So glad I got these the sound quality is amazing
I ordered these in December 2019, and they survived over 3 years of daily use, multiple house moves, travelling across the country in both public and private transport, being dropped, thrown and stepped on and have only just given up the ghost today.
Pros
They are robust, have a good quality mic and good sound. They are comfortable to wear and look quite good. The signal is strong enough to wander the entire house without it disconnecting, often I would need to go downstairs to get stuff from the kitchen and I could keep talking to people.
cons
The ear padding doesn’t last super long and I have had to replace it twice, the mic doesn’t stay retracted on it’s own, always dropping down to engage with even a slight movement of the head, and they give constant annoying beeping every few minutes when below 50% charge.
Overall they are a very good set if you are looking for a wireless headset, would recommend
I bought these gaming headphones last week at a reduced price of 79.00 which was 27% off after searching for a good pair for weeks. I asked all my gaming friends for recommendations and all of them listed different brands. I wanted wireless to say goodbye to the cord which kept getting wrapped around my chair with my old ones. 7.1 surround. A good quality microphone and speakers. A decent battery was also important as some of my gaming sessions on the weekend with friends can go on for hours. I got all of these things.
WIRELESS
The headphones use 2.4GHz wireless frequency to connect to your PC witht he supplied adapter. It is essentially plug-and-play, with very little setup required (I discuss iCUE below). The range is great, I can go from all corners of my home and it never cuts out and I haven’t noticed any latency with any game, video or song I listen to. I am still getting used to not being tethered to my desk with a cord anymore and realised today I can actually go and make a cup of tea while still talking to my friends now.
BUILD QUALITY
Strong plastic design with a lovely shape and adjustable headband. Combined with the comfortable ear rests which do a great job with external noise reduction, I happy with the quality of this product. I also love how the mic can be raised which mutes all input audio if for example you want to go to the bathroom but still want to listen to a video etc. The charging is fast (cable supplied) and has a great length in case you need it while working/gaming and the battery starts getting low. However, I’ve not needed to do this yet. The lights on the side are nice and funky and can be changed to suit your style.
SOUND AND iCUE
Music, gaming and video sound quality ARE crisp, with a nice balance of bass. A massive upgrade to my old ELO headphones. The surround is amazing and I can hear the location of every footstep in my games. I have nothing bad to say about the sound quality, absolutley out of this world! I can also hear my friends a lot clearer in Discord calls. You can download the supported application iCUE which can change the colour od the lights on the side, change the levels of bass etc. You can pretty much customize the entire headphone experience via this software and I highly recommend downloading it. It also supports Nvidia Broadcast which only adds tot he overall sound and microphone quality.
MICROPHONE
When I joined a call the other day using these for the first time, my friends noticed a massive improvement to my voice quality. They background noise reduction works extremely well, and makes my voice very clear. I haven’t tested this with games I own which use voice recognition yet but I am sure I won’t have any problems with these either as after hearing my voice back, the feedback was faultless. Sounded like I was in a recording studio!
OVERALL
Excellent value for money, fantastic quality. I would highly recommend these to any gamer and people who work from home and need to take conference calls. 10/10
I will recommend this headset to everyone!!! I brought mine from a year ago with me from my move from Florida to the UK and I lost the dongle. BUT this headset is THAT amazing that I bought the exact same one. I use it for gaming and it has a great battery, noise cancellation, and everything else you might need. It also can reach incredibly far wirelessly. I walked away from my PC to make food or something and I could still talk to my friends. It’s so great. The comfort is completely perfect and one feature it has is that it mutes you automatically on Discord (etc.) When you put the mic piece up. I think all headsets should incorporate that. The mouth piece also lights up red if you are muted some other way. Overall, this is just an amazing headset. BUY IT!!
I use this all the time when I am gaming with friends on the computer.
the sound quality is very nice and I am able to tell from which side enemies are coming from by listening to their footsteps when I play call of duty. i have had another headset which has an option to enhance the sound even more but i love this headset.
you can adjust the size of the band to fit your head more, and it has really nice cushioned ear pads so it is really comfortable to wear for hours of gaming.
it is wireless as well so that’s great and has a long battery life and charges easily with a standard USB cable.
The Corsair VOID ELITE RGB Wireless Review.
So like all my reviews I try to give products time.
And this was no different.
I got this product from the Amazon Warehouse as new, and well it was.
Box came in great condition with the headset showing little to no wear.
Let’s break it down, The headset is big, so if you have a semi-small head like me this may not be for you as it kind of weighs on the head, but if your average then you’re okay.
The RG integration is great, the Mic is brilliant in Wireless and the sound quality is magnificent once you tweak the settings I have attached a picture of what I use.
Pros:
The headset is well built.
The mic is excellent.
The RGB is a nice touch.
The battery life is Ok.
The Padding in the headband and earcups is good.
Handy Red light when mic is muted.
Mic Mutes when upright.
