Very good and easy to use, a bit bulky but great.
Got this for my friend and he absolutely loved it and said it’s amazing
Much better design than previous models with magnetic charging attachment means water doesn’t get into the connection point and corrode the contacts.
This product is easy to use and certainly removes food as good as flossing my teeth.
I recommend to anyone especially to those who have braces
It’s bit messy to use until you get used to i
As someone with veneers I really struggled with flossing, so after being recommended by my dentist I cannot believe how easy to use it is and the dramatic improvement in my dental hygiene
This is a great device for your dental hygeine. It really works and is easy to use. The water tank only lasts for 45 seconds but as you have to use it over the sink it is easily refillable. Be careful to ensure the end is in your mouth before switching on. The rechargeable unit is connected by magnet which is great.
A really good quality product. Whilst I know flossing is good, I rarely did it. This makes the job so much easier. Only fault is that it runs out of water very quickly. 3 to 4 refills are necessary for a good flush. Also, beware not to use cold water, especially if you have sensitive teeth. Lukewarm is best. That aside, I love it and recommend highly.
The product is easy to use and it’s got good battery life. Only the water pressure isn’t grea
I have enjoyed using this and found it useful However both mine and my husbands have had the tips broken and can no longer use them. Maybe stronger tips?
Easy to use like the 3 power setting can’t believe how much more to cleaned teeth even after using a toothbrush.. it works !
Quite a good product, but a couple of niggles:
On highest speed, (which I prefer), the reservoir only lasts about 20 seconds. It takes a fair few refills to do the job.
Also, the handle is large and a bit cumbersome.
Still, it does the job, and is much more convenient that my old wired waterpik!
I have a large bulkier model that you wouldn’t travel with so this waterpik flosser is ideal. I wish that the bottle filler was bigger to hold more water other than that it’s worth buying
This blasts all kinds of stuff out from between your teeth! It’s a bit undignified but it seems to work well. The charge lasts about a week on the high setting, once a day. The recharging only takes 4 hours, so it’s not as bad as an electric toothbrush!
Overall this flosser is quality made. I was really looking forward to having a good quality water flosser, as with the last another brand named one I bought made it extremely difficult to source periodontal tips which I need for my oral health and in the end it broke from attempts to get ones to fit.
I bought this hoping all issues would be in the past, but the periodontal tips I bought that were linked to suit this flosser via their main website don’t fit properly. Making for a poor cleaning experience.
For the device itself, after full charging with the quite impressive charger I must say, it seems lacking in oomph/pressure. Even my cheaper other brand model would take an eye out where as this feels like it might just hurt a bit. Odd comparison but it’s descriptive.
I’ve been using various flossers over the years, most have been waterpik. I will try and source different tips and come back at a later date with hopefully a more sparkly review, which I’d really like to do.
On a lighter note this thing is coming travelling with me soon and I quite liked the travel bag and the travel stopper that’s provided. Maybe a trip will have us reenergized and up to standard.
Update:
As a last resort, I tried a new tip and the flosser is now workig perfectly with much much higher pressure than ever. It appears that the supplied tip was faulty and I’ve been testing this for over a week since my negative review. I think its important to not just write when something is bad and with the pressure its kicking out now, its better than the Panasonic/Philips devices I’d used previously. Its easy to recommend buying with it performing this way.
This is quite a bulky item so not ideal for travel. The battery life even after following the charging guidelines is erratic at best. Sometimes after charging you’d get good performance but others terrible. Now after six months it’s unusable. My old panasonic was much better and a smaller unit, better for travelling etc. I had a Philips airflosser but I don’t think they’re as good as a water flossing device hence purchasing this unit. Bottom line is that I cannot recommend anyone buying this as its simply unreliable with mostly average performance at best. Either go for a powered device or try a panasonic.
