Govee Envisual LED TV Backlight T2 with Dual Cameras
Govee Envisual LED TV Backlight T2 with Dual Cameras, DreamView RGBIC Wi-Fi TV Lights for 55-65 inch TVs, Double TV Light Beads, Adapts to Ultra-Thin TVs, Smart App Control, Music Sync
What’s the difference between Govee T1 backlight H6199 and T2 backlight H605C?
H605C is with dual-camera design and double the number of LED beads for improved color-matching performance, and the camera’s gravity-stabilization structure allows for easier installation, including on ultra-thin TVs.
Can other Govee lights sync with this backlight?
This T2 backlight can be set as the main device via the DreamView syncing function in Govee Home App, allowing other Govee non-camera lights to sync with it via Bluetooth for full-room color-matching of on-screen content.
Can the camera be placed at the bottom of the TV?
Unlike T1 backlight (H6199), T2 backlight’s dual camera uses a counterweight system that can only be mounted at the top of the TV.
My color-matching is a little off. How can I improve performance?
Firstly, adjust the saturation and white balance in Govee Home App. Next, make sure there are no other lights interfering with the camera, as bright direct light or on-screen light reflections can affect performance.
Is the camera stable on top of the the TV?
The dual camera uses a counterweight system, and once mounted, it does sit securly on the TV. Optional 3M stickers are included, and these can be placed on the counterweight’s silicone grip for additional attachment strength.

Bought this along with the additional side lights for the price of the competitors link box. The system works great with Alexa and is fantastic. The light adapts well and I’m loving the affect!
I invested in the very expensive Hue eco system – they are easy to use but a massive price tag. This however has changed my way of thinking – so easy to install and far far better than the Hue play strip
This is how a tv sync light should work and it works on everything not just what is plugged into i
Wowwwww wowwww and wowwwww complete game changer !!! Just buy it .best on the market .enhances movies to a different level . Yes it seems expensive for strip lights but these are next level !! Awesome
Thought it would be annoying at first but with the smooth transition of colours it adds to the experience and its even better with movies overall I’m amazed that it is actually that good I’d definitely recommend it for that bit xtra tv viewing I brought the standard kit a lot cheaper first but this money well spent for the upgrade
Bought these LEDS for the back of my TV today. Was a bit dubious before I ordered them but after reading the reviews and watching the videos I went for it. Very happy with them, easy to install and configure the camera. Have uploaded a video of Paddington 2. Would recommend.
I had the T1 for over 3 years. At one point it got defective, and they sent a replacement under the warranty. Now I upgraded my tv to an OLED, and I needed the T2. I would never go back for a life without this type of product. Worth every penny, especially if you find it on sale. And an amazing customer support. Extremely pleased with it. I would definitely recommend!!!
Honestly I was very undecided whether or not to purchase these lights as they were more expensive than most, WELL SO HAPPY I DID ! They are worth every single penny, completely altered my tv viewing experience, the lights give such a subtle effect I LOVE THEM ! Very easy to set up & I found the App really easy to use as wellhonestly don’t look to purchase any other product, you really won’t be disappointed.
Don’t often write reviews but on this occasion this product is superb!! Only criticism is the sticky on the lights and fixing pads could be stronger but other than that GET THIS !!
For sure one of my best pursuits! Watching tv becomes like a very fun and colorful cinema experience! For gamers, like me, takes the game in an other level! Definitely buy it!
This is a very good product ,but very hard to stick around tv ,they kept dropping down ,very frustrating ,a few of the LEDs stopped working ,I don’t know if this was because they were faulty ,or the fact they kept dropping down! They need more adhesive on them
I was looking for lights for my living room and found Govee. Over the last year I have bought a lot of Govee products for my entire house and one of those were TV Backlight T2. Had a bit of time considering which one should I go with as there is T1, T2 and I believe T3 (Lite). I went with T2 as it is a newer version with most improvements and advantages.
