All nice to use. The part under matress is very thick and difficult to put under) and alarms you when it should not ( and giving you anxiety because of that). The camera part and sound alarm is nice.
We didn’t end up using the baby sensor pad since the video is just about good enough to see the baby’s chest moving up and down.
In general this is a good baby monitor with some minor niggles one would hope would be fixed in future revisions:
*The camera is so light that a strong breeze knocks it out of place, the button for the camera is very fiddly.
*In two camera mode, the device doesn’t appear to switch audio to the camera with motion/sound detected so you have to pick which child/camera to exclusively listen to all night. Either that or its confusing to enable this feature.
*The charger for the monitor didn’t last 12 months before the cables were exposed and replacements are both expensive and out of stock. Luckily this is a standard connector although the voltage is quite proprietory, 0.6A.
*There is no dock for the monitor like previous models, adding to the stress on the charger cable.
Bought this in Nov 2021 for my first born and still using it at 19 months, now bought a second unit for baby no.2.
Picture and sound are very clear. Range is fantastic (works when I cross the road to my neighbours front door).
Loved using the sensor mat when baby was young, use it without now they are in a toddler bed. Great feature that you can switch off the screen unless there is sound (so we have it on all night when we’re in bed and it doesn’t disturb us unless our toddler is upset). Battery on the parent unit is great, 19 months into using it and we leave the parent unit plugged in charging all night and then we’re able to use it for 2 naps day time plus 4 hours+ at night without it being plugged in – never ran out of battery yet. Highly recommend.
I was looking to buy this monitor and movement mat throughout my entire pregnancy as I was recommended it by a friend.
I originally bought the tommee tippee version which was absolutely useless and sent back.
This is absolutely great for the movement mat and was the main reason I wanted it, I did have a different camera which I have to admit was a lot better than the angelcare, it had a lot more features and the picture quality was a lot better, however it was 85 on its own!
I paid 99 for the entire angelcare set, camera, monitor and movement mat so I can’t really complain, I give this four stars as I’m impressed with the movement mat but I do feel the camera let’s this down a little, I definitely would feel a bit ripped off if I’d have paid full price 200.
We’ve had this for over a year now with absolutely no issues whatsoever.
When pregnant I read review after review on various monitors and this seemed to be the best price wise for what I wanted it to be – which was with a sensor mat for peace of mind.
I didn’t require one that was that sensitive that the alarm went off after just a moment as there is no history of SIDS etc I just wanted one “in case”.
We’ve had no false alarms where the alarm has gone off for no reason. Which seemed to be a common occurrence on a lot of reviews on various monitors except this one, and on the occasion we’ve lifted baby out and forgotten to turn the mat off it’s been sounding within 5-10 seconds.
The picture quality could be better for nighttime but ultimately it’s clear enough that I can see all I need and I can’t really fault it except for a slight blurriness.
Sound can be delayed but only by maybe a second and it can be set volume wise to loud enough that dad hears it when absolutely comatose (and when I say a bomb could go off next to him when asleep and it wouldn’t wake him I mean it!)
The microphone option to talk to baby through the monitor is so loud and sounds crackly especially when we’ve picked up and are handling the monitor and because of this is a feature we’ve not really used. I thought it would be a great feature to talk to baby through the monitor once he had moved into his own room if he needed some sshhing and reassurance to go back off to sleep without actually needing me to go in there but it’s actually deafening in a quiet room. So now he’s just that bit older we only use it to tell him we are coming to get him once he’s awake.
Our boy found the lights (about 4 little red lights – the infrared I’m assuming) on the camera fascinating and once able to mobilise was soon standing and touching and pulling it down and so we had to move and secure it elsewhere.
I do think the wall fixing and wire could be better designed – we’ve had to put ours higher up over the cot so as he couldn’t reach up and pull it down and any further it would be too far away to view baby properly. It’s definitely worth purchasing a gooseneck universal holder or the like as an alternative.
