Ok I have updated this review as the company got in touch to help resolve the problems. I do think the company is very attentive.
For some reason the tripod mount is at the back and NOT on the bottom. This means you cannot use 99.9% of tripods available. For which for a great product is a real shame.
I placed camera on edge of woodland for 3 days and got photo of badger So pleased The battery life is great, was on 95% when I went back to check.
The camera is now placed lower and hoping for video soon.
Ella was great at customer service in registering my warranty by email. Thanks
Great camera. Helped me determine i had a squirrel in my loft and now hwlping me monitor a barn owl box. Very clear video and photos and easy to use
This is a well made trail camera. The picture and video quality is excellent, but even at 4K this is not a film makers camera. It may take a little perseverance to get the video or picture that you want as trail cameras are not motion detection, they detect a change in the ambient infra-red heat of the scene and so the activation time is slower than advertised. Some animals are weary of the red lights on the front and the camera makes a noise as the infra-red filter is moved in and out of place – this is the same for about 99.9% of all trail cameras. The solar panel is excellent and works well, you are unlikely to need the back-up batteries.
I knew the down sides to this camera before I bought it, the slower than advertised trigger speed and that you can only see the live camera view via the app. There is also one other down side which I have passed on the the manufacturer via the UK agent, it does not effect the workings, price, specification or quality of the camera in any way and I will not mention what it is, but if the manufacturer or UK agent reads this, I feel that the point made in my e-mail would be of benefit, then it would be 5 stars.
While reviewers say they were sent the camera for free, the one thing that people who review these cameras on YouTube don’t mention is that many trail cameras, including this one, are available within a large price range under different manufactures badges.
I opted to buy the Ceyomur CY95 for my own reasons and am very happy with the camera as it does what I want it to do and I would buy it again. The only thing I would buy to replace this is a dual lens trail camera with a fixed moulded solar panel – for life outside these things need to be completely sealed against the elements, and this model, the Ceyomur CY95, is.
You may have to update you video playing software to watch the recordings on a PC, which should be nothing to put you off this camera. I have not had any problems on a Mac.
This camera is worth buying but as with anything, you need a bit of patience and practice to get the best out of it.
Does exactly what it is advertised to do. Not much more to say really – it was a present for my wife and she is very happy with it.
Bought the CY65 , Returned as Continuous False Triggers , Order another CY65 , Again Returned this time poor low audio, Ordered the CY95 , all good so far , Solar Panel is a great saving on power , Batteries Etc
Had issues with it but customer service sorted it ou
A very great camera. The best and most functional that I’ve used. Self sustaining and powered. The Wi-Fi & Bluetooth features make it the perfect solution. Highly recommended.
Bought this to replace an old one that succumbed to the weather after a few years of use. Was lured to this because of the nice to have features and the promise of 4k video. WellI thought at first that the 4k video file had a problem and just couldnt get it to play. I wrote an initial review as I was unhappy with this then ate humble pie as I discovered the PC couldnt process the H265 codec quick enough. The file worked fine on my smartphone. Because of this newer codec the files are smaller than my more expensive Browning SpecOps Elite but the difference is that the latter seems to be able to capture moving objects so much better and this one blurs when things move unless they are doing so slowly. The photo quality is good unless at dusk or dawn when the IR hasn’t kicked in. The Inbuilt battery lasts well it appears and hasn’t shifted from 100% since it has been out for the last week. I suspect that it is the wireless feature that eats the battery. There is an option to change the shutter speed but for wildlife you need the fastest so that is 1/30. I checked the metadata and some of the shots are faster than this so a bit unsure what it does. It might be that it means it wont take it any slower than that. As regards to the wireless part I downloaded the app and went through the instructions. You need to give it permission to access photos and location which tbh is unsurprising. If the trailcam is within a few feet and turned on you can fire up the app. It will ask you if it can turn on bluetooth then try and pair with the trailcam. Once done it will ask you to connect via wifi. A bit clunky but technically this is probably the only way to enable it without having wifi on all the time and draining the battery. I couldnt remember the wifi password (in the manual) so abandoned it first time and checked what it was on the trailcam. After that the darned thing wouldnt connect again via bluetooth. I ended up finding the app on my android phone, forcing a stop and clearing the data (easy to do). Then when through the setup again with the right password and it actually worked! I can no sit in the allotment greenhouse at dusk and wait for the badgers to appear. In reality I would wire up a more robust system but I guess a nice feature to have. Lastly, is the solar feature useful? Really not sure. Most trailcams are in woods out of sunlight so wont charge but it is actually a good raincover for the lens!!! Cant quite give 5* but tbh it is way better than previous cheapish trailcameras and I am now happy with the result.
