Tena ciertas dudas de si comprarlo debido a que el precio me pareca un poco alto, pero la verdad es que estoy encantado con el monitor. Lo utilizo tanto para teletrabajar como para jugar a la ps5 y va de lujo.
The setting up was a breeze, and (me being a very tidy person) I liked the way I was able to hide away those pesky cables inside the centre pillar. We have our monitor configured so that we look at it straight on, so the ability to only adjust the height and tilt was fine for us, however, being unable to rotate the unit from side to side might prove a slight disadvantage for some.
To my eyes, the picture quality is very good indeed, though I did tweak it slightly to suit my tastes. This monitor features a dedicated FPS game picture mode which subtly tweaks contrast and brightness settings – used along with a Black Equaliser feature, this all aids the user to see more clearly the details in the darker areas of the screen. In operation this monitor was an absolute joy to use, gameplay was lovely and smooth, and the realistic graphics really stood out for me. Overall, I’m over the moon with this gaming monitor and have no hesitation in recommending it.
Ich wrde normal nur 4 Sterne geben, aber die letzte Firmware hat das Suchen des Signals deutlich beschleunigt und es wurden seit paar Wochen auch einige andere Fehler behoben.
Ich wrde das Firmware-Update jedem empfehlen! Denkt daran, dabei ein USB-C Kabel zu nutzen, das auch Daten transferieren kann. Sonst schlgt das Update fehlt. Oder alternativ z.B. mit einem Laptop zusammen.
Bei nur 96-Dimming-Zonen liefert der Algorithmus echt ab. Es ist auch nicht auf dem Niveau eines Oled, hat dafr aber mehr Helligkeit in HDR. Ich hatte daneben noch einen Samsung G8 Oled, den ich zu Gunsten des Inzone zurckgegeben habe, weil ich die pixelige, verfrbte Schrift beim Arbeiten nicht ausstehen konnte und meine Augen selbst nach Wochen noch wehtaten oder Schrift verzerrt war. Klar, das Schwarz sah besser aus, aber in HDR gab es bei einigen Spielen Probleme, die ich beim Inzone nicht habe.
P.S. Sony in Semi-Glossy wre ein Traum 😉 Die nchste Iteration wird dann wahrscheinlich auch vollends auf Mini LED umswitchen. Aber fr die erste Version ist der Monitor durchaus gut.
Absolutely superb bit of kit. Picture quaoity is amazing. Easy to set up and use, infinitely adjustable to get it just right. Superb. 5 stars.

An excellent visual experience with a couple of minor negatives.
Good points –
* The picture quality is truly amazing with realistic colour balance, incredible detail and shading. For gaming it is a fantastic experience, the screen being big enough and clear enough to give an immersive experience. As I now work from home i mainly use this monitor for my work; I’m a software developer and this is a game-changer, if you’ll excuse the pun – because of the clarity of this monitor I can fit sizeable chunks of code on the screen along with file lists, unit test viewers and other views without any strain on the eye, even though the text is able to be very small compared to my other monitor.
* A lot of ports: Couple of 4K HDMI ports, Display port, USB ports A, C and upstream + audio.
* Great profile, slender with a white back and an interesting and sturdy stand design that integrates a cable guide to tidy things up a bit.
* Easy to setup physically and console/PC connecting is as simple as plugging the cable in.
* Good selection of configuration settings if you need them.
Not so good points –
* The configuration settings are great, but accessing them is via a small joystick at the rear of the screen which I’ve found a bit clunky and unresponsive.
* The sound is not great but I imagine most people would be using headphones or separate speaker system – if you’re paying this much for a monitor you’re unlikely to skimp on the sound.
* The power pack is enormous, with a tiny little power lead, probably the size of the power pack is necessary but a longer lead should be provided.
Overall a fabulous visual experience, quite expensive but if you’re a really keen gamer then you’ll likely find it worth the cost. I am also really impressed with the clarity I get for daily work use.
Gekauft habe ich ihn fr 970 und bin durchweg zufrieden.
Ich spiele hauptschlich FPS aber auch Story Spiele – bis jetzt konnte mich das Bild jedes Mal voll und ganz berzeugen.
Die Farben werden sehr schn wiedergegeben, die Reaktionszeit ist ausreichend gut und das local dimming ist mir der hhere Preis definitiv wert.
Es mag sein, dass das Preis- Leistungs- Verhltnis fr solche Kleinigkeiten nicht das beste ist, aber Plug&Play an der PS5 mit den perfekten Farben und eben dem local dimming sind es mir persnlich schon wert, da ich jeden Tag auf den Monitor schaue und diese Features sehr zu schtzen wei.
Dass man den Monitor nicht groartig nach unten neigen kann stimmt schon, aber in meinem Fall steht er nicht erhht, weshalb mir das keine Einschrnkung gibt.
Der Fu ist natrlich Geschmackssache, mir gefllt er zum Beispiel sehr gut, aber er steht nach hinten tatschlich ein gutes Stck raus, aber das stellt in meinem Fall kein Problem dar, da er nicht press an der Wand steht.
Die Lautsprecher sind natrlich nicht die besten, aber ich denke mal, dass jeder Gamer ein Headset oder anstndige PC Lautsprecher besitzt.
Das einzige Problem”, das ich jetzt einmal hatte ist, dass er whrend des Spielens im 120FPS Modus das Bild mittendrin kurz umgeschaltet hat und alles ganz blass wurde.
Das hat sich aber von alleine schnell wieder angepasst.
Den INZONE M9 wrde ich mir jederzeit wieder kaufen, da ich rundum zufrieden bin und zu keinem Zeitpunkt den Kauf bereut habe.
Wenn ihr 120FPS auf der Konsole haben wollt msst ihr unbedingt den ko Modus ausschalten, sonst kann er nur maximal auf 60FPS laufen.
Um den ko Modus am Monitor ausschalten zu knnen, msst ihr aber vorher an der Konsole/PC das HDR deaktivieren.
