Mini Chainsaw Cordless, 6 and 4-inch 2-in-1 Brushless Motor

 

A well designed tool.. but without a built in oiling reservoir and this has to be done manually!.. which is cumbersome in practice. great support information provided by the Chinese manufacturer. The handbook needs to be improved by adding a contact email for technical support. My concern enquiry which I had do do via Amazon, was about the battery safety testing from fire risk/ explosion. The manufacturer responded promptly and sent comprehensive pdf files of their product test information. The jury is still out on this aspect!

 

This really is a small unit. I was quite surprised when I unpacked it and lifted it out of the box. I admit once I realised how small this is I was a bit nervous as to whether it would be able to do the job I bought it for. We have a wood burning stove and have a variety of logs and branches from my in-laws who have a couple acres of woodland. We get a few fallen branches and assorted pieces of wood through the year. I wanted a small chainsaw to trim and cut some of these.

I also did not expect the cordless battery to hold a charge for long, nor to be able to drive the motor sufficiently to chew through logs.

Well, my trepidation was completely unfounded. This unit works extremely well. For general light use – such as trimming branches and cutting small logs it is perfect. This is supplied with a second battery and between the two batteries I was able to get a day’s work out of this unit and managed to cut up most of the longs, branches and bits that we had laying in a pile out back. I had to charge both batteries by the end of the day which took a few hours each.

The unit is quite light, which may be a problem if you don’t have a good grip on it as it relies on the users strength and agility for control. I would highly recommend that any wood you cut that is not still attached to the tree is clamped in a work bench or similar before cutting. The trigger is solid and it takes a bit of pressure to engage it, so not much chance of accidentally firing this. T

he chain is sharp and efficient though it can snatch a little, so be aware and take the necessary precautions. Mistakes with a chainsaw can result in horrific injuries so care needs to be taken.

A pair of gloves are provided to improve grip and offer light protection to the hands. All tools and parts are included as well as a second even smaller chain and blade for small work. As with any power tool you need to be familiar with the unit and it’s use and exercise all logical precautions to prevent accidents.

With care this is an extremely effective and efficient tool. Much more so than I expected given it’s small size and that it is powered by batteries.

I am pleased and surprised by this purchase, for the work I managed to get done in a day that I was looking at taking four or five days doing made my life easier. No complaints here.

The chainsaw feels a little flimsy to start with as the plastic housing and handle are very light. However it doesn’t feel that way when it’s being used and it chews through wood most satisfactorily. This has saved me days of work and effort and turned a chore into a quick job. Money well spent, and I am looking forward to the same result at the end of next year when I cut the next supply of wood.

 

Comes in a good box with all the pieces listed and both batteries half charged. No oil tank so may overheat when used for long times. Haven’t used it much but it is light and easy to use right handed. Suggest that when using it you allow the weight of the machine to do the cutting and do not force it.

 

Arrived on time and in good condition. My only complaint is that there is no reservoir for oil.
