Arrived today and setup, the weight measurement seems very accurate initially had syncing issues but it was my fault for not reading the on screen instructions in the app. The scales look good and have a premium feel would definitely recommend

OMRON Viva gives the user a better focus on how to balance diet and weight control more effectively!

Golden Review Award: 5 From Our UsersThe Viva gives you a credible unflappable regular weight reading, unlike most cheap bathroom scales. The bluetooth sync with the app is extremely flaky. Some mornings it has taken a dozen attempts to work around the Err code. Whether the problem is in the app or the scales I don’t know, but for a “world leader” in clinical measurement, someone in Tokyo politely needs a boot up the derriere and be told to fix it. At this price, for a world leader, it’s not good enough.

These are expensive but very good so it depends what you are prepared to spend on weight / BMI /Fat etc levels are

Good quality product but app functionality is really poor comparing to other brands and it is a bit expensive as well

I love the OMRON range of products but can’t help feel that the app software lets it down! Very hit and miss if using multiple devices with the app! I have to say that it was the blue tooth capability that drew me to these to take the fuss out of manually recording readings. Now I’m frustrated! So the readings from the scales now seem to upload fine but my blood pressure device now decides it does not want to sync automatically. Maybe a future upgrade will help! Such a shame as the devices themselves are well built, give consistent results and seeing the brand being used in many clinical practices it appears to be a name the professionals trust!

It took me a bit before I was able to sync it with my phone/Samsung health, it let you install one app just to tell you there is a new one. But after that it’s quite simple to use. I won’t comment on the accuracy, as I didn’t compare it with anything, and the body composition cannot be really that accurate just because of the method it uses (as all the portable devices do). But I guess it gives you some approximation and baseline.

Absolutely love these scales! So handy to see what you need to improve upon – They have an updated app which works even better than the original – my elderly father also has one and it works seamlessly with his Omron blood pressure monitor, he’s also a retired consultant surgeon so his recommendation is based upon expert knowledge! 10/10

I’ve had my Viva for a few months now and am happy to recommend. Taking the set-up instructions step but by step is important but not too difficult. Very easy to use; step on, it beeps, step off. Open the app and it syncs ! With new updated Omron app I now have no connectivity issues with my Pixel 5.

The set up was easy and data transferred to the app first time. The readings seem accurate. Aside from weight I’m not sure how accurate all the other measurements are as they seem all over the place despite the fact that I’m losing weight gradually. That’s not a problem for me as I’m only bothered about the weight reading. All in all I’m pleased with them !!

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI searched reviews and decided to buy this scale. It is 3-4x the cost of the cheapest with similar features, but Omron is a trusted name in consumer and GP level medical products — we have had blood pressure meters from them for years. I like that the iPhone app keeps track of the figures from the scale, it works fine with two different people in the house.

At the time of this writing the iPhone app does NOT require an Omron account (to upload your data to them) so that’s good. Also currently the iPhone app updates itself outside the Apple App Store, which is a security concern and I’m surprised Apple allows it; l’ve never seen that before. New versions of the app should only download from the App store so Apple can vet the code (even if in a cursory fashion).

But overall I’ve very happy with the scale and the weight seems pretty accurate and consistent, hard to say if the other factors it claims to measure are accurate, but they do seem about right.