Dann geht ihr einfach ins Men des Bildschirms:
Weiter > komodus > Aus
Danach knnt ihr an der Konsole dann wieder ganz normal das HDR einschalten.
Nachtrag: das Problem des blassen Bildes hatte ich im Laufe der Wochen vermehrt, das ich nun aber durch ein Firmwareupdate beheben konnte.
Als Konsolenspieler muss man seinen Monitor dafr am PC oder Laptop anschlieen.

The Sony INZONE M9 is an amazing monitor. Easily the best I have ever owned. It has everything a gamer could ask for. The design is really cool. The monitor stand is rather unique in looks with a tripod design. The screen looks fantastic for gaming. At 4k resolution HDR videos are smooth thanks to the 144Hz display, have rich vibrant colors, and amazing fast response time of 1ms. Can’t miss out raving about the seamless PS5 connection. How it automatically adjusts the picture settings, sets the HDR mode depending on if I’m gaming or watching Netflix or Disney Plus on my PS5. I highly recommend this exceptional monitor for games and also for using with your desktop or laptop setup.
This is an excellent monitor, and has really opened my eyes to 4K gaming. It has some really useful features too, which make it a good choice for anyone who uses their computer space for both work and leisure.
For reference, I’m using an Intel core i7-10700k CPU and Nvidia 3070 FE graphics card, running the latest 517.48 drivers from 27 Sept 22. This is important, because earlier drivers did not have full support for the Inzone monitors, and the latest driver update added it. Most of the reviews predate that driver update, so may not be getting the full experience. The 3070 is supposedly marginal for 4K gaming, but actually performed really well. I’m not a ‘hardcore’ gamer by any stretch, but I don’t have much patience with stutter or tearing.
I usually use a 32″ 1440p curved Samsung monitor, so this 27″ flat screen felt like a bit of a step backwards. I’ll be honest, I’d pre-judged this monitor based on its high price, and I expected to hate it, right up to the moment I turned it on. Holy cow. It looks incredible!
I’ll quickly go over the packaging and contents — it arrives in a far smaller box than I was expecting. The box is cardboard, and the internal packaging is the usual moulded polystyrene. For an expensive monitor, I can excuse SONY for not using something that’s easier to recycle.
The box demonstrates Olympic Standard packing — everything is interlocked to make the best use of space. I’m not sure I’d be able to get the monitor back in the box if I wanted to. As well as the screen, you get a very heavy, metal stand and a reassuringly large power brick which uses a bizarrely short, detachable mains cable. You also get a cable with a European plug on, which I don’t need, a huge manual, some stickers and the screws to assemble the stand.
Ignore the manual. I’m a bit of a manual nerd, but this one is rubbish. It tells you absolutely nothing, in about forty languages. It tells you how to put it together and plug it in, but tells you NOTHING about the on-screen display or what any of the settings do. Fortunately, it’s reasonably intuitive.
The monitor certainly looks nice. It’s designed so it looks good from any angle, rather than being a boring black blob from the back. It’s made from extremely high-quality plastic, and moulded in the same ‘almost white’ colour as my Inzone headset — and presumably the same colour as a Playstation, although I don’t currently have one to confirm this.
There is also an LED strip on the back, and you can change the colour of this using the Inzone software. So far, it doesn’t appear to be reactive to the picture on-screen, but maybe a future update will implement this as it would be nice to have some ambient backlight. Apparently you have to turn off the ‘Eco’ mode to activate the rear light, but that’s the first thing I did anyway, so it was always on for me!
The stand is pretty good. It looks flimsy, but instead of the usual ‘flat base with a pole’ thing used on most monitors, SONY have thought about this, and made it a tripod. It goes up and down and tilts as you’d expect. Personally I don’t think it goes high enough for my preference, but it’s not bad. It doesn’t turn side to side — you have to move the legs. The front leg is hollow so you can route the cables through it. If you prefer to wall-mount your monitor or use your own mount (as I will), the monitor has a 100mm VESA mount on the back.
Ok, enough about the cosmetics. Is the picture any good?!
In short. YES. Oh my. Yes.
Going back from a curved monitor is very odd. The flat monitor looks as if it’s curved the opposite way, but that’s an optical illusion, and I got used to it fairly quickly.
I’d never really noticed until now, but on my big 2K monitor, the pixels are visible — barely. On this SONY monitor, no matter how closely I peer at the screen I can’t see the pixels. For general work like typing this review, that means the text is pin-sharp. Yes, it’s slightly smaller than my usual screen, but when the text is this easy to read, it doesn’t matter. That was unexpected.
The real purpose of this monitor is for gaming, so I fired up a few games to see how it looked.
Horizon Zero Dawn looks absolutely stunning on the ‘optimised’ settings recommended by GeForce Experience, and the monitor reported FPS around 80-90 which is perfectly acceptable to me. The monitor menu has a setting which overlays the FPS directly, without software intervention. With the monitor set to use G-Sync, that figure changes, presumeably indicating that the monitor is adaptively changing the refresh rate.
This only worked for me when connected via DisplayPort. I tried connecting using HDMI, and although the monitor changes refresh rate when the game starts, it doesn’t adapt during gameplay. Horizon ZD was locked at 120Hz and looked fine, but Borderlands 2 decided it wanted to be at 60Hz no matter what, and I got quite a bit of screen tearing as a result. This could be the cable I was using, which has ‘4K’ written on it, but the spec says it’s only HDMI 2.0. Switching back to the DP cable instantly unlocked the refresh rate, and the picture was smooth and tear-free, especially when I limited the FPS to 120 in-game. That seems to be about as much as the 3070 can manage in 4K, which is perfectly acceptable — it’s more than I was getting in 1080p with my old 1060.
I ran through my most demanding games — Shadow of the Tomb Raider, DOOM: Eternal, and my personal favourite, No Man’s Sky. All of them look fabulous. Some of that is the 4K resolution, and some of it is the clarity of the colour and brightness. I need to investigate the settings of my old monitor, as I’m sure it can look better than it does right now.
