I have given this four stars , as it is badly let down by the audio, its very tinny and basic, luckily i had a small sound bar, which once attached has done the trick.
The first one that I ordered was faulty but easily returned, refunded and then reordered. I now have one that works. Best if used with an external speaker (connected with a headphone wire to avoid lag) but fine on its own if you’re not after much bass.
This was a good price and ideal for our caravan. Be aware that the sound quality is truly awful but can
be sorted by connecting to external speakers.Problem sorted.
Nice 32″ TV. All the apps you could ever need including NowTV. Easy to set up. Looks good in the Bedroom.
As with all TVs these days sound is very average but nothing a good cheap sound bar won’t fix.
Everything works great. Easy set up. Was fine the first day. Second day, there was a ant crawling around in the actual screen. Don’t know how as its in the bedroom and I don’t have a ant problem. So yeah. Great but..
Absolutely brilliant tv for the price, really good value. Great picture , nice sound and easy to set up. Nothing bad to say.
I loved the tv. The sound is clear and the picture is clear. Great for the price.
Wasn’t really expecting much for the price but it’s brilliant!! Fitted in my lorry and works perfec
TV is perfect for our Motorhome. Fits perfectly on our wall bracket and picture quality is amazing.
Got this TV as it fits in a TV bed perfectly, simple to set up and picture and sound quality is good for a TV at this price, only fault I have so far is BBC iPlayer is not currently available, hopefully it will be sorted, I’ve mainly bought it for Prime and Netflix but anyone that is buying this specifically for BBC iPlayer then I would avoid, More 4, My 5 etc all work fine
The set is good value for money.Delivery was prompt. We use it in the dining room to replace the old broken TV.Picture quality is good and the controls easy to use.
You need a separate set of speakers for more bass as it’s very tinny
bought this tv to replace a plasma tv which was really heavy on the electricity bill, the size of the tv is great, the picture quality is great and the rook feature is fantastic, now for the not so good the sound quality is really poor it is very tinny and not the best in fact it is that tinny I use my sound bar with it, I was very disappointed with the sound quality coming from a company who has been in the audio business for over 100 years I expected better especially with the tv having dolby and its sound, come on rca you could have done a lot better with the sound.but overall for the price of the tv you can’t go wrong
Very solid smart TV for the price, only docked a star because the remote doesn’t connect to the tv sometimes, taking the batteries out an putting them back in usually fixes i
This item arrived next day . Extremely light weight ideal for caravan. Picture sound excellent. Down side we haven’t got cigarette lighter connecter in our van.. luckily our friendly dealer helped us out. And made us one up. We tried everywhere for a two pin adapter to work 12 volt with no success…. perhaps worth thinking about before you purchase.
I JUST WANTED A TV THAT I COULD PLUG IN SWITCH ON AND GET BASIC TV AND RADIO MAYBE A LITTLE TUNING I DID NOT WANT ACCOUNTS AND PASSWORDS I HAD TO GET A YOUNGER NEIGHBOR TO SORT IT FOR ME SORRY I AM NOT SMART ENOUGH FOR THIS TV
WORKING NOW WITH THE BASIC PROGRAMMES I WANTED
REMOTE CONTROL IS THE BEST I HAVE EVER USED
Great TV, cheap and lightweight, purchased for my campervan. Lots of features not a smart tv but can easily attach a fire stick, good picture quality, sound a little tinny but doesn’t really make a great difference in my van as the volume is never high, could attach a soundbar or speaker if desired, remote a little plastic feeling but works ok. Picked up lots of channels on the first scan but that was in the city with good reception. Very pleased so far.
Love the tv, light & easy to work with. Good, clear picture. I’ve had a Roku stick for several years & like the options , happy to have it integrated in the tv. Good size remote control, buttons well spaced. Had to make 4 star rather than 5. My requirement was for Bluetooth on tv, which it has, but after many attempts to link headphones discovered headphones not supported after searching online for solution. Only way is to watch tv via app on phone, which is not practical in my case. Otherwise great tv.
Really good tv, does the job, sometimes struggles to get on the internet but otherwise no complaints for the price
Its a nice TV only 4 stars because it is let down by sound quality (could be a lot better)
This is a decent little TV for the money, the picture is pretty good and it looks the part. Set up was simple straight out the box and, unlike some TV’s today, you’re straight into the Play store so there’s no limitation on the apps you can download. Processing speeds do seem to be a little slow and the only other problem I have is the remote, which despite being very intuitive, has had to be reset three times. It’s easy to do, remove the batteries, hold down the #1 button, batteries back in, but annoying.
So in short, it’s not perfect but at 150 it’s difficult to complain.
Really light in weight, only just received this so can’t really add much more but for the money seems decent.