This is a superb and innovative trail camera which works very well and I’m sure will help cut down on wasteful battery usage.
The solar panel does appear to keep the internal rechargeable battery topped up even if not fully in direct sunlight – but do make sure to fully charge the camera first.
As far as backup batteries go (which will kick in when the rechargeable battery is almost depleted – think long dark days….) I’d recommend using rechargeable Eneloop Pro AA’s as these work well even at low temperatures and have extremely low self discharge characteristics.
Image (still and video) quality is really good both during the day and at night when the pair of powerful 850nm IR emitters come into play. Bear in mind that these emitters do produce a slight deep red glow when looking directly at them which may or may not be a concern but the images produced are certainly full of detail and relatively noise free – excellent!
(Compared to another camera of mine which uses 940nm zero glow emitters I suspect that the 850nm emitters used in the CY95 are a better match for the image sensor and optics so produce clearer more detailed images).
Possibly the motion detection system could be made slightly more sensitive as I do feel that my other cameras are a little bit more sensitive. This could very well be a necessary design compromise but with careful positioning and a little bit of trial and error I’ve had some very good results.
The built in Bluetooth and WiFi works well over short (<10m and preferably line of sight) distances and is more than adequate when it comes to downloading images or changing certain settings.
All in all the CY95 is a cracking trail camera - definitely recommended!!
Btw it's worth mentioning that if you do need to contact Ceyomur with any issues they stand by their products, are extremely helpful and will do all they can to help.
Not had it long but seems good at the moment. Download the app so you can view on your phone picture quality is really clear overall if you like wildlife. It’s a great hobby to keep an eye on what’s about when your not.
Purchased this as a gift and the recipient loves it, they have captured some interesting night visitors in the garden, so far no hedgehog – but it is still winter – fingers crossed for the spring. They are loving it and I think it will probably go with them on their travels. Great gift and I thought good value for money. Accompanying booklets has clear instructions and is useful. Thank you CEYOMUR.
Really good trail camera. Great picture quality and sound. Night vision fantastic. Thinking of buying another one!
Only had it a few weeks and the first bit of rain and it leaked into the camera ingress of water was by the mounting screw.
I contacted them on there own web site and i am still waiting for a response. (A week later)
After getting in touch with me Ceyomur bent over backwards to rectify my problem there was a problem with the original email but that has now been sorted.
I am very Pleased with the response and outcome after talking to Ceyomu
Important to note this is for filming wildlife, it’s not a CCTV camera! That’s what I got it for, to see what the foxes who visit our garden were up to.
It takes great footage, I set it to film 90 seconds and at the moment it’s literally pitch dark outside at night. The infrared filming works magically.
Connecting to the laptop to both charge and download footage worked great initially, but the USB socket has – after a few months of daily use – started to fail, as USB sockets so often do.
Connecting with a phone via Bluetooh and wifi is super-clumsy. I have no idea why it’s set up this way, there must be a reason, but if you’re getting this for a relative who is not a digital professional, forget it! This is a shame as it’s super-useful to check if it’s set up, change the settings (sensitivity and length of footage you want to film when motion is detected)
I don’t have a card reader handy, but think this would be the best way to get footage from the camera and manage the space on the included memory card.
For me, this seems to not hold a charge for longer than a few hours now. Note my earlier comment about the USB socket, it’s not helping keep it charged. I’m not sure what the 4 x AA batteries do, but it appears the solar cell is pretty useless at helping keep any charge, but – to be fair – I haven’t got one without a solar cell, so can’t compare.
Update: put 4 AA batteries in and your charge goes up to 100 per cent. However, one set of these just died in 24 hours. Looks like my camera is draining power thanks to a fault of some sort.
If you’re looking for one to see what’s going on wildlife-wise in your garden, I recommend saving a few quid and getting the none-solar one and one that you just put batteries in. Also try and have a handy card reader so the weak USB input becomes irrelevant.
