Had a slight problem with a small silicone insert disappearing causing the bottle to leak when on its side. Customer service team very quick to replace the bottle
This is a really lovely bottle, it keeps drinks fresh and is super easy to clean. It also is really durable and dishwasher safe. No peeling or cracking from the paint. It doesn’t leek at all BUT the catch isn’t as good as their old version. If a kid accidentally drops it in the car the catch can self undo on impact and just spill everywhere.

We have owned a few Ion8 bottles prior to testing this one and we have always found them to be of good quality and leak-proof.
This latest design uses what Ion8 themselves refer to as “Version 2” of their OneTouch lid opening system. This does only require one hand now, with just one thumb or finger required to open the lid. The switch can be placed one step up to the locking position to reduce the chance of any accidental opening – although I think the version 1 of this system is probably more secure and is less likely for the lid to be accidentally opened. Fortunately, Ion8 still offer both versions of the opening system, so you can choose which one you prefer.
The Llama design is cute and entertaining. My partner and I just went on a Llama and Alpaca farm walking tour and we found this Ion8 bottle design very apt.
This bottle carries 600ml of fluid and is made from stainless steel but is not insulated (insulated versions are also available). I found water perfectly clear to drink, without any awkward tastes or odours (which is more than what I can say for a Camelbak branded bottle that my partner recently bought me!).
The bottle is top-rack dishwasher safe. This is brilliant as I personally find water bottles a bit of an inconvenience to hand-wash, whilst also being more eco-friendly to wash in a dishwasher. The instructions on the advert suggest a cool-wash dishwasher cycle is required. I have used the 50C eco-wash cycle on our Siemens dishwasher and everything seems fine.
Love the size of this bottle, not too big for children to hold. Lovely pattern. Great leak proof lid, This bottle has no straw so is free flowing and will spill if knocked over when the lid is open.

My son loves it and he wants to take it everywhere with him. It became his school water bottle, and so far it works great. Apart from some small dents at the bottom of the bottle – everything works well.

A sturdy stainless steel bottle by Ion8.
It preserves the liquid temperature for longer than regular bottles. The outer surface is coated with durable and scratch-resistant powder paint. The raised 3D print of alpacas and cacti plants feels nice when touched.
The lid is leakproof.
It offers a vented, smooth water flow.
The concealed carry handle can be folded back when not in use. There is a button to slide up and down to lock and unlock. When the bottle is left in the bag, the locking mechanism comes in handy.
Superb build quality. Totally leak proof and smell free. A good choice for school going kids and traveling purpose
The bottle has a great design of cartoon Llamas and cactus plants which is fun and unique. The bottle is a good size for long walks or day trips but not so bulky it’s impossible to carry. The lock function works well and I haven’t had any issues with it leaking at all. It is well made and sturdy so I expect it will last well.
Adorable llama design and so far leak proof! My niece loves it and uses it for school – it fits perfectly in her water bottle compartment on the side of her bag. The flip lid makes it easy to quickly drink from with one hand without the need of any effort which is ideal for younger children. Opens up easily to clean too!
I really prefer this design to ones with straws – it’s easier to clean, no air bubbles and doesn’t leak. It’s beige in colour with lamas and hearts. It looks pretty effective. Our 9 year old loves it. It has a flip down lip (solid sip hole underneath) and locks in place to prevent any leakage if knocked over etc. Would highly recommend.
Very cute design and a very useful water bottle.
The locking system makes it totally leafproof as long as the lid is screwed on tightly.
Flick the button down to open the cap and push the button all the way up until it clicks to lock the cap so there is no leaks.
Keeps water chilled for a long time and it fits in cup holders. It also has a foldable ring on the lid so you can clip it to your bag.
The bottle is very useful when on long walks.

The pattern of this thermos bottle is so cute that it’s actually more eye catching than the picture. I have many similar bottles and this one is my favorite. Its outer surface is coated with scratch resistant coating, and those patterns are tactile 3D, which looks very eye catching. It doesn’t have a straw, the spout is very wide and easy to clean, it also has a portable lifting ring. As long as the lid is tightened the water won’t be leak out. Overall, great quality and the price is reasonable.
Fantastic little drinking bottle – easy to grip with the matte finish and I love the raised/embossed design (the alpacas, hearts and cacti) that is smooth to the touch. I tried to capture this difference in texture in the photo.
I initially thought it was a thermos flask, but it isn’t, and that hasn’t been a let-down at all, because the little touches were thoughtfully designed – the neck of the bottle is made from what feels like rubber/silicone and it makes opening the bottle (to clean) really easy. The top of the bottle is plastic with a smooth matte texture, and the little handle is so useful for just carrying around by looping around your finger or attaching it to a bag with a clip if you’re going on a walk.
It appears you can lock the lid by pushing up. To open, you push down and the lid flips open. The spring isn’t very strong though, but it’s fine by me because I don’t like it is the spring forces a bottle to open too forcefully.
Washing it was easy using a regular bottle cleaner and the spout is quite wide and any normal bottle brush or straw cleaner will do the trick.

