My nephew enjoyed playing with this after I got it for him as a Christmas gift. Great that these are battery powered nowadays, too – np need to run a cable across the room for people to trip over.
Great for a kids first track set. Adjustable controller settings so you don’t end up retrieving cars every 10 seconds whilst the little ones get to grips with how it works.
This is the best scalextric I have ever played with.
Truly is epic. You can get it going some speed and it’s so satisfying to see go around the loops and corners without just constantly flying off.
It has four speed settings the first is probably too slow if you have set up the loops. Setting two and three you can just press and hold and will not come off the tracks. And the fourth is almost like a manual mode need to release it a bit on the corners.
Will definitely need assembly by an adult as the parts can be a bit fidgety to get in and you don’t want to bend any of the pieces.
My 8 year old nephew loved this for Christmas!
Some of the pieces were a little tricky to click together but once assembled it was hours of endless fun.
OK, so I’m reading a LOT of reviews where people are saying one track doesn’t work, one car doesn’t work, or breaks after only a few uses. This is easily fixed, and to be honest the instructions could be better at explaining this. To keep this set working, you are going to have to take your time in assembly, and do a little DIY.
So first lesson from this Christmas, don’t let the kids assemble this. My 7 year old could do it no problem, could figure out the layout, but encountered one BIG problem. Check the track before conne ting together, pinch the blades close together before inserting the track. Never force it!! If forced (as my 7 Yr old did) the metal splits and bulges. This causes problems when the cars are running, as these create sharp bits to pull away at the metallic ribbon powering the cars, basically wearing those bits out faster!
Which brings me to the second lesson, buy a LOT of spare blades. The metallic ribbons under the cars will wear, in the case of my badly assembled track quite quickly. Once these fray and come away, the car won’t work without a replacement. Luckily two spare blades are included in the kit, with only one screw required to change them.
Funnily enough the second spare in the kit was upside down, but this was simple to fix. Just peel back the metal retaining clips and flip it around.
Which brings me to a few additional lessons. You need to flump the metallic ribbons up a little bit, raise them so they’re not flat to the bottom of the car. These need to make a good connection with the metal track to power the car. One bad crash and these can be messed up requiring repositioning. Also going backwards is a big no no as this messes up the wires.
This kit does require a fair bit of care to put together, and Maintanence to keep the cars running right, but all in all its AWESOME. Kids have loved it, the hot present of Christmas day. Lil work from me and it’s all running beautifully. The cars are sturdy and after many crashes (including intentional ones where they put tiny figures on the track like an old western) are still looking near pristine. The batteries seem to have a good life, I’ve had about 4 hours use out of 6 bog standard AA batteries so far. The spare blades are pretty cheap, and easy enough to replace.
I would recommend this set, 100%, and with the warnings I’ve given you shouldn’t have any problems.
Quality item. Slightly bigger than i expected, but possible to alter size by using press stud fastening on both sides and/or by using elastic and toggles on waist.
Pockets of all sizes for all the usual EDC.
You will not regret purchasing this bodywarmer, and i will defnitely buy from this seller again.
Very quick delivery.
pockets a plenty, room to move for shooting, good warm gillet for those cold fields in hampshire north downs. Been admired by my good ol boys, excellent kit.
After trying to find a bodywarmer with many pockets, this bodywarmer ticked all the boxes. It is in very good condition.
AN EXCELLENT GOOD QUALITY JACKET AT A REASONABLE PRICE, AND UNLIKE SOME MORE EXPENSIVE ONES IT IS MACHINE WASHABLE. GOOD VALUE
Product is good value for money, it was the perfect fit, nice and warm and more pockets than you know what to do with. The Quality is adequate at this price bracket and the jacket looks quite good when its on.
Only reason it didn’t get a five was because one of my pockets had a hole in it that was big enough to lose things down.
I’ll sew it back up myself though too much hassle to send it back and get a replacement.
It’s too early to review its outdoor performance overtime, but at the price even if it only gives me a years use it was worth the cost.
This jacket is really good value for money, and is an excellent quality garment. I bought this for my husband in a medium size, and it is a generous length, a good fit, well-padded and apparently warm to wear for his gardening jobs.
Great Product. Great Price. Great Delivery. Would I buy from this Company again? Too true I would, and I will