There is a zoom function on the camera monitor but it’s overdone – if I wanted to inspect the duvet thread count I’d use it but even when ours is placed quite a way up it’s just zoomed in far too much.
The only actual physical fault of this device is it’s charge port, it is so fiddly and honestly we had a right game plugging it in without feeling like we were jamming it in wrong and breaking it. I can definitely say there is a knack to it, but we cracked it in the end.
The battery life is more than enough for what we need – after being on charge all morning about 6 hours from when he wakes up until naptime it can last easily 5 hours without flashing up the battery is going to die and this hasn’t seemed to lessen any a year down the line. Extremely happy overall, would recommend to any parent that has no basis for fear but just wants something in case. Solid 9/10.
I searched high and low for a baby monitor and eventually settled on this one. I was looking at breathing/movement monitors separately so it made sense to get this set as it comes with both.
Camera quality – it’s good, never had any issues with it on day or night vision
Set up – easy to do
Monitor – the buttons are very confusing, I still have no idea how to get to certain settings on it, luckily I only use it for volume or turning the breathing pad on/off which you get used to but it’s not the most user-friendly initially.
Breathing/movement pad – I was skeptical about this, but it’s amazing. No false alarms and I’ve tested it and it works really well. It beeps when it’s on but you can turn this off and just have the green light flashing to indicate it’s on which was better for me. I’ve settled so much more since using this pad, really good.
Battery – battery life is fine, seen some people moaning about that but I’ve had no issues. I don’t have any spare plugs by my bed so I don’t have the monitor plugged in over night and it’s always lasted all night, I just put it on charge when we get up and then take to bed with me and the battery lasts.
The worst downfall for me is the sound the monitor makes when it’s low battery. I haven’t seen anyone else mention this either – on the odd couple of occasions I have forgotten to charge it when I get up, meaning I’ve charged it for a bit before bed and not for as long as I normally would. On these occasions the battery has drained whilst I’m still asleep, and the low battery beep sound, is very very similar to the initial beep sound if the pad doesn’t detect movement. Therefore, on these occasions both my partner and I have flew out of bed to the baby thinking something was wrong.
A few handy things to know – I’ve seen a few people say the pad doesn’t work in a next-to-me crib – I think this is only relevant if you have the side down and have it attached to your bed. I use mine with the side up and not attached to my bed and it works.
Also, the pad has an alarm built into the camera too which is always plugged in, so even if your monitor does run out of battery, if the pad detects no movement it will still make the alarm sound through the camera.
Overall, a really great set and I’ve been a lot more settled since using it – they just need to change the low battery sound to something completely different to avoid unnecessary panic!!
Had a look at many options and for price the quality is good and clear picture – picks up movement and sound very well.
Would recommend for price if you looking for a decent camera.
Don’t use the base monitor much but works fine too..
When my baby arrived prematurely I worried more, especially during the night. The movement sensor has been a god send allowing me to sleep better knowing the alarm will go off if something isn’t right. I also like that you can set the parent unit to only play sound when it’s over a certain noise level. So when baby is shuffling about going to sleep it doesn’t play the sound, only when they cry. I would recommend this item to anyone wanting a baby monitor with the extra reassurance of a movement sensor.
I bought this for my daughter and son inlaw for the birth of my grandson.
The quality of the viewing is superb. My daughter is very happy with this model and states that it is excellent.
I would fully recommend this model for any parent with newborns or young children. X
This is a fantastic monitor that does a whole host of things very well. We bought this for our second child, who is eight years younger than our first. Back when had our first, video monitors were uncommon and expensive, but we had the older version of this monitor, without video.
We bought this monitor over others for two key reasons; one was the breathing monitor, which not a lot of other vendors offer. The other was our faith in the product, having used a previous iteration.
So far, the monitor works exactly as advertised. Picture quality is great, and having the breathing pad offers real peace of mind. No false alarms so far, which were an issue with the previous iteration that I owned.