Good results but needs some practice to reduce the issues of using. The water tank is small so for me needs four fills minimum for a full clean. Due to this unit being all in one it must remain upright during use, thus requiring some basic gymnastics to get to some teeth and certainly for the inside of bottom teeth. Due to this, I would only recommend this model type for use in the shower, if this isn’t possible I would go for the fixed base units with a wand which will be much easier to position without the issues of water pick up. I get about 3-4 cleans out of one full charge. There are some unnecessarily poor design features, the filler cap is tiny and very cheaply designed giving me a strong sense it will snap off thus rendering the whole thing useless. The charger is an entirely proprietary hideous sticky out wall wart with a very cheap crispy thin cable that again will not last the life of the unit. If you have a nice-looking bathroom this will stick out like a sore thumb. Would be far better off with a discrete charger, quality soft bendy cable, and charging base.
I bought this product because my dentist recommended it. It was a very costly item but this is much kinder to my teeth than using dental floss. It works very well. It can be quite messy as you do have to hold your head over the sink to allow the water to spash from your mouth as well making my hand wet! Now I’ve got used to it I don’t find it a problem. My dentist advised I used TeePees as well and not just rely on this because plaque can still build up close to the gums. Each person is different so talk to your dentist before you ‘splash out’ for this!
The battery life varies. To begin with I was using this 3 times per day because my mouth felt so fresh and clean, therefore the battery didn’t last more than a week. Now I am using it just twice per day (morning and evening) and the battery is lasting approximately 6-8 days. I charge it as soon as the light starts to flash so not sure how long it lasts after this point.
Overall I would recommend this but the price is a little high.
My dentist is always very complimentary about gum health, so it’s definitely working – have used one of these for years (also tried a Hangsun which was good too but they discontinued the cradle charger) The advantage of this one is that it has a magnetic charger that sticks to the outside of the unit, so no plugging anything in. Battery life is good for at least 2 weeks using it a minimum twice a day. Also good for removing irritating bits that a toothpick or a toothbrush won’t dislodge. Only 4 stars because I would have liked a pulse setting, it’s on the expensive side and the soft fabric travelling pouch is a bit meh.
Never had one before. looked at market and decided on this one, as likely was a market leader. Very pleased with every aspect of it. Bought another for a friend, i was that pleased.
UPDATE:
I did really like it at first…..
Had it only 3-4 MONTHS and now have 2 major problems:
1. The internal white flexi tube, keeps coming of it’s mount, so the flosser doesn’t spray! VERY hard to keep re-inserting it back onto its mount. Frustrating.
2. The flip lid at the back, the flap used as a door to fill the container only stays closed for 30 seconds and now keeps opening and all the water runs out the back! In other words, the flap doesn’t stay closed!
Now rendered useless unless you keep your finger over it! Pointless and very frustrating, also.
Am having to writ/mail the company for HELP. Let’s see what they say…
I purchased a similar item which looked good, worked ok but sadly stopped working within the guarantee, I then purchased a cordless Waterpik and so far has worked perfectly, I use the Pik maybe 4 to 5 times daily and am happy with my purchase, My only criticism is that there is no indicator light showing for when it’s plugged into the mains, consequently there is no adequate way of knowing when it is charged so I use an element of guesswork! I have also purchased a back up which does have an indicator light so maybe the first one was an earlier model. Am happy so would recommend.
Wonderful product. Easy to charge and get an ok amount of use between charges depensing on what power level you use. The water tank is a bit small and I find myself using 2 tanks full on medium, 3 on high power setting BUT it only takes a couple of seconds to refill so isn’t a massive draw back or issue.
The overall result and feel is great though and I can visibly see my teeth are cleaner than before around the gum where it’s sometimes hard to get rid of stains and plaque build up.
Overall I really like this product, especially as I am not a fan of dental picks that feel like they are really scraping at your teeth while you target your gumline. This feels a lot nicer and still helps to do the job.
