I am mainly using it to blast weeds in drive away and wash off moss on patio. It does a job as good as when I get the professionals but even better as it can be used with my low water pressure when the professionals can’t.
I was after a new pressure washer as my old one had given up. I mainly wanted it mainly to clean my Indian stone patio but also for the car and windows etc. I was a little dubious about buying this with it being small and having 110 bar as needed to have a decent amount of pressure to blast the dirt off my patio. I need not have worried as my video clip shows it cleaned my patio effortlessly and I was well happy with the results, it’s a great little pressure washer and for 75 a bargain! The only slight gripe I have is there is not a holder on the washer for the lance. If you don’t mind that it’s a great piece of kit.
I bought this for my husband’s birthday (he did ask for a pressure washer as opposed to socks). He opened it and set it up for the first time 2 days ago. The washer worked very well; the patio looks great. However, the handle snapped as he tried to fix it on and so this made it awkward to carry. I contacted the manufacturers, ie Karcher and explained what happened with photographic evidence. They have not even bothered to reply.
I contacted Amazon, who also contacted Karcher. Karcher were not prepared to send us a strap/handle as a replacement. Really bad customer Service all round by this company. However, Amazon sorted the situation immediately. We had a great customer service lady to speak to from Amazon, and as always they rectified the situation. Thank you Amazon! Not impressed Karcher!
So I previously had the K7 model, which of course is more powerful and has more features, however it is also MASSIVE and takes up so much storage space, it is much heavier and honestly much harder to use because of this.
My K7 has lasted me around 5 years, maybe longer. The power switch on the front eventually broke and I have no time to get it fixed/attempt a fix myself at the moment, hence my K2 purchase.
Whilst I know this model is somewhat of a downgrade, it is perfect for washing my car. It’s lightweight, takes up much less storage space and puts out good pressure (on our water pressure output from our garden tap anyway, obviously this may differ elsewhere).
I store my pressure washers inside always, as the winter can cause water to freeze internally in them and break the plastic pipes/parts within, thus breaking the pressure washer – make sure you store it in the house or in a heated garage. If you can’t do this, then drain it as much as possible and wrap it in a duvet/raise it up off the ground and try other tricks you can find lots of information about online.
Obviously the K2 is no industrial type of pressure washer, however I believe for washing the cars and the occasional round the house/garden/driveway usage, it’s absolutely perfect.
I paired my machine with a longer, 15 Metre hose you can buy relatively cheaply on the likes of eBay (unofficial Krcher version) to make getting around the entire car (SUV type car) without moving the machine itself, which makes things MUCH easier!
Hopefully this one will last a similar, if not longer, amount of time.
Bought this to clean concrete paths, instead of using “nasty chemicals” to remove unsightly & dangerously slippy moss. With ear defenders & safety goggles on its a joy to blitz the gunge.
Surprised by ease of use and power output.
Would recommend this unit. Cleans concrete driveway and paths easily .
Patio slabs good but watch out if old cement grouting it may loosen it.
Does the job cleaning the car and driveway. I replaced the 4m hose with a 15m as the original is too short and refuses to straighten out making it awkward and a trip hazard.
My only real complaint is the plastic locking clips that hold the hose onto the gun and main unit. They are cheap plastic and a pain to open and close. I’ve already had to buy pattern parts as they break easily. The unit is light, portable and reasonably powerful. Other than the silly clips I love using it.
Bought this to get rid of the moss that seems to be everywhere, once i,d got a hose & tap connector sorted, actually realised i had coloured slabs, could see the dirt & grime being blasted off, no more moss on the path or yard. cleaned it all off, wished i,d got one sooner. decent kit at a reasonable price. some of the instructions were a little vague but all in all GREAT
I’m very impressed with the Karcher pressure washer considering it’s such a small size it’s remarkably powerful, perfect for my patio and path it cleaned it in no time it comes with some basic tools, l think it’s worth every penny and would highly recommend
we had to buy a new one as our old(8 years ) karcher died after leaking for years( our own fault as we left it out in the shed in the heavy frost which killed the seal)
So we spend and bought this cheap little karcher which does the job better than the old bigger and more expensive karcher we owned before!
Great piece of equiptment!
Two nozzles – the high power one clears thick moss and also weeds between slabs, using a clever ‘focussing’ technique. The other one is good for windows etc. The instruction manual is difficult to decipher and doesn’t highlight the dangers of mixing mains electricity and water – that’s a worry.