Cons:
The headset is quite Heavy, but nothing crazy.
The battery life is very low when RGB is on.
The headset is large so may not be comfortable on your head/ears.
The Microphone stem is large and in your face.
Overall I think this is a 5/5 headset for most people, but for me after giving it hope for a month it is just too big for my head so will be trying to return it.
Please rate this as helpful if it helps
Decided to finally upgrade (if you call it an upgrade) from my aging Astro A40’s I’ve been using over 6 years. I wanted something new, and more importantly something wireless. Getting tangled up on my chair with the headphone wire, having a mixamp on my desk and optical cable/usb cable it was messy. The microphone tells you when it is on/off for reassurance that you aren’t accidentally saying something for others to hear!
These are solid headphones, they look the part. They’re very comfortable and have adequate padding on both the headband and surrounding you ears. I find these a much tighter fit than my Astro A40’s to the point it blocks 90% of background noise out on 35% volume. I find 35% volume is more than enough for me, any louder and I’ll be deaf by the time I’m 50. I can often hear my heart beating when the sound goes silent that’s how good a fit these are.
I’d say they sound quality is slightly inferior compared with my old Astro A40’s, but it’s a “budget” gaming headset. I wasn’t convinced on the sound quality at first until I discovered and downloaded Dolby Atmos for 7.1 surround sound (spatial audio). This transformed the sound quality and headset making me start to enjoy it. I highly recommend downloading Dolby Atmos off the Microsoft store and turning on the Dolby Atmos via the spatial audio on Windows – it will transform the sound quality.
Battery life on a full charge, I can’t seem to get a full charge yet I usually unplug it around 92-96% battery, that will last me about 6 hours of continuous use before I need to recharge it. This is on 35% volume. The advert claims up to 16 hours of battery life, I think this is highly optimistic by Corsair you’d be lucky to get half that on low volume.
The range is good I can walk downstairs and into the hallway before the sound cuts off. As soon as I’m back in range it will auto reconnect.
Overall I’m happy with my purchase. Because the battery life isn’t as good as stated, and the sound quality is slightly inferior to the Astro A40 I’ll give them 8.5/10.
Sound was a little quiet for me at max volume, but I am hard of hearing, but after applying a volume hack to windows it is fine which means I caan control it rather than being limited (I think it is more a windows 11 issue than the headset) but my old creative headset didn’t have this issue.
I use it for both phone VoIP and gaming so I use the headset many hours in the day, the battery is not great I find it discharges in around 5 hours of constant use, where as my old creative used in the same way would last a few days at 5 hours or so a day.
Overall a good headset though for the price, the old headset was around twice the price.
Windows 10 user, last for a good 4-5 hours if not longer. Mic auto mutes in the up position which is great! Audio quality is very good, customisability is good in terms of volume, voice relay, mic volume to others, lighting and fitment! Sit really well on your head and easy to wear for long durations.
Not sure I make too much of the 7.1 surround however as with all headphones ultimately it’s still just stereo.
A great “cheap” gaming headset imo
I ordered these from Amazon, looking around for another pair of headphone since the mic died on my other headphones which turned out to actually be a fault in the headset anyway. So I bought these been using them around a week. First problem I have is trying to get any sort of acceptable sound out of these headphones. It’s sounds “OK” out of the box and what you would expect from headphones in this sort of price range. However. Tuning surround sound was tricky and not that satisfying. They just sound terrible in the highs and mids. I got a really good response though in the lows so bass was thumping.
The problem for me is not only the audio quality but also there is random often irritating “pops” or or brief muting on the audio as if the transmitter is getting interference. I don’t think it should be the case but makes listening to anything unenjoyable.
I think I might return these I am not completely happy. Software was easy to install and set up and configure though. Other than that suffered some quality issues.
Corsair’s Void Elite Wireless Headphones are great headphones for gaming and movies.
On its own, the sound is pretty good, but I advise that you download Corsair iCUE to take full advantage of these headphones. When paired with iCUE you have access to 5 preset equalizer settings with the ability to create additional EQ settings that you can set up however you like.
If you have the extra cash I would also recommend instilling Dolby Access, which applies Dolby Atmos to the headphones.
Build quality feels sturdy and they are light enough to be worn for hours at a time with no pressure on the head or ears.
Battery life does last around 16 – 17 hours however make sure the lighting settings are turned off or the battery drains significantly faster.
The RGB is pretty much pointless
(its on the side of your head, so you can’t actually see it in use)
I also found that by switching it off, the battery life pretty much doubled.
sound quality is fantastic,
microphone is clear (from what i’ve been told from people listening to me)
cushioned ear pads are nice and soft, (i wear glasses and other headsets have given pain where they rub against the arms of the glasses, but these have been fine for 4+ hours of constant usage)
overall, i’m very happy with them.
only tip i would advise, is turn off the RGB and enjoy much longer wireless usage! 🙂
Good sound, although my microphone volume is low.
