Use water straight from the tap

For added convenience there is no need to use bottled or filtered water in the Perfect Prep machine. Our filter features a filtration membrane designed to remove bacteria, impurities, and contaminants that can be found in water. Water passes through an anti bacterial filter to ensure it is clean and safe just like boiled water from a kettle. Your filter will last up to 3 months* and the digital screen will let you know when it needs changing.

* Depending on the amount and size of bottles you use.

Anti bacterial filter

From the outside, the Perfect Prep anti bacterial filter may look a lot like other water filters, but it is the internal anti bacterial membrane that makes the difference.

Other standard water filters do not include this anti bacterial system so these will NOT remove bacteria. When tested against other competitor water filters, our filter produced the clearest results. To be sure you are protected from bacteria, it is important you use our anti bacterial filters in your machine.

Easy to clean

The machine features a warning light that prompts you to run a cleaning cycle. We recommend you carry out this cleaning cycle every 4 weeks, whenever you replace your Tommee Tippee water filter or if the machine has been unused for a period of 7 days.

This has been an absolute life saver , thank you , whoever came up with this is a saint, great product and works every time and makes feeding a lot easier by far, I’d highly recommend.

great invention and excellent at making milk its so easy even i can use it you don’t need a college degree to get it to work straight out of the box saves hours over the weekly period and also saves messing with kettles of boiling water the waiting for it to cool down in cold water it does it all for you its really a no brainer costs quite a bit but well worth it in my view

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersAn expensive but game changing bit of kit, worth every penny. No messing around with kettles and cooling bottles down, bottle is made in a couple of minutes.

The instructions are idiot proof and the screen tells you what to do at every step. If you take too long the machine will turn off though, so don’t try to do anything else at the same time!

The day and night thing is a bit of a gimmick though – most people would keep this in the kitchen so it doesn’t really matter if it’s a bit noisy (which it is). The light is nice but not really necessary.

Easy to run a cleaning cycle, all you do is fill it with boiling water and follow the on screen instructions. The machine will tell you when to descale and change the filter. We’ve had the machine for about 8 weeks and haven’t had that message yet.

Some reviews have mentioned babies getting tummy problems, we have not experienced this. The hot shot is definitely hot enough on our machine.

Honestly if you’re on the fence just get it, it’s really worth the money if you’re bottle feeding.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersGet the digital display for ease of use at 3am when you might not be thinking too clearly. Follow the easy to understand instructions and a bottle is minutes away. Great for taking to grandparents. Even the technologically challenged can manage.
Read the booklet carefully when setting up, give yourself plenty of time. It needs cleaning before use (of course) don’t cut corners.

This machine is a life saver, particularly in the middle of the night. It makes a bottle easily and quickly at the right temperature. Just what you need when baby is screaming for food.

I was hesitant to buy this, thinking how difficult is it to boil a kettle to make up a bottle but like most parents who bottle feed will know, at 2am waiting for the bottle to cool when the baby is screaming the house down, 6 minutes feels like a tear inducing lifetime!
So, invested in this after a neighbour recommended it- easy to set up and use, yep- bottle ready in 3 minutes as advertised, my husband can’t even change the nappy by the time the bottle is ready, so no screaming hungry daughter= happy Mummy and Daddy!
As it’s new to us don’t know long term how the machine will last but if you can stretch the budget to get one, do, it saves many a tears waiting for bottles to cool.

It saves too much time, but the basic issue is that it starts with 120ml, then, for 30ml milk wastes a lot of water and formulas. It would be superb if it will be started with 30ml.

  12. Anonymous says:

     United Kingdom 🇬🇧

Life saver and quickly makes formula at right temp. The only issue is the minimum amount it makes is 120ml so had to just cancel the water when I need 60, 70, 90ml. Not an issue but you will need to check the temperature of the formula.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersI would of been so lost by this.. I was planning on breastfeeding but bought this just in case and I’m so grateful I did! My milk didn’t come through for 4 days then my baby got stressed trying to latch on so I decided to just carry on bottoe feeding and the prep machine was a huge lifesaver as it makes the bottles perfect temperature in 2 mins! So wgen baby is screaming saying he’s hungry I give him a dummy to soothe him and make his bottle and it tells you step by step on what to do as well.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersUsed for our baby and works well. As others have said would be good to do a smaller bottle than 4oz when newborn.
Not sure why others seem to think life is almost impossible without it though. All you have to do to replicate having this machine is to have a thermos flask of boiled water (replace morning and night to make sure it’s hot enough) then another container with cooled boiled water. Making a bottle this way is actually quicker than the machine but you have to be a bit more organised to make sure the flask and cooled water is kept topped up.
Someone also mentioned waiting for water to cool to 70 degrees before putting with the formula but this is not necessary. It needs to be at least 70, not at most so can use just boiled. Just be careful not to overdo it so you don’t end up with milk that’s too hot.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersIf you’re formula feeding your baby this is a must have! I originally thought it was a glorified kettle, but when I bought it, it made feeds sooooo much quicker and easier. The temperature of the feeds is perfect for little ones. The speed in which the feeds are made are so quick that you don’t have to faff about with preparing in advance. I couldn’t do without it.