Water pours out really smoothly as well and it makes for a nice drinking experience without needing to suck on the spout, which is preferable for me as I’m always rushing around and when I use this at the gym, I can drink easily whilst gasping for breath because I don’t need to suck on a spout or be too careful not to swig too big of a mouthful from an open bottle you know, first world problems!!!
It seems durable and I’ve accidentally ran my car keys along the side before and the paint hasn’t chipped or become scratched in the past few uses. I’m really happy with this and will continue to use it regularly.

A nice stainless steel water bottle, with a great fun Llama design. Thee Ion8 bottles really are great quality woth so many designs available.
The leak proof lid really works, and the 600ml capacity means you are half way through your daily recommended water intake before you know it.
Lid screws on and off easily and the press button flip lid is sturdy and feels built to last, as does the flip out carry loop thingy that clicks away securely when you put it back in your bag.
The only downside to these leak proof lids is when you drink from them you get a little birdy whistle type warble from the hole. This sounds a lot louder to you than the people around you of course, but is really the only thing that stops these being perfect.
I’m always on the lookout for good water bottles. I’ve tried a lot of different brands and styles and this one appealed to me because I was looking for a water bottle that would fit in my cupholder, and I wanted something that didn’t leak. I’m also a fan of llamas! Here’s what I thought of it.
Design and Functionality:

This bottle is beautiful and my daughter loves it. The alpaca pattern looks cool and it’s popular these days.
The lid is secured with lock. Firstly the slider button must be pulled down, and then bottle lid can easily be opened. Lid lifts up easily making the bottle easy to drink from. The overall design is great, bottle is good size of 600ml, perfect size for packed lunch. Bottle is made of stainless steel, free of metal flavour. That’s good to know that it’s made of strong material and safe same time.
There is no straw but simple mouthpiece which can be easily washed. The whole lid obviously is screwed to the rest of the bottle so also can be removed easily for wash.
Price wise- bottle is good value for money and I would surely recommend this bottle to everyone, especially kids and teenagers.
My daughter uses this for school. It fits perfectly in her bag and hasn’t leaked yet.
The body of the bottle is made from medal and is good quality. The lid is plastic and has a flip lid that reveals the drinking spout. The spout pours well.

It has a lovely fun Llama design which is pretty, so ideal for kids, or adults who love a cute design – this is for my adult daughter as she lost her unicorn bottle!!
The lid has a secure fastener so it doesn’t spill.
It is not thermal, so doesn’t keep drink hot, or cold, so its just more of a standard water bottle.
I do think its a little overpriced at 14.99 but it is adorable, so if its within your budget then its a great purchase.
I have had this brand before and found them very good, they insulate well and because of the spout design is pours smoothly which is especially good if you are pouring hot liquids .

Made really well with a great, fun design. The stainless Steel bottle is leak proof and dishwasher safe! The button is easy to press and there’s also a little loop to hold…I love using this as it keeps my water cool and its easy to hold, not bulky at all.
A firm favourite by my bedside this sensible stainless steel flask keeps water cold all night and cheers me up just to look at it! Slightly sticky opening at first but soon I worked out that you have to press on the click open button, not push it up! The carrying hook is handy and the quick flip open top perfect to drink from. Never put boiling hot drinks in without cold water or milk or your mouth could be scalded. This 600ml bottle 20 fluid oz is the size up from the ones suitable for primary school children or to be carried in a handbag. It truly doesn’t leak and the wide mouth when unscrewed makes it a doddle to clean. I love it!
Good quality bottle. The pattern is raised giving it a tactile feel and marginally aids grip. Easy slide and push button opening with a narrow spout for small mouths to drink from. It passed the “shake while upside down to see if it leaks” test. Ive dropped a star as I expected it to be insulated for the price and it isnt which is a shame as my little one enjoys warm blackcurrant cordial on chilly days.
This is for my llama obsessed daughter who is old enough to have outgrown such things. Very cute design and a beautiful water bottle. I have carried out my usual leak test and I can confirm that at present this is definitely leak proof. I have filled it with water and swung it around by its handle for a while and not a drop has leaked out. Yet another lovely flask in this range.
I love the vibrant colours on these ION8 water bottles they are so eye catching and what’s more they are really good quality too. The are definitely leak proof when fastened and easy to open with just the one hand. They also have a loop neatly fastened away which can be attached to your gym bag if you wish or just looped around the finger.
Ok this is a very cute llama water bottle. I got it for my daughter but this is perfectly fine for adults too. The llamas and cactuses are kind of textured and shiny. Pretty awesome.
The bottle is made of stainless steel and it doesn’t leave you with a funny taste. Just pure water flavour. The lid closes tightly and it’s leak proof.
It’s a very good size for day to day in my opinion.

I have a water bottle for every day of the week – actually, that’s a lie – for a week and a half I don’t know why I own so many but as someone that only drinks water, I always have one with me.
This particular bottle is really lovely and well designed.
The capacity is 600ml which is a first for me – the others I own are usually 500ml, 1l or 2l.
The body of the bottle is stainless steel and has the cutest design on it of llamas and cacti. The images are slightly textured and have a gloss finish on the matte body of the bottle.
One of my favourite features – and what drew me to this bottle in the first place – is the lid design. The silicone coated top screws on really tightly to the bottle body and to access the drinking spout, you click a wee button to release the top and it’s hinges are supported by springs so it all feels really sturdy and secure.
I’m really pleased with this bottle – I can’t really see any negatives to it at all.