Definitely don’t get this for your mum because – depsite the quality of its output – it’s not too user-friendly.
What with the now completely failed usb, lack of ability to charge and failure of a set of new AA batteries in 24 hours, mine is going back for a refund or replacement.
Thanks!
I hesitated to buy a Trail Cam until now as I wanted good quality and there are so many bad ones even at this price point.
I’m so pleased with this one. It’s been used on a night schedule for a week and the battery is still at 80% despite grey skies. You could trust this on a remote site for several weeks especially with the backup batteries.
The video quality is very good in daylight and the Night video is also better than most I’ve seen. Photos are decent too.
WiFi transfer is very easy and quite quick too.
Main Pros
Battery life (and solar capability)
Video image quality and reliability
Build quality
Easy to use and transfer files wirelessly
Cons
At this price – none (would love a sim for remote login but hey ho!)
I initially went for the Nexcam variation of this camera and it arrived broken (bluetooth not working, parts missing). Amazon were superb and not only was the return immediately requested but the money was back in the account in less than a few hours and so I ordered another camera.
This camera is the same as the Nexcam but the QR code points to a different version of “similar” software. The setup is a bit of a faff but online instructions are clear enough – you need to switch bluetooth on first of all, camera is then discoverable which then kicks the WiFi into life. WiFi SSID is then discoverable. The bluetooth range is about 10m but the WiFi is a bit less.
The software is simple but brilliant. It allows you to control ALL settings on the camera without the need of removing the camera from where it is attached. For me, it protects the pond (from herons), an astronomy observatory and a robot mower. The coverage and sensitivity is first class.
Camera is Solar powered and it arrived about 85% charged. A quick 2 hour blast with the included usb charger lead was enough to top it up completely (musical jingle confirms completion). It is coming on to winter so I have added some lithium AA batteries just in case it needs them. If you live in a cooler area in the country do choose lithium over alkaline. I wouldn’t bother with rechargeable as these are 1.2v vice 1.5v so 4.8v whereas 6v is what is really required. And of course the hassle of recharging them.
Overall, delighted with the Ceyomur variant and for the same Black Friday price, this also includes a micro SD card – the Nexcam variant did not.
Oh, another thing about connectivity – inside the camera case there are 3 QR codes depending on operating system. I have this configured on my iPad (no problems) and Android phone (again no problems).
Very Happy indeed with my purchase and the Amazon returns process (meaning account credited before Black Friday week expired).
ps I may add photos in the days to come
We are using this in the garden to get pics of birds using our feeders. It works very well and we have ‘caught’ next doors cat creeping around at night. The responsiveness and picture quality is good. Sometimes the battery is down to 90% in the morning, but soon is back up to 100% by mid morning, even on cloudy and rainy days. Connecting to the camera via the app is easy as is downloading to local in the app and then saving for posterity. Throughly recommend this trail camera.
Noticed something had been digging in the garden and wanted to find out what it was. We now have lots of great photos of birds in the garden during the day, cats – day and night – a fox and the digging culprit – a badger. Very pleased with this for the money. Stays charged even on these dark, damp days here in the West of Scotland!
I’m delighted with this camera. Having read reviews prior to purchase, it seems a lot of people have trouble connecting their phone to the camera & I failed on this too but contacted the vendor who replied swiftly with a friendly & really detailed explanation how to connect & it all works exactly as described now. They sent a follow-up email to check that I had succeeded & to ask if I had any other questions.
Image quality day & night on stills and video are good. Just be careful to stake the camera firmly as mine toppled over and took 1500 photos/videos of branches in the wind – the only “wildlife” appearing in 3 days was a spider who peered into the lens & wandered off again! Now it is secured in a different part of the garden, it’s snapped/filmed lots of different bird activity daily & a lone badger one night.
I would highly recommend this camera!
Great camera, but it’s let down somewhat by the app. I have however been assured it will improve.
CEYOMUR Solar Wildlife Camera, capable of 4K 30fps video.
Absolutely amazing bit of kit, it did not just meet my expectations it shattered them.
The daytime footage is so clear and colours so life like, I would put it on a par with my 4K DJI drone footage.
The night time footage is also amazing, the infrared LED’s illuminate incredible distances and the PIR’s will pick up the slightest hedgehog movement from a distance 25 or 30 feet (Maybe more) as that’s the distance to my patio boundary.
