I bought this particular bike having spent time looking at the options i had to consider, im 6’3″ 17st (108kg) and wanted to take it on various country paths as too old for vigourous mountain bike riding, just want to ride and get a little help when needed and this looked like the best option. First thing to say is that it is really packaged well, and everything is cable tied so nothing moved within is huge box. It is heavy and i have to help the UPS driver get it off his van and into my house, which wasnt an issue, however lucky im retired as i had no warning that it was being delivered although it came on the first day of the estimated delivery date. You have to assemble the front wheel which is dead easy, adjust the saddle height again dead easy and attach the front mudguard all easy stuff. The user guide covers most of what i needed to know however those questions not covered were answered by a support person called Cino. This is a very sturdy bike and built to last and take the rigors of offroad riding however at my height and weight the spec required to propel me along would be more than the more expensive models would provide. Make sure you do your homework about e-bikes, watch videos, read about them and be clued up on all aspects like security, insurance, parts, gps tracking and maintenance as these are desirable items and your investment in one will go beyond the initial purchase price. One word of warning, i have yet to find anyone willing to touch an e-bike not purchased from them for maintenance purposes however im sure they exist having only had it 2 weeks.
Part 2
I have now found several bike shops happy to do maintenance stuff on my bike in the future should i need it, which was a strange response from a major bike retailer whose name begins with ‘H’ who would’nt touch it due to not being bought from them. I have slowly found replacement items via Amazon like the S900 controller console and other bits, as i like to know what is replaceable under my own steam which would give me a good idea what to expect if i was being charged by a repair outfit or if i needed to replace the part myself. The hardest item to find to date is a 4g tracker which is invisible to the thief, but the search goes on. I have now fitted full fat tyre mudguards, like the old fashion ones that cover about 50% of the rear wheel and about 33% of the front, which should help protect and keep alot more dirt off my bike. Again off the pages of Amazon, was very expensive and from China but fits beautifully and as a bulky item to ship is probable why the high cost. I have included pictures of how my bike was packed the day i got it and the accessory pack that was included. So to date im very happy with this purchase and i hope this lengthy review helps those thinking about a healthy lifestyle.
Part 3
I have now settled for a custom 4g tracker solution which is expensive but will help to ensure my investment has a layer solution to its recovery should the worst occur.
Part 4
The tracking solution turned out to be rubbish as i considered the Apple Airtag, did a real life test with my friend who had bought a 4 pack and it was complete rubbish however you must read how the Airtag works therefore it is not suitable for those in semi and rural areas. Apparently in cities and built up areas the results may be different. So the search continues for a tracker that is invisible to the thief, very very small, has a long battery life and is accurate, surely not too much to ask for, is it? The first image shows supplied mudguards and the last image shows the lovely full mudguards attached, however not a cheap replacement.