Can’t seem to get the firmware to update and seems to be a heap of online issues with the same thing. Icue is fairly awful.
Don’t fit great, not snug on the ears.
But it’s still great value for money considering it’s wifi and works.
Unlike it’s predecessors, this headset has a much nicer build quality to it and feels strong and sturdy.
The ear-cups are comfortable and fully submerge the ears inside the headset, leaving it usable for hours without any aches or pain on the ears. the wireless range is fantastic if your doing something in the room next door and listening to music, or watching a film and want to relax on the sofa without keeping others awake.
I will be honest in saying that I do think that the USB style connection is a little out-dated, but this is a reasonable sacrifice for the product you receive.
The audio leaves more to be desired when you are using the built-in iCue equalisers but if you create custom ones and use peoples settings provided on the corsair forums, you can get a fantastic audio experience – you just have to put that little bit of work in. Alternatively, these are Dolby Atmos compatible and can be used with the Dolby atoms spatial feature on windows and pairs up with the Atmos app provided on the Microsoft app store for a phenomenal cinematic sound experience.
Overall, very good headset and very happy with the performance.
Though it may not apply, the old versions of the corsair voids had issues with battery quality diminishing within months – But I expect the battery performance of these will be far more better. I will update my review in time with feedback on the battery, though right now it’s holding a good 10 hours with no need for charging.
I got this headset with the intention of finally going full wireless with regards to my peripherals, and this headset is a great addition to my setup!
The sound quality out of the box is alright however I recommend messing around with the EQ silders on The “iCUE” application required when using this headset so as to fully utilise the headset when listening to music. This brings me to my other point, pressing the volume knob allows you to go through all your EQ presets so you can have specific EQ settings for different situations; I love it since I personally have been using the FPS EQ preset provided by Corsair. Going back however, I mentioned there being a volume knob, it’s self explanatory, just a knob on the left earphone which you can rotate up or down controlling the volume. In my experience I usually have it at around 35-50% as the headset can get super loud and may be even damaging to your ears.
The gameplay experience is something we must talk about before continuing. For general gameplay and competitive games I cannot recommend this headset enough. Being able to have a custom EQ preset in order to hear footsteps and the like easier is so helpful that I almost feel like I’m cheating. The only type of game that this headset cannot be paired with is rhythm games. I feel too much latency when trying to do anything on the beat: I noticed this on the game “Osu!”. I am not simply blaming this headset for my poor timing as I personally have no problem tapping on beat. However, after using this headset for the first time on “Osu!” I found myself having to change the song offset to around +5 or +15ms as the latency was too noticeable. It’s a simple fix on “Osu!”. However playing a game like “Beat Saber” where song offset isn’t a feature of the game really begins to aggravate me as I find myself completely screwing up songs I was previously able to do.
This isn’t just a pair of headphones though, you also have a mic to use which even has a setting to where you can hear yourself in real time! The mic quality is what you’d expect from a headset, it’s very clear but it does sound like you’re talking through an early 2000s brick phone. The mic has two ways of muting and unmuting, the first one through a button on the left side and the second one through lifting the mic up. Using the second method (although satisfying to do) is also somewhat risky as I have experienced it dropping down before leading to the mic unmuting. If you have your setting enabled, you’ll have a tone play whenever it mutes and unmutes so it’s not hard to figure out if your mic is muted or not.
Lets go into how the headset feels on the head. Frankly, it is too loose a fit. You cannot have these headphones on while playing VR as it will fall off your head. With this, I cannot recommend this headset if you are thinking on using it for VR. I hope they fix this issue if Corsair decide to make a revised version of this headset as it may be a deal breaker for some: having less wires to worry about when playing VR is so advantageous!
With all this in mind, this is a great wireless headset with a lot of very useful features! The audio quality coming out of the drivers are great. The mic is not too different to any other headset mic and even has pretty good noise cancelling since other headsets have the problem of being able to pickup what’s coming out of the headphones. Although not great for rhythm games, you can find ways around this. Lastly, the fit of the headset just isn’t good enough for VR where wireless can really be handy! If you’re looking into going wireless, this is a good headset but please do take everything into consideration! The last thing we want is to have to get another pair!
I bought a SteelSeries headset for Zoom and Teams on the advice of my Gamer son. I liked it and the wireless system works well – even though it uses USB-C and I had to buy an adapter.
What’s that got to do with the Corsair? Well, when lockdown 3 started and schools went online, my 12 year old daughter needed a headset, so I gave her that SS set.
This meant that I was back on a search for another set – and I thought ‘do I buy another SS set or buy what my son uses – a Corsair Gaming set?’ I researched, read up and looked around and came to the same conclusion that my son had – that these are very good value for money.
For music I only use Bose as they suit my music choices, fit very well and sound superb. Yes they’re expensive but they are, for me, the best.
