The 34WP88C-B cost 3x more, is IPS and has an ERGO stand but honestly, I prefer this cheaper 34WR50QC thanks to 100hz refresh. There isn’t much in it from a picture point of view. Both are great but this is excellent for the money.

Easy to set up (not that there is much set up). Light in weight. Very clear. Can easily split the screen and still read all documents on display. I don’t do gaming, so I did not rate on the gaming option.

Good image. Really useful. Iuse it for hole working. It allows me to have a web browser (Where most of my week applications live) at “full size” and still have space for Teams right next to it. The effect of this is a much better feeling of working with people face to face because ino longer have to decide between working in an app or seeing my customer.
The only downside I’ve fond is they the sound is a little unnatural. Its perfectly clear, but somehow a little “tinny”.
Great for multitasking. I had a 34-inch way back and still use it someplace else. I love the size of the 26 inch
It’s a good screen… whish I’d bought the UHD / 4k… I use it for UX/UI design work and having higher res would help. But it’s still good for money and video games/video editing
I’m using this monitor for work and the Picture Mode “Reader” is good to take care of your eyes.
Every now and then a pop-up appears asking you to confirm that you are at the pc and this is nice to save energy, but I didn’t expect to find on the box the Energy Efficiency Rating Label (EPC) displaying a sad “E”.
Synced up the colour profiles and turned on vivid mode and it makes quite a nice pair, but not nearly as bright as the MBP – hence 4*.
This is as described. I use it for zoom meetings but is good for extending any visuals.
I use it every day and happy with the quality.
This monitor is a lovely size the quality and clarity is excellent either great colours, there is nothing not to like, I find LG products to be really good I also have an LG Smart TV which is brill.
Love this monitor. Use it for remote working and I can use the new windows function so it acts like 2 monitors since it’s so wide. Recommend for anyone that has limited space and needs more screens.

Arrived swiftly and was easy to set up, still mastering the settings but very pleased.
Decent speakers when compared to other built ins. Ultrawide is great for productivity and most games, good colours and 75hz refresh is fine for gaming. Good value. Unfortunately the screen is not very bright.

I am using it with a MacBook that has a broken screen.
The cable for the mains plug was a little short at first, because I set it up on the floor initially before I got my desk because I couldn’t wait lol, but now I have an extension plug under my desk that it can connect to which makes it way easier, and I’ve had no problems at all.
My only complaint is that it has no speakers, and since there’s no aux port and finding speakers/a soundbar that connect through HDMI seems virtually impossible, I can’t have any sound when I connect my nintendo switch to my monitor to play. Which was a little disappointing, but considering the price of the monitor I can’t really complain much – I don’t have a lot of money and this thing makes me feel expensive even with my tiny setup lol, so I can deal with sound only coming from my laptop and having no sound for my switch for that price.
But yeah, for PC gaming I have no complaints whatsoever, I only took one star off of the gaming scare because of the whole ‘no sound when I wanna play my switch docked’ thing. Like I said, can’t complain with the price, but it technically does make the gaming experience slightly worse when it comes to my switch.
There’s also the thing it does where it’ll be like ‘monitor turn off in one minute, press any button to keep power on’ or something even when I’m using it or there’s a video playing on it. I think it does it every few hours, which I wouldn’t mind if it only did it when it wasn’t actively being used lol but it’s just regardless of use. A little annoying, but not really a real problem, honestly.
There are also small black bezels that appear around the screen, when turned off it looks almost bezel-less but when you turn it on the border of the screen stays black, but it’s not terrible or anything, just something that certain people might be bothered by. Doesn’t bother me tbh, I barely noticed it.
Overall though I freaking love this monitor. It’s one of the best things I’ve bought for myself in a while, it makes computer work so much easier and it feels cool being able to fit so many windows on my screen when I’m only used to having a single laptop screen lol.
I picked this one up in the sale for my main rig, as I needed to use one of my existing monitors on a different rig.
I didn’t want to break the bank and am very happy with 1080p… this one appealed with it’s 2560 * 1080 resolution as you get a good chunk of extra screen real estate to play with (handy for gaming, even handier for my job as a software dev).
The screen itself is pretty good. Very easy to set up and with a nice simple control in the centre front to tweak it to your preference. It took me a while to get the right settings, though I did go with one of the pre-sets which just a tiny bit of tweaking for me. I’m used to a screen that’s a bit brighter but otherwise am really pleased. The colours on this screen are really good, that leads to several games (tested Halo Infinite, Deathloop , Age of Empires and Flight Sim) looking very pretty.
Can’t comment on reliability but I will check back in if there is an issue there as I have recently had issues with a 2017 LG 4K panel that died due to LED backlight failure so am hoping LG aren’t hitting reliability issues.
As it stands though, great screen, ideal for my needs and a very fair price.
Been using for a month now – it’s on pretty much full day and night and didn’t see alarming monthly jump in smart meter I have.
Easy assembly. Stand assembly is easy. No height adjustment in stand but can tilt. Box to play in less than 2 mins.
Spent like 3 weeks reviewing various options and screens and finalised this. Happy with my choice !!!
I love this monitor. the configuration is easy via a “one joystick” type device under the monitor. it’s nothing special as such, although it is a nice width (2560×1080 screen display) and having custom screen settings for brightness/contrast etc is a benefit. there a various options for the screen settings available via the menu including a “GAME” option although I’ve never used that so can’t give a true rating on how it handles games.
it has a nice headphone socket, which if your using HDMI seems to work without issue.
The size and shape of the monitor are slim with a relavitely small foot for the monitor to rest on.
I can recommend this monitor for video editors, and for photo editing also because with this screen size you get to see what your photo looks like in a more natural situation, with the menus being on the left or right (depending on your editor) – which you don’t really see on a 1920×1080 (or less) monitor.
The only things which let this down is there is no built in speaker , and the only connections are HDMI – of which there are two (excluding the headphone socket which I mentioned ealier)
Note I gave the game rating a 3 star, purely because I’ve never played any on it plus it seems to have a 5ms response time which seems very slow for gaming; for other media types it seems to be good.
One final thing I must say is “you get what you pay for”; if you need a state of the art 8k monitor for your art school photoshop project, then this isn’t the monitor for you. however, if you do a lot of photo or video editing then jump in, I’m confident this display will give you what you want, especially with the larger display.
With the chrome extension it slightly stretches the screen so i nice pert bum looks a bit fatter and stretched hahaha. It kinda kills the mojo. The other option is upscale which keeps the 21.9 but you lose top and bottom content especially if there is wording on the screen. Next purchase might have to be a 4k if my pc can handle it.
It comes with a software DVD – very 1999 (I can almost the Sunny Delight) – but the LG software can be downloaded from their own website. I couldn’t get it to work so I’m using Windows 10 SnapImage.
Sound is surprisingly robust with plenty of depth – perfect for the radio. I’m not a gamer per se, but I can imagine that, for the cost, the latest hit version of Bubble Bobble would sound pretty incredible on this.
All in all, very happy with this. I’m also using it as my writing screen for my next literary masterpiece as it makes research and writing so easy.