The camera is very well made, strong and robust and is a nice camouflaged coloured unit.
There are a plethora of settings should you choose to go into them and the menu system is intuitive and easy to navigate.
Seriously, if you are looking for a low maintenance, low running cost (Solar) camera to catch the little critters that visit your garden or patio at night, I do not believe this camera can be bettered.
There are so many setting should you choose from to fine tune or tweak the camera and/or the PIR capture angles.
I understand that it can connect to a smartphone via the cameras own WiFi network, or by Bluetooth.
I haven’t looked at that yet and probably won’t as it is so easy to just remove the Micro SD card and pop it into my computer.
Forgive me for waxing lyrical about the Ceyomur Solar Camera but it really is a great product.
There is an old saying that goes like this ‘If something seems to good to be true then it probably is’.
Well this Camera has just knocked that saying out of the ball park.
I would have uploaded a video of the camera capturing a hedgehog visiting my patio but alas Amazon will only allow one video per post/review.
Update:
On viewing my video clip from this ‘Review’ I notice that the video quality is not as good as it is directly from the Camera/Micro SD Card, this could be to do with Amazon compressing the file to make it smaller, thereby making it easier for storage and quicker to download/view.

I have a couple of these wildlife cameras and, although you still need to insert batteries, they last a lot longer thanks to the solar panel. Mine have been set up for more than six months, taking pictures and movies every day and I haven’t needed to replace the batteries yet.
Images and movies are good quality and the animals captured are clearly visible. It takes a micro SD card, which is a little tricky to get in and out of the slot, but otherwise it is easy to use once you have it up and running.
Update
Despite having my cameras switched on constantly for around ten months, I have not needed to replace the AA batteries at all. My other cameras need replacement batteries every couple of weeks, so this is a big cost saving.
Since installation, my camera has picked up deer, badgers, rabbits and foxes in the garden at night. I knew all except the badgers were in the area, but hadn’t seen any sign of them. Now I have the proof in both still and movie images. I have purchased several more so that I can cover more of my garden at night.
I had been looking for a trail camera for some time and was perplexed by the wide range on offer but none matched what I was looking for- durable battery, wifi, image quality-price!
A neighbour was doing the same research and he pointed me to this camera which ticked all the boxes.
Really a tremendous buy.
Lithium battery backed up with photovoltaic top which charges the battery but also has space for traditional battery backup. (I have used the camera for over a month and the Li battery has hardly been bothered). My neighbour reports the same, hardly any noticeable battery drain- he doesn’t even bother with the AA battery backup.
The wifi works a dream with the smartphone app. I can access and control all the functions of the camera from my living room. Quality of video and photo resolution is far better than my DSLR equipment.
A very minor annoyance- when the pir sensor picks up movement it takes a pic but there seems to be a minimum 10s delay before the video records so fast moving nightlife can trigger the system and have disappeared before the video catches them.
Now having a neighbour with the same setup meant a bit of a tangle until we sorted our respective Bluetooth and wifi signals!
All in all- an impressive piece of kit I fully recommend this.
We bought this as it is solar powered and works with WiFi.
The solar power works fine – we haven’t put AA batteries in and don’t really need them.
The SD card records images and if you attach the Camera to a computer using the USB cable then it is easier to see the images. It is very exciting to capture images of wildlife in the garden.
Customer services were very helpful in responding to a question I had.
I wanted a wildlife camera but wondered about using all those batteries the world can do without! So I opted for a solar powered model and hoped it would work as described. It does! So far the battery has remained virtually full without any need to charge. The quality of pics is superb. The supplied SD card can store plenty of files. Once I’d got through my initial bout of confusion about changing the settings it all became very straight forward.
I’ve been using it for about 2 weeks and so far so good. Let’s hope it keeps going.
We have only had this camera a week but we are so happy with the quality of videos and photos. It was fairly easy to set up, bit fiddly getting WiFi working but eventually we got it. We had to tweek settings over a couple of nights but overall very happy. The solar power is a plus, don’t have to keep recharging batteries every few days. The motion detection works as far as the bottom of our garden, so happy with that. Very easy to use. I have had comments on Facebook on the quality of the photos posted, which were screenshots from the videos. I wouldn’t normally post a review this quick but I am very pleased with the camera.
