The product description was exact. It arrived when it was supposed to and works great. Battery was included which is a nice touch. I’ve already used it and love the ease and accuracy of it.
I was very pleasantly surprised at the quality and functionality of this pinpointer. It easily detected items in the ground and in the dirt plug about 1-2 inches from the detector. The holster and lanyard are a nice bonus as well. The owner’s manual was surprisingly useful also. Again, not expected at all and worth the time to review. I would not have learned about the “Detuning” function. Not sure I would trust the “Waterproof”ness of it though.
This pinpoint tool is easy to use and quite accurate for the price. The proximity of the target is quickly identified by the speed of the beeping. It made it very easy to sort out the target from all the dirt!
It does what it’s supposed to do within a few inches and since it’s a free-flowing sweep you can fairly easily determine the hits on point. It’s a good price (at the moment I bought it) for what it does. I’m using it for standard purposes, but also to find nails in a garden surround before I take a chainsaw to it. Worth the money for sure when it comes to safely ripping something down with a chainsaw.
I have been detecting for more than 20 years. I have found as much as just about anybody and more than most. I have tried a few popular pinpointers. I buy these and I use them. I don’t see the value for spending more money. I have several and I like them.
For the price this pointer does exactly what I need which is to pinpoint my finds while metal detecting. Works great and no problems yet. I have one objection and that is that it’s advertised as waterproof but it is not. You can only insert the tip (ahem). If you read the whole ad carefully it does state that but it’s very misleading to call it waterproof.
Easily picks out small pieces of metal that have been buried a long time. I’d never recognize them as metal with the naked eye.
I bought this to go along with my new detector, having never had one before. It does exactly what it is supposed to do and does it reliably and easily. Don’t pay more…. this one does the job! I recommend it!

I like that it comes with a 9v battery so I can use it straight out the box without having to search for a battery.
It also comes with a holster, which clips around my belt so I don’t have to put the metal detector down whilst digging a hole.
It’s simple and easy to use and I like that I can use the side of the metal detector to search larger areas then I can use the very tip of the detector to pinpoint an object.
I think the led is also a very handy feature when trying to find a smaller objects
Overall it works well and I am happy with it.

Very accurate, good for pinpointing in a hole when metal detecting.
Firstly, it comes well packaged in a tall rectangular box. It is very easy to setup, all you have to do is screw out the bottom, insert the two included battery and voila its ready. I took this to the beach and my kids loved it. We had a great time and found an interesting object. All in all kids loved it and it does what it says well.
I did test this pin pointer on a variety of different metals & it detected every single one of them with ease.
It starts to detect from roughly 3inches away.
It picked up all the various coins i had in my wallet from a one pence piece right up to a two pound coin, it also detected a couple of gold rings & a silver necklace as well as some other metals like aluminium cans & steel ect.
Over the weekend as a fun little game/real world test i also hid some pocket money a few inches down in a couple of planter pots i was starting to prepare & set my little niece the task of trying to find it with the pin pointer & being able to keep what she found, needless to say she found every coin i hid, so it’s definitely simple to use & effective.
One feature i thought was pretty cool was how it beeps & vibrates at different speeds depending on the distance from an object.
From roughly 3inches away it will start to beep & vibrate slowly but as it gets closer to the object it gets a little faster & then when your within an inch of the object it will beep & vibrate really fast.
In the box you get the pin pointer detector, a battery, a spring lanyard cord & a carry holster that can be attached to your belt.
Overall i thought this was a pretty decent little pin pointer.
It was easy to use & worked really well.
So far i’ve been really happy with it.
This is a lightweight metal sensor. It works fine and detects well. It just doesn’t have a very large range, you have to be about 1cm away from the item for it to activate. It’s fun for the kids but you are not going to go metal detecting in the garden with it.
Ideal for treasure searches with the kids, priced at just 17.99 it would make an excellent gift. Easy to use and functions well.

Having been detecting for a lot of years now i have Used and tried a lot of pinpointers over the years, This 1 is basically a copy of a top branded pinpointer that is like 5 x times the price, This one is obviously nowhere near as a good or built as well but for the price it you cannot complain, It does work just not as accurate or as deep but it would be goo for the kids or if your just starting the hobby on a budget but i would say if you can afford it go for the expensive one if not this would put you on and is better than no pinpointer at all.
This is more of an aid for detectorists rather than the primary tool. It does not detect metal at a 10m depth, as suggested by the seller. 10cm would be more like it! That’s not such a terrible thing, though, as it would be impossible to use if it was that sensitive. I was surprised that it could find a tiny screw, I dropped yesterday, that I couldn’t find at the time.
The detector arrives in a retail box along with a battery, a sprung lanyard, a holster, and an instruction sheet. It’s nice to see batteries being included. It’s easy to fit by opening the barrel end screw top.
The detector is pretty much an all-plastic construction. This does make it nice and lightweight, without the feeling it will break too easily. Operation is simple as it has a single push button operated on/off switch. It has an LED light for confirming the power is on and also acting as a search light at the same time.
Overall, a highly portable metal detector. I hope that helps.
Really good handheld metal detector,my kids have been using this in the garden as I’ve been digging it up and they have been going through it with the detector so far they have found a few coins and some metal pieces so works great.
I would class this as a fun metal detector than a professional type unit, yes it picks up gold and other types of metal but the accuracy at depth isn’t great, over 5cm then it doesn’t always pick up metal unless it’s large part. 4 stars for the price

