getting around, especially between apps, has been taking a little longer. The fingerprint sensor has been decently reliable for me, better than my previous phone in fact, but if your hands aren’t super clean or other less than ideal conditions it can ‘hang’ sometimes. It does work fine with a screen protector though – you may just need to re-add your fingerprint.

Overall I’m pretty happy with my purchase though! If you want a flagship-feeling phone without needing to spend nearly a grand for Samsung or Apple, it’s a really solid buy.

Not really sure what all the negative reviews are about, this is a 600 phone and that’s what you get. The point of this phone is to get stock android, and anything else is a bonus, don’t get me wrong the finger print reader could do with some tweaking, hopefully via updates. But other than that you get a decent 1080p screen with 90hz, battery isn’t amazing but good enough, but so most phone batteries aren’t great these days anyway. Processor is good and on par with a snap dragon for a few years ago which is more than fast enough with how little processors improve these days anyway. It’s hard to explain but the main verdict is if you need a clean and smooth stock android experience, if you do the pixel is for you, if you are not bothered then I would do your research first. But other than that, this phone is great for the price.

Golden Review Award: 69 From Our UsersI’ve had the Pixel 1XL, 2XL, 3XL, 5 and now the Pixel 6. Before that I had every generation of Nexus phone which was a veritable mixed bag.

Each year there has always been some kind of compromise. Whether that be battery, performance, screen or audio. The cameras have always been excellent (though clinging on somewhat as competitors caught up). This year they have delivered a true flagship.

Coming from the Pixel 5, a solid but unremarkable phone, this is a true upgrade in every regard. I missed the boat with the 6 Pro but plumped for this figuring I could pick up a Pro in the future if needed. Having had the Pixel 6 since launch day I don’t see any need to upgrade.

The screen is excellent, yes it’s only HD+ but it’s clear, sharp and bright enough. The HDR works well. Images and video pops. Worth noting you can make things more saturated (or cool it off) in the settings menu. The size is perfect, I don’t find it too large but I guess those with smaller hands might struggle. For consuming content…it’s ideal. The phone is actually quite easy to hold with nicely sized bezels and rounded side bumpers.

Audio sounds good, it gets loud enough and sounds decent relative to other phones and iPads I’ve used. Call quality is excellent over cellular and WiFi.

I found it did get hot whilst setting it up but other than gaming or video editing I find it stays cool almost all of the time.

Performance is fast, snappy and the Tensor chip is clearly optimised for Pixel. No complaints here at all.

Pixel has always excelled with camera shots. This year the cameras have been upgraded and it shows. You can take fantastic photos without trying. There are lots of more advanced and some experimental options if you’re into it but if you need a point and shoot that takes great photos more often than not….this is it.

Battery life is improving with time. I haven’t found it better or worse than anything else I’ve used before. I’m never far from a charging source so not a big concern for me. Easily seeing me through a day in any case.

Dislikes…no charger. I have plenty of USB C chargers around the home anyway so not a big deal. It’s the way the world is going. Whether that’s right or wrong is up for debate. It would have been nice if they included it but I see the arguments for not. It’s clearly advertised so I can’t claim I was mislead.

The keyboard takes a while to get used to owing to phone profile. Bit of a learning curve for me. Voice text is eerily accurate.

Fingerprint sensor is maybe more hit and miss than previous rear mounted sensors but in the right spot it’s fast enough.

Happy to recommend this. The software is superb and will obviously be updated with time. This is a true flagship at a very appealing price point. Unless you need the higher res screen or telephoto lens from the 6 Pro, this is the one to go for.
