I recently got some jump ropes for indoor exercise for the winter. I have hardwood floors indoors so I am always cautious about stomping on it. This pad comes as a perfect accessory. I didn’t even know that it existed before! It provides the right amount of protection to the floor and absorbs the impact from jumping. It wasn’t that fun to jump on the hardwood floor anyways! The material seems really sturdy. I can even do my quick warm-up moves on it without pulling out my yoga mat. Good addition to have!
I have a home gym in my garage so this was perfect to place in my driver on the concrete to jump rope while working out.
It’s a winner.
Its nice and comfy, easy on the joints and does help when jumping rope.
Just keep in mind that it does snag occasionally. Other then that is great.
I bought this for my dad who is older and has sensitive ankles/calves. He has been doing jump roping lately but gets pain in his ankles and calves sometimes from it so I decided to get this for extra support and to prevent pain. He’s used it a few times and says its great! It doesn’t feel bouncy or cushiony, it feels like a regular floor but the force on your legs when you jump is reduced.
Thin enough but impact-absorbing. Not too hard on foot. Good for jump rope and simple pilates
This mat is pretty large and made extremely well and nicely padded. Feels good under your feet and helps with the noise as well. Nice exercise ma
The mat is surprisingly large and it does manage to dampen a lot of the sounds (especially since I’m in an apartment). It’s not overly firm but comfortable.
This is very comfortable since I workout in the basement. This gives me cushion so my knees dont hurt while jumping rope
Durable, comfortable and lays flat right out of the box
I got this for my wife who just started jump roping for exercise and I’m so glad that I got it for her. She was jumping in the backyard on a concrete pad and after she used this for the first time, she can’t jump without it. Beats jumping on the bare concrete pad. The mat is nicely padded and has an anti-skid backing. She also uses it to stretch and cool down after doing some cardio exercises. I use it when I lift weights to help absorb some of the weight under my feet instead of being directly on the concrete pad. I tend to drip sweat (a lot!) when I work out, so I’m glad that the mat is waterproof and can wiped down after each use. Comes with a Velcro strap to carry when rolled up and it also makes for easy storage. A multi-use mat that we will definitely get tons of use from.
This mat is very thick and feels sturdy. I’ve used it for light exercices and to test a new jumping rope I recently acquired. It’s a good exercise mat. I tested it for yoga and although it was more slippery than a traditional yoga mat, it can still be used that way if you’re in a pinch and don’t have anything else. It’s large and there’s plenty of room to jump on it. It does not feel cheap.
I will admit, when I first saw this, I only thought about the comfort my shins, ankles, and calves would have landing on a soft, padded mat instead of concrete. I thought with my legs and not with my mind.
After using this, everything I said above is true, except it is now harder to do jump ropes because the rope likes to snag on the mat occasionally. It isn’t that big of an issue, but when you’re doing jump rope, the point of it is to get into a rhythm and cruise. Not to keep getting interrupted because the mat snags the rope for an extra second and throws off your timing and now you have to readjust and start jumping all over again. I think in the long run, my legs will thank me for this mat, but in the short term, it can get frustrating lol
It makes a huge difference when I put it on carpet, my tile floors, or outdoors on the paved patio.
Great idea!
Storage — I just plop it in front of my kitchen sink next to the food prep area. It is a better anti-fatigue mat than most kitchen anti-fatigue mats. And the robot vacuum does not get stuck on this mat. The vacuum just sails right over it picking up dirt.
Very functional! Great addition to my exercise equipment and to my kitchen! Try it!
This mat is nice and very durable. It is easy to transport – it doesn’t weigh too much and rolls up nicely.
I have two issues with the mat. The first is that it is smaller than expected. My daughter is the person who works out the most in our house, and it’s a little too small for her. The second is that it is not as impact absorbent as expected.
The positives, as already mentioned, include its durability and the ease of transporting it. Other positives include that it if you are going to only use it for jumping rope or simple workouts, it is perfect. It does provide some cushioning that is not available on cement or hardwood floors.
I would recommend this mat to anyone looking for a simple workout mat.
I have a home gym and try to do as much cardio as possible indoors.
I like to jump rope but after a while, my floor gets the best of me and my ankles kill.
So, when I came across this item, I thought it was a brilliant idea and went ahead and ordered it.
It came last week and I am so thrilled with it!
