This is such a great laptop for the price! Couldn’t ask for better. I’m so pleased with the purchase and I would happily recommend this laptop.
Perfect for students, teachers, writers and more.
Brilliant price. Very easy to set up. Keyboard comes with silicone covers which all slightly vary. Took a few minutes to figure out which one actually applied to the way my keyboard was set up. Screen size is great and quality is perfect. Can’t believe how good it is especially at the price!
A really slim compacted laptop, perfect for home students or work, I was very pleased with the quality and speed of this laptop, lots of USB ports and different ports for connecting to other devices, good streaming to wide screen tv’s etc, but unfortunately for me with my disability lifting my arms the touchpad is very big and as I have to rest my arms on the laptop when typing it was not suitable for me as I kept moving the cursor by accident, for someone without my problem this laptop would be perfect, and at this price it can not be beaten.
Very quick delivery, easy to setup, light weight value for money
Still feeling my way around it and downloading necessary software. So far so good.
This laptop is extraordinary for its price range. The quality of the screen as well as the speed of the laptop’s CPU is highly impressive. I would definitely recommend this laptop to a friend or family member.
I was in dire need for a Laptop after my old HP laptop of 5 years just stopped working. I decided to Window shop on amazon and was amazed when I saw this. At first I was skeptical as its not a brand I know, but I must commend that buying this Laptop was a good decision. Its quite fast too when browsing the web. I’m so happy with my laptop
This is a great laptop that performs very well. I am not a gamer, so I have to accept those reviews which state is is not for gaming. But it runs all the software I use – including HD Video editing. The screen is awesome, everything is responsive and I am very pleased overall. The only weaknesses I would note are 1) it seems to be relatively slow to boot up (slower than my other ssd based laptop with Linux Mint). 2) the sound is OK but not the best. For the price this is a good buy.
The product proved to be good value for money and was exactly what I wanted. The only problem was this laptop doesn’t have a dvd drive and this isn’t stated on the Amazon advertisement before purchasing. It doesn’t matter I got exactly what I wanted.
Thus is the 2nd one I’ve bought in a month. The 1st one developed a fault with the screen.
I needed a simple laptop to deal with basic household works – a bit of letter writing, emails, the odd spreadsheet etc. I’m not a gamer so I wasn’t looking for a high-end machine, but I wanted a bit more storage than the base model so in the end, I purchased the SGIN 15.6 Inch Laptop Windows 11 12GB DDR4 512GB SSD.
I find it it a good machine for all of the above tasks, certainly they are well within the machine’s capabilities. The build quality reflects the price, don’t expect soft feels, but there is general strength there that gives confidence that it isn’t going to fall apart at the first drop of the machine. The screen resolution is more than adequate for the use that I use it for, but I wouldn’t recommend this machine for gaming – in fairness, it’s not built for that. This laptop is silent in use and the battery life is again reflective of the price. I get over 4 hours on a charge – this is ok for me.
In summary, a good basic laptop that enables you to do all the stuff that you need to run a home or a small business at an affordable price.
I like the laptop qualities.
The laptop arrive at my adress on the time.I like his qualities.
Windows 11/12GB RAM/512GB SSD/Intel Celeron/1920×1080
My SGIN laptop was almost an impulse purchase!
At work during a weekend, my previous laptop ready to ‘give up the ghost’ I decided to browse Amazon for an affordable ‘everyday use’ machine, more to ‘window shop’ than to purchase.
I [was] unfamiliar with SGIN, although I’m not not generally frightened of brand names that I do not know. I was not looking for a laptop for a specific use or specification and so when Amazon ‘pushed’ the SGIN X15 at me I showed an interest. Specifications seemed very good for the price, almost too good! Reading other reviews, I opted for the higher screen resolution [1920×1080] which seemed worth the extra cost.
Time for the impulse purchase!
A 15.6 laptop with Windows 11/12GB RAM/512GB SSD/INtel Celeron/1920×1080] for 299 seemed a risk worth taking. Certainly when the X15 was viewed against some of the comparable laptops Amazon offers from the more widely known brand names.
SGIN package their products in plain, unassuming boxes. A simple but functional white box, sufficiently padded and secure with ‘Laptop’ on the lid.
Having been used to solid/chunky laptops, the X15 felt very light, almost flimsy, I delicately lifted the lid from the corner [no centre catch/have worked it out now] and considered my impulse purchase. If you are used to solid/chunky laptops, it may feel odd to start with, but not for long. Care is needed opening the lid because the X15 is very light and rather delicate. The build quality however, is very good; there is nothing ‘cheap’ or ‘plastic’ about the X15! It also has a more attractive appearance and finish than some other [more expensive] names.