Really good quality pics and videos. Being able to view pics and videos and adjust the settings from phone is a great feature, particularly if you have large and not very dexterous hands. I had difficulty getting the app to work probably due to my age and lacking technology skills but the customer support team soon got me sorted. Excellent camera, giving me a lot of pleasure seeing the visitors to my garden. I can now match a bum to the poop in my garden.
I HAVE BEEN USING THIS CAMERA FOR SOME TIME NOW I HAVE OTHER TRAIL CAMERAS [CAMPARK] AND THOUGHT I WOULD GET THIS ONE BECAUSE OF THE SOLAR PANEL IT WORKS VERY WELL I INSTALLED BACKUP BATTRIES AS PER INSTRUCTIONS AND TO DATE THEY ARE STILL FULLY CHARGED THE CAMERA TAKES EXCELLENT PICTURES AND VIDEO. I HAVE IT SET TO ONLY COME ON AT NIGHT AND SO FAR, IT HAS PICKED UP BADGERS AND DEER IN MY GARDEN AND OF COURSE MY CAT TRIGGERS IT AS WELL THE SENSORS ARE SET TO THE MEDIUM SETTING AND I FINDTHIS TO WORK WELL. THE BLUE TOOTH WORKS FROM ABOUT TWENTY YARDS AWAYAND IT IS VERY EASY TO DOWNLOAD PICTURES AND VIDEO VIA WIFI OVERALL I AM VERY PLEASED WITH THIS CAMERA AND I WOULD RECOMEND IT NO PROBLEM ATALL.
Edited: having been in touch with Ceyomur customer service it may appear mine is defective and they are sending a replacement. Excellent customer service
I bought this camera because solar power appealed as well as being able to access using an app. When the camera works the picture and video quality is amazing. However it’s extremely unreliable. Motion detection is very slow and inconsistent some days not working at all. Tried various settings and different sd cards but very hit and miss. Extremely disappointed
Bought this to film hedgehogs in my garden.
Solar power works well. Picture quality OK.
Only criticism is the app. It is very clunky: you have to go through a tedious multi step process to connect your phone everytime you want to look at images on the camera. It is also fiddly and time consuming to delete or download images from the camera.
Update: since writing this review the company has been in touch to say that they are working on updating their app and wifi connection process to make it easier to use, although they did not say when this update would be released. With that in mind I accepted their offer of a refund and have upgraded my star rating from three to four on the grounds that as a seller they seem extremely responsive. I would consider upgrading to five stars once the app has been updated and I have tried it out.
I have a wildlife camera but one of the clips holding the door shut snapped off. I spent ages looking at the other brands on the market and purchased this one based on the reviews. It’s a very well built camera, I like the idea of it having solar charging which saves quite a lot on batteries. The night vision is years ahead of our old one, we mainly use it at night to keep a watch on the Hedgehogs and the footage is very clear. It was a pain to get it to play through my phone initially until I realized you need to have “Location” enabled after that it connects just fine. The reason I’ve given it 4 stars is the abysmal support bracket, it is a heavy camera, and they have put the “tripod” fitting on the back instead of underneath where every camera I’ve owned has the fitting. The bracket they supply is cheap and not strong enough to hold the camera in the position you want. I have two small tripods which I normally use but they won’t fit, I have tried using pliers to tighten up their support bracket but it still droops down. I know some people will think this is trivial, but that leaves you with the problem of trying to wedge the camera up in the right position. If you can manage with the supplied bracket then this is the camera to purchase.
Ceyomur CY95 solar-powered trail camera
I like the quality of build of the unit. It has a good, solid construction.
The camouflage colour of the exterior is a great idea.
The solar panel seems to work well and it is easy to do a top-up charge using a phone charger
The main battery lasts all night with lots of power left in it.
The red lights of the infrared sensors do not disturb the wildlife being videoed/photographed.
The quality of the videos and stills is excellent.
You can make changes to the settings, e.g. length of video, elapsed time, via your phone, using Bluetooth/WiFi.
Transfer of videos and stills from camera to PC is easy.
The included camera mount “tripod” (but not a tripod) works well. You need a spanner to fit it together, attach it to the camera (and detach it) and to adjust it.
The company, Ceyomur, is good to deal with and gives excellent support.