It was super easy to install and my living room looks so good with the lights at the back of my 58″ TV. It works perfect when you have some extra light in your room and lights are the most accurate. However in the dark it has a bit of struggle to replicate colors from the screen so it shows more red, purple when it should be yellow, green, blue or white instead. Overall, I would strongly recommend this TV Backlight T2, I would be buying it again if ever needed too.
I’ll start with the downside, I have a measly 50″ tv so the LED strip did not fit perfectly squared but made it work and hid them from the edges. With that being said this product is a huge upgrade from my previous LED light strips
A very good product, which would have 5 stars if it had the ability to mount the camera at the bottom of the TV.
Although it took a while to get it set up just right (the lights are very red until set up properly) but there are plenty of videos on YouTube explaining how to do this.
The lights were easy to set up — I quickly realised that I had ordered the wrong size and these were too big (good excuse to the wife for a bigger TV!).
The setup was really simple and intuitive.
I’d like to be able to set the lights on a still rainbow, for example — you can do it but you have to go through and set each section as desired which is a bit of a pain.
Overall, really happy with the product, great, immersive addition to the livingroom!
Works well but not as bright as expected (adverts very optimistic) however instructions clear and setup ok. App not easiest to use and a bit confusing. This is a shame as needed to get best out of lights xxxx
Excellent customer service as well. Ended up having a small problem with the lights after about 9 months. I emailed through their website and they replied the next day and sent me a replacement.
The Govee T2 is great and will change how you watch TV, very easy to fit and set up via the app. I initially had a bit of trouble getting Govee to add to my Google home for voice control but this has since corrected itself . Worth taking time to calibrate your camera, saturation and brightness settings to get the best but worth it . I’m considering adding light bars to complete my set up. An expensive toy but makes a great addition to your TV and your loving room.
So first things first, as title says these are a great upgrade on the originals, I find the colours match much better. Still not 100% perfect but with more tweaking in app I’m sure I’ll get it there.
One huge thing to know, if you have your tv set on furniture rather than hung on the wall (especially white furniture) there is a chance of the colours being messed up. Mine is sitting in an IKEA Lappland and when first set up whites were showing red and blacks showing bright blue. Simple fix is black fabric under the tv covering the white that bounces the colours back on the camera, I found some reasonably priced sticky black felt sheets on amazon and these fixed the issue.
I am loving the dream view feature that allows these lights to control others in the govee range for a more immersive experience, only downside to this is having to select where the light is so it corresponds with that section of the tv. I have a lightstrip going around the ceiling and can only pick one section to copy. Hopefully a future update takes this into consideration and allows different sides of room to match tv.
Very good app and set up is simple with easy to follow instructions. Will be adding light bars to this set up
The T1 was great…but very weak on brightness and colour. I ended up never using it after the first week or so.
This T2 (new version) is in a different league! So much so that I’ve got the brightness and saturation right down, to get it looking right. Basically…you can have the colours as juicy as you like. It’s 10x more powerful, IMHO.
2 things I’d like to see:
1: Colour matching/tweaking per colour. The white balance gets RGB bang on, but purples and oranges suffer. Use the WB to tweak Orange and Purple to be perfect…then obviously all others are out of whack. So it can do all colours accurately…but it won’t. It would be good to have a colour tweaker. BUT…I have got it very very close.
2: Need the option for the camera, being on the bottom, added to the app asap.
Also, this T2 responds to Alexa controls way more consistently than T1. In fact…100% of the time.
I spent a lot of money on a Hue Sync box and a 5 Hue Play light bars, searching for the ultimate in TV backlights and I was constantly frustrated and disappointed at how difficult it was to set up and for it to recognise inputs, especially not being able to sync any Smart stuff already on board the TV.
This Govee system solves everything. It syncs to anything, no matter what the source, the app or the input. If it’s on the screen, it syncs. Plus, so many more options for scenes, music sync, lighting moods, the possibilities are huge.
Love it.