When reading about these Corsairs, I saw posts that the fit isn’t great and the sound is not always what is expected. Now my online headphone requirements are modest; I’m no gamer but I am a songwriter and collaborate with my music partner regularly.
These fit me nicely, the sound is great and I love the Mic which when you flip it up, turns the mic off. The American voice that states ‘Mic on / Mic off’ is annoying and perhaps you can turn it off – the software ‘iCue’ is easy to use and can control a host of other Corsair gadgets.
My main gripe is the size of the USB Dongle – it’s the same size as an old thumb drive and could be damaged fairly easily. Unlike the SS version which is a lot smaller (but I accept that brings other issues).
For the price I paid; this set is comfortable, very configurable (the lights on the sides of the headphone cup can be altered to your own taste like a lot of Corsair products), the mic flips up out of the way (and is turned off when in that position) and the overall sound of the set is very pleasing.
You can adjust the sound to a variety of settings and although I’ve not played with that much, it does make a noticeable difference if you like that sort of thing and could enhance games.
I’m very pleased with them and would recommend them.
Very good headset, the lighting (both colour and brightness) is fully controllable with free iCUE software and can sync to any other corsair RGB things you have. It sounds pretty damn good, battery could be longer but its definitely long enough, the convience of being able just to walk from my computer to wherever and back without having to fiddle with taking it off is a lot better then you’d think.
I especially recommend this headset for people with VR headsets, as less wires is more good and the sound quality (at least compared to the quest 2’s speakers) is much better.
Absolutely fantastic headset I use theses for pc and I can’t fault them I bought the razer nari gaming headset and I had to send it back as it was to complicated to set up and there was echoing all the time on party chat these where easy to setup and great sound only annoyance is when you mute the mic there is a voice that comes through the headset telling you it’s muted I don’t know if this can be turned of but I can live with i
I’m no audiophile but the 7.1 sounds tinny as hell. Stereo is fine so just using that for now.
Battery life for me is about 5 hours from full, with only a static colour on RGB. Adequate, but for long gaming sessions I end up using it as a wired device for a few hours at a time.
They’re comfy, they don’t make your ears melt, but the massive flaw in these headphones is that it’s one size fits all…. No option to adjust to a smaller head. If I nod, or move my head (slightly agressively) they fall off.
Work perfectly on PC with MS Teams, clear sound, good fit around ears to block out any background noises. The easiest setup I for any wireless PC device… just plug in the USB dongle and turn them on. If I lean right forward there is a bit of movement, but they stay on my head and tbh I wouldn’t want them to fit any tighter as they are perfectly comfortable just how they are. I read some other reviews that complained about this but honestly don’t see a problem. If you’re expecting headphones to stay put when you’re leaping around doing a fitness class then you’ll probably be better off with a proper sports headset.
Wife is extremely happy with them! The sound is great, the mic is fantastic although the background noise suppression could be better, and the controls are great. The reason for 4 instead of 5 is because the software used to customize them isn’t great. For example if you change the LED lights to say green, when you next use them it doesn’t save to the headset, it has to boot the software, sync it and hope it reapplies; most of the time it doesn’t even save settings and you need to redo them on the software. Frustrating but minor.
Would be 5 stars however, sometimes there is a static buzz noise that comes from the headset sometimes and it is REALLY annoying. It might just be the corsair software but it is a really annoying thing that happens. Apart from that it is a nice headset and has great sound quality. Worth the price.
Been using this for about a month now, here’s pros and cons:
Pro- sound quality and looks are great
Pro- comfortable, not too hot
Con- quite big, if you tilt your head forward it will slide off
Con- MIC IS VERY QUIET! Apparently this is a common problem for these and I had to download a third party app to boost the MIC (there’s YouTube tutorials for this)
Overall would still recommend for the price and sound/recording quality but corsair needs to sort out the default settings
For the price, the sound quality lives up to Corsair standards:
At the time of shopping, I didn’t know what headphones to go for and my budget was limited. I wanted good sound quality for music and gaming – good bass and treble which this headphone really stands out on. I also wanted a headphone that was wireless because I had enough of accidently standing up and pulling the wires in my previous headphones. Wireless is superior as wired headphones tend to break sound quality quite easily if the wire is damaged. This headphone works perfectly wireless and gives you more mobility if you are moving around the room.
For gaming, this is perfect as it is adaptable to 360 surround sound. Navigating sounds from games is more clearer. It also has a stereo option if you want to listen to prefer music that way. Noise cancellation is pretty good as I could not hear my own doorbell several times which is very good.
Like all Corsair products, this one also uses ICue to change the RGB settings and more, which is great for matching it with your gaming setup and allows you to personalise it.
The only issue I came across was when I put on my glasses and headphones, sometimes it can clamp up on your glasses and make it uncomfortable. This can be fixed by adjusting the headphone to your preference but it will be different for different head shapes.