It can go a full 360 so can reach all areas of your mouth with ease
I also purchased some extra waterpik head attachments like the one for plaque removal and the tongue attachment
Word of warning though: do not purchase the whitening attachmebt or the whitening tabs if you buy the portable waterpik as it doesn’t have the compartment to pop the tabs i
I love this! I had some dental work done by TDC and they recommended I use a water pik. I hadn’t heard of them but did a bit of research and bought this one.
It’s good quality and nicely packaged.
The top end looks like your average electric toothbrush type of thing but the bottom is a larger container for the water.
It comes with multiple heads, although I have stuck to one so far.
I was amazed at the snout of debris this removed even after brushing and using mouthwash all the time. It’s very surprising.
As I now have dental implants which are very tight and you cannot get floss behind, this works perfectly.
It is messy, water goes everywhere so don’t use it dressed up and you will end up changing!
Also make sure the water is warm!
Great gadget and wouldn’t be without it now and have recommended to many friends.
This black WaterPik is very attractive and works extremely well. It has a blue light which is on when in use to indicate which of the 3 speeds has been chosen, plus a 2nd blue light which flashes when charging is needed, which changes to solid blue when charged. This is a great feature compared to the older, simpler model which has no lights on it. A full charge can be done in 2 to 4 hours. Although it only comes with a 2-pin UK plug for charging in a shaver socket, a simple 2-to-3-pin UK adapter can be used so it can be charged in an ordinary 3-pin socket. The same heads fit on this model as on my old model. The lowest setting is fast enough for me, and is faster than the high setting on my old one. The one drawback is the small size of the water reservoir as it needs refilling to some extent during use most of the time, but this isn’t really too much of a nuisance.
After scouring the internet for a few days I finally decided on WP 560UK .It seemed quite expensive for a tooth pik but I needed something better than floss as i was getting food stuck in places I couldn’t reach.I certainly wasn’t disappointed with my purchase .This has 3 speeds/pressure settings ,which in my opinion is a lot better than just having low and high( I suppose that’s obvious really)
It comes with a charger, travel bag and It has a set of 4 tools which consists of 2 Classic Jet Tips for general use, 1 Plaque Seeker Tip for use with dental implants and other dental work, 1 Orthodontic Tip for cleaning around braces which come with it and you can add to them separately. The charger clips on with a strong magnet onto the front of the Waterpik and when charged(which takes 4 hrs which in my opinion is quick) It comes with a 2 pin plug so if you want a 3 pin one you will have to purchase it separately
The reservoir lasts approx 45 seconds. I sometimes refill it 3 times but not everybody will need to do this and it is advisable to use tepid water.
On top of the flosser where you place the tools there is a turn dial so you can get your tool in the right position The buttons are placed in the perfect place for your fingers so you don’t have to fumble trying to stop or alter the speed whilst using.
There is a quick release button so you can easily remove the tools .This is one of my best buys this year and the only downfall for me is that i wish i bought it sooner.
I bought this on recommendation from my hygienist. It stopped working suddenly just before the warranty expired. I contacted their customer service – which was helpful- and got a new one in return, but ended up another piece of plastic to dispose of. Do remember IT HAS TO BE CLEANED with vinegar every month or so if you have hard water, or it will stop working abruptly. Apart from this it works fine, even in the shower. The battery lasts longer than an electric toothbrush, and the lowest speed setting is delicate enough for gums (although the hygienist mentioned the cordless model is not as powerful as the plug-in models). Given lack of space by my bathroom basin, this does the job for me.
If you have a wall socket in the bathroom, definitely take the big one with a reservoir. I used both and this one is only worth it if you can’t have the other one. It’s bulky and I imagine hard to maneuver by smaller hands (I’m 6ft and find it unwieldy).
Worst thing by far is that it gets water from the reservoir via a straw (yes, very high tech) so you can’t turn it upside down, as you’ll draw air – makes cleaning the lingual side of the lower teeth very tricky!
Reservoir volume – small. One may have to refill 3 or 4 times during a clean.
Power – good. You need medium. High is quite powerful.
Battery life – ok – it lasts roughly 12 min of use on medium.