I also tried a comparison, running Borderlands 2 in 1440p. It looked excellent. Very, very similar to 4K, and the refresh rate was rock solid at 144Hz. I did see very mild juddering, which disappeared completely when I dropped the FPS to 120 in-game. So, dropping from 4K to 1440p gained nothing in that game. Horizon ZD was a completely different story. I gained about 20FPS, but the picture looked noticeably less crisp. Last month I’d have though it looked fine, but once you have seen it in 4K, there’s no coming back!
The monitor has two HDMI, one DP and one USB C Alt Mode which is DP compatible. You can switch between inputs using either the mushroom button on the back of the monitor, or with the Inzone software. The mushroom button is actually really annoying. It’s too sensitive so you can accidentally jump out of the menu, or into the wrong setting. Fortunately you don’t need to use it very much.
The monitor also has USB sockets, and auto KVM switching. What? This means you can plug a mouse and keyboard into the monitor, and use them to switch between two different computers (maybe gaming PC and work laptop), or a PC and a console. You can also plug a headset in, and share that between sources.
Which you will need to, as the monitor’s in-built sound is terrible. You can use it as a last resort, but it’s tinny and flat.
I’m not going to go all technical about the picture quality. I think it looks amazing, especially when you turn off most of the presets and get a natural colour balance. It’s bright, crisp and incredibly clear. It looks stunning for gaming. It’s very clear and easy on the eye for office work. It even looks nice from the back.
It’s been really well though out, and it’s obviously designed for people with limited space. I’ve seen other reviewers comment that they don’t understand who this monitor is for, since ‘most console gamers plug into the big 4K TV’. Well, if they have a big 4K TV they might. Or, they might be a student in a small room in halls, or live in an HMO, or a barrack block. Or be a middle-aged bloke who has the box-room to use as a home office / man cave / gaming room while his wife ‘watches’ the big TV through her closed eyelids…
OK, elephant in the room. It’s expensive. At first glance it seems excessively expensive. “You can buy a 50″ 4K TV for less than 300”, I hear you cry. Yes, you can, if you have room for one, and don’t mind compromising on refresh rate. This is a proper gaming monitor, and its special move is the high, adaptive refresh rate and G-Sync compatibility. If your graphics card has the horsepower (I’d suggest RTX 3070 as a minimum), then running games in 4K at high FPS and high refresh rates looks spectacular. This monitor can do that, and not many can. At the moment, any 4K monitor that can manage refresh rates higher than 60Hz is expensive. It’s essentially ready for the new RTX 40xx series, as it can outperform all but the top-end 30 series.
If you are someone (like me) who has limited space and needs a top-notch monitor to use for both entertainment and work, this one is well-worth investigating.
The Sony M9 27 inch monitor (SDM-U27M90) is aimed at gamers, so I tried it with ‘The Talos Principle’ so that I could at least comment on its performance in that realm. I am not an habitual gamer, and the PC hardware is not the most up-to-date, so the description that follows is not to be regarded as an expert technical analysis of the unit’s capabilities. Such tests should be available elsewhere on the internet.
Setting Up
The monitor is quite standard in appearance, with a narrow black plastic frame and a grey domed plastic back. The heavy matching stand is straightforward to assemble and attach to the back of the monitor, integrating with the back cover with a positive locking action. In form, it is a tripod, with the monitor attached to the central over-sized leg via a knuckle joint. It has a great constructivistic look, but is hampered by limited vertical movement and the inability to swing in the horizontal plane. At the maximum height, the bottom of the monitor is 123mm above the desk, and it will go as low as 58mm. The monitor can be bracket-mounted using the 100 x 100mm- grid threaded holes. It weighs 4.6 Kg, or 6.8Kg with the stand.
Manuals
The ‘Getting Started’ leaflet shows in too much detail how to assemble the stand, but little else. The ‘Operating Instructions’ manual has only a few pages in English, and is not very helpful, being limited to safety, installation and specifications. The Help Guide, an online manual, accessible from Sony’s website, but not downloadable as a whole, is more detailed, but didn’t provide all the answers.
Connections and controls
All of the sockets are located on a downward-facing panel across the lower back of the monitor. They are labelled clearly with a picture of each connector and its orientation below each socket, but it is low enough that some crouching and peering is usually required. The hefty mains transformer block has a shortish 19.5 volt output lead whose concentric plug goes into a socket in line with the stand. The display input sockets come next, and finally, three USB inputs.
The power button and a joystick control are located near the bottom left-hand corner of the back cover. The latter is used for all adjustments and settings and is awkward to use, especially if your desk is cluttered, but it leaves the front and edges of the frame clear.
There are no leads supplied with this monitor. Display input choice comprises two HDMI, one USB-C and one Display Port socket. I initially used a Display Port (DP) lead connected to one of the two DP outputs of my PC’s graphics card. When turned on, the monitor will search for a signal, starting with the HDMI inputs, then the DP and finally the USB-C. This takes a little while, and could become irritating, particularly because it is also done after the PC or the monitor itself has woken from sleep. The input can be selected manually using the joystick, and automatic selection can be turned off, but I don’t think that helps. I connected an additional lead from the other DP output of the PC to one of the HDMI inputs on the monitor. In theory, this input should be found first and selected, but the monitor doesn’t see the signal at all. This needs further investigation. I’ll update if I get to the bottom of it.
The other inputs, for peripherals and charging, constitute a USB hub. There are three USB A sockets controlled by built-in KVM (Keyboard, Video, Mouse) switches. In my case, by default, they did not work. This is because the two upstream connections are linked to HDMI1 and HDMI2, and to change this, you need to turn off ECO mode, using the on-screen display (OSD). As I had connected the PC via the USB-B upstream input, I had to link KVM2 to the DP. If it hadn’t been for the online manual, sketchy as it is, I would never have worked it out. KVM1 by the way is associated with the USB-C upstream input. The USB sockets can be set to charge devices when the monitor is off (again, ECO mode needs to be off). If all that seems complicated, I believe it will allow switching between two input devices (say a PC and a laptop or games console) without needing to unplug your mouse and keyboard etc, or to have two sets. Even without the switching functions, the USB sockets provided additional inputs for the PC. I found that the data connection and charging also was occasionally lost after waking up the computer or monitor, requiring unplugging and reconnecting of the upstream cable.