I do have two issues; one is the inability to use the breathing pad solo, without the camera, which would be highly desirable while the baby is still sleeping in the room with you. The other is a lack of a time/date on the video monitor, which would be very useful for those quick late night checks.
Overall it’s a great product and well worth the money.
After reading a lot of mixed reviews we decided to go for this monitor after a friend recommended it. I’m so glad we did. The picture is clear both on night vision and during the day. Sensor pad works perfectly, I had worried about this as my son is still in his next to me and I had read many reviews that the sensor doesn’t work with these, however it does work when it is being used as a stand alone cot rather than with the side down which we are now using it as. The parent monitor had a good range and can be used when charging.
Night vision is really good on this and the picture is clear enough to know when our daughter has woken up/has her eyes open form across the room.
The mic/speaker is very good sometimes we can pick up people speaking outside as they walk by the house so any movement or grumbles can be heard.
Battery doesn’t last very long so we do have it plugged in a lot but we have the screen constantly on instead of using the motion detector so that is probably why.
Easy to set up and good quality to it.
The features are excellent to.
However, the battery life on the screen is very bad. Last max a few hours before its dead.
Also, the controls and interface are not intuitive. They could do with an overall to make them more responsive and logical as well as easier to understand.
I would genuinely recommend this baby monitor to anybody. We had the angel care with sensor mat for our last two children but wanted one with the video screen for our last baby. I am so pleased that we stuck with angel care, I did lots of research and was a little bit worried by the reviews as some weren’t as positive as they could be but I genuinely don’t have one complaint. The picture is good, the sound is good, the sensor mat is easy to set up and works well. This brings more reassurance than I could say.
Our Baby is a baby born after loss and as much as we didn’t want this to make us over anxious, we did also need that little bit more reassurance when she isn’t in the room with us and this has definitely brought it, she is 7 months now and has just moved into her own room and it was very easy to set up. It is attached to the wall and then the sensor mat doesn’t have any wires, it just slots under the mattress. It genuinely took minutes to set up, so easy and not had a single problem with it.
I would very much recommend this to all parents, it has the reassurance of seeing that your baby is settled on the screen but also been able to see that they are breathing.
This is so handy! I use it all the time. It looked a little daunting to set up, but when I had a few minutes I sorted it and it just give me that piece of mind. It has an alarm feature and also love the camera so I can have a quick look whenever without distributing my little one!
Even had it on when new born in the next to me crib, just to give myself the extra bit of assurance (first time mum) with the sensor alarm. Definitely worth the money!
Overall this is a great product and will offer any new parents peace of mind, particularly the sensor pad feature. The pad will beep once if there is no movement (no breathing) from your baby after 20 seconds. It will fully alarm after another 10 seconds of no movement.
Th only real issue I can find with this product is the battery life isn’t that great. After the first charge of 8 hours, the battery life lasted a number of days. However, since then it usually last only a day after a full charge.
The zoom and panning feature on the camera is fairly limited. That said the picture quality is generally good and the night vision mode works well.
The mic on the camera is sensitive and allows you to hear any sound your baby makes.
As a complete product, I would recommend it. The camera combined with the mic and sensor pad will give nervous parents peace of mind and allow to get a good nights sleep (depending on your baby!)
Great baby monitor in general. We have issues however every time we change the sheets in the cot as the motion detector gives a false negative and the alarm sounds. This isn’t great when baby wakes up wet at 1am and we’re trying to get her back to sleep, but once it’s been fettled with it works agajn brilliantly. I guess you only need it to be right once to make it worthwhile! This is my only issue with it, everything else about it is brilliant. As to the other reviews who say that it interferes with WIFI signal – this may well be true as we no longer get a signal in out bedroom since having it.
Very useful for obvious reasons. Camera and audio is great. Device is nice and simplistic, no thrills and anyone should be able to use it (manual is very well detailed). Haven’t really used the pressure pad much but the idea is great and works (only tried it a few times, playing around). But as the title says, it is a little expensive for what you get, would still recommend it though, one less worry I guess.