Only minor downside is the app is a little dated in look and feel. It does however, simply work.
I got these for my fianc’s Xmas he’s well into gadgets and really wanted these. I was a bit put off by the price but I must say they are worth every penny. Personally I think it makes the TV easier on the eyes the colours work well with the picture and the timing of the colours is great. Literally took a few minutes to put on the back of the TV
The product works well generally, installation is a bit nervy because of the price but not too difficult. However I bought this to colour match for watching movies and games on my LG OLED, and it doesn’t do that well. It can reproduce a few colours of the rainbow but by no means a full spectrum and definitely not browns etc. This means a scene with grass at the bottom elicits a scarlet red colour because the camera sees more brown (mud between the grass) than green. This doesn’t match the human eye which ranks green higher and red is still clearly not brown. I have colour calibrated the best I can, though the white is still slightly blue because the calibration isn’t sensitive enough and the area near the camera stays bluer anyway. But even this slightly being off, doesn’t explain why mud/grass is scarlet rather than a higher wavelength (e.g. blood red/ burgundy), or just mixing in a bit of green light. This isn’t an led restriction as my oled tv is perfectly capable of making brown.
Edit: colour matching still not great, but app update has improved lots of other things so hoping for a more sensitive colour temperature update in the future
Debated for a few weeks with myself as to whether I should invest in these lights. Would they work as advertised, would I find the changing lights distracting, would I find the camera on top of the tv intrusive, will it really make that much difference to watching movies and gaming compared to having static backlights, and more importantly, what would the wife feel about them. She can be quite vocal on anything she finds irritating and annoying, usually me. On top of that they are not cheap, had to get the 5m length, coming in at 169. I have had them for just over a month so thought I would share my thought’s for anyone in two minds about them. They came in quality packaging and were nicely packed in the box. The camera is solid and well made, no cheap plastic here, and the strip of LED lights also look and feel good quality, vastly different to much cheaper LED lights. There is a wire you connect from the camera to a small control box, the lights connect to the same control box as does the power lead that plugs into an electrical socket. The only issue I have had is that the control box, after a short while, kept coming unstuck from the back of the tv. I fixed this with a command strip sticking it directly to wall behind the tv, so no big deal. The important thing is that the lights themselves have stuck, and remain stuck to the tv. Relatively easy to set up and calibrate, via an app on your phone. There is no remote with this kit, all done via the app, but you can link to Alexa or Google to switch on and off, change colour ect, as you can just have a static colour if you wish. The lights are bright and colours are vivid. The change of colour, when using dreamview mode, is virtually instant. The colours on the tv screen are reasonably well replicated by the lights, sometimes the colours may be slightly off from what I’m seeing on screen, but this may be due to my lack of skill at setting it up. The key is to adjust the saturation level on the app, I have mine on 15% and to adjust the white balance, mine is a few notches away from the centre towards the blue end of the scale, to get as close as you can. You can go further and adjust the tv settings to improve it more, but I didn’t want to go down that route. To be honest I am more than happy with how it is. I have downloaded a video, but I have to say it doesn’t do the lights justice, much better in the flesh as it were. And the answers to my questions at the top of this very long winded review. Yes they do as advertised. I do not find them distracting at all, actually it’s now more distracting if the lights are not on. You actually forget the camera is on top of the tv after a very short while. Watching movies, and especially gaming, are definitely given a boost. My wife has not made a comment either way which, believe me, is a very good sign, and yes she still finds me irritating and annoying. Would I recommend? I already have. So to summarise, a good quality product that does what it says. Value for money? Your paying for quality and the technology for it to do its thing, and although not a life essential, they make me happy. It would be nice if they were cheaper, but then it would be nice if everything else was cheaper too. If you have some spare cash to spend on some lights then I absolutely recommend these. Hope this review has helped you decide.
Having read a few of the reviews and taking onboard the concerns of some of the more negative ones, mainly about the camera being an eyesore, we went ahead and purchased it anyway.