There are a number of picture modes, including an automatic setting, which chooses the mode according to the input. Gaming Assist provides aids such as crosshairs, timer, frame-rate counter, adaptive synch/VRR (to improve movement rendition), response time and black equalizer. There is a full range of picture adjustments, including aspect ratio, audio controls, and a screen reader for voice control of the monitor. Windows software can be downloaded to enable changing settings through the PC.
Picture
The monitor is expensive, and that must be down to the quality of the panel, and the technology designed to get the most out of it. Although my old Dell Precision running the legacy version of the game is far from cutting edge, I was impressed by the sharpness and tonal range and the richness of the colours. That is without any tweaking. Some of the more vertiginous situations were a bit too convincing. Movement could be jerky, no doubt due to the hardware rather than any deficiencies of the monitor. For general use, too, the monitor is a great improvement on my old Dell one, providing more screen space and crystal clear text across the whole area, and excellent rendition of photographs and videos. I am using the Dell sound bar in preference to the internal speaker.
I believe the picture quality justifies the high cost of this monitor, outweighing the minor irritations and the limited support (both physical and moral). It is hard to give it fewer than four stars, despite the criticisms.
On first setting up this monitor I was instantly impressed by the sleek design and over look. It was easy enough to physically put together with just a couple of screws needed to attach the stand.
I found it connected to my computer just as simply as well, and the monitor has all its settings easily available and adjustable via a buttons and joystick on the back even if it’s not connected to a computer.
The screen quality is fantastic. I actually got it mainly to use for editing my photos as previously no screen has even come close to my MacBook. It did need to be colour calibrated, which is needed on all monitors when it comes to editing photo, but even before that I found the colour balance was actually brilliant. Though designed for gaming the screen and picture quality make it perfect for editing photos and films as well!
It also easily plugs into my laptop with a HDMI lead, so if I’ve been editing on that I can switch it to the monitor and carry on instantly.
A couple of negative points though
It doesn’t actually come with any leads at all. I’d have expected at least one HDMI so it was ready to use, but sadly not.
It also doesn’t adjust it position once attached to the stand, so you can’t move the screen about at all.
This makes it hard to actually get to any of the ports as they’re all at the back. Because it’s quite a large monitor it’s not the easiest to move around on your on (not on my small desk anyway) but you can’t get to the ports without spinning the whole thing around.
Overall this is a fantail monitor with amazing picture quality which is great for gaming and photo editing. It does have some design flaws though that are hard to ignore when you’re paying so much for it. For the picture quality alone though I do think I’d still recommend this monitor.
I got this to play games and I absolutely love everything about it the screen quality is amazing & I was super impressed that it came with built in sound almost monitors need speakers but i guess for the price it should do. Everything about this is great and I couldn’t ask for anything more I’m very happy with this product I have no issues with anything!worth more than 5 stars !
I’ve been using the Sony INZONE for about a month and I have to say that it’s incredible.
The screen is crisp, the design is sleek and I can’t believe I went so long without one. My Gsync monitor was always flickering which made me anxious and irritated to work on it. This doesn’t happen with this monitor – no matter how many times I turn it on and off. It’s the perfect size for my desk and the quality of my games is so much better now. I really like how customizable it is and the different modes. This is a good product and I’m so happy I purchased it!
The only downside I think is the high price.
As my family is getting older they want to do gaming more than going for family days out.
We used to use the family TV for gaming, but decided to move the games console upstairs where the PC is. This monitor allows you to easily move between gaming and the PC. It is very easy to use.
The stand seemed to be flimsy, and I was concerned, especially as we have nosy cats. It is actually very sturdy and doesn’t easily get knocked over. My cats haven’t managed to knock it over, which is good.
The current price is 999, which is expensive. However if you spend a lot of time gaming, it is a good investment. There isn’t much point buying expensive games and consoles only to have a sub standard picture display. The picture quality is excellent.

The M9 has a very sleek design which is obviously made to work in conjunction with the Play station 5 because they are of a very similar design. It is very well built and extremely easy to put together.
The installation with the PS5 was a breeze due to the fact that the set up was automatic on turning on.
I played several games to get the most out of VRR . The games I tried were GTA5 online, Far Cry 5,and Far Cry 6. I found that the picture quality for Far Cry 6, which had been re-mastered for the PS5, was incredible having a very crisp clear image.
Using the menu screen whilst playing a game tells you the screen resolution, the refresh rate quality and which HDMi port you are using.
One of the pros is that there is a light at the rear of the monitor which you can change the colour of.

Absolutely stunning monitor, has everything you need for a great 4K gaming experience, runs amazingly well connected to my RTX 3090, handles anything I throw at it.
The overall design is minimal and sleek which is good, because it appears very uncluttered on the desk. Really like the way it sits on my desk and it looks so stylish.
The build quality feels like top quality, good weighted stand, ease of putting together and setting up, simple to connect and use. It has a VGA and HDMI connection which is what most people need.
Generally speaking, 27 inch is a decent size, plus Crisp and clear image on the screen with a very minimal border around it, but is nevertheless a very robust item and simplicity itself to use. The Colours are vibrant and energy consumption is also amazing.
This is an awesome SONY product, let your games come to life, I can’t recommend it highly enough.
The Sony INZONE 27″ M9 monitor offers a great option for gamers as it’s packed with features to provide a wonderful visual experience for both PC and PS5.
Packaging and Contents
The packaging is very standard for a typical computer monitor; outer cardboard box with styrofoam inner packaging.
