Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersI mainly used the trimmer to shave my facial hair and it has worked perfectly for over 3 years. One day after this period it suddenly stopped working and I informed Wahl customer services since the product is supposed to have a 5-year warranty. I’ve been offered a replacement product, which I think is fair so, thank you wahl.

Nice wide blade at the 0.2mm/bare razor. Battery lasts ages.

Only complaint is that it doesn’t give you a warning when the battery is low.

Really liked the trimmer. It trims evenly and easy to shape my beard. Better than my previous remmington.
The blade needs to be oiled regularly otherwise it will catch hairs and trim uneven. Buy the oil with it.

I didn’t like that there are a lot of attachments. It was confusing at first to get the right size but you do get used to it.

Overall 4.5/5 stars. An excellent trimmer.

Definitely the closest shave I’ve had with electric. would recommend. The attachment sizing labels is a little odd so you may shave too short the first time but you won’t make that same mistake twice!!! Great razo

It comes with a little pouch and quite a number of attachments for varying lengths of cut. Basically it cuts really well and feels like a mains powered cutter. It copes well with tough bristle as well as wispy hair. Small and light and nice to hold but with a powerful motor that really does a superb job. Not the most expensive but in my experience a superior cut above the rest.

This is a solid stubble trimmer, it could give a closer shave but considering its waterproof and most trimmers aren’t its worth the money. It’s also pretty good for sensitive skin compared to a much closer shave.

This is a very good shaver overall. I’ve given it 4 stars though, because the blades are very sharp. You have to be careful not to cut your face by pressing too hard or going over an area too many times.

I was hesitant about it because of the mixed reviews. But it’s worth the money. The combs a bit flimsy and cheap material, but the trimmer is brilliant.

This is my 3rd beared trimmer and a first from Wahl. Disappointed with the pouch which was included, looks cheap and tacky – lets the Wahl brand down. That went straight into the bin. There’s no blade protecter and another disappointment. As many reviewers said and I also can confirm the trimmer does catches occasionally, may be because I like my beared short. Overall built quality is good.

I am sixty five years old and have given myself as close a cut I could get for my head and beard from about the age of thirty five. This gives me an amazingly short cut for my head and beard, it looks as though I have used a proper shaver on my head and face. I do not however use any of the attachments that come with the WAHL Aqua Blade Stubble and Beard Trimmer. I use it as it comes with the very small head! However what I do do, is before using the WHAL Aqua to get that really great shave like Finnish. I use my great Phillips 900 hair and face trimmer to remove the long growth on my head and face and also use with the blades extended but with no extensions, to trim my eyebrows. The Phillips 900 is great for plowing through long, thick growth, really, easily and quickly and leaves a very short stubble. Which for a lot of people would be short enough but I love to Finnish off with the wall to get that shave like Finnish. I would highly recommend both these products, which I purchased on Amazon at a really good price. I have not been payed for this review and I do not usually do on line reviews but I really found these two trimmers the best I have ever used in thirty years!!

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI’m really pleased with this trimmer, although I don’t know why I waited so long before buying one. My old beard trimmer (30 bargain bin from Lidl) feels like trying to shave with a blunt spoon by comparison! The Wahl trimmer is so much better in every respect, smaller, lighter, sharp, more efficient – it’s a pleasure to trim my beard with. It’s so good at what it does that make sure you go easy on your first beard trim – I almost had nothing left by the time I’d finished, I got a bit carried away! It comes with a great range of cutting guards – half of them are designed for beard trimming, and the other half are suitable for cutting hair / longer beard hair. I have used it for both beard trimming, and cutting hair. Some people have asked in the questions section whether it can be used for cutting hair or not, with some people saying no it’s just for beard trimming. In the manual it does say you can use it for cutting hair, or tidying up a hair cut in between visits to the barbers. I would concur with this – as I tried it out cutting my son’s hair. Because the trimmer is so small and light, it’s great for detail work around the back and sides where you may want it really short and squaring up the neck line – but it’s not really substantial enough to cut thick/long hair on the top of the head. I have a Wahl mains operated hair trimmer that is far better at cutting through the bulk of the hair on the head, then I switched to this smaller cordless trimmer for blending in the sides/back and shaping round the ears and neckline. If you like keep your hair really short (ie number 5 or lower all over) and cut your hair regularly you could probably get away with using this trimmer alone, however if you like to keep the top a bit longer or cut your hair less frequently you would probably need a more substantial hair trimmer/scissors etc. to do the top. One word about pinching hairs and skin abrasions – if you follow the instructions it doesn’t do this at all. I had no occasions where it pulled a hair or caught my skin. It’s important to keep the cutting blades clean an well lubricated in between uses. Also as directed in the manual, never put the top cutting blade in direct contact with the skin, only the bottom blade – and you will not catch your skin during use. I followed this advice in my usage and didn’t have any issues what so ever. I have yet to drain the battery as it is still going well on it’s first charge (I’ve done 2 beard trims and 1 haircut so far) so I’ll see how much I can get out of it before I drain the battery. All in all, this is a great trimmer and I would not hesitate to recommend it!