This comes with everything you need to get started. It is an easy set and you can get started straight away. My 10 year old absolutely loves this, she spent her time exploring and finding things that are metal.
This would make a great stocking filler or a great gift for a pre teen.
This is a simple and accurate metal detector, pin point accuracy with vibration and beep alert.
Front part 3″ of the case is tough plastic and seamless, no chance of water ingress there, rest of the device would be splash proof at best.
Depends on size of metal being detected, it will pick up signal around 3″ from metal surface.
Bright orange and with waist clip, less chance of misplacing it on site or at beach.
As somebody new to the hobby of metal detecting, I didn’t realise the amount of kit the hobby needs 😀
Some of it is very expensive so being able to pick a pinpointer up at a reasonable price is great.

Find something with your metal detector, pinpoint where it is with this. Claims it has 10m depth range, I’ve not found this to be the case I think they missed the C out, as it seems to have around 5-10 cm range
Easy to use, feels good isn’t cumbersome and basically just works as you’d expect.
Handy little tool to have if you use a full sized metal detector to help pin point a find, this one is very cheap compared to the more professional and well know makes but it works really well, just press the button on comes a little torch light and then just poke it around in the soil to locate that hit, it bleeps when it’s with an inch or so of metal, it can be used just on it’s own but it will only locate metal objects in a tight range, it has a scraper edge to scrap soil away comes with a belt pouch to keep it handy, no complaints about this device it works.
This is great for finding nails or metal in my wood before i put it through my thickness planer. Very good at finding them and saving me on new blades too. Comes with battery too.

Wanted to review this as have a full size one and looked so handy to pin point treasure easily without digging up all the mud,sand etc as use the bigger one for main use then pin point exactly where the treasure is

My grandchildren had great fun going around the garden today finding everything metal. The detector is really simple to use you literally switch it in and when it finds metal it screams at you.
I can imagine children having great fun with one of these on the beach searching for list treasures.

The description says it’s a professional metal detector but in all honesty I think this is more of a child’s toy.
A bright orange pin-pointer metal detector, suitable for the metal detectorist, or for general finding metal objects, such as in the garden, beach or house.
The pin-pointer can be used by pointing the tip into the soil, or waving it sideways, sweeping for objects, it even has a scraping blade to help move soil.
The device comes with a 9v PP3 battery and a coiled lanyard. The battery is easy to fit, just unscrew the cap and slot it inside, point the larger terminal of the battery to the larger hole on the devices contacts. You also get a holster to put on your trouser belt, to keep it secure on you until needed.
Unfortunately the only negative I can find with it, is that you have to be fairly close to the object, almost touching it, before it picks it up, I would have expected it to start working from at least 3-6inches away, certainly not up to 10m that they state.
Other than that, I’m sure I’ll find it handy, especially metal detecting on the beach.
Anyone who is looking at this GP Pointer will know what it does and also that it is heavily influenced by another market-leading brand which costs nearly 8 times as much. But, is a cheap pinpointer able to match the performance of the brand leader? In a word, yes!
Pinpointers are for detecting at very small distances. If it can detect a small coin or piece of jewellery at about two inches, that is all you need. And the GP Pointer does that effortlessly.
The GP Pointer is also incredibly easy to use. Just press the button to turn it on and that is all there is to it. No convoluted series of button presses to change modes and so on. It is as easy as it comes.
The small LED flashlight comes on when you press the power button. Unless you are detecting in the dark I think this is probably superfluous. Most people would be using a headtorch anyway. But most pinpointers come with one so I guess it has to be there.
As you get closer to a target the beeping will increase in speed and when you pull away it slows down.
In the box, you get a belt hosted and a 9v battery along with a lanyard and an instruction sheet.
For the price, you really can’t go wrong.
Came when it said it would. Not as sensitive as I thought it would be but good for the price.
Useful item for sifting through small quantities of soil (trowel full) once full size metal detector has discovered general location of item.