Contents include the 27″ gaming monitor, power cord (2-pieces), tilt stand, base wings, 2 screws, plastic clip, set-up guide, operating instructions, INZONE sticker, and some other paperwork. Note that there are no cables included, so you’ll need to bring an HDMI or Display port cable to connect.
Be careful when unpacking the monitor box. The 2 screws and clip are very small and would be easy to drop/misplace.
Assembly depends on if you plan to use a wall mount or a desktop setup. I chose the desktop setup which uses all of the pieces. The tilt arm bracket simply slides into the back of the monitor and clicks into place. To attach the base wings to the tilt arm you will use the two screws (so you will need a small phillips head screwdriver). The plastic clip just snaps into place.

Appearance
This monitor is made for both PC and PS5, and it looks like it. The entire INZONE line has a cohesive appearance. The stand and back side are mostly white and there are elements of black that match the aesthetic of the PS5. Wire management is built into the tilt arm so that you can run the wires within the arm minimizing their appearance at your desktop. The backside of the monitor has backlighting. Color can be changed using the INZONE Hub for personal customization.
The screen had a very sharp picture. It was really pretty stunning. The video while gaming had an enjoyable smooth movement. It didn’t have any lag.
Display / Picture Quality
Picture quality is why we are buying the product, and I have to say that the overall picture is just brilliant. Between 4K resolution and VESA Certified Display HDR 600, images are clear and bright. The Full Array Local Dimming aids in contrast to help control the darker aspects. IPS, NVIDIA G-Sync, and Variable Refresh Rate help to control ghosting and blur, match variable frame rates, and eliminate screen tearing and shuttering. Video streams are smooth and clear. Great colouration on games that are pretty pact with vibrant colour does a great job. They have a great amount of detail. Games are smooth and sharp with no visible ghosting or blur. Going from 1080 144hz 1ms monitor to something this hi spec runs a dream, games look beautiful like they should.
Disappointments
Speakers — Don’t purchase this monitor expecting to use it for audio. The speakers are terrible. Speakers are virtually non existent if you want to use them but if you have a headset there is no need. True gamers with this type of moniter use headsets.
Limited movement of monitor — The stand has a pretty wide base, so you need to be aware if using it as a desktop display. The monitor does not swivel, which I find surprising. The tilt arm does provide for a limited amount of tilt.
Power Cord — I have two issues with the power cord. 1) The total length of the power cord seems short. 2) The transformer box is gigantic. I don’t know why this needed to be so big.
Wire Management — The wire management system is limited to how much it can hold, so it’s better to limit the number of wires running through and to use thinner wires if possible.
Plastic Clip — The plastic clip seems odd to me. If you use the wire management system it places the wires at the bottom of the stand. To utilize the plastic clip, you bring the wires back up and they dangle off the back.
Awkward to plug in new wires — Plugging in wires is a little awkward once the monitor is setup. The HDMI ports are directly behind the stand so it seems a little in the way. This is a minor detail as the plugs are fairly typical. I would have just preferred them to not be so close to the arm.
Instructions — The set up for the monitor isn’t very hard. The instructions could have been a little clearer, especially with the wire management portion.
Overall, the Sony H9 monitor is really impressive. It’s vibrant, clear, refreshes quickly, and is generally well done. There are some things that I have mentioned that could be improved, but these are minor (provided you are using a different audio source).
This is my first experience of a high-end Sony monitor, and it’s impressive. Running Windows 11, with high-dynamic range enabled, the colours are vivid and the motion fast and responsive. The monitor copes well with high frame-rates and rapid changes of colour in movies and games.
Personally, I’d prefer a bit of a curve to the display surface, as sitting close to a flat screen of this size results in a noticeable refocussing of the eyes when moving from the centre to the side edges, but that could just be because my middle-aged eyes are getting slower!
The on-screen display menu is accessed by a little joystick on the back of the monitor, alongside the power button. While this makes the front frame cleaner, it’s not the most convenient or ergonomic arrangement. The provided stand felt stable and secure, although I’ve switched it out for a wall-mounted bracket arm, which is working well.
I’ve plugged this into my Gaming PC which I exclusively use for running Microsoft Flight Simulator – which visually is stunning in 1080p but even more so in 4K and wow the step up is mega!
Running on a GeForce RTX 3080 GPU the difference in screen quality is huge. This has wonderfully deep colours, crisp detail and looks amazing. It’s easy to set up and the build quality is fantastic too as to be expected being a Sony brand.
As of today (27th Sept) the Nvidia GeForce Experience has a new driver update released which directly supports these monitors as well making it an even better experience, utilising the full capability of these rapid refresh 4K monitors alongside incredible games like Flight Simulator.
Simply put, this monitor is absolutely stunning.
Out the box I was a bit sceptical of the interesting stand design. It didn’t look to me like it would do a good job at holding the monitor well or staying stable but Sony have came good. The stand is surprisingly heavy which creates a good centre of gravity so the monitor will quite happily sit securely in place. The monitor isn’t screwed onto the stand itself but sits on two forks and then clicks into place. It’s a great design and makes disassembly really easy.
I can’t emphasise enough how beautiful games look on this monitor. It looks fantastic right out the box but with a bit of tweaking of the settings it really does come alive. I played several games that are renowned for being aesthetically beautiful like the Witcher 3, Ori and the Blind Forrest and Horizon Zero Dawn and I was simply blown away. I then tried Wolfenstein as this game can be a bit dark in levels and I was seeing details I haven’t seen before. During all my tests I didn’t notice any latency problems either.
Now we come to the price. At 999, the categories that this monitor would appeal to are quite limited as this monitor is a serious investment. If you’re a competitive gamer or if you are like me whose main hobby is gaming and enjoys beautifully made video games and you want to see them the way they should be seen then I would say this is a justifiable investment.
