Packaging was very good, box was in good condition.
Tooth brush is really amazing, makes your teeth feel nice and clean. Battery last a good amount of time. I’m very happy with it 🙂
This has replaced a previous Sonicare brush that had a failed battery after 8 years. The iPhone app and adjustable intensities are good. Mine came with the charging glass (not shown in the picture) which I also like. An excellent product.
Use W2 heads on the white setting. I tried the latest O B toothbrush in January, it doesn’t even come close to this toothbrush.
The toothbrush has an excellent finish but the travel case has a flimsy plastic hinge that already is splitting after opening just twice
Have tried many different brands and always coming back to Philips toothbrush. The quality is much higher than other brands
Use this everyday & it does a great job. Has reduced the tartar build up I get & my teeth are definitely cleaner & whiter since using this.
This is the greatest toothbrush you can have. I used the oral B in the past and it didn’t felt good, I got a little bit of sensitivity when using the Oral B so never tried other toothbrush. A friend recommended me to try this one and I bough this pair. Just the best cleaning I ever experienced, fells like I’m leaving the dentist everyday.
Try yourself and I tell you, you’re gonna love it.
Battery last a week.
The only thing I believe its missing on this kit is the travel pouch that you can use to recharge the brush…
It looks very classy and the charging base also looks fantastic.
I’m using the DiamondClean for years now. However, although they are very expensive, they are not very durable. Yet, the cleaning result is fabulous – I just wish they would be cheaper and the Bluetooth stuff is just marking crap that will only drain the battery.
The app is just a useless gimmick. I actually got it to work, but now I’m not sure why I bothered.
Treat it as a fancy toothbrush and I’d argue (so would my dentist) it’s worth the high price.
An all-round great toothbrush. Purchased this as an upgrade to my years-old electric toothbrush and I’m very impressed with how well this one cleans your teeth. It comes with a very convenient travel case with a built-in charger and space for two heads – especially useful when travelling with a partner.
There are a lot of extra features – like a detailed dashboard on the app. It can even automatically order replacement heads once the current one nears the end of it’s life.
All-in-all a great product, no complaints so far.
Fortunately the warranty is 24 months … couldn’t ask for better service.
I have had to replace my last Philips Sonicare but it lasted my 5 years and has been on some extreme trips. The rugged recharging case was great and so it was a no brainer to update. The new case allows you to recharge using a discreet built in USB cable. The case is a little bigger but allows you to store two brush heads with the protective covers which is an improvement. The toothbrush itself is better as has separate power and programme selection button the previous model was a bit of a nightmare with one power/programme selection button. The app and brush analysis work well and it’s a pleasure to use this toothbrush.
This is the third Philips Sonicare product I have purchased, the product cleans to a very high standard and has plenty of features o offer an overall clean.
My only issue is that this product has broken already, this the same fault with my other two purchases, this must be a design fault, the stem which you attach the brush too comes loose or detached and then becomes unusable, I only purchased this on 29th November 2021, I need to find a way of obtaining a replacement or my money back.
I also purchased an additional Philips Sonicare Advanced Whitening Edition Rechargeable Toothbrush to take with us when we travel and just in case the other breaks we still have one to use, didn’t think it would break this quickly though.
I bought this as a replacement for my older 4 and a half year old Sonicare which was starting to sound a bit unhealthy.
On the whole this is a brilliant upgrade. The 4 cleaning modes all work well as expected although the standard clean mode takes a bit of getting used to. The clean mode on my old model was 4x 30 seconds while this new model is 6x 20 seconds. Small niggle but not sure why they changed it. I definitely preferred the 4x 30 seconds on my older brush.
Battery life is excellent as always with Philips products. I have had this toothbrush for 2 weeks, and apart from the initial 24 hour charge it hasn’t been back on the charger since. My older toothbrush used to last around a week before needing a charge.
The app, however is more or less pointless and unnecessary. I can’t really understand why a toothbrush needs to be connected to your phone, other than as another data gathering exercise, since most companies seem to want to know as much about you as possible.