We are so glad we did as it is better than what we imagined, and in our opinion, the people of rejected it due to the size of the camera really missed out.
Once in situ, you honestly don’t notice it.
Our TV is a 67″ LG OLED and there was enough strip of LED, as well as corner cable.
Easy to set up and we are blown away with the effect it provides – the video really does it no justice whatsoever.
We would recommend to anyone considering this – do it! You won’t regret it.
Backlighting a TV really does improve the visual perception its image; those, like me, who have an LCD TV rather than an AMOLED device know that, in a dark room, the lack of contrast (washed-out blacks) can be very noticeable but, by backlighting the panel, the eye becomes less sensitive to this issue.
Besides all this, this Govee product can do far more than just swamp the rear of the TV with ambient light, it can also operate under the control of the image, by use of a small camera that comes with the product, to produce a backlight that follows the action, thereby greatly enhancing the viewing experience.
The unit is very well made and the installation instructions are comprehensive, and it can be integrated with the Alex system, giving voice control of some but not all of the unit’s functionality, for complete control the Govee App must be used.
If, like myself initially, you think that fancy lights strung up behind a TV are a bit of gimmick then take a punt as I did and buy this device; it’s a terrific bit of kit and well worth the purchase price.
I have tweaked the settings to the very best they can be and as you can see it doesn’t capture all the colours. This is an official govee test video too. If they can just fix the colour flow it would be perfect. Having said that, when watching a film or on a game you don’t really notice it as the colours aren’t so focused and bouncing round the screen…. All in all unless you want to pay mega amounts this is very good and does the job 🙂
I already have the t1 set which is far far cheaper but came with 2 standing light bars.
the t2 is great quality as is the latter but the price of the t2 in my opinion is too high for less lighting hence the 4 stars.
worth having but not at the price i paid even with the 40 voucher.
So after a long time putting off, as unsure how good this really was, I decided to go for it.
Setup went well on our 55inch LG TV. Was little planning involved as making sure LEDs were in the correct place before sticking them on.
The back of the tv is not flat, so just had to work around that. Then I positioned the camera on top of tv in the centre. At first I did not think it would be secure enough. The camera has a counter weight built in, and has not moved since I put it on. Even with a five year old running around the house. There is also a little box that sticks to the rear of the tv, the control module.
Once that was sorted, was just a case of downloading the app, and going through the setup. Setup was simple enough. Point to note on the app, is that you need to go into the app settings, and make sure Bluetooth is enabled on the app.
Part of the setup involves sticking little orange foam blocks on to the screen, however, I did not like this idea, and switched the tv on, then selected a YouTube video which displays the orange blocks.
Soon as that was completed I played around with all the different settings. It does work well. It does match the colours of the screen quite well. Not always accurate. But have played with the settings and have it a lot better now. There is a little lag time sometimes with it matching the colours, but this is down to what you are watching and you hardly notice it to be honest.
My advice is to research it online, as have found user guides etc, to get the best out of it.
Overall I am very happy. Still playing with the settings, and not tried it with a film yet or gaming. Only on day three so far. Definitely worth the money if want to try this. Very well made gadget also. Quality is very good.
Great product.
Your tv might struggle to fit strips on the back but as long as you can get the top right and left in plafe the bottom one can go in the middle or close and it will still be fine. My samsung 55inch wouldn’t allow the bottom strip right at bottom.
Anyway, the most important part to note with this is the APP option that lets you decide if you want different colours for the left and right based on the video.
I would recommend for movies yo use just one colour but for cokourful games or gameshows eith lots of lighting and colour scattering use the half/half mode.
My photos are showing BattleBots with loads of neon colours. Half and Half worked amazingly for this as you can see but for a movir half and half fails because most times theres a specific haze or tone and if you have half and half it tends to pick up a colour you mkght not consider to be the main colour on screen.