Poor instructions, but fairly intuitive on screen set-up. You need your passwords for Wi-Fi, Netflix etc, The channel set up in Freeview is confusingly different, but works quite well once you have made a note of the new numbers. Netflix and Prime are fine. I have yet to link to Bluetooth or chrome cast, but will keep trying. Good sharp picture, but the sound is not up to much, but just about acceptable. You have to unplug at the wall to turn off the set, otherwise a bright red light is on all the time. Nearly sent it all back, but I will persevere as the set is light, looks fine, and the picture is good.
Perfect size for our kitchen/diner & very easy to set as ours is connected to a mini Sky Q box. Only negative is the sound is quite tinny.
Bought this to replace a 55″ Sharp TV which suffered a stress fracture to the screen (accident).
Had the ROKU TV two weeks now and very pleased. In comparison to the Sharp TV this is on anther planet.
The picture quality is excellent and the sound (which was terrible on the Sharp) is fantastic.
The remote control is a joy to use with plenty of dedicated buttons for Netflix, Apple TV etc.
Its only early days but its been good so far.
Amazon delivery very good and we kept updated with the delivery slot.
Very pleased with this standard tv bought as a replacement for a much more expensive 40 inch HD model that packed up on me. Everything about it is just right, in fact I think the HD pictre quality’s better than my old tv. It’s really light in weight, does everything it’s supposed to. No smart apps…I didn’t use them anyway so it wasn’t a problem. Totally reccomended.
Picture is solid, but definitely needs help with sound quality.
Was looking for a little tv for my granddaughters bedroom for when she comes and stays. I didn’t want to spend a fortune but I wanted quality as well so I went with this one. Only downside is it’s very lightweight. Picture quality is OK good enough for a 6 year old nice little tv big chunky remote at least it won’t get lost for the price I am happy with purchase so fa
Setup could be easier, Because I am in Guernsey, I could not choose that option as it’s not there.
It has a Good Picture, Sound is OK, Delivered on time, Reasonable price for a 55in TV, was actually only about 15 more than my first TV 22in in 1977 😉
Purchased 40 inch for an elderly neighbour who doesn’t have an internet connection. Surprising how light it is which is good news for wall mounters. Auto install takes care of set up but there are a few options in the menus that might need to be tweaked but they aren’t buried or cloaked in jargon so should be easy to find. Only criticism is the layout of the EPG, you cannot at a glance see what is on now/next. Neighbour has no complaints about picture quality.
Overall fantastic value for money.
Not a smart TV
I bought it for spare bedroom. Its easy to set up and works grea
The TV is good value for money however the screen becomes a bit less sharp when moving to the side
Ordered to upgrade my dad’s old 32″ Sony. At the price point it was worth a try, even though some reviews were negative.
I was suitably impressed with this TV enough for me to order one to replace the one I have, as this comes with a DVB T2 tuner (mine is a DVB T) which means that it has Freeview HD channels.
Fingers crossed mine will be just as good.
Update: mine was delivered super fast and even on Bank Holiday Monday.
I have managed to watch some football on the HD ITV channel, and the 60hz kept up with it well. Great HD picture and sound is decent.
I have also connected an old Wii using the provided cables in the box. It works.
There is a scart connect, which I have attached my old VCR to. It works.
I have used the usb to power my Now TV stick. It works.
I have used a USB stick to record live TV. It works. However, there are absolutely zero instructions for using this function so it is very much up to the user to work out. The usual recording via EPG is there, which means that on a TV / Freeview box with a single DVB tuner, if you are watching something at the time it will switch to the programme you have set to record when the time comes.
I have zero idea how to delete anything from the usb using the TV either: probably have to take it out and connect it to a computer and do it that way…
As with the first TV, when the box came it was so light I wondered if there was even a TV inside. The TV is so lightweight that I would have 100% confidence putting on a bracket on any of the walls in my house. Even a plaster board partition.
At this price point I am very happy with the TV. Time will tell of long lasting quality.
(Btw, I haven’t tried the 3.5mm out yet, nor the optical out. Nor do I have ‘cable TV’ or a satellite dish, which this also has connections for…)
In case anyone is wondering after all of the above, I have docked a star for a few reasons:
1, is that it ‘only’ has 2 X HDMI when my preference would be for 3.
2, there is only 1 USB socket, so there has to be a choice between making it a smart TV with Now/Firestick/Roku etc (for USB to power) or as a stick Freeview recorder.
3, the remote has to be pointed almost exactly in a straight line to the sensor on the TV for it to register. It is supper fast when it does, and is something that I will get used to, but it is still worth mentioning.