Overall, this is the best headphone I have purchased so far and it met all my criteria when shopping for one.
I bought these simply because my Astro A50 headset stopped working and I wanted a 7.1 headset to use while I sorted the other.
This is super honest review and having had, going from, what I think is the best gaming headset you can have (Astro A50), to this, below is how I feel it competes but also why it is worth the money.
Comfort
It is comfortable, however, like the other reviews have suggested, this is not well fitted at all. The headset is far too wide in the smallest position, and i would suggest that you DO NOT buy this for anyone under 16, as the headset will be huge on them. I am 34 and I had to cut up a spare memory foam pillow and cable tie it to make this properly fitting. That’s said, if it is Okish, but otherwise is was sitting on the top of my ears, which was a little uncomfortable. My small ‘mod’ made a world of difference and allowed me to enjoy the headset for why it was built in the first place.
It is adjustable, but the smallest size simply isn’t small enough, I’m surprised they didn’t consider this given a lot of keen gamers are of younger age. Again, if my 15 year old self out this on, it would be far too big for comfort or proper use. In the photo I have put my astro Vs the corsair and you can clearly see there will be a difference in the ‘hug’ you get from it. The astro is honestly perfect, the corsair is poor.
Sound
The 7.1 is very good, I used Nhamec instead to the corsair software and comparing to the Astro A50 (3x the price) it is close, but isn’t quite rounded enough. Voice Comms is very good, bass is great but treble is a little high, but I think if I haven’t had the astro, I would be seriously impressed by the sound. That also depends on if it fits well too.
Design
It love it, it reminds me of s Ferrari, the mic folds up to mute in a tidy manner and the size of the ears buds is more than accomodating. The USB leads supplied are clearly of a high standard and once I had added my additional layer of memory foam it is seriously comfortable.
Battery life and wireless
I haven’t tested it to the full extent, however, with the RGB off and using sound and mic, it has lasted a good 9 hour gaming session. So pretty good, I think you can get a good 12 hours without charging. The connection is very good and I haven’t had issues so far. The wireless is amazing, I can walk downstairs and fox a drink without losing connection.
Overall, for the price a great sounding headset, but the fit really let’s this down. For some adults it will be great, but for anyone with a smaller head, I just think the padding really is an issue, which is a massive shame because the sound is excellent. Other aspects are great and when comparing a headset 3x the price, the sound it very good, fit is bad, but battery life and connectivity is good. Should you buy this, yes, but depending on how big your head it and if you have a spare pillow.
This is a good headset for starting out. The sound quality is good for the WiFi frequency is not fantastic meaning that you get interference from other devices if you move away from your computer (shouldn’t really make a difference for gaming but I started using this for work and while being stuck on a call for 90minutes I like to sneak away and make a bru). All in all a good headset, perfect gift to get a teenager, especially while we are in lockdown.
I have a slightly larger than average head size for a man at 58cm and I found this headset to be a little too large still.
That made it slip around easily and the cups sat a bit too low on my ears despite the band being as retracted as it could be so please bear that in mind if you have a smaller head.
Sound quality is decent for the price and compared with alternatives though a bit bassy for my tastes. The iCue software works well with it, but it doesn’t offer as much sound control as some alternative providers, though overall the iCue software is really good if you have several Corsair devices as I have.
Connection at 2.4Ghz wireless is clear with no perceivable microphone lag, but the range (if that’s important) is probably only 10-12 feet before it loses connection. In comparison, the Corsair Virtuoso’s allow me to wander downstairs from my upstairs office when on a skype call, make a coffee and head back up without losing connection. With these I can’t even get to the door before they lose connection.
One thing very much positive is the cooling. I never found any heating of my ears, or sweating with these unlike many other types of headset. The look is an acquired taste. They do look very ‘gamer’ and as I also do like to use my headset for work related skype and zoom video conferences, rather than just gaming, I’d look a bit silly. Battery life is ok, not excellent, and yes they have RGB and are available in black or white.
With these points in mind, they are worth considering at the 90-100 price point.
I needed a comfortable headset with a good microphone for playing games, doing calls and general usage like watching videos and music. The headset is good for all those things.
I have mine connected to my MacBook Pro 2018 which works great. While it does work out of the box without any additional installation, you’ll need to install Corsair iCUE to tweak the sound and light settings. Which you must do to access some of it’s most important features.
I would 100% recommend that you download iCUE because the default sound settings are not great at all (iCUE is available for the Windows and MacOS). The headphones lack strong bass by default and give a bad first impression of the headset, but you may feel differently. I tweaked the equaliser and got between “ok” to “good” sound output, but these headphones are definitely not for audiophiles.
Despite being called 7.1 surround sound headphones there are only two physical audio drivers so this is entirely a software effect. In fact with the software effect enabled, which you can switch on inside iCUE, to me it just adds a lot of echo and makes the sound more spatial but not in a manner that I enjoy. I don’t have this enabled, stereo is just fine.