Also, for movies I noticed that callibrating the camera to focus on the middle worked better then trying to callibrate it to view the outer edges of tv (but for games and brighr gameshows scanning edges works well).
The best thing about this lights is how fast they change colour. It’s completely instant and they really do make your TV screen stand out and create an atmosphere that spills out from the TV to your walls and ceiling.
Recommend it and I recommend using the APP and messing with settings.
One thing to note is that sometimes the colours might not seem to match and you have to take into account that the software is grabbing the average colour from an area and then merging them (like mixing in a pot) to get the outcome. It works 9/10 times though and using one colour for movies is absolutely recommended.
Pretty easy to install – complete novice here but managed it on my own! A couple of the sticky pads fell off (despite using the alcohol wipe) but I had some spares from elsewhere. Really love this when watching films. Truly makes it an immersive experience. You soon forget about the camera and the lights – occasionally you look at the lights instead of the screen if the film is a bit dullWould highly recommend. Love it.
I love them I’ve started using my TV more. My only criticism is the fitting isn’t great on my thin oled. Those with TVs slightly thicker than mine will fit perfectly
Great product fits my 65 inch tv ok but could be a tad longer but doesn’t seem to lose any effectiveness. Takes a bit of tweaking to get a fairly close match and a lot cheaper than other options by . I wouldn’t worry about camera being on the top of screen you don’t notice it and it sits securely. Films are moved to another dimension buy and enjoy.
Really easy to set up, the app has a load of features to play with.
Only issue is the struggle to get the colour accurate. On vibrant scenes it’s great but subtle colours Combe out very saturated and the T2 really outputs a lot red colouring on yellow and orange scenes.
Overall though it was a great purchase, works great as an ambient ligh
Set up and installation is easy, covers a 55″ TV very well, could easily go to the larger size specified in the listing. The camera on the top of the screen isn’t noticeable after a couple of minutes, you forget it’s even there.
Parts on the back of the TV that stick out or are in the way can be an issue, but you can also just stick the light strips over it.
The colours match up quite well, can be adjusted to get a better match but it’s never going to be 100%, however minimal adjustment gets you a really good match. Also brightness can easily be adjusted luckily, as on full whack in the dark it’s extremely bright, 25% is enough.
There is a little bit of a delay on lights switching to match the screen, it’s barely noticeable but it is there.
All in all, no regrets and I’m very happy with it.
Absolutely love the product. I purchased the super expensive branded light bars and WiFi box and was then mythed to find out I needed to by a sync box and that I needed to buy the lights strip separately and that I would need to connect all my devices into sync box. I then returned the light bars and box and brought this. Let me tell you if I purchased all the equipment for the other brand it would of cost me 1000 where as I got this for under 150 and it works with Netflix and anything else that shows on my TV and the lights and the app are just brilliant. I love it!!!
I had been thinking about the Philips Hues Sync box; the problem with that is that it will only work with content coming through HDMI. If, like me, you’re using the apps on your smart TV for Netflix, Prime etc they won’t work. I was aware of camera based alternatives and had been um-ing and ah-ing about getting one for a while and finally took the plunge while it was 120 rather than the RRP of 150.
It was a lot easier than I expected to set up and only took about half an hour (and a lot of that was moving the TV to get to the back and returning it to place).
I used a “pure white” YouTube video to get a white screen to set the White Balance and I’ve since discovered there are some other YouTube videos you could use instead of sticking the orange marker blocks to your screen.
I’ve only used it for an evening so far so it’s all still a novelty but it seems to be doing the job well; some very slight lag occasionally and odd colour choice, but I may need to redo the white balance calibration.
The camera, for me, is not intrusive but then I was used to having a PlayStation camera at the top of the TV anyway.
There might be irritations I haven’t discovered, or issues when it’s daylight as opposed to evening.