This Sony INZONE M9 monitor is 27″ and is an absolute beast. With 2 HDMI 2.1 ports and a display port, you can connect your consoles and PC at the same time. This monitor has an IPS panel which supports 4K at 144Hz, 1ms full array local dimming and VRR support. This monitor is branded as one made for PS5 and with the included features like auto HDR tone mapping, it certainly makes a huge difference. There’s some USB inserts and the monitor has a KVM switch which allows you to control multiple computers with just one keyboard and mouse which is great if you are using for both work connected to a laptop and play, connected to a tower. The stand looks really slick, with adjustable height and tilt and the ability to route your power cable makes for the cleanest setup. The picture quality is insane and colours look really sharp. These do have speakers built in but I would NOT play with this and opt for my own headphones because the built in ones sound very bad. The design of the monitor is a curved back and the colours and style resemble that of a PS5. There’s also a nice LED strip at the back of the monitor which you can change the colours of which I thought was a nice touch but I wish it was a lot more powerful as my other LED lights just make this almost invisible. All in all it’s a great looking monitor which can be the perfect one for work and play replacing several monitors and allowing for a cleaner setup. The screen is big enough to game on but much better suited in my opinion on an arm mount for the perfect adjustments as you can only increase height and adjust vertical tilt, not horizontal. The sound is nice that it’s there but not comfortable to use at all and I’d just go straight to plugging in some wireless headphones.
The install of this screen could not have been easier; two screws to build the base; the screen clicks firmly on to the base; then connect power and video input source. All worked first time (and I haven’t opened the instructions yet).
To adjust settings, there is a little thumb joystick on the back next to the power on button. This is simple and intuitive to use.
The screen image is really, really good with very little in the way of reflections due to its matt finish.
I have it connected to a PC and it is amply big enough for me to have a couple of windows open at the same time (e.g. a Word document and a browser). This makes working very easy, rather than constantly flipping between applications.
In terms of downside, other than the premium price, there isn’t one. It is a great product.
I had some gaming friends around to try out the new sony m9 with me to get their thoughts on it as well as mine.
We were all in agreement…
First thing we noticed was the amazing graphics. The colour and clarity is brilliant. Blacks and shadows are distinct giving very good picture detail.
The sound isn’t brilliant direct from the speakers but with headset it’s very good so I advise buying a headset if you haven’t got one.
The refresh rate is quick which is a must for a gamer and we found the aim and speed are consistent and better than what any of us use as monitors currently.
We tried both the ps4 and the ps5 and both with great results.
The colour and style of the monitor matches and is inline with the colour and style of the ps5
There’s no cables with this monitor which was a bit disappointing but we had plenty cables in house already so we used them.
You can connect two PC’s and or laptops and control all of them and switch between the two from one keyboard or mouse which is a bonus if you are using the monitor for work. The connection is smooth and stable with no dropouts or instability.
There’s sony software with which to adjust settings.
A settings button also on the back.
There’s a light strip across the back of the monitor with various colour choices that you access in the settings
The height and tilt is adjustable but it doesn’t rotate so you have to move the stand if you want to angle left or right.
There’s plenty of space underneath for keyboard, mouse etc to keep your area tidy and the cables feed through the inside of the centre leg of the stand.
I would suggest tilting the screen upwards when fitting cables as there’s not a lot of room to manoeuvre your hands once the stand is on.
Ok now the negatives…
There’s no instructions with this monitor it’s a case of plug in your ps gamer and explore from there.
There’s no cables so make sure you have the right connection cables for what you’ll be connecting up to it.
The sound isn’t great from the speakers so unless you have super good hearing you’ll need to buy a headset.
Finally the stand is an enigma if you have never fitted one like this before.
We were scratching our heads for several minutes trying to figure out how it attached ( because there’s no instructions). We finally figured it out and when we did it was so simple.
It slots in.
Price is a little high although the graphics are the best I’ve seen yet. If you are a serious gamer then maybe it’s worth the investment. I will say this…. once you’ve played on this monitor you’ll find it hard to go back to a lesser quality one.
All in all a fantastic graphics gaming monitor. It has a few negatives but nothing that can’t be worked around. There are some good cheaper monitors available but if you want quality graphics and fast refresh rates and responses when gaming then perhaps the Sony inzone M9 is worth the investment.
I’ve given it 4 stars because the lack of instructions and cables and weak sound. Had it included those and better sound It definitely would command 5 stars.
This review is solely my own personal opinion (and that of my gaming partners) that we came to from gaming on this monitor for a week.
The quality of the photos I’ve attached aren’t the best because they were taken with my phone which doesn’t have a brilliant camera but they’ll give you an idea.
I’m not going to be able to give a very technical review as I am a very basic level computer user and only game sporadically when I need a bit of down time but I do use a lot of image editing software so the monitor will get a lot more use in that area.
I must admit, my first opinion – as soon as I’d opened the box – was the surprising lack of any connecting cables, specifically an HDMI 2.1, which a lot of people (including myself) won’t necessarily already have – I certainly didn’t so had to order one separately.
Beyond my frustration at the lack of basic accessories, the actual setup of the monitor was very simple – even for a near total technophobe, like myself. The stand is easy to mount onto the monitor and the cable tidy channel is handy and appreciated. It’s very clear to see from the design of the stand especially that Sony is really pushing the PS5 compatibility.
Now, this is where I know I’m going to make a lot of people squirm… I am using this monitor in tandem with a 2021 MacBook! and I’ve been (so far) using it mainly to play World of Warcraft. I know I am clearly the anti-Christ of gaming but the monitor has made my gaming experience so much nicer. The picture is very clear, crisp and I’ve not needed to adjust brightness or contrast at any point, which is something I’ve had to do regularly with previous monitors.
If I do need to change any settings on it – which is rather unlikely giving the basic way in which I’m using this monitor – there is an easy to navigate menu which allows for versatile customisation – although the RGB LED backlighting is naff and totally pointless (and I like shiny things like that…as my keyboard proves!)
So yeah, if you’re looking to blow nearly a grand on a monitor that you’re going to only use for very light gaming and mainly photo editing, then go for it – it’s a really lovely thing but maybe pay far more attention to reviews from people who will actually be able to give a more technical and gaming orientated opinion.