First off, it is very, very heavy! The box was quite long and weighed a lot.
It is large as well, so make sure you have a good amount of room for it.
I loved it immediately. It was so great jumping rope and having it feel comfortable on my feet rather than a firm ground.
I have used it every day since I got it and I could not be happier with it.
I think if you’re into jumping rope, you will absolutely love it and it is totally a game changer.
I hope my review helps you to make it more well informed decision.
If you have a hard floor where you exercise and have enough head-room to jump rope, then this is going to be great for you. The foam is nice and thick to absorb the shock of jumping. It’s big enough that one doesn’t feel cramped and so one doesn’t feel the need to be hyper-focused on where one lands during jumping.
This mat rolls up for storage which is really nice.
It is perfect for hardwood surfaces. It is very sturdy and doesn’t slip or move around. It is ideal for planks, sit-ups, and other similar stomach and back exercises where your body is in constant contact with the floor. It provides a good cushion and relieves the pressures off of your elbows and joints. The size is good but not super long. If you stretch out to do a plank, your feet would land outside of the mat. It is not perfectly round, but t is oval shaped. it also comes with 2 Velcro straps for carry and storage. They fit but barely. They should be longer. The cleaning is pretty easy. It is exactly what I hoped it would be. It is the best yoga mat I have used.
Item does absorb jumps on it. Comes with Velcro strap to carry it around with after you roll it up.
I was interested in this after getting an exercise jump rope and finding out how hard it is on my ankles. I am pleased in how this actually does absorb impact and make it easier on my ankles. Some people have said that they find their jump rope getting caught on it. Must be the type of jump rope they might have because I had no problems with that. I am pleased and am more enthused about jump roping now that it is not killer on my ankles.
This mat is very durable and I like that it comes with a strap to carry it around or to help keep it stored! It is a good all purpose mat not only for jumping rope but also for plyo exercises when you want to reduce impact or a general mat for floor work as well. It is a decent size and a great addition to my workout room!
This mat is perfect for HIIT exercises at home, it doesn’t take up as much space as a yoga and it’s easy to move around or roll up. I can’t tell much how well it absorb shock because I wear sneakers when I work out but it does reduce some of the jumping impact on the floor.
The mat doesn’t come with carrying bag but rather a strap that you can use to carry the mat, similar to the yoga strap; however, the strap is not long enough to loop the around the mat on the two ends so it’s very much useless.
It’s overall a good mat, it’s just shame the strap that comes with it doesn’t fi
I was surprised that this doesn’t seem to absorb much impact. It helps for certain on hard surfaces (like a wood floor as i show in the photos) but it doesn’t cushion as much as i hoped. It is quite thin and a very dense material. I guess i expected it to be more porous and cushioning and bouncy, but it is just a firm, ,dense mat. Still, much better than just jumping on the floor. After jumping for awhile, i did have some tenderness and stiffness in my knee, where if i jump on a good yoga exercise mat, i can do a lot more jumping and impact exercise without the pain and stiffness noticed.
I do like that it is so mobile. You can roll it and stick it almost anywhere, and easily carry it to another room or outside (if your joints can stand the impact on a hard surface with just this mat, be careful!) to where you want it. It is not an anti-fatigue mat as it is very firm and i don’t think would help with foot or knee or back strain if you are standing on it a lot.
It’s a great idea, i wonder if the company could come up with another thicker version that would really help with impact as this is a great idea!
This is a nice addition to my exercise room. It is a big oval and has a nice pattern printed on the top. It is adequate in thickness. I thought it would be a bit softer, but perhaps it will not absorb impact if too spongy. This mat comes with a carry strap that can be attached if needed for travel or storage, but it is quite heavy, so I don’t see much need in the strap for my use and it will be staying in place. This is so much nicer than I have seen in other mats and I am happy with the quality.
I like to jump rope for cardio but even with good shoes I’m not a fan of the pressure it puts on my knees. This mat does a great job absorbing the impact. It’s a perfect size and shape and it rolls right up for storage. It comes with a Velcro strap to keep it rolled up. I wasn’t sure it would be cushy enough but it really is and I don’t want too cushy for jump rope. It also allows me to jump rope over carpet when that’s the only space available to me. This really is exactly what I was looking for.
It is nice to have something besides a cement floor to jump on but my rope catches on it so you don’t get a very good rhythm going, so it is a trade off.
