I ordered this after realizing that an old scrapped HP Bestec 300w PSU i had lying around from an old prebuilt could be used in a Cooler Master Q300L build. This build is with an i5-7400 with Thermalright Assassin Cooler, 8GB RAM, RX550 4GB, on a B150M-C board with 1tb NVME card. I had run out of 12V rail length as it would not reach the 12V rail because the PSU was not located on top of the build. This did the trick, was a good value, and I have other builds which are better but had all these extra parts lying around to complete this build for a cheap price. I am fortunate to have found this which did the job and cable management still is good, and that this was available in a one pack. Very budget friendly. 5/5. Would recommend.
On some older machines that use specific power supplies to that case, in mixing and matching some power supplies, I’ve found the 4pin to MB cord will sometimes not reach far enough. Having one or two of these around makes a big difference. I ordered 3 of them, just in case I have the issue again, as well as if there’s a need to extend a set of 8pins to MB. They’re only about 4 inches, but that’s usually enough for brand name cases. Any longer and you should look into just replacing the whole power supply.
I upgraded my case and this part of the CPU power connector no longer reached. This extension works. Just make sure the wires line up – yellow to yellow, black to black.
I used this to extend the cpu 4 pin 12v cpu cable, which was slightly too short in my gpu mining rig. the last cable I used from another manufacturer that I extended got warm to the touch and I was worried about it overheating, but this one stays cool and seems to work perfectly. would buy again.