The last time I bought a TV was 10 years ago so I am comparing it with a something that is over 10 years old. My old TV only came with the BBC iPlayer and a couple of others that required subscription whereas the RCA is fully up to date with all the catchup apps. The tuner also turns out to be quite sensitive – I live 37km from the transmitter that is also behind several walls (I live in a mid terrace) and yet it is able to pick up all the channels with an indoor aerial. However,
1) there doesn’t appear to be a way to search the EPG. On my old TV, I could search by name or category (e.g. Star Trek or film) and see what (live) programmes are coming up. The only search that appears to be available is for on-demand content;
2) the IPTV “data” channels such as Vision TV don’t work. Considering that they work flawlessly on my 10-year old TV this is rather disappointing. Hopefully it will be addressed in a future software update;
3) there is an option to add “wireless audio devices” to the TV, devices such as speakers and soundbar with the graphic also showing headphones. I have not been able to get it to detect my bluetooth headphones;
4) the remote is essential the same remote used in a Roku streamer slightly modified for a TV. As such it is missing some common buttons like one to turn subtitles on and off with a single touch.
For the price this is not a bad TV although it can be a lot better.
Update:
I have now had the TV for nearly 2 weeks. The Roku App turns out to be quite useful and mitigates some of the shortcomings of the remote control. Using the app’s voice input, the many clicks that were previously needed to turn on subtitles can now be achieved by simply saying “turn on subtitles”. To open a “channel” (an app in Roku speak), you can say something like “launch ITVX” to launch the new ITV app.
Live TV may be paused if you connect a flash drive to one of the USB ports. However, beware that a current bug causes the pause buffer to be wiped if you turn off the display, so if you get a phone call in the middle of a programme, you can pause for up to 90 minutes but do not be tempted to turn off the TV screen to save electricity.
I tried to ask the seller about the failure to play the Freeview data channels through the Amazon website but did not get any response. There is no information in the supplied manual on where you can get technical support. Neither the Roku nor the RCA website list this model. I fear that once the Amazon return window passes, getting support may be tricky.
Update 2: April 2023
A couple of days ago the TV updated to Roku OS 12.0.0, build 4171. The update broke all of the Freeview catch up apps. Any attempt to launch any one of the Freeview apps from the home screen results in an error message saying “Channel Unavailable”. The only way these apps can be accessed now is via the EPG. With the EPG up, press “*” and select an app to start from there. The update is also causing the “private listening” audio to break up. Usually this can be fixed by toggling the headphones on/off button on the Roku mobile app. All in all, this is a poor update and it is not recommended.
Update 3: April 2023
The problem with the Freeview catch up apps has been fixed. Unfortunately, most of the Freeview data channels still do not work (see attached photo) despite the OS update.
The Television is everything I expected except I do not do gaming
Didn’t read the description properly and didn’t realise that it was not a smart TV but that is my fault not the sellers, other than that very happy with it for the price
Amazing value for such a feature rich TV. We only bought a 24″ version which is great in our bedroom. The apps are perfect and as we have Netflix, Prime, Apple etc it makes me wonder why we bother with Sky. Plug it in, connect to the WiFi, login to your streaming services and away you go.
Great smart TV for my little girls bed room she loves it. The sound quality is fab I know this as every thing is on loud. The picture is brilliant and a perfect for her room. Great purchase great price worth the investme
I liked the tv – picture and sound quality excellent. But I lost the remote. Purchased a so-called “universal” remote from Amazon. It will not connect to the tv. Please help
Easy to set up. Clear picture and good sound. Perfect for bedroom. Would recommend.
Can’t comment about gaming uses as its not something we need.
You need to spend a lot of time moving the channels into a recognised Freeview order needing lots of patience, then if you reset the TV you have to do it again. Trying to get customer support is impossible seeings that RCA do not even recognise the model number, I gave up after several hours trying.
The TV is full of great features and the picture and sound quality are good, I have not figured out Chromecast yet, but HDMI hard wire is my solution to that. For the price, this TV is good value for money.
I have had to reset the TV three times to get Google assistant to work.
Easy to set up apart from having to enter your email for a lot of the APPS. Sadly it is an android (GOOGLE) TV and isnt happy running on an iPhone or Alexa – that said the picture quality and sound are first class and was so easy to set up. Well please with it especially for the price and prompt delivery.
First of all I’d like to thank the seller of this TV HKC Digital for their brilliant response to my query. The TV is very good indeed there wasn’t a warranty card in the box when it arrived. Amazon suggested I return the TV & re-order but having got it all set up & working just fine I wasn’t willing to do that. Messaged the seller & got a prompt & very courteous acknowledgment of my purchase & confirmation of warranty from them in Holland.
The TV itself is spot on. Easy to set up & has all the apps you could want. My first Android TV – think it’s rather superior to platforms offered on others. Picture great, sound perfectly acceptable, remote seems fine. Bought for our attic bedroom as tired of lugging a TV up there whenever the grandkids come to stay! Have only used the smart mode as in it’s not connected to an antenna – but isn’t that the future anyway?