A great monitor, nice picture and easy set up
Has lots of different settings some including timer, back light display of different colours to light up behind monitor as well as numerous of ports. (Video shows some of the settings and the quality, sound is from the monitor speakers)
Only slight minor is if you like sound with a bit of boom the built in speaker is tinny more your treble but pair with some good speakers and you are sorted
Connected fine to a 3 monitor stand with no issues. A great monitor for PC/ PlayStation gamers. The price is a bit of an investment,so choose for those more sensible gamers that aren’t going to be throwing the controller at it when they are destroyed on fortnite aha

Amazing graphics, I’ve went from 1080p to 4k so that helps. The refresh rate is very good and the setup is incredibly simple. I needed it for gaming and some work. The features look great on this monitor and I have to say the colours on this monitor are eye blowing good. I’ve got it set up on my PC and ps5 no regrets. I’ve had no issues with it at all.It’s an absolutely stunning monitor and runs amazingly well connected to my nvidia geforce rtx 2080 ti. It has everything you need for a great 4K gaming experience and the price is pretty reasonable. Highly recommended, especially when using G-Sync on an Nvidia graphics card!
A few more words about the monitor.It’s a unique experience to play games on such graphics and I would highly recommend it. It has the perfect combination of design and quality. I have tried many monitors in the past such as the AOC 32inch 4K but this monitor has made a big difference in games with unique colors and superb resolution. It helps me a lot in graphic design, especially with details when I edit photos and videos. The monitor has got USB ports, USB C, a display port, and HDMI 2.2!
Today is the second day with this monitor and I’ve spent roughly 5 hours gaming. I have to say that I tested at least 4 games (GTA, CS GO, Warzone, and more) and I’m super impressed with the refresh rate.

Taking this monitor out of the box for the first time, I was struck by how well built it is. The cost of this monitor may seem high, however this is a quality piece of equipment.
The first thing removed from the box was the stand. A sturdier stand I have not had on any monitor previously. This is well made, metal and easily fits together on the monitor. It was all attached and set up ion seconds. The monitor adjustment is simplicity itself as it simply rises and falls on the stand and tilts backwards and forwards for the optimum viewing angle. His monitor exudes quality — the stand is designed so that it is extremely sturdy and can fit well to the back of a desk or table. It looks fantastic!
Connection to a device is through an HDMI cable and this fitted really well. The other sockets were tested and all were secure and provided an excellent signal which is what you would expect from this price point. The one drawback I had with this was the length of the power cable. It is quite short and necessitated a moving around of devices so that this would reach the socket in the wall. A minor point really but a bit of a pain.
Software to control the monitor can be downloaded from the Sony website and this is really easy to use with a selection of control really giving you fingertip access to all of the settings you need. This happens in real time rather than applying the setting then waiting to see what it is like so really useful in being able to view the results without leaving the app. There are presets include which is much better to use as you will want to use different settings for gaming, photo editing , videos etc. One thing to note is that many of the adjustments are not available if the monitor is in Eco mode. Mine arrived with that as default and so necessitated hunting around the menu system to find how to switch off but I got there in the end. This then enabled me to change the saturation and brightness to name two settings. This is also important if you are looking to change refresh rates and other setting so if you are struggling with any setting — check the eco mode first.
With everything switched on I progressed through various web sites noting the colour saturation and adjusting as I went. The picture quality is superb and there is no evidence of flicker or ghosting. The quality of the picture is really superb and I noted that once I had adjusted it from the settings as shipped it was a lot easier on the eyes. Trying this with a number of different programmes and games showed that the screen was very responsive.
I’d recommend using this with headphones as the sound is not brilliant however it is where I would expect it to be with a monitor this size. This can also be adjusted through the software app.
There is a rear light effect which is interesting but not really useful as it isn’t that bright and noticeable — I have something similar in my car which looks ok but you tend not to notice it after a while and I guess this is likely to go the same way.
This monitor has an excellent clear, sharp and bright display and is easy to set up and use straight out of the box. I would recommend working through the presets and setting up the monitor for each of your devices as this is the best way to get the optimum use form your monitor. Whilst this is quite a high price for a gaming monitor, it really does provide you with a richer viewing experience which is customisable to whatever your preferences are.
To start off the assembly was easy but the box contains little instructions of capabilities and what you can actually get out of this monitor.
The stand is good if you have the room as it you are unable to push the monitor back against a wall, I wanted to add it to my dual arm mount but the bracket didn’t fit in the recess on the back of the monitor.
the power brick is huge and the length of cable from the plug to the power adapter is small then the length from adapter to monitor isnt very long either so plugs needed close to the montior.
once installed i used the display port for my pc and the hdmi to ps5 i was amazed at the quality of picture compared to my normal 4k monitor the level of detail of the hdr tone mapping is noticeable from the onset, the shading is immaculate and seeing the difference from running games from my rtx 2060 i can tell the hdr tone mapping adds a difference.
The only light bleed I could see was on black backgrounds when you have white cursors and even then it was minimal and does not alter the performance at all.
The sound, now this is the downside to this monitor but lets face it if you are spending this price tag on a monitor you aren’t spending it for the sound, so volume down and speakers it is from pc or headphones.
I do not own any inline devices so cannot comment on the ease and compatibility of those.
The light bar on the back isn’t worth bothering with as it isn’t bright enough to cast any light.
Overall a great piece of kit but for the price tag a tad expensive for just having hdr tone mapping.
Sony 27in gaming monitor. This is an impressive bit of kit and stylish design. The stand 3 point design looks good but not the most practical. Loads of options for connection. PS5 style look to the whole thing, even has mini joy stick on the back.
Screen quality is good, is it the best on market? I could not say. Ability to have 144hz refresh rate makes it great for gaming. I could not knock it for that.
I think price here is a big question. If it worth 999? To a good gamer I could see it. For average Joe gamer might be a better option.
Modern TV might have high resolution but there refresh tends to be maxing at 120hz. This makes a difference in the heat of the game.
