This case has been being sold for many years. I can see why. Good construction, ample padding, sturdy zippers and room for charger and even a travel mouse if needed. Fits 13-15″ with ease and if you have a thinner laptop, you can also fit a sleeve on it.

I like that this bag is very durable yet light enough that I don’t feel like I’m carrying a massive bag. I can either shoulder carry or hand carry. Great bag! Love the storage.

I bought this to go with a Logik camera bag. Though the brand’s not identical, the bags are both really good quality and the blacks and reds match. This one’s got nice pockets and zips for tablet, laptop, phones, eReaders, USB’s etc and the padding is plenty for protection. Additionally, inside the bag is plenty more room for whatever you want.

I got this Case Logic computer bag to take on a trip. My old one only held my computer and very little else. This one is perfect for my needs. It holds my laptop securely and it also holds my tablet and phone. It can hold my peripherals and a few other things and it is nicely padded everywhere. There are two top carry handles or I can attach the shoulder strap and that is adjustable. All zippers work fine. I have been using the bag for a six months and it has held up great. No issues at all. I almost got a cheaper bag but went for this one at the last second. It’s worth the few extra bucks for the protection and quality, in my opinion.

Golden Review Award: 6 From Our UsersThese are great laptop bags for an excellent price!

We got these at work over three years ago for our laptops there, and I liked it so much that when I bought a new personal laptop, I bought exactly the same bag for personal use. So I personally know they work great for 15″ MacBook Pros from both 2013 and 2016. (The 2016s are slightly smaller than the 2013s.)

Case Logic is a great, high-quality, reliable brand that I’ve been using for decades. My first cases of theirs were for cassette tapes in the late ’80s! Their quality and reputation are still there.

It surprised me that their laptop bags were some of the most cheaply-priced ones out there because they’re so well designed and made.

I also love this bag because it’s fairly low-profile, but still has enough pockets and enough room for the accessories I need to bring with me — power adapter with extension cord, various USB-C adapters and dongles, a portable bluetooth mouse, an external laptop drive, ear buds, a couple pens, and a few other small miscellaneous things.

And I love that it has both a removable shoulder strap and the briefcase-style handles (which, BTW, are soft and durable, still in excellent shape on the one I’ve been using for three years).

I highly recommend this laptop bag, and Case Logic in general!

Solid bag for my XPS 15 laptop and fits it just fine. The quality seems pretty good (will update in the future if this changes). I usually store the charging cable and mouse in the front zip pocket, but that tends to always tip the bag in that direction. Its not easy to lean the bag on a wall, as it will tip forward due to the weight. If it is just papers in the front pocket it wont tip, so just a FYI (this is my only real negative for this bag – not worth taking any stars off for it). The small pocket on the back is nice, it can fit my mouse there, or other smaller cables that I need to put (not the laptop charger). The front has a few smaller pockets which is nice for things like headphones, usb flash drives, etc. and has a larger pocket for papers and documents. The inside is soft and nicely padded. The extra ‘tablet’ pocket is nice for other things too.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI got it for my Lenovo T550 and it just baaaarely fits it, kind of need to finesse the zippers a bit to get it closed. As others have said, it might not fit all 15.6″ laptops so keep that in mind. Aside from that, it is a very well-made and good bag design. I mainly got it for the larger secondary compartment, which has lots of inner-pockets for all the little stuff you wouldn’t want floating around inside the case with the laptop. I like the wrap-around zipper design on that compartment, makes it much easier to access things than just a top-only style.

I knocked off a star because the shoulder-strap for this is awful. Many people have pointed this out, but the plastic clips that hold the strap to the bag make an obnoxious squeaking and clicking noise when you walk. It is very loud and noticeable. I didn’t want to bother with greasing it with something like WD-40 or another lubricant and risk it getting on my clothes, so I just took a strap from another old bag and that did the job. Caselogic really needs to upgrade the clips to metal or something that doesn’t make noise. If you aren’t going to be using the shoulder strap, I guess it’s a non-issue.