I don’t have any other Corsair LED iCUE enabled hardware so can’t speak to that integration.
I was disappointed to hear that I couldn’t connect this to my Xbox One X, but this is because Microsoft blocks USB based headphones and isn’t the fault of this product. If you want headphones for your Xbox One X, consider getting Bluetooth headphones or cable based ones which plug into the back of the controller.
As a headset for conference calls it does the job well, no complaints so far. It has a handy feature where if you lift the microphone away from your face that it mutes your audio, this is great rather than having to fish around on the screen for a mute button.
Overall a good product with some over exaggerated marketing around it’s 7.1 capability, would recommend but only really to people who want LED lights on their headphones and want to buy into the Corsair eco-system.
My girlfriend bought me this for my birthday last year as I always wanted a wireless headset for gaming. She surprised me with this I have to say I was just as surprised to receive it.
It has a really nice design, doesn’t feel cheap and the rotatable cups were a nice touch. It’s got some nice foam/cushion in the headband which sits nicely on your head.
The things I wasn’t too fussed on where it’s battery life and user interface. There’s no way of telling how low your headset is unless you look open up the Corsair software and view it there, the battery seems to last 3-4 straight hours of gaming which is ok but if okay for 7+ a day I wouldn’t recommend a wireless headset to begin with. The last gripe I have with it is the fact that you can’t connect it to anything like a normal headset, you NEED the USB that comes with it to work or connect. So if you wanted to use them for comfort listening to music on your phone….not happening.
Overall The bones of the product are good for what you get, it is wireless, sounds good, feels good to wear. But for the meat of the product, the shirt battery life, annoying software and incompatibility with other devices lets it down.
Pros:
1) Great sound quality, like – very nice, after a small issue I’ll describe in cons.
2) Mic is good and my online buddies say I’m nice and clear on voice chat.
Cons
1) This B**** WILL NOT STAY ON MY HEAD. I don’t have a small head either, it’s just built too damn wide and it slips all over the place. I’ll use these whilst I’m a bit cash poor, but this will probably be the shortest use of a peripheral I’ve ever had.
2) The built-in default ‘sound EQ preset’ (pure direct – the one with everything at 0db, no high freq’s or bass freq’s boosted) makes everything sound like you’re listening to everything through a thick sheet of plastic or bubble wrap. Its the weirdest thing. If you tweak it to boost the highs and lows but leave the mids where they are then you get a lot more clarity back in your audio, which is weird because these are a really nice set of cans with great speakers in them, so why they didn’t fix the default profile that comes out of them is very odd. But a little bit of tweaking removes this con – just don’t forget to do it. (I’ve attached the pic of what I “fixed” the EQ preset with. Use if you like. Or don’t, I don’t care.)
Meh
iCUE support is there. but what’s the point of a having some RGB on your ears when.. you.. cant.. see it.
TL;DR. Great set of cans if you can get them on a strong discount. If you think your God’s gift to gaming, these should fit your big head just fine. Or use Duct tape.
This headset is absolutely amazing, especially if you get it at a discount, I got mine for 79.99. If you are thinking about buying this then I hope I save you some money by saying, WAIT FOR A PRICE DROP! Don’t pay anymore than 90 for this headset as discounts happen very regularly.
Ok, now I’ll tell you my use case for this product as it’s very different than most other people buying this, I’m a video editor so I need to have neutral and accurate sound. This headset can do that! Even when I walk to the living room the headset quality is great and hasn’t changed in gain or eq.
Another great feature of this headset is the application it comes with that was weirdly hard to find, I’m guessing that’s a search engine fault though, and not corsairs. It comes with eq adjust (witch you have to do if you want to get neutral sound) and its very easy to change.
The headset is also very comfortable and adjustable enough for almost any person, but that’s where the pros end and the cons start.
The software, thought nice looking, is hard to navigate and change (apart from eq settings) lighting is a hassle to get right without knowing the exact rgb channels your looking for and the light on the mic is unchangeable, always staying red. When I first picked up the product it felt plasticy, and that’s because it is. It is good quality plastic, but still plastic (That is apart from the moving parts , they’re metal and very good to the hand).
Battery life isn’t impressive either, at about 8hrs (obviously you can get more if you turn the lighting effects off or dim them slightly)
And now the most annoying thing, though useful, is the assistant, or voice. What this is, is whenever you turn your mic on or off, turn surround sound on or anything like that this voice says “mic on”, “mic off” or “surround on” It’s built into the headset and not the software, so obs, or recording software’s won’t pick it up, but still. I think it’s unnecessary and annoying. A little beep would have been enough or at least being able to turn it off would be amazing!