Obviously as it’s another gadget rather than built into the TV you have to turn it on and off separately from your TV, but you can do this via Amazon Alexa or Google Home if you have them; and that could be considered a plus if you don’t always want the “light show”
The main criticism I would have is that the instructions only go so far and there isn’t any description of what all the settings you can change in the app actually do, you either have to go trial and error or Google extensively. From what I can see to get an “ambilight” still experience you need to set Video with the Part and Movie options and saturation somewhere around 15-20% and brightness about 75% (I still don’t know what the relative brightness setting does).
Is it worth it?
Well it’s not cheap enough to be an impulse buy but it’s MUCH cheaper that the Philps Sync option.
I think where your TV is placed will have an impact, ours is in a corner. You would probably get much more impact if you are wall mounted.
I’m a bit of a gadget freak and so far I am not regretting the purchase; if that changes I’ll update the review.
If you have a proper home cinema then you probably like to make a statement and these do the job great!
I would have given them 5 stars except for the fact the corners can be troublesome to hide if you don’t follow the online video to the letter; this really needs to be emphasised in the quick start guide.
Would I recommend this product? Yes
I AM IN NO WAY AFFILIATED WITH THE MANUFACTURER OR DEVELOPER OF ANY PRODUCT OR GAME I REVIEW AND ALL MY REVIEWS ARE UNBIASED AND TRUE
Love this product. Despite what I read I actually found it easy to set up. Took about 20 minutes, unbox to calibrated and working. Only had to do it once. This is on a 49″ TV. A few twists but held together neatly with adhesive grips supplied. Watched the fireworks in the video just to test it, looks brilliant. Adds a new layer to the experience.
The backlighting is definitely a nice addition to enhancing your TV viewing experience especially at night for more of an immersive experience. The only slight downside is there is a slight latency between the LED lights colour reproduction to that on the TV screen but after a while if you’re not looking for it you don’t notice it too much.
It really has added something to movie watching, game shows, anything you might be watching but it’s pretty much impossible to get it accurate in our set up, we have a lot of different govee lights etc and thus reflections and the camera will pick these up in the tv, so you might have it set up perfectly but then change the lighting and thus the reflections and then confuse the camera again.
so though most of the time it’s really fun, it can be slightly distracting when it decides a blue sky is green, and such like, most of this can be avoided if you are starting from the ground up in a room and design it correctly to stop reflections in the tv
i would say 150 quid is a bit of a stretch to say it’s worth it but for us it’s added a lot to movie nights and the other effects it can do are quite fun too
music modes etc just seem chaotic and crap, i find this with all these products though
responsiveness hasn’t been a issue either, once in a while colour changes on tv are happening so fast it can’t keep up but for me it’s not been distracting it’s perhaps a 0.3 second delay or something for it too react, so for most purposes it’s not noticable.
I was gifted the T1 for Christmas but it wasn’t compatible with my flat screen tv. The camera needed sticking to the TV and was designed for thicker screens. I really liked the idea so I returned it and purchased the upgraded T2 and only having had it for a few days I am loving it when watching my movies.
Set up was quick and easy and the effects are amazing already (although I do need to spend some time working on better calibration, but this doesn’t take from my experiance)
My only reason for rating at 4 stars is a minor niggle with the light strips. Don’t get me wrong, they are great however the kit I purchased was for 55″ tv which mine is.
The light strip at the top runs the full length of the screen, which is a good thing. The side straps are about 10cm shorter than the screen, which again is fine but each strip is connected by a wire and because the top is the same length as the screen, the wire initially overhung the screen. Not so much an issue as these can be tacked back but what I notice is I can see the shadow of these in the light projected. Don’t get me wrong, you have to be looking for it to see it, but I am just that pedantic.
The strip at the bottom of the TV is the same as the top, however you need to be careful of the configuration of your TV. My TV isn’t flat at the bottom on the back so having to stick around corners was tricky and it means it doesn’t go from edge to edge like the top does.
Also my TV is on a stand and the way the stand attaches I couldn’t get the light around it, so I had to stick my light slightly higher than ideal and I fear this will take away from the effect at the bottom of the screen.
