It’s a budget monitor so expect budget performance. Absolutely fine for doing work on and I’ve given it a whirl on a couple of games (Minecraft, etc). It’s for my 11 year old daughter so it doesn’t need to be amazing.
The two HDMI ports are a godsend, and a very hard combination to find on a monitor these days. She needed these for the PC and Switch to connect. Also having speakers is great, though (as with pretty much every monitor speaker) the sound isn’t wonderful. Adequate for her needs, and we can get separate speakers /headphones at some point in the future if needed.
Two quibbles: the monitor comes with a power lead, HDMI lead _and_ VGA lead which is nice, but the power lead is too short. Unless your monitor is on an average heigh desk directly above a plug socked mounted at the usual height, you’ll be struggling. I had to replace it with another one about a foot longer. It’s a standard kettle lead so no huge expense, just a shame.
Secondly, when switching between inputs it takes ages to hop from HDMI to HDMI. It would be nice if there was an “OK” button to say “yes, I’ve selected HDMI 2 – now go right there now, please”
As someone who spends a significant amount of time working and gaming on the computer, investing in a high-quality monitor is essential. The AOC M2470SWH – 24 Inch FHD Monitor has proven to be an excellent choice, offering a fantastic viewing experience and impressive performance.

The 24-inch size strikes a perfect balance between screen real estate and desktop space. It’s spacious enough to multitask comfortably without overwhelming my desk setup. The slim bezels add a modern touch to the monitor’s aesthetics and create a seamless multi-monitor setup, should you choose to expand your workspace.
**Ergonomic Design:**
The monitor is thoughtfully designed with user comfort in mind. The adjustable tilt feature allows me to find the most comfortable viewing angle, reducing strain on my neck and eyes during extended usage. Additionally, the screen’s anti-glare coating minimizes reflections, ensuring clear visibility even in well-lit environments.
**Connectivity Options:**
The AOC M2470SWH offers a wide range of connectivity options, making it versatile and compatible with various devices. It includes HDMI, VGA, and DisplayPort inputs, allowing me to connect my computer, gaming console, and other peripherals without any hassle.

For gamers, the 5ms response time and 60Hz refresh rate are more than adequate for a smooth gaming experience. I’ve noticed minimal motion blur during fast-paced games, and the monitor’s performance has been impressive across different genres.
**Energy Efficiency:**
Energy efficiency is becoming increasingly important, and I’m glad to see that this AOC monitor is eco-friendly. It meets Energy Star and EPEAT certifications, consuming minimal power during operation, which aligns with my efforts to reduce my carbon footprint.
**Value for Money:**
Considering the monitor’s quality, features, and competitive price point, I believe it offers excellent value for money. AOC is a reputable brand known for producing reliable and high-performance displays, and this model is no exception.
**Final Verdict:**
In conclusion, the AOC M2470SWH – 24 Inch FHD Monitor is a fantastic addition to any workspace or gaming setup. I highly recommend the AOC M2470SWH to anyone in search of a top-notch 24-inch FHD monitor.
As cheap monitors go this is excellent. I expect it wouldn’t do for gaming as the screen lag is noticeable, but the actual picture quality is very good with no dead pixels.
The speakers are what you’d expect, poor and ok for voices but not for serious music listening, but at least they are there
All in I’m happy with i
Monitor purchased to expand a work from home set up. Works perfectly well for daily use, browsing and as an extended working display. Matches my existing AOC monitor in terms of appearance, so aesthetically pleasing.
Tested for gaming out of curiosity, and even running older applications, I was subjected to quite a lot of screen tearing which I wasn’t able to remedy. Quickly switched back to my previous monitor.
Purchased this for my wife as she needed a second screen – got a great deal from the Amazon Warehouse. For the price couldn’t fault it, its a solid office monitor with good connectivity. I wouldnt use it for gaming personally but it would be fine for non-fps sensitive games (I.e. nothing too fast paced).
