Stepson is not a child anymore, he enjoys Star Wars and wanted to build this model. He spent hours on it and the quality was brilliant and the movement in the model are good too.
Well Built, Display Item. Feels delicate but is sturdier than it seems. Can give it different expressions
Didn’t really have much to do with this one but my son was very happy…
il prodotto davvero ben fatto, non molto grande cos da poterlo sistemare un po dove si vuole ed possibile girare alcune delle sue parti.
Well worth the pennies! He’s a great little model and really sturdy while still being posable.
Erg leuk om te bouwen met interessante Lego bouwtechnieken en zeer displaywaardig. Voor liefhebbers van de videogame Star Wars Jedi Fallen Order een must-have!
Overall this is an incredible set, as someone who has played the fallen order game it perfectly replicates the function and form of BD-1. Its a pretty strong set but the only complaint would be his head is slightly too wobbly. This can be fixed very easily by exchanging one technic pin. On the whole, a very good set.
You could argue that the droids of star wars are what make star wars and are often the stand out chareters of the films/shows,Such as R2-D2,C3P0,K2S0,ChopperBB8.
BD-1 is definatly a stand out chareter he was introduced in the Fallen Jedi Game which I played On the xbox as Kal’s companion, He or a simular droid also cameos alongside the Mandolorian on the disney tv seris. Hes a great little droid/charecter as soon as I seen lego were making a model of him he was a must have for my collection.
Yet again another quality product by lego and a great build, Looks great next to my UCS R2-D2.
I purchased this ,for my son, for Christmas. He spent most of the day building it, at a slow and steady pace. It was very easy to build and the quality was up to the ,fantastic, lego standard. The small attention to detail with the little plaque is a nice ,little, touch. It will go well with my son’s Star Wars collections. 5*+
Took a few hours to build across two evenings, the instruction booklet is clear and detailed, with an additional full index of all the individual bricks included, and there’s the small minifigure version included too. I’ve never been a Lego person but had a lot of fun building him and enjoyed that almost as much as owning the finished product, though I do think he is a little overpriced.
Some overall notes on the build:
– Due to the nature of the design and the heavy head-piece, he does have some wobbly movement when complete. He’s still very stable and won’t easily knock over, and personally I think the slight motion adds to the character.
– He is not fully poseable. The head joint allows it to tilt back and forward, then side to side, but his head cannot rotate around. The legs move at the hip joints on two axiis, and there is a tiny degree of movement in the feet when they take weight, but they cannot be manipulated at the knee or ankle areas and are set at fixed angles.
– There’s the fun addition of a little compartment in his head to hold health stim cannisters, which is a nice addition and nod to the game
– The red coloured elements forming the design seem to be (to someone who doesn’t do much Lego) fairly easy to swap out for pieces bought in another colour, for anyone who wants to customise the end result a little.
The design accuracy is pretty good and true to the in-game design, though not perfect. Personally I think this is most noticeable in the feet, which have a design I really like on the rear toe part, but are more simple and boxy at the front. There is also more of the inner build exposed and visible at the back, where the front has a more finished look. It could perhaps have done with a few more pieces here and there – like the top of the headpiece which would have been easy enough to cover the studded panel with a flat piece to complete the look. Given the nature of the droid, some of the exposed look could be fitting, however.
I’m very happy to finally have a model of this guy – and almost life-size too. Really enjoyed the build process as well, but the set could have been improved in a couple of places, and I may at some point get a couple of other bricks for finishing touches. Given the limited poseability it may work better as a display model and leads me to think the full price is just a bit steep.