I now own a SGIN X15 and I LOVE IT!!
It worked perfectly from the box. Windows 11 preinstalled [new to me as a Windows 7 user]. It quickly latched on to my home internet and then loaded my internet security and other programs I use without any fuss. Having said it works straight from the box, a few extras will certainly enhance the X15 and what I have added are certainly not indications of any limitations of the device.
Like any new family member, I wanted only the best for my X15 so back to Amazon for some software and periferals.
Office 365 was installed, I fancied Office 2021 instead, easily swapped.
A carry bag for the laptop and accessories together with a padded sleeve for everday use/storage.
The laptop keyboard is perfectly good, certainly when sitting close to the machine. If wanting to sit back from the laptop, then a small separate keyboard should fit nicely over the lower frontal area of the machine, mine does. I have also turned the tracking pad off [easily done] and replaced with a mouse.
The X15 comes with 2 USB [3.0] sockets which is only a limitation, if [like me] you want to use extra keyboards, hard drives etc, so I got a USB hub which connects to the USB C socket.
The X15 handles all these periferals and open programs well, even when on the battery [decent run time]. It works well with internet browsing running alongside my open digital music library, downloads in progress and perhaps some study/research software also open. I have also added to it’s workload with a memory card inserted to view dash cam MP4 videos or youtube. I have ‘tinkered about’ with it a little [what opens on Startup etc] and it runs very well, although will probably benefit from regular ‘maintenance’ [clearing unwanted etc] rather than being ignored [just like any laptop]
I’ve not seen any drop in performance or impact on graphics from my above use. I don’t game or stream, although I imagine that light/moderate use would not ‘stress’ an X15 [and if you want high performance gaming/streaming you would look for a dedicated machine/specifications]
I like the fact that my laptop has a name, rather than having to describe it by it’s specifications. Not a silly name like cars often have, but a technical/functional name, like a camera, or an aircraft!
This laptop was only intended as a ‘hack’ machine to keep in the workbag or for odd use at home etc. I have noticed that it has started to take me away from the desk PC/big monitor.
I might get myself a secondary/backup machine now that I am using a laptop more. It may well not be exactly the same but it will very likely be another SGIN!
I am used to purchasing brand name laptops but decided to take the risk in purchasing this new laptop for specific needs. It has been an excellent experience using this laptop over the past several weeks.
It is every much as good as the other brands that I am used to. I got more ram for a cheaper overall price. This product doesn’t have the gpu for gaming but I will give it a shot. So far i am impressed with its performance.
For the price paid, this is one of the fastest and quiet processors i have come across. The battery has also been good so far. The only issue i had was where i could not extend the display across with a normal HDMI (as you need the smaller one which i probably missed in the description while making the purchase) and the US keyboard layout style.
Otherwise im really happy and impressed with the purchase and i hope it continues to exceed my expectations.
I bought this when it was on offer and it has performed excellently so far. I have no complaints.
Only seems to charge the battery if you are using it.
Plus I don`t know how to get the camara to take a photo front facing photos?
I switched the laptop on and immediately booted it from an external DVD drive, so I could install Slackware on it. As expected, it works just fine. Quick too. Included in the box, were silicon keyboard overlays for many different layouts, eh French, German, English UK, etc – the keyboard is English US and these overlays make it easy to use your preferred layout. I wasn’t expecting these to be included. I wich somebody would make a laptop with an offset trackpad. The keeps on moving around the screen as you type, at it is very difficult to use the keyboard, without touching the trackpad. Ideally, offset the trackpad or eliminate it completely and install a button mouse between G,H and B such as on old Toshiba laptops.
Very very pleased with the laptop.
Bought for my son and his school work and some low level gaming.
It does everything he needs. A robust unit, and very easy to set up.
Exactly what we needed, and at a great price.
Had an acer, increased RAM, still slow to refresh etc. Saw this and just bought it. So far it seems fast, light, loads if keyboard covers, obviously we just want uk QUERTY. Takes a bit of get used to the feel of rubber keyboard, although I don’t know why !! Good value
My HP laptop had stopped working and i needed a replacement. Because of the money that i had already wasted. I wasn’t in a position to get another one and started to look for alternatives. This is where i found this product. I’d never heard of the brand but because of the competitive price and the related specs, i took a chance. Thank god that i did. I’m so happy with my new sgin laptop. I will never buy another big brand laptop because why waste the money when you can purchase one that does everything but for a much better price. Good job Sgin.