Love the prep machine. Had the older version with my first and bought the digital version for my newborn. Screen light is great for making feeds in the darkened room. Much less noisy than a kettle boiling too. Quick, easy and convenient bottle making!

This has changed how we make bottles, how much time it takes and the stress involved, because of course, pushing a button is easy! Any new parent WILL see the benefits of using this, it isn’t a once a day/night use, we use this for every bottle.
My only gripe is it only comes with one lid (to shake the mixture half way through) 2 would be useful!

Golden Review Award: 5 From Our UsersI was hesitant to buy this as it’s a bit pricey but it is SO worth the money! You can quickly and easily make a bottle of formula at the perfect temperature for baby (having initially been warming up bottles in hot water with a screaming baby wanting the milk, this is a dream). Simply pop in the desired number of scoops of formula powder, press the button, shake, press the button again and it’s ready. The filters last for ages (my baby is a year old and I’ve only had to change it once). The light is great for night feeds, allowing you to see what you’re doing without being too bright to disturb baby and wake yourself up too much! This is definitely a must-buy if you choose to formula feed.

    Quick easy to use.
People were saying it doesn’t heat the milk to 70 with the hot shot I tested mine with a thermo pen and got 79-80 degrees this seems enough to kill bacteria then quick top up with cold to correct temp DONE. No kettles needed.

An absolute must have for parents who wish to formula or combined feed. We originally didn’t bother with a bottle maker but at 3:30am the first day home we ordered one overnight as the novelty of boiling the kettle, waiting around etc worn thin with a crying baby. This machine makes a bottle in 2 minutes or so and it the right temperature straight off the bat. My only complaint is the the smallest serving size is 4oz so with a nrlew born you end up wasting a bit of formula when they only drink a couple ozs at a time but this is something I wish I had ordered before babu arrived!

Absolutely love this. I don’t know how I managed with the first two children before I purchased this.
Would be better if it made less than four ounces at a time but understand it might not be possible with temperatures.
In a perfect world the following would be great
    – no 20 second delay if you have to restart
    – wouldn’t turn off half way through if you have to nip away for a minute (meaning you have to start again)
    – option for warmer temperature for fussy or slow babies
    – back option for if you select wrong feed size

This product is amazing! It is so quick and when we are making a feed on a rush because our baby is screaming at 3am it saves so much time and hassle! Making normal formula is more time consuming and also wastes so much water trying to cool it down before giving it to baby.

The only downside is that the smallest feed to can do is 120ml. Our baby is 4 weeks old and is only drinking 60-90ml at a time and we therefore have the dilemma of making formula normally or using this product but wasting at least 1 or 2 scoops of formula.

I would definitely recommend but frustrating the smallest amount is only 120ml.

We had the OG version of this a number of years ago. A recent arrival gave us need for another. It’s pretty much the same device.

In all this is great for making bottles. Some things to pick at are the viewing angle on the small lcd is not great. It also prompts you for every step which is a bit annoying as if you double press by accident, you have to start again.

Cleaning it is not too bad either. The filter should last a while but keep in mind it will need replacing and the machine will warn about this.

I honestly don’t know how parents survived before a prep machine was invented! This has been really handy in getting feeds prepared. My only critic is that it would be great if the water came out faster. It takes a few minutes to make a bottle, but when you have a screaming baby, it would be great if the flow of water was a bit faster to speed things up.

I bought this to put up in the nursery to use for night feeds. This is an essential bit of kit, expensive but worth it. I turn the sounds off but due to it heating the water it isn’t silent when making the bottle. This has saved me doing countless trips up and down the stairs during night feeds whilst already dealing with a screaming baby. It is very easy to use and remembers the setting so it is just a case of pushing the button for the water to start filling. Due to using it for night feeds I find the light a brilliant addition as I don’t have a lamp in the room and am able to use this to get the formula and bottle ready as well as using it to see around the room without it waking up the baby

Absolutely LOVE the prep machine! We had one 6 years ago when I had my first child and it was a no brainer that we would be buying a new one for our second child who we had in August. Honestly it’s a lifesaver, saves time, quick, easy to use and the milk is ready at the right temperature for your little bubba! It even tells you what to do step by step on the digital screen.
I wouldn’t be without it and always recommend it to mums to be!