Unfortunately, this bag did not fit my 15.6″ laptop like how I expected. Like in the posted photos in the other reviews, a corner piece of the laptop will be sticking out and it will be difficult to close. The only way I found out how to make It a little but easier was to flip the laptop to the opposite end and cover it one end at a time.
However, it does fit a lot of things in the front pocket. I was able to fit a book, a drawing tablet, the laptop charger, lead pencils, eraser, an external HDD, and my phone charger. It did although, leave it a little bit bulky, but not by much.

UPDATE: After messing around with the bag for a bit I figured out why it wasn’t fitting properly. Shoving it, then wrapping the material with the zipper around the edges should do the trick. Now it only takes seconds to get my laptop in.

I bought this for my Dell Inspiron 15 i5548-1670SLV 15.6-inch HD touchscreen Laptop, so my review will be based on the size of this laptop.

It has two sections to slide items into, one being the laptop and the other being misc items such as a charger, mouse, flash drives, and even a tablet. It’s a wonder laptop carrying case to use.

    Pros:
Has padded strap for over the shoulder carrying, which is great for students.
I use both laptop and nexus 7, so I can put both of them, and their chargers in this one bag and carry it with me. I can also put a wireless mouse, mouse pad, charger, portable hard drive, 4 flash drives, and a hdmi to vga adapter in the top compartment. A lot of stuff I know, but it holds it in, so I use all the space I can when using this case.

    Cons:
It is a tight fit for the 15.6in laptop around the edges of the lid. You can still zip it up completely and use it like you need to, but it’s pretty tight and may even notice a small bulge on the edges.

The case size is perfect for my Thinkpad W530 15.6″ laptop. The front pocket can even accommodate the humongous 170W power adapter that comes with the W530 workstation – but nothing much more fits in there besides that – maybe a USB stick if you push it. One thing I am disappointed with is the tabled pocket where you are supposed to store the iPad. An older full-size iPad barely fits naked in the pocket – if you happen to have a case on it you will struggle to push it in and will have to stretch the pocket. If you have a leather case on the iPad, or any sort of cover which is a bit more substantial, it will not fit. There is no reason why they could not make the pocket a half inch bigger to accept the iPad covers as well. It is not an issue of space, it is an issue of their designers making the opening to the table pocket too small to be of practical use for full size tablets.

Golden Review Award: 6 From Our UsersThis case is everything I expected! I just wanted a case to safely store my laptop and to use when I visit friends and family. I like how slim it is, It holds everything I need in it without making it bulky. I have a 15.6 inch HP and it fits perfectly in the 15.6 inch size case, I would say it would not fit one any bigger than that though and I would say you can fit one folder and notebook in there aswell, but the fit will start to get tight pretty quickly! I’ve had the case for about a month and have not had any problems. The zippers seem very well made and the fabric and the stitching is nice. The padding is thick enough without being to much, but I haven’t put it to the test yet really, I hope I never have too! I don’t own a tablet and I’m not familiar with tablet sizes but I measured the inside of the tablet pocket and it’s about 8 inches wide and a little less than 10 inches tall. the outside pocket is great with lots of little pockets to hold various things, external hard drive, usb flash drives, etc. There is a small zipper pocket on the back that fits a cell phone perfectly or maybe even a pair of sunglasses or anything small that you need to get to quickly. The strap seems good enough, I don’t carry it around a whole lot, so I’m not sure about how comfortable the padded strap is, but there is one, if that helps. Overall I love this case for its simplicity and great use of space, but if you need to carry a lot of extra stuff in there like notebooks or folders for work or school, you might want a bigger one.

Great simple design… my MacBook and IPad fit perfectly inside this and also there’s plenty of space (pockets) for my phone, purse, pens etc. it’s well padded too so will protect my devices, yet a snug fit so not too bulky to carry around. Really pleased, highly recommend!

I was debating between this bag and a slimmer looking bag also made by case logic. I was sort of leaning towards the other on because in the pictures this one looks really thick and bulky, which is something I didn’t want.