I bought this for my fathers 60th Birthday as he needed a new laptop. He only really uses it for online videos, emails, online ordering etc. It has been great so far. The picture quality is outstanding, which was the first thing he noticed. The set up was easy and the alternative keyboard layouts were a nice inclusion. The SSD make the boot-up lighting quick which has made a big difference to speed and performance compared to his old laptop. Overall, this seems great value for money and even comes with a one year warrenty and includes the option to extend it to two years for free.
My wife bought me this laptop for my birthday. She paid a very reasonable price and I’ve found it very good value for money.
I spent some time updating Windows 11 and in normal everyday use it’s fast and responsive. However, it hasn’t many programs on it yet of lots of data so I imagine it will slow a little in time.
There are rubber overlays for the keyboard to make sure it’s ok for the uk, however, once put in place the keyboard is fully responsive and I’m hardly aware it is there now.
The screen is clear.
I’ve carried it around away from the home on a few occasions without any problems.
Having previously shelled out for an all singing, all dancing PC at great expense, which has had numerous problems over the years and a broken hinge for some time, when my hard disc crash decided just to buy a cheaper laptop. Miss some of the higher end specifications. Was used to a light up keyboard and have found it difficult to read the keyboard letters in my dark cottage, but for the money this seems very good value. It has done everything I have wanted so far. Downloading Microsoft Office was a breeze and so far has communicated with my printer without problem. For general browsing and Office applications this does the job at a very good price.
I really like this laptop even though I’d never heard of the brand before. Will definitely buy this again.
Set up was very easy, even though I’d never used ‘Windows 11’ before. I found it easier than Windows 10. Colour/contrast/sound are all really good.
My old laptop was originally Windows 7, but it got a iris, so was wiped off and replaced with Windows 10 which I found difficult, so was pleasantly impressed with how easy Windows 11was to use.
The only negative is that whilst live streaming,TRP kept popping up but I’m hoping that it’s just because I need to set the settings properly,as it’s all I’ve used it for. Otherwise I really like this laptop and would buy this brand again.
Hello everyone
Need your help, I bought a laptop, everything is fine, but there is a problem with charging …. I bought an adapter for a UK socket …. but in 3 hours it was charged only by 7% …. advise what to do? Thank you
I like how light weight it is and l am getting on really well with it. Going to do my first zoom meeting tomorrow using i
Overall considering just how cheap this is compared to other laptops with similar specs – I’m very impressed!
It arrived a day earlier than expected. When I opened the box I surprised to see two silicone keyboard covers/protectors. It worked straight out of the box and was incredibly easy to set up. It boots up from cold in no time at all, it really is quick.
I was a little worried about buying a new laptop, thinking it would be difficult to get on with (like when us oldies get a new phone ), but it was so easy to use and the screen is sharp and clear, perfect for looking at photos, internet browsing and I’ve even watched a couple of films.
I don’t play games, but my grandchildren really love gaming on it when they come over.
I’ve had it for several weeks now and can’t fault it.
I use my laptop for documents, photos, music and streaming.
The picture quality is outstanding, which was the first thing I showed my husband. The set up was so easy, with instructions to assist in ensuring a smooth transition into the use of the laptop.
The new thing for me with this PC is the SSD. This has made a big difference to speed and performance compared to a standard hard drive.
Overall, I am very very pleased with my present.
100 per cent recommended.
On the outside, Light weight, slim, space grey finish. You can carry this with one hand!
Extreme screen clarity. Bought this as a dual purpose for gaming and has a subscription to Windows 11 which I use for studying.
Ease of set up – totally guided process.
Battery is much longer life than previous laptops.
Came with several keyboard covers to protect the keyboard from dust and crumbs.
I’m not easily impressed but I’m absolutely loving this!.
Fantastic budget price but high spec. I thought there would be a catch at this price but performs just as well as a much more expensive brand.
I can see this is going to be a market
leader – no competition!
It comes preloaded with Windows 11 which is ideal considering Microsoft no longer support version 8.1. I have the grey version which looks sleek but the keys can be difficult read in poor light. Fortunately, it came with a cover (see photo) which not only clearly shows the characters, but will also help prevent dust and crumbs finding their way in. The keyboard pad is larger than my old laptop, which means it has separate number keys like a standard keyboard. The mouse pad is also larger.
There’s no CD or DVD drive but this makes the laptop slimmer and lighter. It has a couple of USB ports and a micro-SD port if you need to transfer data. I’m very happy with this machine.