Originally bought this one til the hot shot function broke so while waiting on a new one we used the older version which someone loaned us. So much easier to use and less faffing about! This one takes multiple button presses to get it to start whereas the old one required 1. They’ve tried to be smart and over engineer it. If you can I’d buy the older version as it’s so much simpler to use

I honestly find it hard to fault this machine having gone through making bottles before these existed they are fantastic. I do sometimes inadvertently cancel the process while half asleep due to the way the button cycles work (perhaps make the ‘cancel’ button different to the start button, Tommy Tippee??) But other than that, this might be the best and most important 100 you’ll spend on baby stuff if your babybis bottle fed, I’d dare say buy this item alone if money’s tight as it will save you time and hassle!

    This thing really is, amazing.

We had to switch to bottle pretty early on. Feeding upwards of 6 bottles a day, waiting for the kettle to boil (a litre of water for 180ml) is a waste. Even the large bottles of 250ml he is on now is a waste.

This is done in a mere minute or so, and ready to go, no trying desperately to cool it down at 4am.

It really is something that everyone must have. We have another child and I don’t recall how bad it was during the night, maybe she was not as demanding, but I do not know how we got through the first year or so without this device.

Coupled with the nappy bin, these two should be on the top of any new parents list.

This is the best milk prep available. 2 minutes to make a bottle of milk ready to drink. It’s A MUST HAVE for parents with newborns.
I tried the more expensive Baby Brezza machine (240) because it claimed to make the milk in 10 secs! That’s it did, the bottle was prepped in apprx 10 seconds… but it wasn’t never the correct mixture of formula to water, my baby had been drinking watery milk for a few days before I realised what was going on. I then did some tests on the amount of powder dispensed and found that the powder was as low as half of what it should have been! Half! I sent that Baby Brezza machine straight back to the retailer for a refund. I also reported it to the government authority trading standards as it was a danger to the health of babies.
DO NOT BUY THE BABY BREZZA machine.

This Tommee Tippee perfect prep is the BEST machine available, buy it without hesitation, it’s a life saver. It will save your sleep and sanity.

This is such a convenient must-buy for formula feeding. I got this for my newborn as I had to top up my breast fed baby with formula, and whilst the machine only starts at 4oz bottles, I did not mind the slight wastage given the convenience. I can’t imagine at 3am having to boil the kettle and get it to cool down to a drinkable temperature, all while an angry, hungry baby screams the house down. This machine can safely make bottles up in less than 2 mins, at the correct temperature. An initial hot shot into the formula kills any bacteria present, followed by the cold water which comes through a special filter. It is really easy to use and is an absolute must-buy for new parents.

Being first time parents entering a world of the unknown the perfect prep machine has been an amazing help. The worries of boiling and cooling and storing water ready for when little one crys to be able to make a bottle fresh each time quickly was taken away and as soon as little one stirs we could just jump up and press a few buttons and the bottle was done, to to correct temperture with ease. Takes away the fraff! The one thing i would say is, the machine tells you to pop the powder / formula in prior to the hotshot, however i found if you do it that way it sticks to the bottom of the bottle, so I always do the hot shot then add the powder and mix.
Its defiantely been a huge help to us and I wouldnt be without i

I actually sent the first one back as it kept getting the ounces wrong. You select 5oz, it gives you closer to 6. You want 6oz, it’ll give you 7. This is a problem in terms of dilution of formula in the volume. The replacement has the same issue.
That said, it’s easy to just hit the stop button when the volume approaches the ounces marker you want.

I personally wouldn’t be without this. Despite its inability to count, preparing a bottle in a few minutes is a soul saver. Those early screams are quickly settled and it saved arsing on with a boiling kettle and cold water. Never had any issues in terms of being too hot or cold. (Almost) perfect pour.

5.0 out of 5 stars The machine can’t count you’ll still love it.

So easy to use. Not the most quiet process but it it is quick and convenient at night. Milk goes in and then a shot of hot water to sterilise the powder. Shake, then add the cool water for the perfect temperature. Make sure you maintain it and change the filter and regularly descale to ensure hygiene. Just buy food grade white vinegar from the supermarket and away you go. It’s so easy to maintain and worth the daily convenience. If I were to buy another, I think I would save a bit of cash and not bother with day and night?