Have been using an older set of clippers for a while which then gave up, I replaced them with these after reading some reviews and I’m not disappointed; with no attachment fitted it’s a very close trim, really effective cut; there’s a good selection of attachments (too may really) .. a storage bag is supplied which isn’t great quality, one of the zips broke the first time I opened it. All in all I’m happy with my purchase.

After reading some of the other reviews I wasn’t going to buy it but I’m glad I did. I thought it was a reasonably good quality product, cuts good and give a pretty close shave, not blade smooth but maybe day old stubble but probably as close a trimmer can get. I’ve not had it long enough to comment on battery life but in my mind it was worth getting.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersThis is by far the best electric shaver I’ve owned over the years. The stubble length you’re left with after using this without a guard is the exact length I was looking for; looking elegantly disheveled has never been easier.

Only drawback I’d say, is that this trimmer pinches the face (with guard, or no) almost as much as the set of whal hair trimmers I have. Following all the instructions on angle and direction, I’ve still yet to have a shave without a nick.

If you don’t mind a slightly uneven shave, you can avoid any nicks, but that would kind of defeat the point for me.

Only issue I had was that the battery charger cable and plug was not in the box like it was supposed to be. Amazon weren’t able to correct to my satisfaction on 1st call and email from agent said she’d call next day. Never did call me back. Purchased own from manufacturer out of own pocket in the end. But product great, hubby even let me cut his hair with it. Would recommend.

My beard hasn’t looked this good in 7 years. For the past 7 years I’ve been using my Phillips 5000 series, been meaning to invest in something better for about 6 months as i felt i needed something that cuts closer that i can use to blend my stubble and shape it.

I don’t have a long beard and like to leave short stubble and shape it, i could never get this perfect until now.

To sum it up, this shaver is incredible, i got mine for 50 on the lightning deal and at that price there’s no competition. Id gladly pay up to 90 for this, as its very very good.

My wife always complained that my beard looked untidy even though I trimmed it regularly with the top-rated Panasonic model. I have very fine wiry facial hair and it never looked right.
The Wahl has changed all that. It trims superbly – tidy beard at last
Huge range of guards for clipping and detailing and wothout the guard, it shaves almost as well as a blade.
    Great battery life also

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersLove it, really close shave, not as close as a wet shave but pretty close. Great for detailing hair styles too and general small hair trimming jobs. Smaller than I imagined it would be but for the job it’s meant for its ideal. Nice set of guide combs with it too. NB! I have fine hair and I couldn’t say how it would function shaving really thick course hair.

    Hello everyone
I would like to write a review about this product as a normal user, not professional barber and as a normal user this item i the best I ever had, it is really easy to use, very precise cut, you can make lots of modifications on your beard cose I am doing different shapes 🙂 so my rating is top top.
Only one thing is a bit hard to manage the numbers on the length for trimmer sizes but this will be managed somehow, otherwise I am very happy with this product.
    Definitely will recommend

Golden Review Award: 8 From Our UsersThis is based on one use so far and here is what I have to say….

although it has not had much use I know it is going to be a good purchase. It cuts really close as advertised. It is very quiet. The head is a little bigger than most trimmers so it will pick up more hair with every motion. You know how with the cheap one you tend to go over the area several times to do get an even finish…well once does it with this. I have tried the cheap trimmers and the mid-range ones again.

Trimmers tend to last me around 2 years before I throw them away often due to matter dying out. This comes with a 5 years warranty and a life- time warranty on the blade, i.e. it will last you 5 years. I think it’s worth the money when you think about it that way and you get a good quality trimmer too.

Lately I have noticed many chinese brands get better reviews than the known brands. This is because many of those Chinese brands are effectively buying peoples’ reviews through refunds or freebies. Amazon really have to do something about this. This is creating an unfair bias towards products that are in fact inferior in quality. I have personally been approached by such suppliers on almost every occasion.

I will change the review if this trimmer does not live up to the description I painted above.

This is a fantastic product. It trims stubble almost as close as my Gillette Mach 3 razor and that is saying something. I had an old Remington which I got for about 30 a few years back and it died a death recently and so I took the plunge to get something a bit higher quality. What caught my eye about the Wahl Aqua was it’s claim to cut 0.2mm in length. Well it does that, no question about it. I have also used it on my back and chest hair and it trims the hair beautifully with no skin irritation or cuts. It has a nice ergonomic eel to it when you hold it and it is easy to press into the skin to get the maximum amount of effect when you are cutting. I’ve never had a trimmer which cuts this close and so it is easily worth every single penny !

Golden Review Award: 61 From Our UsersI don’t often write reviews but having read a couple of bad reviews for this product that made me think twice before I purchased, I thought some insight might be valuable.

