arrive super fast – picture quality is superb – easily able to pick out details up close and at a good distance – I can make out number plates and peoples faces at circa 10m away – I installed a card and it records a snapshot event to this and attaches this to my alert – battery still showing as pretty close to full after 24 hours and about 30 alerts – the camera is placed about 6m from a network access point – the lens did have quite a bit of moisture on it early this morning so it was showing cloudy images and consequently it didn’t alert until it cleared (even though I had it set to high sensitivity) – live image rendering takes between 3 -15 seconds (for my set up) – I did try setting it up about 10m away from a network access point with a direct line of sight and it was struggling to connect – just need it to last longer than 3 months and its a winner!
I’m using this in the garage at the moment as security and I’ve been impressed by the performance. It will go outside after I e finished sorting my rodent problem, I’m trying to find where they’re getting in.
The camera is well built and feels solid. The base it comes attached to is easy to fit with screw holes uncovered. The battery life differs depending on the settings, I tried it outside the back door but the movement of the trees would set off the alert all the time and the battery only lasted a couple of days set on full HD but when I moved it into the garage with little movement it has lasted about three weeks so far.
The software app on my ageing iPhone 8plus is easy to use and looks like all the other numerous camera apps I’ve used over the years but this is slick and the functions seem more polished. It’s no different in that from opening the app to getting a live stream it’s about 10-15 seconds while it all loads which again is normal but seems like an age when you get an alert and want to check what’s going on quickly.
The Google home integration was easy adding the account access and a big plus point for this camera is the little delay time on the live stream, I’ve tried dozens of cameras over the years including Arlo and more and this has been the best in terms of delay, there is a 1 second in average delay with this which must be more than twice as fast as I’ve had on Google home.
It’s on offer at the moment but I’d say full price it’s worth a buy and I can easily recommend this, it has excellent night vision and all the normal functions and a few more. You can also stick an SD card in it and record the motion capture and other footage to that to save paying the cloud subscription.
Impressive camera.
Bought with their door bell camera. Wish they did led lights with cameras as well. All in one app then.
This is a pretty decent budget cctv camera. It Comes with its mount, screws/plugs and charging cable. Instructions say to give it a charge first but took maybe an hour before the app said it was 100%, just enough time to get the mount up. The camera simply screws back onto the mount, which can be turned (manually – no app function) to whichever angle you need. You can tighten and loosen, or even change the direction, of the ball joint using a screw on both the camera and an additional one on the mount.
The app was easy to download and connected quickly to the camera. It’s loud though so be prepared for the camera to shout at you and your neighbours during set up! You can turn on/off notifications , snooze them or just ask for it to notify you of the motion detection as you want. There’s an alarm and 2 way speaker as well if you need it and a small light that can be turned on, although not particularly bright.
The picture quality is alright, although I’ve noticed it’s not got as wide a range in the pitch black where we are as the cameras from another brand I have in our house – see image for night range in our garden. It captures movement well and faces would be recognisable from the distance you can see on our camera, but details such as company logos etc possibly not as couldn’t show clearly that I was wearing my ID badge the few times I’ve been past the camera with it on.
Battery life is decent too, it goes down by a few % each day, varies by number of motion detections it picks up and how many times I check it. I’m only just recharging it now though just over a month in. It unwinds from the mount easy enough and I brought it back in.
The only downside to me when I consider the price of the camera is its connectivity. It does need a decent Wi-Fi signal to show you the live feed, but will still notify you of movement even with 1 bar. We got a Wi-Fi booster which did help, but it was almost unusable for the first few days because it needed more Wi-Fi strength. We have the other brand camera in the playroom just behind with no issues, so my assumption is that this does need a stronger signal to operate. If you’re in a low Wi-Fi signal area it’s worth considering this when purchasing.
Not a bad product, works very well, motion sencer works well alongside night vision, built in led which can be turned on and off, and built in light for clearer video, photos, would recommend, easy to install comes with wall sticker to mark out where to drill, comes with screws and wall plugs, easy to place up
This is a good camera for outdoors, the quality looks nice to me and well made is compact and waterproof obviously need it.