These are good because you can make a bottle really quickly however in essence all it does is heat the water to the correct temperature, you still have to add the formula and put the bottle together and everything. You often get left with lumps of powder in the bottle afterwards but having said that it is better than boiling the kettle and waiting 30 mins and then adding the formula and then waiting for it to cool down as 45 mins of prep with a hungry screaming baby just isn’t fun! So is it worth getting, yes, is it expensive for what it is? Yes

This is fantastic. It makes it so easy to make a bottle up. It’s like an idiots guide to making a bottle, which is perfect in the middle of the night when you are really tired. It tells you exactly what to do which is perfect. It’s easy to clean and change the filter. Its not too heavy, we take it with us if we go to friends or families house. We use it with tommee tippee bottles. We didnt realise that you needed to buy the special lids, as the normal teat lids leak when shaking. But this has literally changed our lives and I have nothing negative to say at all. It is expensive but definitely worth it.

Golden Review Award: 5 From Our UsersOur older version of the prep machine gave up so we opted for this upgraded model for a replacement (We had it 2nd hand off a friend so it lasted about 18 months in total). Very simple to use & makes babies bottles in no time at all. Our only gripe is that this newer model requires you to press the button 5 times (after each instruction given by the machine e.g. Remove bottle & shake, put bottle back in stand) instead of the older model which requires just 2 button pushes (1 for hot shot 1 for cool water). While not a huge inconvenience it’s just annoying as the machine talks you through every step each time you use it which just isn’t needed, maybe for the first couple of times for new users but that’s more than enough.

Looks sleeker than the older model & takes up marginally less space. If I’m honest I’m not sure the extra is justified & I’d have been just as happy if I’d have replaced with the older model (at lower cost)

Great product. Got this after trying to make up bottles the traditional way. They took ages to cool under the tap resulting in a screaming hungry baby. This makes your bottle in literally two minutes to the perfect temp for baby. Makes a huge difference at night in particular as really reduces the time I am awake.
    A few tips:
I use Mam bottles which fit fine. I did find the powder got stuck in the teat occasionally. Tip is to get the Mam bottle tops (about 3) which fit inside the sealing ring. Gives the bottles a flat top perfect for shaking and you can then add the feat when complete. Perfect!
The machine treated me to a temperature warning the first time and wouldn’t work. Probably because I ran the cleaning cycle twice on the trot so it got too hot. To fix I ran the empty cycle and refilled with the coldest possible tap water. This worked.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersI can’t recommend this enough. I’m a new parent of a 3 month old and I’ve been using this for the full term.
Night time feeds are a doddle with this especially, if you’re struggling with formula mixing.
The machine has its own cleaning schedule you can run, obviously you have to follow this through with boiling water to flush through but this isn’t regular.
It has its own internal filter that you can from any local supermarket that is changed every 2-3 months and is a doddle.
The water we top the machine up with is flushed every morning via the cleaning cycle ensuring no contaminated water.
Again this machine is a doddle, if your stressing trying figure things out as we where causing large domestics, just buy this we haven’t looked back.

Golden Review Award: 17 From Our UsersMy midwife discouraged the use of this pre-machine for feeding my baby as she said some babies developed tummy issues after using. As a result of this, I tried to manually making the formula and stopped using it for a while.

However, it didn’t work well with a hungry screaming baby. Why? I will tell you now. To make sure your water is hot enough to kill the bacteria, but not the nutrition in the formula, the water temperature needs to be approx 70 degree, so you need to boil the water, leave it at room temperature for around 30 mins to cool
It to 70 degree, then use it for making formula, though this is not the temperature suitable for drinking, so you need to mix with cold boiled water again to get the right temperature with a lot of guessing in between. The whole process take at around 40 mins just to make the milk formula. If your baby take the milk at exact time intervals, eg 3 hours apart, then I guess you can time it and make it work with a lot of efforts and sleep deprivation. But if your baby like mine, who has a less regular feeding times, then you would hear him/her screaming as soon as they feel hungry.

I reverted back to using this pre-machine, and feeding is now a lot easier with this gadget, but to prevent the tummy issues my midwife mentioned, I used boiled cold water and also change the filter and give it a deep clean inside and out every month.

This machine is amamzing and I wished I had got it sooner. I use this with Dr Browns bottles. It has saved me so much time and messing around every day and in the night. It is light enough to take up to bed so you don’t have to go downstairs in the middle of the night. No more messing around filtering water for the kettle, doing up bottles in the morning with water or waiting for the kettle to boil. I literally put my powder in little pots for the day then the machine does the rest. You can take this to anyone’s house if the baby is staying away because the machine tells you every little step on the display so it is complete idiot proof. I felt like my day was consumed by bottles and messing around but not no more this is so worth the money and if it’s your first child or you going to have more then you can save it for the next. I would recommend this to anyone.
