I am now 8oyrs. Used Braun razors for all my adult life. After working abroad, where I couldn’t charge it, I grew a short beard in 1997. Razor cleaned my cheeks and trimmed beard fine. I suppose that may have extended life of battery, which eventually gave up last year. Bought this chap because at my age I didn’t think any more advanced, expensive series was worth it. It is magic! Although I do have a bit of trouble with the trimmer as it is so dammed efficient – at risk of bald bits!
Bought this for my dad as he keeps taking chunks out of himself with his normal razor. He has always hated electric razors and says they never give a good shave but he gets on really well with this. Also got it on offer so excellent price.
if i have a dislike about this product it is that it will not give you as close a shave as a wet shave but what electric shaver does it very sturdy ad does the job so i dnt have a problem with i
Not as robust as older Braun shavers (this is my fourth) but not all bad. Shaves closely although it takes a little longer. All plastic so doesn’t feel as well made. However I prefer the removable trimmer as on my last two Brauns the integrated one gave up the ghost years before the actual shavers. All in all a good shaver for the price and we’ll see how long it lasts. Fingers crossed. Oh and the replacement foil is much cheaper too
I have used the traditional Phillishave for the past 55 years and fancied a change. I have tried Braun Foil shavers before, but they were not too great in the old days. So I saw the Braun 7 at a greatly reduced price and took a chance and purchased it. I am pleased with the shaving results from this modern and very flexible shaver. I am not disappointed with my purchase.
The Braun shaver is very well designed and lightweight and comfortable in your hand.It charges up quickly and the battery lasts well. The foil and cutter are static but remove your facial stubble effectively and can be rinsed off under the tap or with the supplied brush.I’ve used Braun shavers all my life and this version won’t let you down.
I only have the use of one arm/ hand so easiness of changing the cutting heads and cleaning are essential for me. This Series 5 is also an improvement on my old Series 3 on shave(although this was good) Both are extremely easy for me to use and maintain! Very happy with this!
i thought different heads for shaving and cutting wouldn’t be an issue, sorry to say it is an absolute pain having to keep changing. with my previous razor it was just a flick from one mechanism to the other. should have done my homework properly
Bought this to replace my latest long term Panasonic razor which needed a new battery plus cutters and foil. As usual it was cheaper to buy a new razor. It’s nice and light and charges quickly. Spare parts are half the price of the Panasonic.
I recently purchased the Braun Series 5 Electric Shaver, equipped with a precision trimmer attachment for moustache and sideburns, and I must say, it exceeded all my expectations. This remarkable grooming tool is a game-changer for anyone who values a close and comfortable shave with effortless precision.
From the moment I held the Series 5 shaver, I could tell it was a high-quality product. The sleek design, ergonomic grip, and solid construction give it a premium feel, ensuring it can withstand the test of time. The shaver is also surprisingly lightweight, making it easy to maneuver around every contour of your face.
One of the standout features of the Braun Series 5 is its exceptional shaving performance. The innovative AutoSensing motor effortlessly adapts to the density of your beard, delivering consistent power and ensuring an efficient shave every time. The flexible shaving head effortlessly follows the contours of your face, effortlessly capturing even the most stubborn hairs. The result? An incredibly close and smooth shave that leaves your skin feeling baby soft.

It allows for detailed grooming, enabling you to effortlessly shape and style your facial hair with the utmost precision. Whether you prefer a perfectly trimmed moustache or well-defined sideburns, this attachment will be your new go-to tool.
I was also thoroughly impressed by the Series 5’s battery life. With a single charge, I was able to get multiple shaves without any loss in performance. Additionally, the quick charge feature is a lifesaver for those times when you’re in a rush and need a quick touch-up. Just a five-minute charge provides enough power for one full shave. The LED display is a handy addition, providing real-time battery status updates, ensuring you’re never caught off guard with a low battery.
Cleaning the Braun Series 5 is an absolute breeze. The shaver is fully waterproof, allowing for easy rinsing under running water. The included cleaning brush helps remove any remaining hair particles, ensuring the shaver stays hygienic and in peak condition.