I ended up getting this bag anyway, because this one has more pocket space. I usually need to cary a fair bit more than just my computer with me, so I needed something with organizational storage pockets.

What I usually keep in this bag:

My 15″ MacBook Pro Retina, which sits in its Deluxe protective sleeve from Incase in the large pocket of the bag. The laptop and sleeve fit perfectly in the main pocket.

In the main pocket there is a sleeve for an iPad. This is where my iPad Air lives when traveling. It’s worth noting that I keep my iPad in a bulky case (Incase Bookjacket) and it fits in there snugly, but it certainly fits.

In the second largest pocket, the one on the front of the bag, I keep an external SSD drive, a flash drive, a couple pens and highlighters, my Logitech Anywhere MX mouse, A small case with my Klipsch S4i Earbuds in it, and a four port USB hub.

Inside this second largest pocket, there is another pocket. I usually keep a graphed legal pad in there.

On the top of the bag behind the zipper for the main compartment, there is a small pocket that is probably about six inches by six inches. It is lined in a soft fabric. I don’t really use this pocket for much. If it was fifteen years ago this pocket would be perfect for a portable CD Player. I guess you could put your phone in it, or your wallet, but usually that all stays in my pockets. The one thing is that good about this pocket is that it is close to your body if you carry the bag facing out or on the shoulder strap the pocket sits close to your body, and would be hard for a pickpocket or someone with similar intentions to gain access to the pocket.

All in all, this bag is great. Although I’ve only had the bag for a little while, I am confident that it will hold up to all the abuse I can throw at it because I’ve owned lots of other bags from the same company, and they all have withstood the test of time.

This carry case is decently constructed. The zipper is easy to glide, the shoulder strap and the handles are comfortable to use. It’s lightly padded to protect your laptop, but really, it won’t help if you drop it or whack it against a hard surface. The surface can be wiped clean when needed, but if you spill a lot on it, some could manage to seep in and need to be air dried. (Yes, I tested it without my laptop inside.)

This is not your father’s large, heavy, traditional briefcase. There’s adequate space for some papers, pens, etc. Your laptop will fit snugly inside. Remember, though, this is not a roomy briefcase; it’s meant to carry your laptop with few other items.

I’ve taken this on trips and been quite pleased with it. There are less expensive ones on the market, but its construction with light padding made this a desirable briefcase. There are far more expensive ones, too, but unless you and your laptop are constantly traveling and you need a well-padded, rugged case, this one should do.

  24. DianSouthee says:

This case is well made of highly durable material and intelligently designed. The zips look sturdy and have performed flawlessly for me over 4 months. Currently they look as if they will last for years and the tabs upon them, which tend to break on many other makes, show no evidence of wear. The main pocket opens from above, which greatly reduces the risk of accidental exit of the computer from the case if one does not close the zip. Very handy in security checks to keep it open and slide the laptop in and out rapidly. Also as it opens only at the top and is not a clamshell design, it takes less space on the moving carpet of the X-ray machine. As the size of the pocket is slightly larger than the MacBook Pro, removal and replacement of the computer in the bag is extremely easy and fast. The extra pocket has several subsidiary slots within it for flash drives, pens, cables etc. as well as space for a reasonable number of standard size paper documents. Also provided is a separate extra zipped pocket which easily accommodates a cell phone, glasses case etc. The covering is well padded so that a computer will probably survive a drop (I have not tested this) and the handles are excellent. An extra detachable padded shoulder strap is provided for people who prefer to have hands free. I rarely use this, but carry it in my roll-aboard for those occasions when I am carrying extra books, papers etc. In summary, buy it. It is a bargain at the price

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersI’ve only had the bag for a few days, so these are still my first impressions.

Durability: everything is firmly stitched and attached. The zippers pull easily and are of good quality. The attachments for the shoulder strap are plastic and stiff and may be a weak point, but they don’t appear too cheaply made.

Quality: the handles have a rubberized handhold area that prevents seams from cutting into your hand. There are no loose threads or wavy stitching. The exterior is made of thick, sturdy fabric. It’s a soft-sided case, so don’t expect miracles, but it should protect your laptop and tablet from most minor bumps and dings during routine use.

