Red wasn’t even a listed option lol. Wouldn’t have chose it if it was. But I’m glad they chose it for it me! I’m keeping i
There are very few amplifiers out there that can easily switch between a pair of headphones and speakers (amp vs preamp), so the switch at the front is crucial for my use case. The sound quality is excellent, and the controls are easy to use. The unit is super compact and made of a good combination of plastic front and aluminum shell. Definitely a great amplifier. The unit is silent other than the switching noise when changing between preamp and amp outputs.
The new, revised version has the same model number: L30. Here is an amazon link to the new version:

I am addicted to buying high end gear. Call me an audiophool. lol Anyway, I am picky and it is hard to find electronics that I think accurately reproduce the sound of a concert grand piano, flute, oboe, violin, cello, etc. It is amazing to me how this little amp sounds so clean and detailed and how it can provide such excellent performance from headphones regardless of price
The preamp out feature is a bonus and will give you very clear and dynamic sound from powered speakers and speaker amps.
A great product.
Claridad, transparencia. Segn la marca tiene el mismo chip amplificador que el A90. Lo estoy comparando con un Ifi Zen Dac, y en la salida “single end” el L30 es mejor, pero el Zen gana por la salida balanceada.
Topping has hit it out of the park.
After about five weeks of ownership and nearly nightly listening enjoyment, I can’t think of words to praise the Topping L30 headphone amplifier enough. I own a few pair of headphones, my favorite being the venerable ATH-M50x.
Sound quality? Absolutely superb. I’m not going to bore you with the typical word-salad that audiophile magazines come up with, but I will say this. The sound is very neutral with good power and no discernable noise whatsoever. The best way I can describe it is, as a well-recorded piece of music plays, the sound stage is wide open. Minute details come through – the pedals of a piano.. Fingers on a fretboard of a guitar. SRV switching pickups.. It’s all there. This amp stands OUT of the way and does exactly what any amp should do – Present the sound to you with the best accuracy and least distortion possible.
I have nothing negative to say about the L30. Even the power LED is a nice pleasant tiny white dot. None of this blinding bright blue stuff here!
The volume control has a really nice feel to it and is nice and linear all the way down to the bottom without channel imbalance. The switches are high quality metal and have a really nice satisfying click to them. Rear panel connections are good quality as well.
As a long time music fan who has picky ears, I highly recommend this amp! It outperforms devices costing many times the price!
WOW!!! What a beautiful sounding pre/amp! Paired with Tidal HiFi, Topping D10 DAC, and a pair of B&W P7 headphones makes an extremely surprising and we’ll refined listening experiencing. Performance is WAY above it’s price range, plus the fact the L30 can be used as a dedicated Pre adds another layer of functionality if you want chose between headphones or the traditional stereo rig. 10/10 would buy again!!!
In short, Topping L30 headphone amp presents fabulous details and is, at the same time, very musical. I highly recommend it!
Here are some details:
Source: lossless FLAC from computer USB (Jazz vocal, soundtracks & classical)
DAC: Topping E30
Amp: Topping L30 vs. Schiit Vali 2 (Electro-Harmonix 6922 EHG) vs. Schiit Magni Heresy
Headphone: Grado SR325
All three amps are excellent. If you only have one of them, you will absolutely enjoy whatever it plays. I have to listen very carefully to find these small differences:
* L30 has the best details among the three.
* L30 and Vali 2 has better bass than Magni Hersey.
* L30’s treble is amazingly bright, perfect for violin solo!
* Vali 2 is sometimes more musical. If you like tube sound, you know what I mean. Its sound is warmer and more exciting than the two solid-state amps, which are clean but cold.
* L30 and Magni Heresy often have very close sound.
* Magni Heresy stays pretty cool while L30 can be quite warm after a while. (Vali 2 is way warmer than these solid-state amps)
Subjectively, I think Topping L30 (and its “sibling” E30) has better and more refined finish. It has a comfortably larger volume knob, which is smooth to turn. One nitpicking is the volume mark (the white dot at around 3 o’clock in the picture) on the knob is not clear enough.
Audiosciencereview shows L30’s impeccable performance in science. My subjective experience is on par with their review. Go get one and you will love this little gem!