I purchased this water pik after a few weeks of deliberation and comparing a number of alternatives.
I had quite a Iot of dental work done over an 18 month period, having broken off one of my front teeth. It was not until this happened that I realised how bad my previous dentist had been in looking after my teeth. I have gastritis and it was not until he retired and I changed dentists I realised just how badly my teeth had been affected by my gastritis. Hence my decision to see how I could help myself improve my aural health.
Now that most of the work is completed I have a dental routine which appears to be helping keep down the acid and reducing the damage to my teeth. A big part of this is with the assistance of the Water pik.
I use it at least twice a day; firstly to remove the food debris which accumulates between my teeth- in places where I cannot use a tepe brush and again after I have brushed my teeth to remove any acid produced by my toothpaste. Followed then by Curasept mouthwash which again helps to protect against acid. I still use the tepe brushes – I do not see the Waterpik as an alternative, but as additional to my usual routine.
The Water pik has a small brush for use around dental implants and braces, etc. which is extremely useful. The pack comes with 4 attachments, one of which I use as a nose cleaner, again effective for helping with my gastritis.
I also use it any time during the day if I have eaten anything which has stuck between my teeth. Again it cleans the debris extremely efficiently. Some of my teeth are very close together.
Before purchasing I read numerous comments regarding difficulty of use. As with a previous reviewer, my dentist stated that there was no real proof that this works instead of string flossing, but I find string flossing not easy to use and the Waterpik gives me a better result.
I use my Water pik in the shower which reduces the problem of water spray significantly. Other than that, spray is kept to a minimum if used over a sink or basin keeping the mouth very slightly open and not stood upright looking through a mirror. The Water pik has the added advantage of 3 strength levels and I would recommend starting on low and filling with warm water. Not too much of a problem if used correctly.
In my opinion, I have found that the battery life is also very good. Bearing in mind my usage I need to charge it about every 10-14 days.
I initially gave it 4 stars as I have not yet been able to test its use for travel, although I cannot foresee any problem with that in my particular circumstances
Would I recommend it – without a doubt had it not started leaking
However I have found that it is leaking quite badly. Not sure where the leak is coming from but will consider contacting Amazon in view of this. I left it on the window sill and the next morning there was quite a lot of water leakage as you can see. I hadn’t noticed it before as it is usually empty or I empty it when I have finished using it. I usually have to fill it at least once and had noticed it before but thought that I had spilt water when filling it. The alternative, make sure its emptied after every use.
Purchased due to lockdown and cancelled dentist appts. I have always struggled to control plaque and have pockets behind teeth in particular where I can’t clean even with floss & little brushes. This is really good for getting to those difficult places. I don’t find it very powerful & on first use went from low to high power immediately. It’s easy and quick to use. Water chamber hold enough for me to do all teeth quickly. It removed all my plaque and I can feel the gaps with my tongue again! I think it suits me better than the wired one as easy to manoeuvre. Highly recommend esp in these times. Lost one star from me as could do with another power level for me.
This is a recent purchase after my Philips sonicate airfloss, bit the dust. The Philips was a ” one press one shot” kind of pressure, which if I’m honest was quite brutal and left my gums bleeding. In the end I gave up with it. Enter the Waterpik. This is completely different, I have only used this for a couple of weeks and already my gums and teeth are feeling much better in terms of comfort and there’s no repercussions as with the Philips, no soreness or anything but refreshed and really clean. I have little pockets in my teeth that I have to be careful with and this really cleans in there.. there are three speeds / pressures.. Low, medium, high. I currently use medium which is ample.
I have used this for a week on full charge and its just started flashing Thats from using twice a day. There are some little down sides to the system, it is a bit messy ( keep your mouth and lips slightly closed unless you wish to spray the bathroom!!