Is easy to place just needs a good angle.
I like the idea of the battery because makes the installation process easy and simple with no cables around, but obviously needs to be charged if you are not at home, the battery takes around 7 to 8 hours to fully charge.
You can use a micro SD card and the card is not included.
The camera only supports a 2.4 GHz wifi network which can be annoying for 5G.
They are a voice-changing reply with is a cool idea.
The camera has good features and offers extra security at home.
Simple to set up purchased memoycard for it also for few pounds good price and good quality also would recommend
I set this uo on my shed which is at the side of my house, but has no mains to it. It is a Battery powered IP security camera so this was perfect as reached my WIFI but great for installing in locations where they can be situated away from a mains supply. I discovered that this camera could be positioned outside, either on the walls/roof of the house or onto an outbuilding such as garage or shed which doesn’t have a mains supply.
Came with brackets and screws and my husband said that this unit was easy to install but it is important to note that the camera position cannot be altered by the app — there is no pan and tilt motor on the camera so it must be manually adjusted when fixing up so that it gives the desired viewing angle, which is normal for all battery operated IP cameras.
Battery life says one to two months, mine has been up a month and does not need to be charged yet. will need to be taken down to do but this is easy enough and no strain on my already over the top electric bill.
The free App is great, easy to use and set up, very impressed.
Great value and I would recommend
At first impression, it comes in a small nice branded box, and inside the box, you get an instruction manual, USB charging cable and all the necessary accessories to install the camera. The camera itself is well-made, a bit smaller than my Arl_ Pro _ flood light camera; I am very impressed.
Setting up the camera with the App was straightforward; I like that camera works with my dual band WIFI; I don’t need to turn off the 5GHz frequency; it automatically connects with 2.4GHz.
The quality of the video is excellent; the colour night vision is great too, and the spotlight feature works fantastic when a motion detects.
My only niggle is that if you want to charge the battery, you have to take the camera down from the wall; it doesn’t have a removable battery like in my Ar_o system.
However, I like that I can connect this with a solar panel( not included) that helps the camera charge up all the time; I don’t need to remove the camera to charge the battery. And my garden is South facing so I get sunlight most of the time, so it’s perfect for my needs. If you don’t want to pay for a subscription, you can use SD card(not included).
This is a reasonably good quality camera, ideal for use where you don’t get many activities(like a back garden). There are some downsides; however, this is acceptable for the price you pay.
I hope this review helps you to make a purchasing decision.
What’s in the box
– camera
– USB A to USB C cable
– 4 Screws plus 4 rawl plugs plus hole guide
– Quick start guide
– Window security sticker
This style camera has become more prevalent. This is similar to an Arlo but lighter and neither doesn’t it feel as substantive.
First things first, the CCTV camera is small. Each camera measures c.9.5cm x 6cm x 5.5cm and weighs 260g (without the enclosed battery). Size and weight considering, it does feels like a decent piece of kit but as I mentioned earlier, not quite in the Arlo class. That said, it is in keeping with the compact and elegant nature of this type of CCTV cameras along with them the latest technology.
Initially, I charged the CCTV camera using the charging cable provided. The UBC C port is located at the base of the camera along with the micro sd card, Aosu app from the App Store.
Installing is straight forward. 4 screws hold it in place and the hole guide ensured they are correctly located.
The camera battery is sealed within the unit and clearly this is a wireless camera, ie no power cable and no Ethernet connection (wifi driven, so need to ensure it is within reach of your wifi signal)
Unsurprisingly, camera quality is really clear, irrespective of day or night. This camera comes equipped with 2K capabilities and it detects facial features clearly. It doesn’t seem to have an auto tracking feature though. What it does do is record only once motion is detected, which means it doesn’t drain the battery by being constantly recording !! Motion detection is very good too and two way audio works well enough.
