Met all expectations. Having two different baskets increases the variety of foods that can be cooked on the Joetisserie. Very solid construction and easy to use. Cleans up well by soaking in Dawn.
Very versatile and fully adjustable depths. You can even use adjustable flat basket on one side and adjustable cage on the other side if you wish. Tried this with one half chicken wings in basket (fully open so they would roll around) and breasts on the flat side clamped in so they stay put. Worked out awesome. Took the breasts off before 160 and seared on the grill grate to finish them off.
This thing is so well constructed and well designed!
I use the basket mostly (for chicken wings of course) and it produces wings that are crispy and evenly cooked. The trick is to assemble the basket so that you have the largest cubic area, allowing the wings to tumble around freely.
I’ve used the spit also, and the trick there is to make very sure your meat is firmly speared and that the prongs are very tight on the spit. Otherwise you’ll be cooking cave man style.
Last, be sure to spray all parts with Pam or another oil spray, as it makes clean up effortless. When I’m done and everything is cool, I spray the basket & frame with some Dawn PowerWash, rinse it with hot water and put everything into the dishwasher. Comes out looking brand new.
Best wings I have ever eaten! This basket is built really well. Tip – Get 5 gallon bucket to fill with soapy water. Soak for 15 minutes and cleanup is a breeze. I did 5 pounds it 1.25 hours. Family very pleased and astonished. 2nd batch was 7 pounds and wow
Pretty good design for basket, a little difficult sometimes to lock it into the holder. We use this all the time and whatever is cooked in it turns out really well and juicy.
I love using the Joetisserie on my XL Big Green Egg but wasn’t happy with my older baskets. I purchased these and have stopped using my older baskets. There’s so many ways to set up the baskets for different uses. I highly recommend spraying the baskets and rod with oil before using for easy clean up.
Arrived on time, easy to assemble and a great addition for my kamado joe.
Like all KJ original accessories, this truly is built to last. Very impressed with the build quality. Should last many years.