If you run linux with any kernel less than 4.5.7 it should work ‘out of the box’ at 2560×1080, any later kernel and the best you will see is 1920×1080. When bought was running linux mint 18.3 (with a 4.4 kernel), problems started when I upgraded to LM19.0 (4.15 kernel).
The fix is straightforward (but took some time to find), add the following two lines into /home/you/.profile

replacing HDMI-2 with the port the monitor is on.
Think the problem is that when you read the edid, the ‘preferred mode’ is mode 11 (1920×1080), not mode 0 (2560×1080).
Another thing that bugged me was – in my sound settings it shows up as HDMI built in audio. Could never get it to work (same with win). The reason is simple, there are NO speakers, plug external speakers/headphones into the headphone socket on the rear and you will get sound!
So I game quite a lot, watch movies and use PS. After much deliberation and using my back up 19 inch LG widescreen monitor for about 12 weeks ( which I also bought at the same time as my weirdly named 27 inch widescreen monitor) I just couldn’t take looking at it anymore, it was making me depressed. So I decided to go for ultra-wide and I knew it was between LG and Samsung, two of my favourite brands.
I finally decided to go with LG but I was torn between the 25 inch and the 29 inch. I read review after review and then finally read reviews on Amazon. I live in a small to medium sized apartment and my PC is in my bedroom and along with a kingsize bed and a fitted wardrobe there’s just enough space for my huge comfy chair I use to sit at my desk.
I also keep my PC on top of my desk as I won’t taint my reputation as being a PC floor dweller, no thank you, I’m of a better breed than that. I soon realised that I could only fit the 25 inch on my desk. But that’s enough origin story, let’s get to the point and why you are reading this.
I am hardly able to express into words how much I love this monitor, the 25 inch seems huge, movies are a dream to watch and so is gaming. You can choose to game either at 60hz or 75hz so your game play is liquid smooth,like the abs of a spartan warrior. The colours are amazing,vivid and the deep blacks are true, like the longing of wanting to turn to the dark side of the force.
It offers different preset modes such as cinema, reading (so as not to strain your eyes) and even has a booster feature for when you are playing really dark games so you can make out enemies or other players hiding in dark places. This is all done with just a tap of the button.
The menu is simple to use,just press and select, I wish I had this feature when choosing to date someone, but I digress. Whichever model you choose you will be very pleased I can assure you. LG have got your back when it comes to ultra-wide and for this girl, I’m never going back to “normal” widescreen. I have been converted and heard and seen the good works of our lord and saviour LG.
Buy it, you won’t regret it, even if you are a nefarious shadow organisation bent on dominating and enslaving the human race.
First of all – Packaging
– Felt quite strong – I carried it with one hand from the delivery location (as my current address does not have the facility of leaving the parcels safe somewhere.
– Insides of the box – the panel was very well protected and all the other bits that came with it (driver, quick start guide, HDMI cable) were easily openable
Moving on the product itself:
– It came very well wrapped in plastic foils all-round so you will not have any unpleasant unboxing surprises.
– The first impression for the build quality was very strong and I love it! :X (old Yahoo! Messenger emoticon for love)
Mounting:
– Easy-peasy, even though you will leave some fingerprints on the stand, foot & monitor (inherent)
IMPORTANT BIT: INSTALL THE PROVIDED DRIVER & OnScreen SOFTWARE – if you don’t have an optical drive/DVD reader/blu-ray ready, the necessary files can be downloaded from LG website quite easily (make sure you click them, not Middle-Click them)
Build quality:
– Truly solid, for the price, you cannot get anything better
Image quality:
– I find it very pleasing and not overly-processed or overly-saturated – I MUST SAY it’s the first time I truly enjoy using a monitor
– Natural Colours, has its own colour profile if you want to experiment and so on;
– The ultra-wide experience cannot be replaced by a 4K (which I think it’s an overkill for the normal user, such as myself)
OSD & Navigation;