Recording is with an sd card which does not come supplied but available in abundance. The field of vision is excellent – 350 and 90 pan and tilt.
It is capable of setting triggering an audio and strobe light alarm, enough to scare off unwanted, cats foxes and hopefully any other unwelcome ‘guests’.
Overall, you actually get a good camera and capabilities for a very small outlay. It is not comparable in quality to an Arlo, more a Eufy . but irrespective, you are paying a fraction of the price in comparison (currently under 40).
Battery life is estimated at 1-2 months, but that will depend on how many times recording is triggered. I must admit this is rather disappointing. I hope Asou’s estimate is wildly inaccurate.
Finally, there are no monthly fees involved with this set up.
I hope you found this review helpful.
So the description states this is a:-
AOSU 2k Security camera outdoor wireless, battery operated CCTV camera for home security. WiFi camera outdoor with PIR humanoid motion detection & siren. 2 way audio, IP66 waterproof, only 2.4Ghz WiFi.
I’ve managed to attach the camera to the lamp post in front of our garden wall up high enough, so no one can tamper with it and the solar panel behind, it’s in full view of the sun that way.
Where it’s placed we get to cover the whole front garden, drive and house.
I like this solar powered camera, but I’d need it to be faster.
Because if I’m using it to speak to my father in the garden, because of the delay he thinks i’m ignoring him. He goes to talk again and then my voice talks the same time as him, so I have to repeat and end up phoning him instead lol.

I like that it comes with a solar panel to keep battery topped off. After 2 days of use battery is still at 100%. You need to charge the battery from a charger initially, don’t try to use the solar panel for the initial charge, it doesn’t have enough power to fully charge the battery. I want to see when someone is coming into my driveway, approx. 75′ from camera location, had to set motion detection to max. to get it to work reliably. I don’t need the audio feature as I have another camera at the front entrance that I use for that so don’t know how well this works on this camera. Use infra-red for night vision it’s adequate as there is a street light near the end of my driveway. The instructions are a bit confusing. During installation step 5 you are supposed to scan a QR code to connect to your WiFi. It skipped over that step but indicated that the connection was successful. Thought I had done something wrong so I reinstalled the camera. Same results. Anyway, it’s working. Had to play with it a while to get everything up and running. Still having a bit of a problem navigating around the menu as it’s not very intuitive but I’ll get it eventually. Overall a nice camera but takes a bit of patience to figure everything out. Lots of trial and erro
This is a brilliant security camera with many of its features at par with other high-end security cameras. It comes with two-way audio, siren, motion detection, local storage and is waterproof. You can set a zone, which means it will only track that area – A great feature to restrict the motion sensing.
Micro-SD card is not included, so make sure to buy it separately. It supports between 8-256G micro-SD card. This means that you don’t have to pay any monthly fees and can record everything on the micro-SD card; however, there is an option for cloud storage for a subscription fee. The picture quality is also decent at 2K HD.
It is a wireless camera, so there is no hassle of wiring; but at the same time, you can’t replace batteries, rather need to charge camera by USB cable, which means you need to take camera down while doing the same; thus, it becomes unusable at that time. However, you can avoid this by connecting a solar panel (which can be purchase separately).
The App is fairly easy to use and can control various features like spotlight, siren, two-way talking, video recording etc on the camera. You can even share the camera with other family members using the app.
Please do be careful that it only works on 2.4Ghz Wi-Fi channel and not on 5Ghz.
Overall, I will recommend this.
This is second or third camera that I got from Aosu and I can say every expectation is met.
The camera is good build quality and it is not made of cheap material just like many are. The features such as PIR Human motion detection, siren, 2-way audio and others are just making this camera even better.
From my experience, 2K resolution is slightly above 1080p quality and it provides smoother and clearer picture. The camera connection and set-up is easy to do and can be done in under 5 minutes if you had previous experience with similar devices. Even if you do not have experience with them, clear and easy to follow instructions are included.
You will receive a safely packed camera and everything you need to mount it at the desired place.
