Harry Potter fans will love this but for everyone else, it is a fairly simplistic RPG. Performance is adequate and the downgrade in graphics quality is only really noticeable when compared side by side to the superior PS5 version.
Absolutely love the game. If you love Harry Potter then this is the game for you. The only thing is the characters in the films/books are not in the game. This is not a fault of the game at all.
This is a fantastic game which builds upon the Harry Potter world, extending it significantly in terms of backstory, lore and surrounding areas. However, it handles poorly on the Nintendo Switch (a limitation of the console, not the game), so the endless load screens with 30s loading really interrupts the immersive experience. Definitely worth getting though!
My boyfriend and I are so invested in this game, we love it! The story is good and your choices actually send you down different narrative paths. He gets to do all the duels and I care for magical creatures. Haha highly recommend
Bought this expecting a card. YP prefers cards. Front is different to what was shown. Internet download required from Nintendo e-shop (cheaper to buy directly from there by the way) using the code inside. Haven’t opened the plastic wrapper just in case we decide to return it. No mention in the title or elsewhere saying it’s a code. It needs a minimum of 30GB to download. Now will need to look/buy a SD card or return it! Please be transparent in what is being sold, time wasted.
EDIT. Placed new SD card in Switch. Decided to keep the game. When we opened it, it had the card and a download code! So didn’t really need the SD card. Oh. Anyway code works fine, downloaded no problems. YP likes the game. All good in the end.
Fantastic game. Follow the missions or fly around and explore on your own looking for missions to do. The kids love it. It is a large game, we are 2 months in and they have only completed 10% of it.

I enjoyed the game quite a lot, graphs are decent for Switch (again, ppl will said its not like PS5, but for the Switch is quite good) and performance is good as well (didn’t crash nor struggled with frame rate).

Hogwarts Legacy on the Nintendo Switch is an impressive port that manages to deliver a great gaming experience despite some visual downgrades and compromises. The game offers a massive open world to explore, engaging combat, and a rich storyline that fans of the Harry Potter series will love. However, the Switch version does come with some performance issues and longer loading times compared to other platforms. Nonetheless, it’s an excellent way to experience Hogwarts Legacy on-the-go, and I would recommend it to any Harry Potter fan who prefers playing on the Switch.
Great game with such a large map and you can pick and choose which quest/assignment to do. However the graphics and loading time compared to this game other consoles aren’t as good, very slow to load to different parts of the map.
You can change the difficulty settings too, depending on your level of skill, which is a great feature.

This was bought for both my older teen daughter and step daughter who are both huge Harry Potter fans. Amazing graphics for the Nintendo switch and it takes you on a journey in an open world with hours of play time. Some of the challenge’s may be a bit hard for younger children but great game and if a fan you’ll recognise most areas of the Harry Potter world.
The game lived up to my expectations and years of being a fan of HP stories. But maybe not the best games experience on Nintendo Switch, for there are lots of bugs and glitches out somewhat often and the visuals aren’t all that great. Still, despite whats said, I enjoyed the game massively
Having played the PS5 version of the game, it’s easy to tell the different between the graphics and gameplay with the Switch being lesser quality graphics and more jerky movements. We have not played the whole game through yet as it was a present but from the looks of it, the gameplay and story are the same as the other consoles. This is still an amazing game and would recommend getting it if you just own the Switch and not a PS5 but I personally would rate the PS5 version over the Switch for graphics, gameplay and experience as a whole.
Bought this for my 2 kids who are both Potter fans. Great for all the family. Just wish the price point was a bit lower so more people could enjoy it.
Bought as a Christmas present, I was expecting the graphics to suck, but plugging into a tv from the switch they are pretty impressive! Good fun game and works fine, even if the loading screens can be a bit slow sometimes!
Already purchased for xbox, and loved it so much so purchased for a friend. Very easy for new gamers, and people who don’t generally like games but love the Harry Potter world.
The game is open world, has alot of freedom to do different tasks and it looks amazing.
Amazon offer some free exclusives too which is great.
Waited so long for this. Honestly a brilliant game for any level of gaming experience as you can change the difficulty between storymode, easy, normal and hard. Multiple people are able to have their own saves on it so you can play as all 4 houses if you like. Loads to do and is a open world adventure. Highly recommended!
Bought this for my 8 year old grandson to use in his Nintendo Switch. He has spent more time using this than any other toy/game he has. Prove positive how interactive and challenging it is.
I have been waiting for this game to become available on the switch for over a year now! Very pleased with he final release and an excellent game. lots of side quests and fun with the magical beasts can be had. Really enjoyed playing the game and would recommend to anyone who enjoys the Harry Potter universe.
The game is brilliant and considering this plays on the switch, that makes it more impressive.
I like the open world aspect and the fact that you can vary how to play it, whether it be find or for the challenge , by altering the type of difficulty .
Being able to fly makes it feel like a better representation of the world we all know it to be. The down side is that I can because a little ‘samey’ it needs something akin to the quidditch World Cup game to spice it up .
So this is a massive game trimmed down to support the switch. And it holds up. Yes the textures aren’t as good as a PS5 but if you have played the game on a next gen console you wouldn’t know. The frame rate does lag on occasion but not as much as i was lead to believe. The loading times can be long (20-30 seconds) but this didn’t put me off. Overall just a great game and well supported on switch.

Yes the loading time can be annoying but it is a massive game that’s been transferred to a switch game from a ps5 game so no surprises there. I haven’t really had any problems with glitches and the graphics are stunning
Having watched my partner play on the PS5 I was super excited the Harry potter game was coming to the switch. I waited patiently till November and finally it arrived.
I have to say I love Harry potter and this game is amazing it is. The graphics on the switch though just aren’t what I expected. I love the switch and nintendo as a whole but I decided to send it back and play it on the ps5. If your OK with the graphics being good but not great then but this game for the switch. I know that hopefully as time goes on this will get better and hopefully they will bring out the second story on the switch when they release it for the ps5.
The game itself though is fab. I really enjoy the scope of play – to roam free and explore and complete quests. I’m only a few hours in but am consistently eager to play more!
Amazon reduced price immediately after the release day so people who pre ordered have paid more, disgraceful practice sorry but it is.
Game itself is great, the port to the Switch is a bit rough but that was expected considering the age and limitations of the hardware and the game is perfectly playable in both portable and docked modes.
4 stars for the product, very poor to reduce the price one day after release I will never buy on release day or pre order ever again.