Organization: the main compartment fits my 15.6 inch widescreen laptop perfectly. One of my requirements was not having a divider or strap to hold the laptop in place, and this one holds the laptop snugly enough not to need one. The tablet pocket on the front of the laptop compartment is designed for a 10-inch tablet, but is thin enough that it holds my 7-inch tablet with a slim-line case quite snugly. It may relax out some with use, but if you have a full 10-inch tablet with a bulky case it may be difficult to get the tablet in. The front compartment’s divider sleeves are also quite snug. There is a zippered document pouch on the back wall of the compartment, putting whatever you stow there right in front of the tablet, so stick to the printed word rather than your wood screw collection. The whole front chamber unzips almost completely open, giving you easy access to things at the bottom of the compartment, which is quite nice. The open area is large enough to keep bulkier items like the laptop’s power brick, but if you’re like me and like to travel prepared for bear then you’ll definitely need an additional bag. Considering I got this almost exclusively to store my laptop and charger and carry it to and from meetings, it suits my needs perfectly. If you want more storage then I would definitely go with a bigger case.

So, all in all it is a great compact laptop briefcase. It’s just big enough to hold the essentials and will fit your 15.6-inch widescreen laptop perfectly. It’s durable and not overly expensive. If that’s what you’re looking for in a soft-shell briefcase then this is the one for you.

EDIT: I’ve now owned this case for a few months and stand by my original opinions. It’s nice and sturdy and has weathered my light use of it well. I do have one addition I’ve discovered: the back of the briefcase is firm and flat enough to act as either a mousepad or laptop tray in a pinch. It works well when I don’t have somewhere flat or solid enough to set the laptop or if I want a buffer for my lap. I am supremely pleased with this briefcase, especially considering the price. Whenever it finally wears out I’m going to get another just like it.

Had this for a while now. Very happy with quality and build of the bag. Looks durable and doesn’t get dirty. It’s also very light. I can happily fit in a 15.6 inch laptop, my Surface 2 (RT), wallet and keys with room to spare. Zippers seem durable and don’t get caugth on fabric.

The only part of the bag that looks a bit flimsy is the shoulder strap plastic clippers – where the strap attaches to the bag, though so far it hasn’t shown any signs of snapping off any time soon. Shoulder strap has a comfortable padded patch where it sits on the shoulder.

    Great buy for the money!

When I bought this about 3 months ago, I was originally using it to hold my 15.6″ Dell Inspiron and it fit well but didn’t allow for much space for anything else. I decided to buy a tablet a short time after this as not only was I tired of lugging around a heavy laptop to school but I loved the bag, and wanted to make some use of it. I now use it to carry my Microsoft Surface Rt, over the ear headphones(Phillips Citiscape Metro Shibuya), 2 Chargers (phone & tablet) which is the main pouch. In the second one I have a TI-84 calculator, pens, pencils, chap-stick, Graff&Birkenstein They Say,I Say 3rd ed, and a bunch of papers (in the inner pouch) with no bulge. It all fits really well. A little bulge from the calculator in the front but as you have read, I can carry alot of stuff in this. I really didn’t want to have to carry a backpack and this laptop briefcase but this is doing just fine with me. I’m loving it.

  28. Dana Rousmaniere says:

First, the rating I gave is based on the quality of the bag which is great. I love this bag and the craftsmanship is good. However I won’t ever use this bag. Why? My laptop just doesn’t fit in it. I have an Asus Q550 and it is advertised as a 15.6″ laptop. It fits in Case Logic’s 15.6″ laptop SLEEVE just fine. However in this case the corners of my laptop bulge out of the bag. I can close the zippers but there is no wiggle room and I feel the corners would get damaged since they bulge out and render the padding useless.

I was leery of buying this bag in the first place because of other reviewers claiming it was too small. Unfortunately I’d have to agree with them. For a full size 15.6″ laptop this bag leaves a lot to desire in the way of actually protecting your laptop. If however you have an ultrabook or a laptop on the thinner and smaller side than this bag might work for you.