Couldn’t fault it for the price.
I was fortunate enough to buy this monitor when it was on offer at a reduced price. For general use it is excellent. I had to give a rating for gaming but in truth that remains untested. The software utilities with the monitor appear to be 32-bit so aren’t much use with a 64-bit system although the driver works. The fact is that any adjustments to the picture quality can be easily made using the one button interface at the bottom right hand corner of the screen. Downside – It is a shame that the manufacturer felt the need to save a couple of pence by supplying a power lead that would not reach the floor from the top of my desk!
I have purchased a few of these as the quality is good. However, I would have given 5 stars if the power cable was longer. It is a shame that it is so short, so when fitting it on our desks, we needed an extension cord to be able to plug it in as it was so short. The end of the power cable doesn’t even touch the floor when plugged in so floats in mid air with the extension lead.
My 6+ years old AOC Monitor decided to die on me, and wanted a similar one to replace. Thankfully these were a direct replacement. The only difference is now they have black trim which is better if you plan multi-monitor set-up.
It has taken some time, fiddling with my GXT 1050 Graphic Card settings and those on the monitor, to get the right balance of Contrast/Brightness/Colour settings I want for slightly darker screen and easier on the eye for long term use.
Comes with 230-240V power lead direct to screen, no power adaptors, 2 HDMI ports and a different video D-Sub input. There is also a headphone audio out socket, even though the monitor has speakers, I choose to run my audio through a dedicated external sound system with Sub-Woofer to enhance music. Because I use my system a lot for music of various genres, and prefer external speaker rigs over inbuild speakers.
Relatively low power consumption on running and ultra low on stand-by mode.
Because modern Towers and Gaming units have a huge database built-in this is simply plug and play, no separate driver install is needed to run straight out the box.
Nicely hidden under the right side bottom edge is a series of buttons to bring up the monitors own settings.. Found very quickly that the “OverDrive” option on the monitor cause some RGB bleeding on moving objects within games, so switched that off and no bleeding seen since.
Nice a slim design, so doesn’t take up much space, circular stand isn’t huge but offers a stable base, and of course there are VESA holes for using a bracket if you want to.
Being 24″ I am able to have two separate browsers on the screen at the same time, one to the left, the other to the right.. So I can watch something on while playing a game or doing research on the other.
Overall after being pleased with previous AOC monitor, this new model hasn’t let my expectations down at all.
If you want a basic 24″ monitor, clear picture, easy to use, sleek design, with black surround frame, which helps it disappear when reading the screen. You can’t go wrong with this model…
Would easy do as a gaming monitor for those on a budget, because of clarity of picture.
any 1080p monitor deserves 4 stars, right off the bat. however, there are some issues. the speakers are terrible, with no bass and very bad quality treble (though thats not catastrophic), but also the image starts to get blurry when, for example, turning quickly in a game or moving fast. though these issues don’t bother me too much.
all in all, its a great cheap quality which is fit for headset gaming.
Screen quality is acceptable for the price. Its 60hz so quite respectable and also 1920×1080 resolution. Keep in mind that its not nearly as good screen quality as your usual gaming moniter or everyday monitor. But its good value for money. Happy with my purchase
Edit: It’s power port is a bit dodgy, knock the monitor a little and power cuts out, have to jiggle it around and shove the cable in to get it to work again. But it was 70, not a big deal.
Bought it to use with a Firestick in the kitchen. Great picture for the money, viewing angle is perfect. Good connections, the buttons and menu are decent. Solid construction and well packaged.
My only complaint is the speakers which are pretty naff as expected, so I had a pair of external speakers ready.
I don’t game as the motion causes me to become ill so I’m unable to say if this would be up to the job, but as a general purpose monitor for everyday computing I can’t fault the purchase.
I run a variety of office applications without issue and also the Adobe creative cloud Photography suite, once calibrated the colours match my Iiyama monitor and MacBook screen so I’m happy.