My mum wanted a camera the door but didn’t want a lot of faff. This is the perfect solution for those who want low amounts of faff.
I left her taking a picture of the QR code in the manual whilst I put a few holes in her wall. By the time I was done she was making the camera talk, saying it was pairing and connecting to Wi-Fi.. within 30 mins we were in business.
The picture is very good. Both my mum and her husband (using the same login) get notifications on their phones and can speak to anyone at the door. There’s also a few built in messages like “please leave the parcel at the door” or “please leave”!!
You’ll need a memory card if you want to record the images, no biggie as there’s loads on Amazon. The battery should last over a month before needing to be recharged. Also, one point is it only becomes active if someone wakes the sensor. I guess that’s how the battery lasts so long.
She’s very happy tho. If they can work it, it’s a good sign!
Small security camera that connects to my iphone using the CloudEdge app which is great as it links in with all my other security cameras. The camera arrives with fixing attachment and screws, plus charging lead. The camera needs to charge for about 12 hours before use but should then last for approx 2/3 months. Then I will connect a power bank to recharge it.
It requires a micro sd card to store the recorded video which is not included in the pack or you can pay to store in the cloud.
It connected to my wifi straight away
A reasonably priced rechargeable camera for added home security
This outdoor battery operated CCTV camera for home security works excellent with no any errors, very easy to use camera and application on phone too.
Really long battery life I have to admit, you will have to fully charge before first use and after the battery life is up to 1 to 2 months of use, it’s depending on the specific camera funstion usage and environmental factors.
It takes about 8 hours to fully charge it.
This camera support 8~256G micro SD card, and also support encrypted secure cloud storage.
The outdoor security camera has voice changing reply, and the voice-changing function provides better protection for females, the elderly, and children.
You will be able to share your cameras with no limited quantity of families. It support 5 persons to view online simultaneously for one camera.
It is waterproof of course and the working temperature of aosu home security camera is -20 to +50.
It only support 2.4GHz WiFi, but it is good enough.
This camera also has motion analysis and smart notification option, and with a smart detection analysis, can identify whether people stay or pass, and send you detailed notifications, which help you better confirm what happened in your home.
It is great value for money security camera for sure, really good quality at all.
I have no hesitation in recommending it to anyone who needs one.
I have tried and have a lot of cameras that are battery powered including the big names like Arlo. But I’ve got to say I’m impressed I wasn’t expecting to much from a sub 50 camera. The setup is easy and the camer gives voice prompts, you just have to make sure you are using a 2.4 ghz network. The app has plenty of features and custom settings for alert zones notifications, night vision etc.
The thing that often lets this type of camera down is unless you subscribe to a cloud plan most features don’t work. But I tested this using local sd card only and the detection was good and so was the lack of false alerts. The other problem with this type of camera can be the wake up time when it sees motion and thus also was less than quite a few I’ve tried.
So to sum up I would recommend it.
Battery powered camera, so easy to set up ,picture quality is great ,great price
This is really easy to set up. There’s a QR code within the instructions which takes you to the app download.
Once downloaded the app talks you through set up well and it’s easy to navigate.
It requires your wi-fi to be 2.5Ghz rather than 5Ghz, ours is dual so it worked fine. It is wireless which provides flexibility but it will need good wi-fi connection.
It’s a good quality unit and looks well made.
The picture quality is very good in daylight and night vision, as is the sound quality.
Tilt and positioning needs to be done manually rather than electronically.
Multiple devices can be set up on the app.
In order to record events you need an SD card (not included). It charges via a USBC cable (included). Time between charges will depend how much it is used.
A very good unit.
This camera was relatively easy to set up and I was soon watching what was happening via android tablet.
There is a charging cable included which is handy.
To record videos it requires a SD card not supplied, which is a shame really, but you can use the cloud storage for a fee.
I like that it’s rechargeable, it gives more scope for use as it doesn’t have to be tethered to a usb plug, however positioning needs careful consideration though due to the fact that it will have to be taken down (unit unscrewed from wall etc) to be recharged, but you also require it not to be easily removed by criminals, which is a bit of a dilemma.