The laptop on the whole is a great upgrade. I bought the 12GB version so it runs really well and handles many tasks at once.
For the price paid I would highly recommend this product, despite it being a relatively unknown brand. Upon receipt of the laptop there is a offer inside the box to sign-up to get a further 12 months warranty. A no-brainer!
Bought this at a great bargain price of 209.99 to replace my old PC which was taking up too much room in my living room. I am physically challenged and this is slim and light weight so I can also carry it into my bedroom and use it in bed. Very easy to set up, easy to use with decent size screen and clear features. It comes with keyboard overlays to keep it clean or to change the layout. Quick start up, good battery life. Never heard of the brand before but so far can’t fault it and would highly recommend.
I use it for general surfing, online shopping and watching films. Works well with speakers. I can’t comment on gaming as I don’t play games.
Excellent value for money, great little laptop that runs well. I play Sims 4 on it and it runs it with ease. Very happy with my purchase.
Huge bargain for 300, 12GB RAM! Runs slick and long battery life, works well for streaming but can lag when casting to another device, overall far exceeds expectations.
This laptop has adequate battery life for our needs, it is easy to operate with a decent size screen. Great for gaming and work projects.
I loved the use of this laptop but I found it may be a bit too ‘chunky’ and not easily carried around. It’s great for staying home based.
There is no port for a printer cable but that generally is not a problem these days with wireless printers.
I use this mainly as my personal computer, not for work, and browsing is lightning fast, much faster than my other computer. Also the battery life is very good.
I dont do gaming so cant comment.
For me this computer is very much a bargain and has taken the pain out of browsing for me due to the speed.
It is very light and portable. Also very quiet (silent in fact) as the storage is solid state, 250 GB, which is plenty for my use. It also takes my 350 GB external drive without any fuss. It has a very pleasing aesthetic about it. The screen is crystal clear particularly for reading all manner of text information and for viewing via streaming platforms.
Performance wise it’s ideal. It is fast. Boots up and shuts down in no time at all. Multitasking is no problem with this laptop. I can have several applications open at any one time and still be able to surf the internet without any noticeable slowing down of functionality. The battery life is excellent. I have a reading of 10+ hours on a full charge. Currently it is on 88% with an 8hr 45mins estimate, as I write this.
Whilst it comes with a keyboard overlay, (“” sign and “@” are in different places), I have found this a welcome addition in fact, as it prevents all manner of “stuff” falling in. It also helps the keyboard stand out more for me. See picture.
It is the perfect laptop for home and personal use, at a great price. I would highly recommend this to anyone looking for an affordable replacement or addition.
This laptop very good value even at full price. It runs on an SSD so startup is almost instant and data retrieval is very quick. The lack of a HDD means low noise levels too. It also comes with multiple keyboard configurations to suit your preferences.
Overall a very good laptop.
Found the laptop to be easy to use and using the keyboard overlay was unusual but got use to it only using it for home and personal work at the mome
A steal on sale. Needed a new laptop for university work and this one does the job perfectly. Track pad was a little confusing at first, but a wireless mouse fixed that.
I use the laptop for gaming and all office based programmes. The battery life is excellent and it’s very quick to start up. Runs really smoothly and has great storage. Love it !
We came across the laptop and did some research with the brand, all seemed well. We got the laptop and I am glad as it is so far brilliant, runs well and the quality is very good.
Purchased the laptop based on price and product reviews.
Came pre Installed windows 11 and I then installed ms office professional.
Very fast laptop compared with my old Lenovo and easy to use. For the price can’t fault.
I needed a new laptop for work. I didn’t want to spend a fortune but still wanted a quality product. I found both. The price was really reasonable and the performance met all my expectations. A great buy!
I bought this as a gift for my daughter, who is about to do her GCSE’s this coming summer. What can I say the price I paid for this Laptop was an absolute bargain, the brand maybe not be that well known but so far it has been brilliant. For someone who is at school or college, this laptop is perfect for them, for gaming, I really am not sure about the higher-powered games, my daughter is only really into Minecraft and that runs well on the laptop.
Some of the features which gave it a five-star rating are the keyboard overlays which are included to protect and keep the keyboard clean of which two are provided and also it has a number pad which some of the laptops now do now seem to have or you have to pay extra for.
Overall excellent Value for money at what I paid 209.99
Could I really get all of this for 300?
I use the laptop for basic office applications, photo processing and that’s about it. Can’t comment really on the gaming side of things because I don’t use it for that, but the processor does what I need it to do.