So, overall I would recommend this product to pretty much anyone who isn’t travelling, as the wireless adaptor is really big and is annoying to carry, It’s comfortable and the eq settings will make even some audiophiles happy. If this headset lost some small inconveniences and the software was better it would be perfect and i would happily pay 150 for the headset. And yes if your a parent reading this and thinking “this is way too much money, why does my son/daughter want this?” I would tell you to do your research and maybe find something cheaper. But if you want something that will last the test of time this headset is pretty cheap for what you get (if you get it under 90). So, just buy this headset if you price rage is from 80 – 120 and your not thinking about travelling with it…
9/10
EDIT: Left earpiece stopped working after less than a fortnight, they delivered a replacement really quickly but I won’t rate it 5 because of it…
These are my first wireless headphones and by some way my most expensive (there are many others that cost a lot more), but I must say these are probably my best. They look and feel well made, the packaging is good, the sound is good, and they feel comfortable even after several hours. They work straight out of the box, you need only charge them up first. I would recommend downloading the app/drivers as this brings up features that you can customize to your own taste, some of which extend the battery life. I get about 8 hours without the need for customizing.
There are some well thought out features in these headphones, like when you pull down the microphone they switch themselves on and a voice tells you that the microphone is on, and obviously the reverse when you push the mic up. You can set an automatic shutdown time when they are not detecting any sound, by default this is set at five mins.
Some people have reported that when they put their head down they feel like the headphones are going to fall off. This is partially true but I think that some of it is down to the design which has shifted the center of gravity forwards so you need to put them further back on your head than you might be used to.
It is hard to find fault with these headphones but if I was being picky I would have to say that they are probably going to be too big for children to wear. But as I was buying them for myself (adult male) this is not an issue so I am giving them the full five stars.
I have been using this for over 6 months now and it has proved to be a really good purchase.
Sound quality : Really good, I use the headphones a lot to listen to music and I’ve never heard any distortion, the low and high frequencies are apparent, I can’t moan really
Comfort : I need to wear glasses so large headphones can cause me discomfort in a short time, however I can wear these headphones for hours while wearing my glasses without fear for them being damaged, Perfect! If I had a niggle it would be that if I rock back in my chair the headphones can move, due to the weight I think, but i guess that is the price for having long life batteries in them
Microphone : Difficult to comment here as I haven’t really used them in anger, what I have noticed though is that the quality largely depends on the applications you use, e.g. using Discord gives you good consistent quality, Battle net will turn you into a Darlek if you raise your voice.
Battery Life : Good, Batteries last a long time (5 hours I think) but not as long as the box says they will. The other thing is that it takes an age to fully charge them, and recommends that once charged the cable should be disconnected promptly afterwards (probably to preserve the overall life of the battery). However the charge indicator light is effectively underneath the headphones if you use the stand which makes it awkward to check and to be realistic you are likely to charge them over night which could mean overcharging them for several hours if you’re like me. Make sure you have a USB-3 charger/hub to charge these with as it will dramatically reduce the charge time. Trust me, a standard USB charger will take 24+ hours to charge them up. I nearly sent them back when I first got them because it took 3 days to initially top them up. However, on the plus side, you can use them while they are charging and the cable is unobtrusive and long
Niggles : Because the headphones are bluetooth, you have to go through the Windows system settings to change the default audio output device. This is really annoying and on older OS’s has a tenancy to be either buried or inaccessible. It would be really useful if Corsair built a menu option in there quick access app to allow changing of the default Audio output, otherwise download “Audio Switch” which isn’t perfect but helps a lot
Pros:
* Great sound quality
* Great comfort (even with glasses)
* Great battery life
* Microphone is convenient, (quality depends on software used)
Cons:
* Battery charging time, Invest in a USB-3 charger/hub (seriously)
* Can slide of your head if you tilt your head
* Switching between speakers and headphone use though windows
I have never purchased an Expensive pair of headphones before, i think the most i have spent is probably around 25/30 , but i thought i would go for it and did some research and these came up. I have never purchased a corsair product before either, and i must say, i am incredibly impressed. I have never used a wireless headset either, but i’m not sure i’ll be ever to go back to being wired every again. I will list each of the features below and my experience. I game on a PC, so i have no experience with using these on console.
Packaging: Really nice looking box, well packaged. Everything was nicely wrapped up. However there was a slight scuff on the top of the headset, but i just wiped it down. It could have been caused by me when i pulled it out the box. In the Box, was a USB Stick, A charging cable, and a Mic cover and obviously the headset.
The Headset itself: It sits quite strangely on your head, you kind of have to lean them forward. It fits very nicely and is adjustable so fits many heads comfortably. The Mic is quite long but is bendable so you can angle it how you like. (More on the Mic Later). It is quite heavy, but not too heavy and after a while you won’t notice it. All in all it is VERY comfortable. After hours of use you won’t even notice it on your head or around your ears. It has a volume slider on the left side, and then a power button (which you have to hold for 3ish seconds to turn on and off) and a mute button. When the mic is muted, there is a red light at the end so you can see when it is muted. A cool feature is that if you raise the mic up, it will auto mute.
