I ordered this wireless network adapter for a better WiFi connection and speed.I like this product because is small and easy to install through usb cable provided in the box. This is perfect in case you have an older pc or laptop with a weak network hardware.

Useful for a longer distance and better WiFi speed

This time last year I bought a house, and with it a Gaming PC 🙂 I have wanted one for a long time and decided there was no better time than when I had room to place it. The built-in Wifi Adapter has been OK, but I have generally found the Internet connection MUCH slower than it should be. I am with BT and have their “Whole Home” setup, and the coverage is generally very good, but my PC was poor.

I plugged in this funky little Tenda Dongle and it quickly installed itself, I could see the SAME networks available, but the connection speed is noticeably BETTER. As it connects to the PC with a USB, it’s important to plug it into a USB 3 if you have one (blue connector) but does the job very well indeed!

Our workshop is located at the back of our 80 year old house, so the walls are pretty thick. We had difficulty connecting to our network and printer out there as Wifi coverage was lacking. Installed this, a good little device, was able to connect to 2.4G reliably but was a little hit and miss with 5G – I dont think its the device, just the environment. Still, the laptop works out there now. Speed was about 30Mbps download, advertised speeds are if your router supports it, which ours doesnt. A solid little device – well made. Overall happy as it did the job built in wifi antennas dont do well.

    Tenda AX1800 Wi-Fi 6 Dongle

Ive used alot of Tenda products in the past and while i was pleased with there product i moved away from them. I was given the opportunity to test this product for a review.

This Wi-Fi dongle can be placed in the back of a PC or laptop depending on your scenario and then moved to get the best reception so the dongle doesn’t actually seat in the back like a small form factor USB dongle which you place in the USB port and it stays there.

I was looking for drivers to install this dongle until i realized that the driver are installed on the adapter so it pretty much plug and play so there is less messing about and it should work straight out of the box.
i does say it only works for windows 10 and 11 in which i only use these operating system anyways. so if you have an older operating system this is not want your looking for. Also of note does only work for 64bit operating system my 32 bit which is only a test bench couldn’t recognize the dongle it does state this in the manual however i wanted to test first for feedback.

The performance is good i like the new implementation on the new generation security encryption.
I found the signal to be very good i have another system that doesn’t pick up a wireless signal very well and would drop connections randomly so i use a power line adapter this on the other hand is broadcast a strong signal and so far no connection drop.

Overall while i did feel this was a good adapter at 31.99 its good value while its on offer however at full price its just slightly on the expensive side.
Im not sure on longevity you do get a 3 year warranty this was the reason for me leaving and moving away however ill keep tabs to see if this does indeed stay reliable.

This device works well and allows an older laptop to access 2.4GHz or 5GHz wireless bands, without dropouts.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersInstallation is fairly straight forward. It guides you once you plug it in. Appeared not to be working until after a little googling I figured out I needed to disable the old not working wireless adapter and enable the new one in settings. This should perhaps be mentioned in the instructions. Seems to work well at a very reasonable low price.

It was very easy to setup and I was connected to the WiFi within minutes, also the download speeds were really good.

For 10, dual band, beamforming, mu-mimo, etc.. you can’t complaint. Don’t use it with an usb dock, I had problems when the mine. So I connected it to my tower’s usb ports and now works faultlessly.

This adapter has a much smaller footprint than most other options; it’s a quarter the size of my old adapter, which is only two years old. It is genuinely plug and play, as it has installation software stored on it, so no downloads or CDs are needed to get it up and running.

It wakes up as quickly as my laptop, preventing any delays getting online.

There are a few downsides, though not serious ones:
-The coverage/range is worse than older units I have had, probably due to lack of aerials
-When I did a speed test,it regularly ran slower than the built in wifi and older wifi dongles — the same applied to transfer speeds between devices
-It juts out a bit, so that you have to remove it every time during transit or you risk snapping your USB port; however, this is the case with most other adapters

Using Windows 10 this just seems to plug and play. It was tested on a laptop that had deliberately had its wireless turned off. Seems to be a great little gizmo at first look.

A good WIFI device but I am getting lower speeds on it than with other 5Ghz WIFI devices. Set-up was easy – plugged in, a virtual CD drive appears in Windows explorer from which you run the set-up file, connected it to my 5Ghz network and away you go. On first use I noticed a slight lag on opening a web page which then disappeared upon subsequent connections. Overall a decent WIFI adapter but mileage might vary.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersBottom line first; This works perfectly for me and the smaller footprint compared to my old Edimax is a plus point too. There are no problems with the speed of surfing or streaming.

Simply plug in and a 7Mb (virtual) CD drive appears in Windows Explorer. This contains the set-up file. I simply ran this and in under a minute I was connected to my router. However, do bear in mind that the effectiveness will depend on your environment. To help, this is my set-up:
Installed on Windows 10, Distance to router is about 10 — 12 meters and through 1 door, Router is a BT Hub, but my 5GHz channel has been disabled as it breaks compatibility with a few smart devices I have in the house. I am only using it to surf the Internet and stream a few films on Prime.

I have no complains and no reason to score it less than 5 stars

    Working as advertised