I have bought so many beard trimmers in the past, the latest being the Phillips One Blade which, at the time, cost more than this. I used this for the second time today and hands down, this is the best beard trimmer I have used. If used well, it can give you a barber quality beard trim, I found the blades sharp and efficient, again far better than I have used previously. It has a wide blade so very good for detailing and under the lip etc. Also very good for tidying lines.

It comes with attachments long enough to cut hair and my fianc did a great job on my hair with this. A lock down essential.

Lastly, I would urge you to have a good read of the instructions, I would imagine keeping the blades oiled is very important (and something that most of us are not used to with beard trimmers) and you must charge it fully before first use. Both things that could make your experience different to mine.

I haven’t commented on battery life as I haven’t used it for a long enough time.

Golden Review Award: 6 From Our UsersDespite the fact that there is no mention in the marketing that this can be used for head hair it gives the best buzz cut ever. I did read somewhere on the Wahl website that it was suitable for “mini haircuts” but can’t actually work out the definition of a “mini haircut” ! I would suggest that Wahl update their marketing strategy for this product as it’s advertised as a beard/body trimmer only.
Ignoring the beard trimmer application as I don’t have one, I wanted a trimmer capable of giving a quick “1 or 0”. This trimmer does it perfectly. There was no pulling or snagging and absolutely no nicks to my scalp despite the fact that I did it myself. I bought this to replace a 30 year old corded model that eventually died. I was absolutely amazed at the charging time. It was fully charged from empty in 45 minutes. Once charged it has loads of power. The one feature that makes this trimmer absolutely perfect for self haircuts is the size and weight. It’s so light when compared to a traditional corded model and has a lovely rubberized grip, additionally the lack of a power cord also makes it more manageable and less restrictive for self use.
The on/off switch also has a safety lock so it’s great for travel.
A brilliant trimmer at a great price!

    Absolutely superb

The package came without a seal (not a plastic layer, not tape, nothing) and thus could have been opened and/or manipulated easily before being handed, so at first I was thinking about returning it. Finally I decided to give it a try and it has been working fine so far (four months).

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersGood quality. Comfortable grip. Just a shame the lowest attachment is 1.5mm. A 1mm and 0.5mm would have been useful for the 5 o’clock shadow stubble look. You can either have 0.2mm with bare blade or have to jump to 1.5mm with the lowest attachment. Nothing inbetween. Be careful if using it without an attachment as the cutters are very sharp. Nicked myself a couple of times.

Golden Review Award: 36 From Our UsersIf your looking to bald your hair without a blade and you have some experience doing this with other electric clippers or beard clippers then I can say this will get your head as clean as humanley possible. The Wahl Balder claims 0.4mm and this one is 0.2mm and I beleive it. I would hvae bought the Wahl balder but really wanted a cordless one and so this was ideal for my needs.

When I first shaved with it felt like how it would feel after a clean blade shave with the typical small amount of growth after 1 day. I dont like that naked skin feel and like a minimal amount of stuble and it is perfect for that!

    Absolutely delighted with it.

Really love this product! Purchased for someone else as a Christmas present. A very close cut, almost enough to not use a razor afterwards. Nice thin blades allows you to go around the ears very easily. Noticed it was lighter than others I have used. Lots of guards to choose from. Only used this once but spent a while using it on the head and beard on one charge. Didn’t seem to be slowing down (don’t know how long the battery would have actually lasted but does the job perfectly if you pop on charge after each use anyway!!)

Overall very impressed. Would definitely reccomended this product!!!

Golden Review Award: 21 From Our UsersI’ve been waiting for Wahl to come out with a truly shower proof set of clippers and here they are! My only suggestion to Wahl is to consider changing their marketing campaign to include cutting head hair! No where does it mention this on any of the advertising campaigns nor the box itself. It just refers to a beard trimmer .. I don’t have a beard and only want them to shave my head to a number 1.

That aside I have to say they are absolutely brilliant! They cut beautifully and the end result is an extremely crisp haircut. It’s so much easier cutting my hair in the shower and this little baby does exactly that! Love the rubberised grip so it’s not going to slip out of my wet hands.

Fast charge is excellent and it comes with a great little bag and various accessories.

    It’s a 100% yes from me!!!

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersThese clippers are powerful sharp and easy to use, ideal for shaving scalp which is the reason I chose them. For those of us balding the 0.2mm shave (no guard) is great. There are a few answered questions on here saying they can cut 0.4mm as well, but I can tell you they do not!, its 0.2mm then straight to one sixteenth inch (1.6mm) with guard, no in between.

Golden Review Award: 17 From Our UsersThis trimmer is one of the more expensive options out there especially if you buy it at RRP, but it’s worth the money.

I required a trimmer that would achieve a result that is as close as possible to a shave but without being a razor, since I’m prone to razor burn and this definitely as close as it gets.

I was previously using a cheaper trimmer, which worked fine, but left a clear stubble, which the Wahl trimmer does not.

It feels good in the hand with premium materials and a good weight to it and its battery life is incredible.

    Definitely worth the extr money!