This is exactly the case I was looking for! I just purchased a Samsung ultrabook to use for school as I am an online student. I needed a good case to carry my new laptop safely around. I had an old one at home that is the sleeve that you just slide the laptop in but it was a bit too small. I did not want a similar one because I wanted one that could hold more than just the laptop (for example, the adapter). On the other hand, I did not want a huge and heavy case that would be bulky and difficult to carry around. I am just a small girl (5ft,skinny, weak) so I wanted something stylish, not too big, and would fit all my stuff. Quite the challenge but I went searching. When I saw this and read the reviews, I thought why not give it a go?! And I was not disappointed! In this case I can safely travel with my laptop and numerous other things. I love the space for pens and since I have a touch screen, this is the perfect place to store my two-in-one stylus pen (stylus on one side, ink pen on the other). I also can keep a notebook inside or my day planner which is rather large. A couple of times I even carried a textbook around in it. Yes, this is a beautiful bag and it is perfect for my needs. It has a place for everything. Including my iPhone, my keys, and whatever other things I can think of. Next week, I will be traveling with it for the first time and I am excited about the little strap that lets you attach it to your suitcase for easy maneuvering around the airport – especially since it will be me and my five year old so I only have one hand for luggage. Also, I love that the strap is detachable. That is wonderful. Overall, I am completely satisfied with this bag. It is exactly what I was hoping to find. If you want a beautiful, elegant and not too bulky case for your laptop, tablets, and other accessories, this is the one. Though I do not have a tablet of my own, I plan to one day and I am glad that my laptop case will be ready to accommodate it. One final thing, the price was also very good. Well worth it.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI’m a freelancer and I have to take my computer everywhere I go. I wanted something that I could pack all my components into, had room for documents and/or a newspaper/magazine, and was above all travel-friendly. I had serious expectations, so I bought the Case Logic DLC-115 along with five (yes FIVE!!) other briefcases/computer bags. The initial draw was the compact size. The other briefcases were so large and bulky, the thought of lugging them around was unappealing. This product is much more nimble than the competitors.

The briefcase is also well-organized. The main compartment is the perfect size for my 15.4″ screen laptop, with an aftermarket battery that extends another inch behind the body of the computer. It also has a tablet sleeve probably designed for an iPad. It’s no problem slipping my Nexus 7 in there. The smaller compartment has three pockets, three pen sleeves, and an internal zippered pocket perfect documents inside a folder, a magazine or two, or a newspaper. I have a slew of cables and accessories I keep in this compartment, but the bigger components are the laptop AC plug and a SimpleTough external hard drive. It fits all necessities comfortably, and I can cram a few extra things for easy access on a plane or train, but then it barely zips up. There is also a single zippered pocket on the back side lined with soft cloth for smartphones and other devices, and works well for boarding passes/passports or what have you. This is placed just above a strap that slides over a handle of wheeled luggage if that’s how you roll.

The briefcase is well padded and has comfortable, sturdy handles. While I wanted something more professional-looking, the black color is unobtrusive, so I could look overlook this aspect. After five months of hard use, the bag still looks new, with the exception of a few loose strands at the corners. What I’m less pleased with is the shoulder strap, which seems somewhat flimsy but I’m sure is sturdier than it looks. The adjustment clip on the strap interferes with the sliding shoulder pad. I don’t use it often, though.

If you don’t need room for extraneous personal effects, the Case Logic DLC-115 is a practical performer.

I am overall quite happy with this bag. It’s not perfect but it’s great for the price!

I have a 13 inch laptop and needed something that coudl fit this and the charger, which is pretty bulky. The main compartment EASILY fits both. There is a pounch on the front of that pocket that fits my charger really well and it doesn’t create any sort of lump on the side of the bag, either!