Overall, an excellent toothbrush and a great upgrade over my older Sonicare. I just hope it lasts as long!
App is unnecessary
SEEMS CHARGE LASTS 3 WEEKS . THATS A ONCE ADAY BRUSH .
It certainly takes a little practise to perfect , but cleans my gums really nice ( just had a deep clean at the dentist so decided to get this brush for its actions ) . OK so it’s only been a week but I’m liking it so far , my teeth feel much better . One thing I did find , don’t close your mouth with this brush on highest intensity – made my whole mouth tickle, best method is to leave the mouth open . Then again it may be just me .
In all happy with it , has a large yellow sticker on brush packaging saying charge a full 24 hours . I would suggest you do this . Afterall who knows how many months , its been sitting in a warehouse ?
The new toothbrush has a feature that allows you to adjust the intensity, a feature I’m not sure I will ever use, but it’s an option that is there. It also has a much smaller charging stand. Personally I preferred the glass to this new perspex base, but unfortunately Philips have not made this toothbrush backward compatible with the old charger, which has a higher charging wattage.
As they have introduced bluetooth connectivity with an App, I thought I’d give that a go. I connected my new handle to the app and was immediately required to allow my hygiene data to be shared with Philips to be able to use this feature. As I wanted to see what it was all about, eventually, after multiple attempts to continue without ticking the box and being sent back to the start screen of the App, I complied and checked the box that I did not agree with. I strongly feel that this is wrong.
After giving up my privacy to use all of the features of the toothbrush, I was informed there was a firmware update available. This is where things went downhill fast. The update bricked the toothbrush that entered a cycle of flashing lights. After talking with Philips support, I was advised to get Amazon to replace it, which they did, next day. Amazon, your customer service was amazing here, well done!
When the new brush arrived, I ensured I did the firmware update first, to make sure that if it happened again, I could just reject it immediately. Fortunately with this new handle things went smoothly and it updated and is still working.
Having spent a few weeks now with the toothbrush and the app I can say that the App is a gimmick. Even worse, there is no need to require sharing my hygiene data with Philips for its features to work as the “suggestions to improve your brushing” are limited to saying if your average brushing session is too short or using too much pressure. All of this is averages that can be calculated on device!
If you forget to launch the app before you start brushing, you get no data from that session. If you switch app whilst brushing, it records the brushing time as how ever long you’d been brushing for when you switched the app. Personally I think it would be better not to record this at all, as it’s just adding inaccurate data into the log.
So my advice: If you buy this toothbrush, don’t bother with the app, just use it on its own. It still has a built in timer that tells you when to move onto the next session. It still has pressure alerts from the handle. There is a light for when the toothbrush head needs replacing. There is simply no benefit to the app for someone who brushes their teeth twice a day for the length of time the timer in the handle runs.
Forget the app, enjoy a good toothbrush. Hopefully it will last as well as the one before!
I had the previous DiamondClean brush, have always liked it, but was time for a new one. I fell of my chair when I saw the price of the new model, but fortunately there was a deal on at Amazon, so I took the plunge.
Seems to be even better than the older unit, and in general the brush feels like it gives an even better clean than the old one. I like the two buttons instead of one, makes it easier to adjust, but I keep pressing the power button when using it and changing the speed. I won’t mark it down for that, I guess I will get used to holding it so that does not happen.
I haven’t bothered installing the app. As far as I can see it’s just a gimmick. I don’t need an app to tell me whether I am brushing my teeth for long enough and it looks like the toothbrush will flip a light on when it’s time to change the head.
In summary great toothbrush, and with quality comes (a lot of) cost!
Battery Life – Never had it run out on me even after not charging for a couple days
Travel Ability – The rechargeable case makes it super easy to take with you anywhere and is super easy to use, allowing you to take spare heads as well
Cleaning Ability – noticed a massive difference with this toothbrush compared to normal, was sceptical over the price but it has proven me wrong and has been well worth it.