Given us that extra bit of security we needed to rest easily!
This is a really good quality stand alone camera, it is completely wireless and has an internal battery – you will have to bring it in to charge it, or you can get a solar panel as there is a weatherproof seal on the bottom that a usb c cord will fit in.
Set up is probably one of the easiest I’ve experienced, quickly set up the app and just follow the on-screen instructions, it even talks you through where to place the camera.
You will need a micro SD card in order to store the videos.
When you are in the app there are loads of settings, from human/motion detection, to alarm set ups, video length and battery options.
You can also set up privacy zones, so if you happen to capture part of your neighbours property you can block it on the camera and recording so there is no invasion of privacy.
The push alerts are pretty much instant and as you can see the quality of the camera is brilliant – the screen shot is with the camera pointing through a window, it’ll be clearer when it’s properly installed.
I’m really impressed with this considering it is the ‘lite’ camera, the quality is better than my current hardwired system and the intelligent system in the app works perfectly.
Battery powered IP security cameras are good for installing in locations where they can be situated away from a mains supply. Providing the camera can pick up the WiFi signal it can be positioned outside, either on the walls/roof of the house or onto an outbuilding such as garage or shed which doesn’t have a mains supply.
The unit measures 10 x 7 x 5cm and is a compact and inconspicuous design free from antennas. It’s supplied with a ball and socket mounting bracket with all screws supplied. It’s important to note that the camera position cannot be altered by the app — there is no pan and tilt motor on the camera so it must be manually adjusted when fixing up so that it gives the desired viewing angle, which is normal for all battery operated IP cameras.
On the front is the lens, IR LED lights, PIR motion sensor and spotlight. On the bottom, protected by a waterproofing rubber tab, is the charging port (USB C) and micro SD slot (card not included).
A full battery charge gives a quoted 1 — 2 months use, after which it will need to be taken down and recharged (USBC cable supplied). The alternative is to plug a small solar panel into the USBC port for continuous charging. A solar panel is not included with this model but are readily available separately.
The free App Aosu controls the camera once connected to the WiFi (which was easy to do following the App instructions) and will the features include motion detection, two-way intercom talking, stills recording, video recording, spotlight and alarm. The ability to trigger the spotlight and alarm when movement is detected are great security features. The App also has the option to connect further cameras for added security.
I find battery powered IP cameras tend to cost slightly more than mains powered but I like the flexibility of cable free installation and would recommend this model for ease of set-up and use, and good value for a medium priced outdoor IP camera.
I’ve installed the app and tested the camera. Works great and you can get live footage set to your phone, no matter where you are.
I’ll be fitting mine to my new shed, once its built.
I’m actually quite impressed with this wireless CCTV camera. At the time of review, it’s a mere 35 via a voucher on Amazon. For that, you get a 2k UHD camera. The image is quite clear and fluent. As my video shows from within the app, it’s clear in both light and darkness via the night vision.
This is really easy to setup. The instructions are in a booklet, but the app itself is easy to follow. Once reset, you scan the QR code on the camera and it does the rest for you.
On initial connection, there was a firmware update, which completed in 4 minutes.
The app and the camera work well. You can put a memory card in and never have to spend anything else. Alternatively, or in addition, there’s an online service, which you get a free 1 month trial of.
This can be screwed to a wall easily enough and there’s a drill template included to make life easy.
Overall, this is an impressive little camera. You can use permanently wired to usb, plus there’s a rubber seal to allow it to stay dry. This makes it perfect for 24/7recording.
I can certainly recommend this.
I got this camera to go outside of a door so that I could see who comes to the door or when packages are dropped off. For the price, this camera gives good quality video and pictures, and has motion detection. It is easy to setup in the CloudEdge smartphone app. Works well outdoors and I like how the camera uses batteries that can be recharged so I don’t need to run power to the camera. The camera just needs to be in an area with wifi is available.