One observation. When you fit the feet. Use a good screw driver, one with a substantial handle that gives you plenty of purchase. The screws on mine were very hard to get in. Absolutely no problem – they do go in but you need to have the TV firmly held between your knees & give it plenty of torque. And no swearing!
Bought as a gift, was well received, easy to set up, perfect size for a bedroom, very competitive price, fast delivery
Great value, cheap 32″ TV, just over 100. Not SMART but connect to your Chrome Cast or other device for online steaming.
Cheaper than 24″ monitors which have no sound built in, so can’t fault the value for money.
Everything was as expected from the Description. Some of the earlier reviews gave me the impression YouTube might not work; but YouTube and the other key apps were all there. The TV is a normal TV with a built-in Roku for streaming. The setup is very easy and quick. There is no dedicated YouTube button, but it is just as easy to use the on screen menu. It’s very light and easy to move. Sound is very clear. Unless I am missing something this is a very good product, ideal for a smaller room. Although when I was young, a 21″ set was thought to be too big!
The message to me said: The item has to be signed for. However, the courier left it outside in the open, and didn’t ring for a signature!!!
Does what I wanted, easy to connect to Netflix ect. Has Bluetooth and built in Chromecast. Display is really nice and has lots of different ports. Overall very happy. Will say feet were not the easiest had a problem because the screws were slightly too big so I had to swap them for smaller ones. Took longer to sort the feet out then to set the tv up. Also the Chromecast is really poor, honestly better just getting a HDMI cable for whichever device you plan to connect to. And lastly you need to play with the sound settings a little bit but once I switched the settings to surround sound it was all good. Hope this is helpful to anyone looking to buy 🙂
In the advert it said it had Freesat and Freeview, it doesn’t have Freesat (one of the main reasons for my purchase). That being said everything else about the tv is excellent and given the low price I’m quite pleased.
Very good picture quality, sound seems a little bit “underwater” at the beginning, but it is easily fixable through the sound settings. I use it with google assistant on my phone, giving it vocal commands. It answers quickly. The only thing I noticed that is a bit annoying is the connection with bluetooth speakers/headphones: it lags a bit, as the connection was not continuos or clean. Other than that, I’m very satisfied with the purchase.
I had a list of requirements while looking for an additional TV for my home office, a ‘Smart’ TV, full HD (1080) not HD Ready (720), 3 HDMI inputs, a headphone socket for my speaker system and Bluetooth to be able to use a keyboard and headphones.
I’d found a Phillips for 170 that fitted the bill and then, on Amazon Early Prime Day, I found this RCA with the same list of features for 130. There were a few negatives in the user comments about this RCA TV so I added 3 years full insurance to the basket for 20 and I still saved 20 over the price of the Phillips TV.
I was surprised how lightweight this TV is, my concern was it would be easy to knock it over but, once the feet were fitted, it seemed quite stable.
Setting up was easy, I’m a retired cameraman and video editor so I think I know what a good picture should look like, I was impressed with the overall quality and colour of the picture, for me a few minor colour ‘tweaks’ were needed once I’d sussed out the menu system! The audio does benefit from adding additional speakers though.
In Smart TV mode this has all the ‘normal’ features you’d expect, HD channels, FreeView Play, radio channels and internet channels along with Google and it’s associated features like Chromecast, you can spend hours seeing what’s available and finding stuff to watch!
This is an Android (Google) device, for the security conscious, you can opt out of all the login and permission requests and still have a working TV, however some options won’t be available to you.
I use this TV with a Sky Q box and I have the BBC News on all day, the HD quality is excellent but, at 32 inches this TV does not show old archive footage, some American footage or poor quality footage very well compared to my old 24′ TV.
One minor problem I encountered was finding the remote code for the Sky Q remote to control some functions, after searching and trying all the known codes, I found a site suggesting some different codes for an RCA TV and 4246 worked for me. Overall, I’m well pleased with this TV.
This is a very cheap TV for its size.
The upsides are obviously the price firstly.
It’s remote is pretty good
The menu is well laid out
It has plenty of device connectivity.
Good but not amazing!
Picture quality is pretty good though it looks over bright or washed out in some situations.
The built in usb reader is OK but playback looks a little fuzzy in places. Video playback is definitely a little better through games console.
With some careful set up on personal the picture is very acceptable for the price. This TV is purely for use with a console and its actually not too bad.
Sound, the sound is shocking! It vibrates with any kind of bass or volume applied. You definitely need to attach this thing to some other sound source!
This may be due to poor construction or extremely poor speakers. If you are using this as a stand alone tv, don’t bother buy a better brand with half decent speakers.
As the console sends sound to the headphones this isn’t an issue, if you are using headphones again it’s probably OK.
Connected to some sound bar or amp and speakers it should be fine.
On this occasion what youvget is what you paid for but that’s not to say a more expensive budget brand item would be much better.
Is it value for money? That is subjective but overall I’d say yes in this instance.