Replacement – Heads are quite expensive but you can set up automatic refills that come to your door when you need a new brush head, the app also allows you to see how many brushes you have left with the head
App – although the app only tracks a week, it has been really good in telling you how much you brush and how long for along with the pressure you use. The timer is also helpful as it tells you what side you are brushing and every 10 seconds to move from that sides front to back
Title says it all, this is the best electric I’ve tried, I’ve tried Oral-B a few times but never got into it and preferred a manual toothbrush. Due to the lack of good dental hygiene my teeth became dark black and between my front two upper teeth there were black residues from coffee and not being able to clean it properly, I tried flossing which didn’t change anything, I even bought a pick to try remove the black marks, nothing helped. Then I bought this toothbrush after reading reviews and because it has a sonic mechanism rather than oscilation.
The black between my teeth were removed day one using the white mode, but I much prefer the deep clean mode, both clean great but my teeth feel cleaner much more with the deep clean since it lasts for 3 minutes in total. The brush vibrates whenever you need to move which quadrant to brush your teeth. Some people have said they needed to get used to it, but personally after most of my life using a manual toothbrush and an electric toothbrush a handful of times I never had a problem with the highest intensity from the start.
There was a plauqe build up on the back of my lower teeth, with floss it felt like a bump and my tongue could feel it, with one use of this toothbrush that build up is gone, truly remarkable.
The USB charging case is great and I prefer it over a 2 pin charger. The cup with a charger looks elegant but I never used it, and probably won’t.
Following the advice of Relatives to try them again and after a great deal of research, I decided on this Diamond Clean 9000, which was fortunately on Special Offer.
I must confess that when I first started using it, I thought my teeth were going to vibrate out, until I realised that I’d got it on the Highest Intensity Setting.
My next concern was that it seemed to leave some of my teeth feeling a little rough to the tongue but after further research, I gather this is because, unlike my manual toothbrush, it is successfully removing the plaque.
I have had it for two months now and apart from the initial charge, I’ve only had to charge it twice whilst using it twice daily.
To be fair and honest, it took me about a month to really get used to it and get the best out of it but now I can confidently say that I love it and would not consider going back to a manual toothbrush.
I have yet to use the Travel Case (Covid Lockdowns and all that) but I can see that it will be very handy for both transporting and charging the toothbrush whilst away from home.
I have used the app which inspires confidence in informing you that you are brushing regularly and correctly (or not).
The little stand is handy for daily storage and charging the toothbrush is simple enough.
I haven’t been to the Dentist since using it but I’m hoping she’ll approve of my new brushing regime.
No issues to date but I will edit my review accordingly.
All in all, Highly Recommended, especially if you can catch it when it’s on Special, Special Offer!
I had an older model of this toothbrush, when it stopped working after several years service I looked at my options. I did consider the price of brush & replacement heads, compared consumer research & friends recommendations and decided to give this a try. Despite it’s high price it has not disappointed! It is light & easy to grip, with simple button operation. I loved my old brush & thought it could not be beaten – I have been proved wrong! My teeth & gums feel great – sweaky clean, it stays charged for longer and is fully charged in a shorter charging time. My gums feel refreshed, without me pressing too hard – pressure sensor – & causing soreness. I am still trying to get fully to grips with the App & all the data it provides to improve my oral health further – I think that’s just due to my lack of time. Might be helpful if an interpretation of your monthly/ quarterly performance could be emailed to you with top tips for improvements.
Can confirm the toothbrushes are exactly the same size as previous models.
The instructions say to leave on charge before first use, I assume to condition the battery.
When I used in the morning for the first time, I could tell the difference straight away, much more ‘vibrations’ or ‘head movements’ what ever you would like to call it. With the added benefit of being able to see what’s going on when brushing my teeth on the Philips Sonicare App for iOS.
Much quieter and now doesn’t wake my partner when brushing.
Seems these toothbrushes have improved a great deal from 5 or so years ago from when I purchased my original one.
Well recommended, even though it seems extortionate for a toothbrush!
BTW, the app is free to download from the App Store
EDIT: Months down the line, battery last about 4 weeks in between charging. Never experienced any battery loss or errors