Golden Review Award: 12 From Our UsersI bought this scales as it was on offer but I was looking for one of these anyway having already gotten the Omron Evolv Blood Pressure monitor, then this is part of the same ecosystem.
OK, being a fatso, a word of warning, this scales only reads up to 150Kg which is 23 stones and 6 lb in old school English money, (it reads Stones and Kg) so if you are a little overweight and have a high BMI this will max out at that, that means like me you’ll need to lose a bit of weight for it to start to work, kind of ironic that it has an upper limit if you want to use it as weight tracking aid…
Onto its functions, it connects to the Omron app fine, I don’t think I am getting the smoothness that it should but it updates to the app fine. In my App ecosystem, I have Google Fit which will read the data from this device but not the Blood Pressure Monitor, (which is a separate device not included) apparently you need some sort of Google Approved key to write BP data to Google Fit and Omron, isn’t probably a big enough company to get such a key (!) rollseyes… the data then transfers through Google fit to Myfitnesspal as well which is really handy.
You must use it on a flat hard floor, if you have any of the weight sensors on each corner not fully on the floor then you will have a bad reading, I have a tiled floor, which has small ridges in it so I have to check they are all down correctly or it will read incorrect. Additionally, in the pictures it shows that the scales is stored on its side, this too is a no-no why it shows it I don’t know but it must be stored flat as it does little checks on its own now and again, and on its side it doesn’t like it.
If you have any implanted medical devices, and specifically a pacemaker this one is not for you, it analyses your body composition with a small electrical current, it probably tries to find your electrical resistance and that will disturb any implanted devices so its a no go for you. Fortunately I haven’t got any bionics so for me I am good to go.
Finally on its accuracy, then its good, I had a medical shortly after purchase and the data I got from this was almost identical to the readings at the medical centre so you can use it with confidence.

Not only weight, not only Bluetooth reporting to your Android application, which let you control progress of your body condition. It reports also, I hope accurately, composition of your body (percentage of fat, visceral fat, muscle, etc.). For me and my wife very motivating, as part of general heath condition to monitor.
As additional perk, it recognizes you. The only thing to do is to step on and after measurement accept that it is you (required to calculate body parameters, based on height, gender, age, etc.).

Having been diagnosed with secondary polycythaemia I needed to lose weight and the scales I had been using had proved to be much less than accurate. I purchased this body monitor. It is very easy to set up and use (the app for a smart phone makes it even easier still and has an easy to use export function).

More importantly I have checked it with the clinic, and it is very accurate.

So basically, everything you could want.

All the unpleasant facts are displayed in front of you on the app!! No escaping from the reality of being overweight. I started off with weight measurement in Kilos, but preferred to use lbs, and to change was very easy via the app. I am pleased to say I am losing weight; not fast enough but that is not the machine’s fault!

I am generally very happy with the scales, the transfer of data to my phone is not easy but it does work. helps to set the mind on the task! Weight loss!

If you are in the market for a smart scale that you can use to accurately weigh yourself and track relevant health metrics, this scale is perfect for you.

I bought this smart scale after having a nightmare of a time dealing with our Withings scale. It feels like it is impossible to find a smart scale that doesn’t have any issues. I decided on this one since I used OMRON in the past (analog days) and found them to be accurate.

I’ve used this scale for a month and a half now. This scale is accurate, quick, and works as you expect. The OMRON app works extremely well and syncs brilliantly with IOS and Apple Health. Since the connection is also bluetooth, you don’t have to fuss with WiFi connectivity to work. The scale is accurate and can detect very small changes in weight. Weighing is also consistent with the Withings scale. Cannot comment on accuracy of bodyfat % but it is well known to use trends vs hard and fast numbers with a bodyfat scale.

Overall, this is a great scale to get if you are looking for a smart scale

I spray my feet with a water mist spray bottle before I get on. In that way, i have never noticed inconsistent results. Results seem to be more accurate and reliable. Don’t know if this is good or bad. Don’t wet feet too much – you don’t want to slip. Just a fine layer to give a better connection. Would like to know what other people think about this – especially those with a science background who understand bio-electrical-impedance etc.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersBought this along with an Omron blood pressure monitor. Both work well Together through the Omron App. Can be used by multiple family members and great that the scale recognises the user when you step on. When it takes a reading it flashes between all reading types so if you just want weight it can be frustrating as it scrolls between each. Also the Bluetooth is trickier to transfer than the BP monitor since it’s on the floor. Overall very happy with it.