The pocket on the front is the perfect size for my Kindle, which I always bring to work to read on lunch breaks. You could easily fit a bit more in there but not a lot more. I always carry my purse with me still so I really don’t need to be able to fit a wallet and other things. It would be doable but maybe a little tight if you had a lot of stuff.

There’s also a small pocket on the back which is perfect for my security badge to get in the door at work.

The only thing I don’t love is that the strap connects with plastic pieces. Nothing has broken yet and I think it’ll be fine since I don’t carry that much weight. I also think the pad on the strap is a bit slippery. Sometimes the bag won’t stay on my shoulder perfectly. I could always replace it (and the plastic pieces) at some point down the road.

Overall, good bag for the price and no real issues so far!

Golden Review Award: 24 From Our UsersWe were pleasantly surprised with the Case Logic DLC-115 15.6-inch Laptop and Tablet Briefcase. The case, just for informational purposes, does not flap open(like a suitcase), when unzippering it to place your laptop in it. The housing compartment for the laptop simply unzippers to enable you to slip your laptop in. It houses the laptop comfortably…not too tight and not too spacious. It’s sized well enough to protect your laptop from damage.
The frontside of the case has a large padded zippered compartment that flaps open to a inner zippered compartment that for the most part, runs the length of the case. There are also 3 slots to hold battery brick, cord, mouse etc., as well as 3 thinner slots for your pens or pencils.
The backside of the case has a smaller zippered compartment that opens to a “felt-like” lining, I assume to carry or house your Iphone or Ipod(it’s sized appropriately for something like that).
The entire case is made of what looks like to be nylon, which seems to be pretty durable. It also comes with an adjustable shoulder strap. The entire case, is of course, padded from front to back to everything in between. It is not cumbersome and is quite light-weight. Even though it is light-weight, I do believe that it is durable enough to effectively protect your laptop and enable you to transport it safely and effieciently from place to place. Highly recommend!

Okay! When I ordered it I was not really sure if I liked it or not, but when I got it I fell in love with it. Yes it has some problems and those are next. 1-I wish it had better padding, it seems so light (lets just say I really don’t want to drop it). 2-The zippers stick somewhat, its not horrible its just annoying at times. Well that ends my bad list, I love it when they are this short! Off to the good side!! 1-The same reason its on the con list, its light! I can carry it around so easy. 2-Lots of pockets, pockets and hiding places are nice (I’m easily entertained). 3-The handles are very soft and easy to hold, the shoulder strap feels very comfy. 4-I love the tablet pocket (more pocket talk) but I still love it.

Oh and its good to note that I am carrying around a 15″ MacBook Pro, a kindle fire, charging cables, usually a book or 2, notebook, a few pens, some form of snacks, any a few other assorted gadgets. All of this fits surprisingly well!.

The bag is great. The computer compartment is spacious and fits my laptop just right. There is a tablet pocket in the same computer compartment which I use to put my Wacom Pen Tablet. The cell pocket in the back is extremely useful to stow away your phone when going through security check points and quickly accessing it when you need it. The front compartment is more like a zipper flap which is very nice when you want to open it wide and take everything out quickly. There is an inside pocket that is kinda useful to put the cords and stuff in, but the reality is that once you begin to put bulky stuff in there the bag begins to bulge and room becomes cumbersome. I tried putting the power cord & adapter in there and found out that it was bulging into the computer compartment (right where the tablet compartment is situated). I end up using the inner compartment for stuff like USB cords and the sort that can be arranged in a some-what flat manner. The power cord and adapter go in the flap part…which becomes like a big pocket…not very neatly organized.

The zippers are GREAT! Zippers are a great nuisance in many products (breaking, stuck, etc.)…not on this one. Fantastic zippers. Great quality.

Shoulder strap is of great quality, but the should pad is so-so. A neoprene pad would make this bag more comfortable to carry around. But not points deducted there.

Minus point for not having a key holder…that’s pretty basic and helpful piece to have.

4 out of 5 stars because space is at a premium and if you carry things like I do (eyeglasses, mouse, books, ID cards, memory, pen tablet, cords, keys, etc.) space becomes limited and disorganized.
