I have a 250 pound down coat to say I was nervous about waking this was an understatement so I was so happy that it came with instructions and worked really well my coat is clean and is water-resistant agai
We have a lot of expensive walking kit and always use nikwax to care for it. Really makes the product life and quality last longer. I’m sure other products like mountain warehouses own version are still good for the prices are almost identical and this is a brand you can really trust!
Works as advertised i think. The jackets came put of the laundry well. I just haven’t tried using them under the rain. I also hope thing i didnt like about this is the cap. It leaks a lot and it was delivered from a packaging that was soaked. What a waste for a little amount of product inside.
Have just used these for the first time and washed all my family’s down jackets. Another great Nikwax product. Can also recommend the footwear cleaners & waterproofer, and the techwash and re-proofer. Have also recently used the solarproof to clean and re-waterproof my son’s rucksack. My kids do DofE and I’m forever cleaning their stuff so Nikwax has been great over the years.
Had a recent issue with delivery recently and Nikwax customer service was brilliant.
As described.
If washing a sleeping bag you need minimum of 10kg machine and plenty of time, two washes one clean, one reproof, then about 3hrs in tumble dryer wish tennis balls, due keep stopping and shaking and unclumping the down during drying .
Works well if used correctly.. can leave white marks but they sponge off
Bought this combo pack to use on a second hand down jacket I’d picked up. The jacket was in good shape but I had no idea where it had been and any water immediately soaked in to the shell and down lining. So I put it through a down wash and then a down proof wash to clean it and give it some protection. The process is straightforward and easy to do but requires time and patience as you have to do multiple washes and then spend a long time drying a down jacket but the end result is worth it, the jacket looks good as new and performs better than new as it now has an amount of water repellency as splashes of water now bead up and roll of the shell.