Golden Review Award: 18 From Our UsersFirst Body Composition Monitor and scale. As I was already using Going Fit set up was very easy and straight forward with all data immediately transferred and updated.
Manual set up was equally as straight forward for my partner who does not use Google fit or have a smart phone currently; any one in this position is best advised to check and right down your personal details for easy access when completing manual entry. Most important is the accuracy of information entered as all calculations will be based on this to produce accurate and meaningful results. DOB, Gender, Height (get these wrong for vanity or any other reason and results will be rubbish). All you need to do now is stand on your scale on a hard surface an not carpets or soft flooring and in a few seconds your weight will be displayed on the screen. Other information will also be displayed that can be written down if your not using the Bluetooth connection or transferred within seconds to your device if you do have one connected. Having read reviews before my purchase of the Omron Viva a number of reviewers were concerned about accuracy, this can easily be achieved by using the guest option entering dummy data as on this occasion you are only weighing to confirm accuracy for your own piece of mind, when asked to add weight (stand on the Scale) add any fairly heavy item of a known weight. I used a container filled with tins that I had previously calculated the weigh of and when lowered on the scale the weight displayed on the scale was identical to my calculated weight of tins and bottles. Very accurate. As advises I weigh my self at the same time every day for the best and most accurate results, it’s no good eating or drinking before you weigh and wonder why the results are not identical. There will of course be instances where the scale is not accurate such as when used by athletes, body builders who will require specialist equipment to achieve the results provided by the Omron Viva however for most people these scales and composition monitor will produce good accurate results when used in conjunction with the manufacturers instruction manual that is also clear and easy to read. In my opinion this is a very good and easy first body composition monitor to use and manufactured by a large company you can trust. P.s if using the connect app you can also use the app to easily combine results from other OMRON products enabling personal health details to be forwarded to your health professionals for detailed analysis on you self monitoring.
Really good piece of equipment when purchased at the right price as this does seem to vary considerably.

There’s no way to check the accuracy of these scales but that’s the same for all of these smart scales. The time taken for the results to appear on your app can be loooong, don’t know why. I suspect it because we have iphones. I rang customer support and they couldn’t find an answer, usually they do eventually appear on your phone. The customer support is awesome really helpful and knowledgeable. They even rang me to talk me through.

Golden Review Award: 10 From Our UsersNice sturdy scales that were relatively easy to set up.
Everyone in our household has their own account and after initial setup to confirm who was who all I do is step on and it immediate recognises me.
Information is almost immediately visible and downloads to phone within a couple of seconds.
Not sure about body fat etc accuracy as some reviews are a bit negative but seems ok to me. Says clinically proven on the box so probably is going to be the best you can get for the money. Weight is definitely accurate compared to other scales I have in the house.
No other colour options other than the Black were available.
Links in with my Apple app and others faultlessly.

I bought this at the same time as an Evolv BP monitor. I use both daily and they sync to my iPad.
No problems at all with either. It measures very quickly and easily.
Its a pity the app is just 1 user and has not guest user option. the Vivo supports 4 users and a guest and I think you can sync other people to other mobile devices but I’ve not got another device to test this with.
Maybe just a little too highly priced.

Overall very good, works well i question the accuracy of Body fat and muscle but its using Bio-electric Impedance Analysis so never going to be perfect. Gives you an idea of what to work on at least just make sure you keep conditions each measure as close as possible including hydration, temperature etc.

Although instructions were hard to follow the scale was simple to set up and to use. Mobile app will let only one profile to be recorded at once, which means each user will have to set its own profile on one’s phone or tablet to have full functionality of the scale’s data processing.

Golden Review Award: 52 From Our UsersThis scale is amazing, please ignore all the 1 star reviews! Clearly people don’t know how to use it. I bought it its confirmed I am using it and it’s accurate. I am big guy 130kg and I know my numbers well. App connection is very easy and it’s working with apple health. Fantasitc addon to my blood pressure monitor. Some saying that they cannot connect this scale with an app using Bluetooth, I have done it is seconds and it’s working every time I weight myself. It’s
Normal to that kind of devices to only send signal to you app via Bluetooth few min after use and you cannot communicate 2nd time until uoj switch it on or use it again.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic scale, highly recommended!!
