Am not sure it suits my needs, wanted to connect to modem
However I write, the review won’t post not sure why.
So I will say this. I got this for my grandparents who do a lot of charity works and for their church.
This one was a great gift to them and they’ve been using it without any issue and quite satisfied with it over the last 6 months!
This is a good USB phone. I’m using this handset to join my office meetings in Microsoft teams. It is very easy to connect it to my Lenovo laptop and surprisingly this handset detects Microsoft teams configuration automatically. It has a nice sound quality and is easy to connect mobile also with Bluetooth. It works well to make/receive calls.
Everything about this phone is top quality! It is solid and well-made. The touch screen allows easy control of functions and accessing and changing settings.
What has really blown my away though is the sound quality!! It is so rich and clear. People sound like they are right in the room with me, whether I’m using the speakerphone or the handset. I also set my laptop’s default audio device to the phone and all computer audio comes through it, rather than the crappy little speakers in the laptop. Computer sound will also come through the headset, if I have it selected.
You can also pair you cell phone with it and make and receive calls on it through the phone or DECT headset, so instead of using a Bluetooth headset with limited range, I can go much farther.
I loved this phone so much I decided to buy one of their DECT headsets, instead of using the wired one I have. It too has the same amazing sound quality as this phone and operates in much the same way. So, if you primarily want to use a headset, you could get that instead of this, but if you want the phone features, including integration with their IP phones, this one is great.

This phone was plug and play for me. My work uses teams and I have a soft phone integrated into teams. With this my desk phone is as well. I don’t really use the handset, but the speaker phone works great!
I happen to already have a Yealink UVC30 Web Camera, which is easily the single best web camera I’ve ever seen. I was so impressed with that product that when I saw this phone, I ordered it immediately. Like the camera, this quality of this phone is sublime. I simply plugged in the USB connection to my office computer and supplied power, and it completely set itself up with my services.
I use either the speakerphone or handset for all of my Teams calls, which are perfectly clean on my end and I’m told that I’m exceptionally clear at the other end of my calls. There’s never any feedback or static. At present I do not have a dialer solution attached to Teams, but my office will be adding that service in the near future and when they do this device should make use of that immediately with little or no configuration changes.
The phone is capable of supporting multiple devices, so I used Bluetooth to pair with my iPhone 12 Pro Max. Again, this is a perfect pairing: I can tap a button on the phone’s screen to answer a call or pick up the handset. To place an outbound call, I tap the selection on screen for my mobile phone and then I can dial using the phone’s keypad. The entire process is seamless and straightforward.
The phone does have an option to plug in a wired, traditional telephone headphone, or to connect a wireless headset. I have no need for either of those but could see the advantage in an open office.
I have my Windows 10 installation set to make use of the phone for all communications services, including Zoom, Google, Webex, etc. and it works flawlessly with all of these services. My setup uses a different set of speakers for standard audio.
The Yealink Connect software is free and available for download from the manufacturer and it enables you to download and apply firmware updates and make some configuration changes to the devices. I recommend having it on hand.
All-in-all, this has been one of the most helpful tools I’ve obtained since I started working from home. I could see it as a positive even in an office setting where Teams is the primary communications tool. It would be nice if I could create a one-touch menu of individuals to call through Teams on the phone’s touchpad. That seems like a logical progression. I would definitely order this again and have zero reservations about recommending it to others who are in need of a similar product. This finally makes the home office feel like a true office!
Nice desk phone for people still looking for a desk phone to use with their UC setup.
The light works pretty good but I have noticed a few different things. The first one would be that for at home use the led light only has enough wire to put the light on the wall right over the desk where the phone is located. Simply put the cord is only 4-6 foot. Second is that for some of the functions the led works great. But I have noticed that unless it is the main apps that are on the phone but other than that the led does not light up if on phone.
I am very well pleased with this Yealink MP50 USB Phone Handset. I was able to use and test it on both a Mac and PC and found that the install with pretty much instant and plug and play. It is really nice to have a quality computer based phone and get away from the headset. This phone is very well made and feels and looks very pro-grade. There is nothing cheap or cheap feeling about it. The menu system is super easy to use and everything works just great.
100% happy with it and I highly recommend it.
* The display panel looks nice:
– it’s configurable for light or dark background
– it has a screen saver option
– screen has auto Off option
* The speaker and mic are both clear. The mic works well during all calls and is a great break from a headset with mic during long calls.
* No software is required but is available to upgrade the firmware. Desktop icon isn’t needed: my computer / laptop connected without issue using the included USB cable and Bluetooth.

Only has a red light…have looked everywhere to see how to get green with no luck!
