Very good picture quality in an all metal body whilst being extremely light. Auto focus is spot on and has a wide aperture not usually found in cheaper lenses. There is a bit of a vignette which could be annoying but very easily fixed in editing software.
As others have more eloquently pointed out, the lens does indeed suffer from vignetting wide open, and the grips on the aperture ring are awkwardly placed, but other than that I have no qualms. At much less than the Fuji equivalent and serving the same purpose – as a small, lightweight travel prime, you really cannot go wrong with this.
If you shoot fuji and want/need an all around lens that fits in your pocket, look no further.
Despite its strong vignetting open wide and flaring, absolutely worth the money.
TTArtisan rapport qualit prix 18/20
This is a great lightweight lens to keep on the camera for travel. It enables the camera to be tucked into a pocket or shoulder bag ready for taking quick photos but easily replaced with a zoom or wide-angle lens when occasion demands. The 27mm focal length (equivalent to approx. 40mm on a full-frame DSLR) is useful for portrait (especially at f/2.8 for gentle bokeh), landscape and particularly street photography. The Titanium finish is particularly attractive, virtually matching the Graphite finish used by Fujifilm on some cameras, eg the X-Pro2 in my photo.
Scharf und gnstig. Halbwegs schnell.
Lovely sharp lens, except the extreme corners. Fast focusing, faster than Fuji 27mm. Some vignetting, easy to fix, gets less as you stop down.
Quite surprised by this lens and unlike others, I don’t find the vignetting a problem – firstly, my Fuji X-E2 fixed much of it automatically for JPGs. The lens is small, light and perfectly acceptable. I love the USB firmware dock built into the rear lens cap – take note Samsung and Sigma! 27mm on a crop sensor delivers approx 40mm equivalent focal length – I would have preferred 35mm but all the same, perfectly usable.
All in all, I’m pleased with the purchase.
I already own an original XF 27mm f 2.8, so this was a bit of an indulgence purchase. I got it because I really wanted an aperture ring and I did not think the price of the XF WR 27mm was worth it.
The lens is pretty well made and is light. The AF is comparable to Fuji’s offering, but quieter. The body is slightly longer, which means that is it not so great for squeezing onto a pocket, but the front element is more protected than Fuji’s. So a win for each model. I think the TTartisans looks better on my bigger X-T bodies bit not on my X-E3. The latest XF from Fuji has weather resistance, but it is likely to be mounted on a non WR body so that advantage is not particularly big. So as far as design and build it is hard to discern which lens is best. It just boils down to personal taste.
As far as IQ goes I cannot tell the difference between the TTartisan offering and Fuji’s, except for when the lens hood is attached where the TTartisans displays significant vignetting. As the lens is already well protected by the body, I would not bother with the hood.
For the money I can see every reason to buy this over Fuji’s own brand model. Highly recommended for a small compact walk about prime.
Good lens, autofocus which is great. There is a difference in quality when compared with the 27mm fuji but for less than half the price, I’d recommend.
So just as it says in the many YouTube reviews. It’s good lense with a few issues… ie the vignetting and focus can vary. However, at the price its great and fits beautifully onto my fuji cameras and is very portable. I find I shoot best with it on my xs10…. ibis helps I suspect, but it does look lovely on my xt30
