This wood stove is really easy to set up and light if you have dry kindling, and once it is really hot there’s little smoke. It packs small and is light. It is not “instant on” and because of that I’m not sure I’d rely on it for a camping trip for cooking over a gas stove. The edges are not well finished and it’s easy to cut yourself handling it so I’d suggest knife-proof gloves.
We don’t really have room at the moment for lugging around a proper fire pit, our large one is relegated to the garage for the moment but we wanted something that we could pop up quickly to do the same job but in a smaller space.
This ANTJUMPER Portable Fire Pit helps with that issue, it’s small enough to fold into a small carryable bag that easily fits in the car and can be put up in just minutes at the beach, a campsite or wherever you need it. You can use it as a basic fire pit or to cook with, though obviously for any reason you need it you will also need wood or charcoal. It does make a little bit of a mess afterwards as some bits drop through the bottom holes but mostly it’s fine and easy to clear up once cooled down.
The reason it loses a star is the lack of instructions with it. Yes, it’s fairly easy to work out from the product page or videos but the instructions should have been there from the start.
This portable fire pit is a fantastic piece of kit. It’s very well thought out and very well made.
It can be a bit of a puzzle at first, but once you’ve looked at the Amazon listing photo with the various parts on display, and put it together and taken it apart a few times, it all makes sense.
The design maximises air flow to the fuel, which minimises the amount of smoke. The amount of smoke is also determined by how wet the fuel is and how big each piece of fuel is, so smoke can’t be entirely eliminated by design alone, but it does a great job.
One thing to note is that there are holes in the bottom, so ash will drop out. Something to bear in mind if you are trying to avoid leaving any traces.
It’s great for whipping up a pot of tea when out and about in the woods.
This fire pit is selling for 35.99 at the time of this review, which I think is pretty good, especially considering the quality of the manufacturing.
I tried this out in the garden and it works well. There’s a lack of instructions in the packaging but a quick look at the video on amazon soon sorted that out. Easy to put together and disassemble. It works very well. I got the smallest size (20 x 31cm) which is suitable for camping to boil some water or cook some food.
I have rated it 5 stars in terms of its design and the fact it does what it is designed to do very well. However, in my personal circumstances there isn’t much benefit to this over a gas stove. Sure, you don’t need gas cannisters so don’t have to worry about running out of gas but where I tend to camp is at mainstream locations where access to gas is readily available. I also make sure I have enough in advance before I leave in my car.
I think this would be very good for anybody who is camping off grid, or perhaps having to carry everything instead of being able to pack things in a car. That’s no reason for me to give it any less than 5 stars though, it’s just my personal needs are different.
It’s quite a simple yet effective bit of kit so 5 stars from me.
The ANTJUMPER Portable Fire Pit is a decent option for those looking for a compact and lightweight camping stove. The 20 x 31cm size is perfect for backpacking trips and the foldable design makes it easy to store and transport. The 304 Stainless Steel construction is durable and the carrying bag is a nice touch. However, I was disappointed with the smokeless feature as I still noticed some smoke when using the stove. Additionally, the wood-burning design may not be suitable for all camping situations and there weren’t any instructions to put it together. Overall, it’s an okay option for the price but may not be the best choice for everyone’s needs.
Easy to set up and light when finished fits back into carry case. Very happy with my pi
This product comes in a mesh bag and is quite compact. Once you have set it up, it is quite easy to use and radiates quite a bit off heat , we will be using this when we go camping and in the summer when we’re sitting out in the evenings, I’m quite happy with this produc
Not too difficult to put together but be careful of sharp edges.
Could be very useful for traveling.
Because of the extremely cold weather and ice over the time I should have tested this out – I did not get the chance.
I would use it on a non combustible surface – I have ceramic type fake stone spare roof tiles.
It looks as if it would be a good camping stove.
Care must be taken in packing it away – heat of the metal and any hot ash.
Not sure how good it would be for heating up people sitting around in the garden.
This is such a well thought out little fire pit-stove, it’s amazing how it packs up so small and easy and goes into it’s own little cushioned net bag, it’s so well packed it would literally fit into your rucksack. I wanted to do a video review when in use but the Yorkshire weather has had other ideas. This will be fantastic for my caravan decking on the late summer nights as it would be for camping or even just a day out. It would make a great little barbecue-cooker. It’s very well made but there is a couple of sharp edges so be careful, Overall great value and it’s quite classy when set up, 5 stars from me roll on summer.
Just the right size for a small garden or camping, it lights quite fast my friends are impressed, it made starting a fire easier and smoked less, I can’t wait to use it in this summer again!
There’s one glaring issue with this product and it’s the lack of included instructions – I had to refer to the video and minimal assembly photos on the actual product listing to get it put together but once it was assembled, it was easy to put together and disassemble thereafter.
The quality of this compact fire pit (a slight over exaggeration, it’s more of a portable personal heater!) is good – each part fits together nicely and the design is well thought out. The double wall design and base air intakes definitely do their job well.
I used some kindling I use to start my wood burning stoves to test this product out and even in the super blustery weather we’ve had in the East over the last few days, it caught quickly and I had no issues with maintaining the fire once started. It ended up kicking some real heat out and while I don’t think you could huddle too many people round it, it’s ideal as a personal heater.
The small diameter of the burner makes it easy to rest a trivet on top of and this will be an ideal little bit of kit to have around in the summer months when I spend a lot of time outside, especially as it’s about as compact as my camping stove but doesn’t rely on gas for operation so any dry kindling you find out and about should nicely 🙂
Add some instructions and I think this would be a great addition to a kit bag for out and about.
A bit fiddly to put together, it sort of stores away inside one another but once it is built it is quite effective. This thing is small though so it’s not really a fire pit, but more of a small heater. Ideal for camping or having out on chilly nights. It is safe to use but will get hold of being stainless steel and will take a while to cool. Being compact you should be able to take it anywhere for portability.
This is just perfect for my garden. So easy to assemble, well made.
Good wind protection.
Also it is portable and compact. Comes in a very handy case.
As for the price, a bit pricey for a small thing, but it does the job.