Having said this, I have my TV on a TV bench and a soundboard under the TV so I wouldn’t really see the light at the bottom anyway.
Despite this, it doesn’t take away from my experiance.
Also as another user has suggested, this would probably work better for TV against a flat wall. My TV is at an angle in the corner of the room, so the lights on the side appear brighter due to the close proximity to the wall and a constant reflection given off. Personally I can live with this but some may find this a distraction.
The stick strips seem super effective, which I do like. My concern is if/when I change the TV, I am not sure how I get this off without damage. I am also unsure how I would restick.
I am considering wall mounting my TV, which if I do I would be able to sit the lights at the bottom of my screen, but same concern arises here.
Finally I had a concern before purchase thay letterbox movies would cause an issue when detecting light on the screen, but I can confirm this doesn’t.
All in all, I love it. I recommend it and for the price compared to others on the market you can’t really go wrong.
Would definitely recommend makes veiwing experience so much better whatever you are watching.
Received this kit this morning and I am delighted with the results. It was a cinch to set up, took about 15 minutes in total. Calibration, the most important step, was very easy and can be repeated at any point after the installation if you want to fine tune the lights.
The actual LEDs are about twice as bright as my previous RGB lightstrip, which had no sensor so had to manually adjusted constantly. The strips also fit my 65″ OLED fine, so don’t worry if you have a TV at the top end of the recommended size.
The response time is great, I have seen an ambilight TV in action and although it is noticeably brighter and more accurate, this Govee kit comes really close. Any lag in the colours changing isn’t noticeable unless you’re watching the lights and not the screen.
Also, I was worried the acrualy sensor would be an eyesore, but after a few minutes you forget it’s there.
Highly recommended!
Well worth the money , I think it’s a lot better than the T1 , colours match bette
I really wanted a philps hue setup but I decided on the Samsung 950b oled tv and I’d look at buying the the Philips hue add on box you can purchase with the backlighting for any tv, I’m glad I shopped around as the govee is in my opinion the better product.
The Philips box requires you to plug and AV device into it as a pass through, it only runs at 60hz so no 120hz xbox or ps5 action there! Plus the Philips haven’t got the netflix licence to use the lighting so netflix won’t work either! Enter the govee….
Simple instalation of the lights and camera, all of which feel very premium download the app and voila!
Loads of customisation available through the app for different lighting effects, it’s Google or amazon controllable too.
Excellent purchase which I highly recommend
Always wanted immersive TV lights, was sceptical of first version and the reviews. When this version came out I simply had to buy. And it does NOT disappoint!! Absolutely amazing!
Makes watching a movie a whole new level!
10/10
Honestly love this so much. The camera tracks the colours and displays the colours on the back with great accuracy too.
It’s easy to set up and it fit my TV with no issues.
Much more cost effective than some big brands out there and does the job perfectly too.
No complaints at all! A brilliant piece of equipment!
Great bit of kit we love the effect it looks amazing we now watch tv with the Govee system on it’s great.
A couple of things to note. The power cable is way too short. It gets nowhere near where I need it to so I need to source a replacement. I think it’s about 1.5m long. I’ve had to straighten mine a little so I can’t see the individual lights on the wall. I think this would look much nicer on a free standing or flat against the wall TV setup with an equal amount of space all around.
The effects are really good. I’ve not used them much, but the music option looks good. A bit fiddly to set up but using the calibration video on YouTube it was easier.
I found that lowering the brightness to 20-25% and saturation to 40-50% made the system match colours far better and also resulted in the lights being off in black /near black scenes other than highlights.
With them set to default the colours were less accurate and when there was a lot of black the lights stayed bright blue.
Would recommend but be sure to play with the settings to get it right for your room. For the price (compared to the hue), you can’t grumble. I’m very happy with them and I can’t watch the TV without them on now.
Brilliant ambient lighting solution for the back of your TV!