Some have said there is jitteriness on moving images, I have yet to experience this though I have found that viewing photo galleries that utilise auto scrolling, whilst smooth, does cause me to become sick and dizzy.
This isn’t an issue with my other connected and much more expensive monitor so it may well reflect on what this monitors maximum capabilities are, but given I am hypersensitive to this kind of thing ( a form of epilepsy) I’d imagine it wouldn’t be an issue for most users, my wife has zero nausea when using it and can’t understand how when we are viewing together I can become ill whilst she feels nothing.
In summary, don’t let that last paragraph put you off, this is a good all round monitor, my issues are probably one in a million and easily prevented by avoiding horizontal scrolling image galleries
Good overall.poor sound quality so if you buy this play sound through speakers.nice picture and easy to use. Overall good for price so if you are looking for a monitor for work ideal..not sure about gaming as I am not a gamer.
It’s a cheap monitor with HDMI and VGA ports. There’s a single button for power on and menu operations which is very frustrating to use. The stand is also not very secure at all and the instructions actually tell you to tie the monitor to a wall hook for stability.
I’d suggest if you wanted a similar size screen for the same price you should look at the AOC 22B1HS which has a much more stable base and multiple buttons for navigating screen menus. The AOC 22B1HS also comes with HDMI + VGA.
Bought this to improve usability of a Windows 10 tower. By default, W10 doesn’t support 1920*1080, but it wasn’t difficult to find out what kind of graphics chip was in my computer and to download a suitable driver. The result is a clear and readable screen, taking up less space than my old monitor.
Cables are easy to control, out of sight behind this good-looking monitor.
The sound seems very weak, and needs to be turned up high on both computer and monitor, which probably accounts for some distortion. The problem might be in my sound hardware, but it sounds OK through phones. This won’t be a problem unless you want to watch TV or YouTube videos.
The only issues I have with this is because there is only one button on it, it is hard to configure things like screen brightness or contrast so you have to go from 100% to 1% until you can get exactly so you can’t go back on a slider. The other thing is if you aren’t looking at it straight it won’t look right.
This might be just my unit but the in box stand is quite wobbly and it almost feels like it will break when you go to tilt it.
Other than that great value at on 64 when i got it and makes a good addition to my setup
Setting up the monitor physically, attaching the stand etc were easy, it all clicks together, no tools needed. Height is not adjustable, but it works OK for me with my varifocals, always a bit tricky with monitor height and distance. My initial disappointment was picture quality. I swapped it for my old monitor with RGB cable and the picture was bad, fuzzy and too light. I changed the RGB for HDMI and then it was clearer and sharper, so I would recommend to bin the RGB at the native 1920 x 1080 resolution, and only use HDMI. However, then I had a lot of problems with picture brightness. Even on the brightness 0 setting from the manual control, it was too glary, blacks washed out greys, whites hurting the eyes, and I was beginning to think I would have to return it. I spent a couple of hours fiddling with the awful manual control buttons trying to get a decent brightness/contrast level. Then I installed the drivers and read the manual, always a good idea, and installed the control software, called i-Menu. From this I found a setting called Picture Boost, subsetting Bright Frame. In this, setting brightness to 20%, Frame size 100%, contrast 40% gave a good result, nice black blacks, comfortable white, good contrast on Windows icons. Not easy to find though, not exactly intuitive! Pity it doesn’t do this out of the box. Now it looks good and works well enough for me, so I am giving it (just) 4 stars as good value for money. Sharpness is OK, not fantastic by today’s standards (I compare with my Dell monitor at work, which is significantly clearer). It is a nice big monitor that works well with dual input – I have one HDMI from my desktop, and use the other to plug in my work laptop and use as an extended screen, which works very well also. So, not sure I would recommend it, but just about good enough and value for money. I don’t use it for gaming, so can’t comment on that.