The screen is bright and clear.
Battery life is good.
It’s fast, silent, the build quality feels fine and it has a keyboard overlay that keeps the keys clean. I was a little disappointed at first that one or two of the keys on the keyboard had different symbols to my previous laptop and I was skeptical about using the overlay. After a short time I got used to it and like the idea that it keeps the everyday dust and debris from getting between the keys. The keys also feel fine to touch.
Like Windows 11 but I think I’ll have to study it’s features in a book to get the best results.
All in all, very happy with my purchase, it’s got great reviews and I can see why. The two years warranty is also reassuring.
At the end of the day, it depends what you expect your laptop to do.
This one suits me fine and I have saved at least 200 on a named brand. What’s not to like?
Bought this for my daughter and she absolutely loves it. Plenty space for files for years to come. Great power and speed. You won’t find another laptop of this spec. Delighted
Great laptop for the price. My daughter is really happy with it. It loads very fast from start, has Windows 11 and runs really quick. The 12gb Ram allows for a number of applications to be running at the same time. This is ideal for my daughter studying her GCSEs.
Perfect for every day use , and the price for a boxing day sale ,well doubt there is many that will compare. can’t complain does what i bought it for .
I do love this laptop and it meets all my needs. There’s only one thing that I think needs to be upgraded is the battery life on it. Besides that it’s perfect for me
Not a mainstream brand, but I knew what I was ordering, and had no interest in gaming with it. It does what it says on the tin and is perfect as a backup PC to use when I am away travelling
Early days but I bought this for my 15year old for GCSEs. Can’t beat the price compared to how powerful it is. I was concerned about the keypad but its fine and she’s added the rubber cover she wanted which looks fine. It’s got a decent size screen and she’s watched films on it. She tells me the only downside is that the camera needs a lot of light to not look green and it’s not a brand she’s ever heard of so won’t give her any street cred at school! All in all seems to be good value for money and not heavy either.
I have not received from the makers “SGIN” any acknowledgement that the 3 laptops I ordered, have been registered with SGIN for warranty purposes, which is somewhat annoying, as I believe if you want to sell more goods then the customer service back up has to be second to none However SGIN were prompt in replying to a query I had about one of the laptops, even though I didn’t think they understood my questions.
What I didn’t like about the laptop was the operating system “Windows 11” It is supposed to be a simplified operating system, but I did not like it, and of all the Microsoft Window upgrades, Windows 11 is one of the worst, but this will equally apply to any other brand of PC or laptops using the Windows 11 OS. As I said the laptop is works great just a shame Windows 11 doesn’t do the laptop justice, as I would much prefer windows 10.
J.C
light weight, great screen size. I was slightly concerned about the layover for the keyboard but WOW, I think all keyboards need this. its so easy to use, clean hygenic and can be interchanged for your desired language.
Another thing I also think is genius is the interchangeable plug. I work betweek France and UK and the ease of changing the plug in is remarkable its a great feature.
The sound quality is great too
there is nothing i do not like about this laptop.
I am not a gamer so i cannot comment on this.
I use the laptop for un complicated use of microsoft office, some youtube watching, pod cast listening etc. website for my business.. All working very well. Highly recommened this Laptop.
SGIN Laptop 15.6 Inch 8GB RAM 256GB SSD, Laptop Windows 11 Intel Celeron N4020 Processor(Up to 2.8GHz), HD Notebook with 2xUSB 3.0, WiFi, Bluetooth 4.
Again, I was sceptical re the rubber keyboard overlays but with the UK one in place the keyboard is very responsive and it does keep the actual keys clean. It has a QWERTY keyboard but some of the function keys need the overlay – eg @ and some other function keys. I suppose if you got to know the keyboard you would need the overlay. It comes fully loaded with Windows 11. Not an incredibly fast processsor but it can handle most things and has a good memory system. We needed to buy Microsoft Office as word etc is not pre-loaded. Overall – an really excellent machine and for the price who needs to spend 200 + more.
The screen size at 15.6″ is exactly what I was looking for and the picture quality/clarity is excellent – as well as this, the battery life far exceeded my expectations and lasts for hours!
Dont be put off by the amazing price, this is far better than any major named manufacturer and the build quality is arguably better – this is a genuine bargain and cannot be faulted, the long warranty backs this up!
My recommendation would be to buy this laptop if you can – if you are looking for a fast, high-quality laptop at an affordable price – you won’t be disappointed!