Would I recommend it? Yes. Would be worth trying to get it for best price, of course.
Looks alone fantastic. Cannot wait to put it through its full pace.
A neat monitor with a very narrow frame and a sleek stand, there’s plenty to like here. It’s capable of producing a very good image with detail throughout the tonal range, however it takes a little time to adjust to get the best out of it.
I found a few niggles though. I don’t like the toggle control situated at the back of the screen, I know that these are often used, but I don’t find it natural. The range of controls provided is limited, when it comes to adjusting the picture the majority of adjustments are greyed out, so not available, leaving basically just the brightness control. Other than that there are a number of preset options to choose from for picture quality, although the differences between them are small, and I would say amount to two options, a warm or a cool image.
Fortunately the computer provides greater control over the picture, allowing for contrast, gamma and other adjustments. With these one can achieve a really good picture, although no matter what I try I cannot get rid of the purple tint. This tint is made more obvious as the other monitors attached to the computer have a slight cream tint. Of the monitors I’m using, this Sony is by far the most costly, and while a quick glance at the images on each might suggest this is unjustified, after comparing them for a period of time the quality shows through. This is evident in how well it copes with a wide range of images, from heigh to low contrast, and vivid to subtle colour. Along side the Sony the other monitors invariably struggle when it comes to extremes.
On the question is sound quality, well that’s better overlooked, assuming that if you’re a gamer you’re most likely using headphones or your own external sound system. If you’re not, you no doubt soon will be!
Accompanying documentation is minimal, and offer little guidance.
While it comes with a perfectly good, adjustable stand, it also provides for VESA mounting (100mm).
This does give an excellent picture but I think I’ve been spoiled by OLED displays. The local dimming on this helps increase contrast but it can be quite noticeable at times and it still doesn’t compete with the contrast an OLED screen can display. The default settings out of the box had it in a game picture mode, no doubt because it gives a very bright, impressive looking picture. However I quickly started to notice the local dimming areas dimming and brightening, especially around high contrast things like my mouse pointer against a dark background.
Tweaking a few settings to give a more balanced overall picture has resulted in a much better image overall, in my opinion.
It comes with both DisplayPort 1.4 and HDMI 2.1 connections. The latter is still quite rare to find on a PC monitor. Although HDMI 2.1 supports variable refresh rates, that’s a recent development and your graphics card must also support it for that to work. DisplayPort will generally be the better way to go for connecting a PC to this monitor so that’s what I did, using a VESA certified DisplayPort 1.4 cable that explicitly stated it supports 4K at 144Hz.
I’m using it with a gaming PC with an Nvidia RTX 3070 GPU. To begin with I couldn’t get it to run at 144Hz, it was stuck at 60Hz. I installed and updated all the drivers I could think of but nothing made any difference. It was only after some digging and Googling that I discovered it comes set to Eco mode by default, which caps the refresh rate at 60Hz. Turn that off and you get access to the full range of refresh rates.
With the refresh rate sorted I also turned on HDR and ran a few games. I chose a couple that support HDR to see the full effect. It’s certainly a very impressive picture and for gaming it works superbly well. Although I don’t tend to play games where it’s super critical, there’s very little latency so even the most hardcore FPS gamer should be happy.
For normal Windows use including photo and video editing the jury’s still out and I probably need to do some more playing with the settings, probably turning off HDR and local dimming. I’d rather have a realistic looking image than one that’s overly processed, even if that means it’s slightly less impressive looking. I do like the way it looks though and there’s plenty of screen real estate to work with.
The monitor it replaced was a 29 inch ultra wide and I was worried this would seem small in comparison. It doesn’t. It’s narrower left to right but taller because of the aspect ratio and it feels like a similar amount of space overall. I might even end up keeping both so I have double the space to work with… or more likely play games on one and (pretend to) work on the other 🙂
The stand is unusual and reminds me of a turret from the game Portal! It’s obviously mean to match the PS5’s look. It’s OK but I’ve seen better.
At first I was quite excited to see it has built in RGB lighting on the back but it’s so dim that it’s pointless. Mine is in a corner and I can’t see the effect of the light on the wall at all, even in a dark room. I suppose it would be OK if yours can be seen from the back, but I doubt that will be the case for most of us. If only it was a bit brighter it would have been great.
Overall it’s an impressive monitor if you’re prepared to do a bit of tweaking to the settings. It does seem quite expensive though.
The quality of this monitor cannot be overstated, I have never personally used a 4k Monitor as I didn’t think it was worth the cost but honestly if you have the money I would definitely recommend it. The stark difference in colour, depth, and refresh rate makes the visuals amazing. The built in speakers are good quality for an integrated piece of hardware however I would still always recommend using your own sound system instead. Its tripod base makes it very stable and with clearly labeled ports along the back, it is easily the most user friendly screen I’ve had. Overall a very good product.
My sons needed a new monitor as they both like to play games and presently they are using the TV as the monitor, so the resolution and clarity is not great, when they plugged in this monitor, they were amazed at the clarity and resolution, I guess that is why you need to pay for quality.
However, the stand, whilst it is very futuristic looking, is not great, in fact, it is awful, you connect the big piece and then there is this useless tripod, which you screw in, once you put the whole thing on the tripod it wobbles and does not feel secure, you also can’t swivel the stand, it is only tilt, which is limited and up and down, I am sure Sony could have manufactured a better stand this one.
Also, you get absolutely no cables in the box, for the price you are paying they should have included some HDM1 cables, but there are none, fortunately, we have several but I was expecting some, also, the volume, it has two built-in speakers, but they are not very loud. So whilst the monitor is brilliant and does what it says, there are problems, the price is astronomical, the stand is mediocre, lack of cables and not brilliant sound, so I could give this three stars, but I have given it four stars, as it has so many other features and also Sony is a well known and established company, so this will last for a long time. So I have given this four stars overall, if you have the money it may be worthwhile looking around for a cheaper monitor, but you will need to pay more for the Sony logo and quality.