– The single button for everything placed under the ‘chin’ is a brilliant idea as you do not have to guess which button you press – it’s 5-directional (left, right, backwards, forwards, push) and it offers you quick access to the OSD menu;
– The possibility of having the OSD also as a piece of software – to me it’s a big bonus!
Connectivity:
– 2 HDMI ports should be absolutely sufficient for most of the PC setups (I really do not see the point in going crazy about having only HDMI when it’s such a spread connector)
– HDMI jack is a good bonus, hence I connected one of my Sharkk Boombox Buddy speakers to it and placed on the stand as you can see in the pictures attached (I have not charged them in almost 1 MONTH now)
Overall, AMAZING VALUE FOR MONEY!!!
It gave my laptop a new life as I was getting tired of using such a lowsy display with almost no contrast and very low brightness.
PROs:
The colours are good out of the box, i seriously doubt the 99% sRGB claim made, but it is more than usable for video/photo editing.
There were no dead pixels, and it will hopefully stay this way.
Ghosting is not an issue, even with the 5ms latency, i have not noticed any lag or ghosting while playing games.
Cons:
(we have bought two of these monitors, and both have these problems to a different extent)
There is ONE major downside that i have experienced with these monitors:
There is light bleed in the corners and sides on 2 of these monitors we bought, visible especially on black. They produce a slight colour shift on whites. I consider this to be a production defect. Considering how wide the screen is, i haven’t found this to be a problem even when working with pictures, but it is something to keep in mind if you are precise about colour. This wouldn’t be acceptable on a 16:9 monitor, but for an ultrawide, it makes much less of a negative impact. They are a little bit different on both of our monitors, so one has to see for yourself, although most people probably won’t even notice.
If you plan on playing videogames and watching movies on this, i can’t recommend it enough. For professional use, you might want to ask yourself whether the ultrawide aspect ratio of the monitor is worth the drawbacks.
For its price I am extremely impressed with this monitor. The image clarity is exceptional and due to this I run many great games without Anti Aliasing and the edge quality is still nice and sharp. This is great for two reasons the first being that AA set to OFF increases performance and if AA is going to be used the setting only needs to be x2 at most, which can help with performance if the OFF setting shows too many artefacts on edges against transparent backgrounds (Older Unreal games suffer from this a lot).most decnt AAA games run natively in 21:9 but some don but there is an app called flawless widescreen fix which helps with a good bunch of older games (see at the bottom of this review for supported games). The menu offers decent and many colour options, including tertiary colour settings on top of the standard R G B so you can really go to town on setting the thing up. Think of it as an in screen SweetFX Technicolor/Cineon DPX tweak (if your familiar with the software)
My gripe is that Windows/Desktop apps are not using the entire screen. There are a few centimetres on each vertical bezel edge unused by the screen which is a shame as the physical bezel edge is very thin and would make for superb triple screen setups if the screen actually went to the very edge. In fact its such a shame for LG because at these prices, if they were using the entire panel they would be without a doubt the best selling wide screen IPS monitors period as they priced so damn well and are very good despite the small unused area.

Project cars –
Looks ace. If you decide to use AA then you dont really need anything other than the MSAA setting
Witcher 3 –
Looks great & with no AA except hair edges and some trees against the sky at certain angles. The in game post processing AA (SMAA) gets rid of this and is minimal on FPS
Gamestock Car Extreme/AMS –
AA is needed to be forced on. by setting in Nvdia CPL/AMD CC – it doesn’t looks good default. Widescreen works fine once you set it in the launch config.
Borderlands 2 –
Works straight out the box , just set the res in the start up config. Even in game FXAA inst needed. Edges look fine. UI is set to 16:9 .You cant set the UI to go to the edge of your screen but you can reduce the size and position well enough. Top and bottom UI is fine