In summary, the Braun Series 5 Electric Shaver with Precision Trimmer Attachment is a grooming tool that effortlessly combines precision, versatility, and performance. The precision trimmer attachment is a brilliant addition that allows for meticulous grooming of moustache and sideburns. I was so annoyed with this shaver when I first got it. My original intention for this shaver was to use it every other day as a dry shaver. After trying it for a few times I was annoyed that it couldn’t shave clean an entire area. I was actually happy, impressed even with the closeness, but it would miss patches of hair. I originally thought it was the direction or because the hair laid flat but no matter what I did I could not reliably get it to not miss spots. Tried heard of all lengths!
Just as I’d given up on this I tried it in the shower with a little bit of shaving cream and it’s like a totally different machine. It’s managed to be very consistent only missing a patch of hair where I’d not been very thorough.
As for the closeness. I can’t believe it actually. It’s like I’ve just used a brand new blade on a razor. It’s incredibly close. Most people seem satisfied with the closeness but say that it never lives up to a wet shave. For my facial hair I would say it feels better. I think that’s because I have hair growing in inconsistent directions on my neck and I always struggle to get that with a wet razor.
So i’m going to stick with the every other day shave but i’m going to use exclusively in the shower.
I should add for context, I have coarse thickness facial hair, curly when long.
I have only owned the razor for a couple of months. It is very light and easy to handle. I only use it for dry shaves and in this respect it isn’t as good as my previous Remington; which I had for more than two decades.
However; the lithium battery lasts for numerous shaves and I like the idea the cutters won’t need changing for 18 months; hopefully
It is very easy to clean and has a useful accessory for trimming one’s sideburns. Clearly a very good brand and all in all, I am very happy with the puchase!
It was nearly 50 years ago when my Philishave went wrong. I borrowed my father’s razor, soap and brush, and had never shaved any other way until a recent chin injury made it impossible to run a blade across the damaged area. I know Braun have a good reputation and after looking into their various models, decided that the Series 5, at 70 was probably the best value for my needs. After a week of use and learning a new technique, I’m very pleased to find how much better this is than my old shaver. It feels well made & balanced, comfortable on the skin and shaves much closer to my razor than I had expected. I have only used it for dry shaving and feel no need to do otherwise. My razor and brush could be shelved for good.
I bought this shaver nearly 2 years ago and waited to see how it performed over time. I liked the feel of the unit and it shaves smoothly and effortlessly. I even think it looks good! It would get 5 stars except for the cost of new shaverhead units. They should last 18 months but my red light came on after 12 and I feel that they are expensive to replace. I do have a warning here thouigh and please trust me I have no connections to Braun. – Due to the price of the head replacement I went on Amazon for alternatives and there are loads of cheaper ones purporting to be the same as Braun’s. Dont be mislead. Although they look identical I had to stop using 2 of them after a short period as the blades were rubbish, fitted poorly and kept pulling the hairs out instead of cutting them. Eye watering! They are clearly inferior and so I have resigned myself to the costlier Braun ones.
It’s a long time since I bought an electric razor, but thought it time to find out if they’ve sorted out all the problems. The Braun Series 5 came in as the Which best buy, and was well regarded everywhere, so I plumped for this.
I have to say they’ve fixed all the problems there used to be with electric razors. In order of importance:
1. It actually gives a good shave without ripping your skin to shreds. Not quite as good as a wet shave, but close enough that I don’t have to go over with a razor. I haven’t tried it as a wet razor but I don’t really see the point of doing that.
2. It’s a doddle to clean. I once had a Phillips that took far longer to clean than to have a shave. The Braun just opens up, you knock it clean, you can run it under the tap. Seconds later you’re good to go.
3. Ergonomically it really needs no improvement. It looks good, it feels right in the hand, not heavy and, as above, easy to maintain.
The one downside that loses the star:
It has a two pin plug charger. In 2022? What a faff in the UK. They just needed to give it a USB charger and it would have been perfect.