I reserve judgement on the Windows 11 OS – but that is not the fault of the laptop – which runs it effortlessly.
The laptop comes with a “blank” keboard – and eight or so keyboard overlays for different layouts. I was skeptical about these initially but they hug the keys snugly and the keyboard action is quite acceptable. I hope that, when I wear this out, I will be able to get a replacement.
It is slim and light. The battery life looks good – though I mostly run my laptops plugged in.
It is a bit short on USB ports – but I have a small four way which lets me add what I need to and charge my phone and Kindle.
The power lead is a little on the short side – or maybe the Dell charger was a bot on the long side – but it is handily small.
I’ve given it points for gaming because, though I don’t game, I do use some demanding CAD CAM software which it runs happily
Positives outweigh the few negatives and I am happy with my purchase
The first installation of the system if you have a current MS account like me is very simple and complete in about 15 minutes. Be aware to run a full update after this to allow the new windows 11 to be fully updated.
It fires up really fast and the 8GB of RAM along with the 256GB SSD make it feel very responsive. I also purchased a 256GB TF card on Amazon for 20 and it acts a great internal storage card for data files to help keep the SSD clear with only the OS and Installed software.
All in all, for the price I paid, I am very pleased with this laptop. I also followed the link in the SGIN documentation to register my purchase and receive a free extended warranty for 24 months in total.
Summery is: Very Good & Recommended.
I needed a quick replacement without breaking the bank. After some searching I came across this laptop.
It really fit the bill in terms of the kind of specs I was looking for. But just as importantly it was within the kind of budget I was looking for.
I ordered it. Came earlier than expected and I was very excited as I started up my new laptop and installed the appropriate apps for my video editing.
I’m very happy with this laptop. I was expecting (with my budget) that I might have to get a second hand computer temporarily until I could upgrade at a later date.
But with this brand new laptop, I am very happy with it. It allows me to do my work very well.
I now have a computer that is dedicated to my work. My desktop still works and is in use, but for some reason won’t allow me to complete certain tasks. So I keep that for my daily use and stuff.
But for video editing, I feel I can keep this laptop for quite a while. I really don’t have to consider upgrading yet. This is good enough for me.
It’s not a temp laptop, it’s now happily, become my dedicated laptop for my video editing.
It’s a great computer. If you are looking for a decent laptop at a reasonable price. This will definitely work for you.
Especially if you are looking for something like emails, net surf and things of that nature.
I don’t use it for gaming so can’t go into that. But for video editing, for me it’s great. Works perfectly for what I need it for.
In short, very happy with this laptop and I would recommend it for students and professionals looking for a good laptop to use for their work.
Thumbs up for me
Well, first and foremost, it is incredible value for money.
More than powerful enough for my needs and probably 90% of the public also.
I browse web pages, watch YouTube videos, edit the occasional pic using GIMP, and record & edit music using Audacity.
It handles all the above with ease.
The Screen is large and pretty nice; the Speakers are adequate for watching videos; Keyboard is fine (I’m a two-finger typist); Trackpad is large & works well.
It has a standard larger USB port on either side.
The left side also has one newer type C USB port and a mini HDMI port for attaching an extra monitor.
On the right, there’s also a Headphone socket and an SD expansion slot for increasing file storage.
It comes with Windows 11 preloaded, but expect to waste an hour or so downloading the missed OS updates.
Once done though, I must say I do prefer Windows 11 to 10.
So what are the compromises?
It is as you would expect for this price plastic throughout. I’d recommend that you don’t treat it roughly.
Aesthetically it is OK, not ugly, but not a head-turner either.
The keyboard isn’t made for any particular market. Instead, you are supplied with lots of rubber mats, one of which has a UK Qwerty layout.
At first, I was skeptical about this rubber mat that lies on top of the keyboard. However, it works just fine. It is precision molded and slips into place and somehow stays put.
You can open and close the laptop lid and it doesn’t move.
The printed letter contrast makes the keyboard very easy to read.
I can even see a benefit from this rubber mat insert, as it protects the laptop from dust & debris and small beverage spills.
The battery lasts several hours. I think it will just about last a full office day.
I only have one real criticism of this machine. It isn’t a deal breaker however for this price, but I am disappointed that the power supply is not a USB type C but a proprietary connection. Not unusual a few years ago, but many companies are adopting this universal type C connection as a standard.
So I’d better not lose the charging brick.
In summary, for the price, this machine is an absolute bargain.
Simply, if you look after your stuff and don’t do things like regular video editing, then this machine is probably what you’re looking for.