Setup is simple and there are a host of ways you can choose to do it, literally watch a few examples on YouTube, I have set this up on an LG C2 65″ and it works a dream, movies now feel so much more immersive and the lights really add that wow factor. Gaming is next level with them as well! You can change a host of settings in the app to do with colours / brightness etc. Pairing is simple, as was the calibration, again I would suggest watching a YouTube video on setup to familiarise yourself with it , then you will find it a breeze. Sit back and enjoy the show! Very happy and will certainly recommend!
LED Backlight
Box includes all the equipment you need to add a LED backlight to your 55-65″ TV. It includes the camera, LED strip, clips, control box.
You do need clear access to the back of the TV to attach the LED strip, which goes close to the edge all the way round, a cleaning cloth is included if your TV is a little dusty. You can also attach the control box to the back of the TV if you want (though its pretty small(8cm square).
The camera has tow lenses and balances sticking out over the top of the TV, fitted my LG model with no problems. The camera is a little intrusive though less so if you have the TV mounted higher on a wall. The camera analyse the TV picture in real time and alter the LED backlight to match.
Probably fair to say, you need to spend some time calibrating (via foam squares- supplied) and matching the white balance. The in use you can tweak the settings (Via an app) as required.
Overall – good quality set, nicely designed components
Amazing for games and animated movies, good enough for films.
Light work and react great. I have noticed some odd flickering and the lack of a white light does affect colours – they tend to be reddish or blueish depending on how you set it.
Easy to set up , really adds to the film watching game playing experience, bit pricey but it’s a quality bit of kit,I’m finding it’s really helping my eye strain on late night watching, and the box it came in was boss I like a good box .
Wow. This is a brilliant bit of kit and very effective. It’s good quality and feels well-made. It takes the colours that are being displayed on the TV screen at any given time and colour-matches them into mood lighting from behind the TV. It doesn’t sound like much, but it makes a real difference to the viewing experience, and my partner in particular, who does like a good gadget, loves this. I like it far more than the regular LED strip-lights that I found to be quite distracting at times.
To begin with, I found the camera that sits above the TV (so it can scan the colours) a little distracting, but it didn’t take long to get used to it being there. Set up can be fiddly, as there’s a calibration process to follow, but it’s worth taking your time and getting it right, as if the colours are even slightly off, it is surprisingly obvious. There are instructional videos to help with the process and they’re pretty good.
I’ve always been happy with a straight forward TV set up, and never felt the need for any gadgets, but my partner has been moving down the gadget path and I have to say it’s worth it, especially as we’re having more movie nights, and it does enhance the experience.
At the time of writing this review, the cost is 149.99, which does make it a considered purchase, but if you’re in the position to spend the money and in the market for a TV backlight, this is a decent choice.
As much as I wanted to buy the phillips set up. I just could never bring myself so paying their extortionate amounts for a similar result.
In all fairness I haven’t seen both to make a direct comparison. But I personally don’t feel that this is needed after seeing how great this product is!
To put it simply. If you want your TV to look more awesome than normal. At an affordable price. Then buy this now! There’s a chance the the phillips set up may be better. But I’m positive that it’s a marginal difference (with price in mind). The govee t2 is definately a step in the right direction! Have fun people!
Upgraded from the T1 model , this is so much better , picks up the slightest hint of colour and movies and gaming with it , wow , amazing , a bit pricey but if you love your lights it’s well worth i
It’s the first time I’ve bought an LED TV light and I’m very impressed so far. I do have the Phillips Hue system for my computer room but in all honesty, their just to damn expensive so I opted to go down the Govee route.
I have built a media wall this year in the new extension and installed the T2 onto a 65″ Sony OLED Bravia 2022 model. Brilliant. Very happy with it.
My mother has also purchased the same product and although it’s good, I think it needs some more calibration to get the colours correctly displayed. On my TV, their excellent.
Would highly recommend.
Been waiting for these to come on go uk Amazon for ages these lights are amazing seem very expensive but we’ll worth i