Can’t believe how good this is, especially since it’s so tiny. I paid someone 80 five years ago to clean my flagstones and they’ve not been cleaned since then. Decided to take the chance and buy this, and it’s just lifted 5 years worth of dirt like it was nothing. Blasted away all the weeds too (found it easier to do with the Dirtblaster attachment rather than the high pressure nozzle). Very easy to clean the grime off the surface of the stones, takes a bit of effort to get dirt out of little depressions in the flagstones if they’re the rough, uneven ones – you have to get super close with the power jet, but it does the job. Also blasts away some of the white lichen, which I was told you need chemicals to sort that out. No chemicals here. Now I’ve lifted 5 years worth of muck, I’ll give the flagstones a quick, annual wash in spring and I reckon that will be enough to maintain beautiful, clean buff stones. Worth the investment, will save a fortune and has already paid for itself.
Don’t be fooled by the size and power or the K2, we’ve used ours for most standard domestic needs (including paint stripping old garden with ease!) and it performs admirably. Don’t get me wrong, the more powerful machines may do the job quicker and easier, but ignorance is bliss and this cleans our cars, makes the patio and drive look like new and is small lightweight and costs less than 70!
I am interested in how powerful other more expensive models are in case I’m missing a trick but I’d strongly recommend this unit.
This is a great compact pressure washer, I find it easier to use as the pressure gun is smaller and the lead doesn’t get tangled as much as the bigger K2. It has enough power to clean patio, car and woodwork plus easy to carry round. Also the price is reasonable
Had my old Karcher fir a long time before it gave up! Thought I’d try a more compact model and this one’s excellent, has as much power as the old one, but half the weight, ideal for my home needs
I think this is probably Karchers cheapest model, but it has done an excellent job cleaning ingrained dirt from my patio: It has restored the colour of the stones, so the patio looks new again. Was pleasantly surprised at how effective it is!
I watched a few videos of one of these in action, showing the transition from filthy to perfectly clean in the blink of an eye. I was dubious. Nothing could work that well. But this actually does. The handheld piece vibrates. A lot. Which means it’s probably not a good idea to use the pressure washer for long periods at a time. But it does such an amazing job that I wish I had some ‘before and after’ pics to share.
Once I connected up correctly it worked okay. Have jet washed car be careful of wheel rims it did take off coating. Did a very good job on our paving slabs and concrete paths. Be careful protect your plants covered them in grit.
Bought this as an upgrade and it’s the best jet wash I’ve had, very easy to set up and use without a hassle, quite powerful and even better to store with it being compact. Would recommend
I will update this the next time I wash my car but at the moment it’s not sucking up the soap from karchers own, seems like an air lock keep you posted
Having spent 170.00 on a emergency drain jetting call out last year I decided to buy this pressure washer and a drain jetting kit. Did the job well. The pressure washer is easy to assemble, simple to use and did everything I need. I can’t see myself needing all the fancy attachments you get with other kits so this was great value for my needs.
First time purchasing a pressure washer and using it also. For such a small size the power of it is amazing. It also pulled up weeds!
It requires a hose with a female connection. Also once registered with Karcher online you have 2 years warranty directly with them.
See my before and after picture.
My garden slabs were put down 6 years ago and the dirt just came off like magic. Didn’t use anything else but the Karcher washe
I was a little concerned about buying the lowest price in the range but it’s be excellent for jet washing the patio, drive and car. That’s all I want it for, so perfect. One gripe – the locking mechanism when fixing the attachment is really fiddly and, to me, very annoying. Karcher could, I’m sure, find a better way. Hence 4 stars and not 5.
I choose this myself and bought it with some of my Christmas money my partner gave me. My old pressure washer from AA lasted years. I was using it one day and it started screeching with smoke billowing out, I thought it was going to blow up, but it finished cleaning the car first. Not wanting to risk using it again, I found this Karcher k2 Compact washer for a good price, so ordered it. I’ve not used it yet due to the bad weather, but I know it’s going to be just what I needed, it’s compact, although it could do with some wheels so it moves around without falling over. Overall I’m very happy with purchase, after having some bad experiences with using drive through car washes, they are ok taking your money, not very helpful if you complain your cars not been washed properly. I now wash my car myself, save money and have satisfaction with the end results, although you have to put in a bit of elbow grease it’s worth it. I don’t waste money and I get some exercise at the same time.
I’ve never owned a pressure washer so can’t compare it’s performance to any others but I’ve only seen great results so far from this one! (See photos & videos attached).
Would have rated 5 stars, but similar to others experiences, I’ve seen less water pressure power each time I’ve used it (a total of three times now). The first time was incredible, but the 2nd and 3rd time have been a bit temperamental. Before purchasing I read from the reviews that after finishing with the device, it’s important to release the water pressure by turning off water supply and releasing the water from its tank until empty (usually takes around 15 – 30 seconds).
I’ve been doing this after each use but still finding I’m having issues with the next use. The start up was also slower on the 3rd use… Not sure why this happens but I’m still able to get good results from it and just glad the gardens looking a lot fresher now!
