Golden Review Award: 12 From Our UsersI bought this laptop for my daughter last year and bought another now for my stepdaughter. ASUS has really created a nice affordable laptop that is more than suitable for school/college use.

The laptop performance well and starts up quickly. It is very lightweight and a good size for travel. The battery also holds the charge well.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersThis laptop is fantastic for doing little things , it is not got enough ram to do loads but for the amount of ram it has it still does really well . I am so impressed with it
I bought it when my other main laptop broke and was in for repair and I needed to watch tv and just look web browsing . I would not recommend it for work and college work and major usage not enough ram . It is fantastic for what it is and I love it. The battery ;life is great and can last up to two days and charge in a few hours .
I did have a issue a few months later but the customer support was wonderful and helped me very quickly . The customer support is fantastic and the quality of the laptop is brilliant .

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersBought this to be used for college/Uni work and does the job well, battery life is brilliant. Will last a week if only used a couple of times and around 2 odd days if used more. Small capacity internal hard drive so we bought a flash drive to store docs etc on instead of internal drive. Obvioulsy no good for gaming as CPU etc will not run games specs

I was reluctant to buy this brand bcz I was not familiar with it but my laptop is working great. At the beginning it was slow but when I updated it was fantastic. There’s a saying…don’t judge a book by it’s cover…try it affordable and great.

I’m not a tech person, so this was easy to set and navigate.
My son uses this with ease as well.
Great value for money, light weight, just like having a full computer but portable

Golden Review Award: 6 From Our UsersSo far, everything has worked swimmingly. It’s perfect for what I need: light computer work, web browsing, youtube videos, google docs/excel, etc. It’s very lightweight and compact. It has 3 USB ports, 2 older versions and 1 newer version – this is tremendously helpful. It’s surprisingly fast compared to the other laptop I bought at the same price range. The mousepad calculator keypad is inventive and actually kind of useful. It powers on/off quite quickly. Software updates are quite fast. Screen and volume control are fantastic – I can finally watch Netflix on my laptop if I want.

Cons: The left SHIFT button is half the size that I’m used to and there is now a separate backslash key which I always accidentally press, though I’m sure in time I will get used to this. Lastly, I wish the keyboard had backlighting for easier typing during nighttime, but it’s not a dealbreaker.

Originally, I was going to buy an ASUS Zenbook but it was much more expensive than I could afford, but honestly, I really like this Vivobook and think it’s perfect for me. Overall, 9/10! ASUS laptops have always served me well (no surprise as ASUS is a Taiwanese company, which is where I believe most microchips like INTEL are made).

Golden Review Award: 11 From Our UsersWas slightly disappointed with the build quality maybe I was expecting too much for this price. However I recently purchased a Lenovo with the same spec and same price (can’t find the same model anywhere otherwise I would have bought another) and it is perfect.

    Pro’s
    Great quality 1080 screen.
Looks good with the funky design on the lid.

    Con’s
    Lid/screen is very flimsy.
Sharp edges on lid. Screen bezel seems to be larger than the lid leaving sharp edges protruding past the side of the lid. Feels like it will pull of the screen bezel if you aren’t careful.
    Quality control is poor.
Trackpad makes that annoyingly cheap clunk even with the lightest of touches.
Wouldn’t break any speed records. (I expected that for the spec)

Overall it’s just OK for the price and once I installed Linux Mint it felt fast.

I’m content with the purchase – never meant to be a long term laptop but is fine as a stopgap and one to take on holiday etc

Golden Review Award: 7 From Our UsersWe were previously using an Asus X205TA (https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00R6BRR2A/) – an 11.6″ Intel Atom/2GB/Windows 8.1 upgraded to Windows 10 on a 32GB SSD. After 7 years, its performance showed its age. But it was a good machine that lasted the years.

On discovering this more recent Asus E510MA (with a more recent 15″ Celeron/4GB/Windows 11 on 128GB eMMC), it appeared to be the ideal successor. A much larger screen, modern Windows, larger SSD, and it cost very little more (187 vs 155) than that old X205TA from 7 years ago.

The use of that laptop was primarily web, email, and Excel. We used some third-party software, but nothing essential or that couldn’t be replaced (like FireFox, Thunderbird, etc), so we’ve decided to leave it on “S Mode”.

The result is a much more responsive machine, a better user experience, a keyboard with a number pad, and a great screen for the price. If we get the same 7 years out of it that we got for the last one (which is still running, albeit slowly, and still has a decent battery life), then we’ll consider it the bargain of the year.

It’s no powerhouse, if that’s what you’re looking for. I know lots of people will immediately switch out of “S Mode” and into “full Windows 11” in order to use third-party software but, really, if you buy this with that intention in mind then you would be better off buying something more powerful. (I’ve not tested it for gaming, but I’m guessing it wouldn’t be brilliant.)

But, as a basic web/email/Office laptop, this is a great buy.

Golden Review Award: 7 From Our Usersi recently purchased this for my teenage daughter whose laptop had just stipped working.
Having a laptop is vital for school work so after reading many reviews I chose this one.

Its very modern looking, has an extra calcularot oad which is useful for maths.

Its slightly bigger than the last one she has however its light and durable so it doesnt feel bulky.

The screen completly flatterns which my daughter finds “cool”.

Its fast and easy to navigate and came with office for 12 months which is useful for homework.

Overall, extremely happy with this product. Bought the extended warranty to go with it for a reasonable price. 🙂

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersIt’s a good little laptop, though it doesn’t have a lot of storage space. I don’t like sending my stuff up to the cloud and only store on the laptop. But this is only for a specific use l purchased this so does what it’s supposed to do. Yes l would recomend it.

Golden Review Award: 9 From Our UsersComes with Windows 10 or11 S mode , meaning doesn’t let you install other software that is not in the Microsoft store. If you want to install other software you need to get out of S mode . For the rest , nice little laptop to use . Practice.