The unit is easy to clean and wipe down, and the water reservoir takes a couple of fills with each use. But again, I hear people moan about this, but its Cordless aimed at travel and home. If it was just for home there are bigger more permanent units with very large capacity reservoirs? It is what it is.. I’m very impressed with this model, and would highly recommend it, I have tried string floss, and honestly its a faff, and messy it gets caught or you “saw” into your gums..
This is quick and easy and has the desired results. I guess the proof will be the feedback from the dentist !
Until I next see a dentist, I can’t really be objective about efficacy but it seems a pretty good machine (make/model dentist recommended). NB: went for this cordless version on dentist’s suggestion as other types can take up quite a bit of shelf space. However, it would be really great if they could develop cordless version (of roughly this size still) but with flexible hoze as per the corded ones. Reason: it’s quite awkward to get angles in mouth without inverting machine – at which point it cannot suck up water from reservoir. Not a massive issue but would be a great development – and much easier to navigate mouth.
Only other issue: power level button & on/off buttons are too close together – keep going up a gear when I want to turn off!
This is the third flosser I have bought, the first was a cheap one, that was fine until it stopped working, the second was an Oral-B one, that was pretty useless and also bit the dust after about 3 months. The Waterpik has a lot more power than the other 2 I have tried, I use high power, and it can sting your tongue or inside of your mouth if misdirected, so I feel it gives a really good clean. As is common with the cordless models, the size of the water tank is limited, so I use one fill to do the outsides, and another for the insides. The battery life runs to about 5 days, used twice a day (so 20 tankfuls in total), so not great, but comparable to the others I have used. How well the battery will hold up, only time will tell. Recommended.
This works really well although granted not as powerful as a standard model that is powered from the mains. But my bathroom doesn’t have an electrical outlet and I travel often enough to make this the best model for me. I had the standard model in the past and I was concerned that the power would be weak in this model. But I am pleasantly surprised and the water power is strong enough to clean my teeth on high. I think if you are a beginner with these type of devices starting on low would be best and working your way to high is recommended.
Charge: The charge lasts the entire week and I use it daily and occasionally more than once a day. It charges quickly in 4 hours. The lights show when it needs to be charged and when it is complete and ready to go again.
Travel: I packed it in the travel bag which is simply a soft microfiber sack with a string. I wish the bag were better and had a pocket for the implements. Instead you have to remove the attached head so the waterpik fits in the bag. Then there is no place for the head to go. I pack tightly and was concerned that the head would be snapped in my suitcase, so I packed it in with toothbrush and other toiletries.
Grip: It has a molded pebbled grip and that makes holding it when wet really easy.
Waterproof: I use it in the shower everyday.
Reservoir: It is a nice size, and if I need it I can fill it more than once to cover all my needs.
Spinning head: I don’t really use this feature but it does work smoothly.
Buttons: All are soft grip and easy to use and the power is marked with the power symbol and easy to feel with my fingers. The button to remove the head is at the rear near the top and pops the head right off for easy changes.
Maintenance: To get it empty I hold it with the power on at the last few moments tilted in a direction of the end of the take up tube so it empties fully. Then I wipe it with a towel and place it on the shelf.
Water gun capable: I guess it could be used that way but it doesn’t really shoot far or accurately so I’d vote no and just get a really good water gun or balloons instead.
All in all this has been a good purchase and works satisfactorily, travels well and charges quickly.
I usually use interdental brushes and floss, followed by an electric toothbrush. This does remove all the trapped bits of food, but I think you still need to floss or brush occasionally to be sure of keeping plaque down. It is easy to reach the back teeth. I have 2 implants and I am hoping it will help to keep the gums healthy. My dentist suggested using one. I think if you have arthritic fingers and find brushes and floss hard to use, this is a good alternative.I find you need to fill the tank twice on medium pressure to complete the whole mouth, and a bit more if on high pressure. You can’t have a bigger tank as it would be to hard to hold the unit, which is why you would buy the larger shelf unit if you have bathroom space. The high pressure isn’t that hard. Two of us use the unit once a day, and the battery lasts a few days. It is not a hassle to recharge it.