The Sound: This is the meat! I am sooo Impressed with the sound with this. When you’re playing a game like battlefield the sound effects are just incredible. If an explosion happens behind you the virtual surround makes it sound like it really was behind you. I have no idea how this works, but it is incredible. I haven’t yet used this for any movies, etc. Just for gaming.
The Mic: So, this is where i justify the 4 stars… As far as i’m aware, my friends said i sound better than with my previous Headset, clearer and crisper. However, the way the mic is positions means it picks up my breath (and i am a very light breather!). The only way around this, was to raise the Mic above my nose, which while not that big of a problem, was an inconvenience.
Battery Life: I have used this so far for a total of about 6 hours, and it hasn’t yet run out of battery. So i will update on this once i have a better idea of times.
I have only owned this headset for a week. So if i encounter any major issues i will update.
I was a bit cautious about buying a wireless headset because I’ve had some pretty bad experiences with wireless devices in the past. But I’m really happy with the Corsair Void Pro.
Being able to move freely around the room whilst still being able to talk to friends or listen to music is actually the best thing about having a wireless headset. It’s awesome!
The fit is surprisingly loose no matter how you adjust the headband. When you shake your head, the headset does wiggle around. It’s not the end of the world or anything but if you’re looking for a firm fit then this probably isn’t for you unless you have a massive head.
The battery life is pretty good. It lasts about 4-5 hours and you can charge it with a USB cable without having to stop using it so essentially it turns into a wired headset.
It doesn’t look the best on your head. There are more stylish looking headsets out there, but I’m not too concerned about that. The RGB lighting is a bit of a gimmick to be honest and I noticed that having a pulsating light setting does interfere with the audio (very high frequency noise every time the light pulses) so I just have a static blue.
There are controls on the headset itself, which is a nice touch – a power button, mute button and a switch to adjust the volume.
Sound quality is pretty decent. I’m no audiophile, but music and games sound good with solid highs and mids and the bass isn’t too heavy like with a lot of gaming headsets.
The mic is fine. It automatically turns off when you raise it up to the top and turns on when you lower it down. My friend did say that the quality was worse than my previous headset, which was the Corsair Vengeance.
Overall, if you’re looking for a wireless headset then this is a great option to consider, although it is a bit pricey.
I really love this headset! My last headset was the turtle beach x12 and I literally had them for 10 years. They were starting to get abit decrepit and I really wanted to go wireless. So after looking at reviews I decided to buy the Corsair Void Pro headset. I will be honest I already have a Corsair strafe cherry mx silent keyboard so having the ability to sync up the rgb definitely influenced my decision (and it works really well!).
On to the headset! The sound quality is good, particularly for gaming as you feel the surround in a wider area than say the ps4 gold headset. I noticed a big improvement there straight away. The volume is also decent, I can keep mine around 10-15 and that is perfectly fine for me (obviously you can go much louder). The bass is not powerful though so if you are after music earphones then you will get clear sound quality but not very heavy bass. One nice touch is there is a volume rocker on the headset, it works really well and if you have Spotify open it will have a small overlay when you use the volume rocker. Meaning if you want to change your song all you need to do is use the volume rocker and change the song from the overlay. Very useful IMO!
The lighting is nice, if you have it on a stand or something it’s bright enough to show off but not bright enough to feel like you are wearing a disco ball. Also it’s corsair so the customisation is great! Anyone who wants to see can download the free software and it demonstrates what the software can do to the different peripherals. I personally have it synchronised to my keyboard shifting colours, I think it looks great! If you have the stand you can flatten the cups to be flush with the headband and front facing, I imagine that would make a nice display piece.
The headset feels as though it is built well and is very comfortable to wear. I’m not someone who games for entire days but for longer periods I have used them for I have had no discomfort whatsoever. I also like the fact you can mute/unmute the mic just by lifting it up or down. Mega useful if you are eating or drinking and you don’t want the world to hear your gross crunchy/chewy/slurpy noises! If you mute the mic manually or turn the voice feedback off (by holding mic mute button) it will tell you via a voice. It will do the same if you unmute or turn the feedback on and also if your battery is low, charging or full.
All in all I am very happy with it and it feels like a premium quality headset for the price. I have tried to be as thorough as possible in my review! My ONLY negative at the moment is there is a glitch in corsair’s software where sometimes you will turn the mic on and you can’t hear any voice feedback. To fix this just mute and unmute the feedback (by holding the mute button). It’s a little niggle but I am hoping corsair will fix it soon!
I hope my review has helped, if I see any questions not answered in my review I will try to help!
Having used a wireless headset since forever I have been contemplating a wireless for some time. My last experience of a wireless headset back in the 90s wasn’t positive with frequent noise issues, poor battery life and abysmal range.
After watching numerous youtube videos and online reviews and feedback from gaming communities I finally decided upon the Corsair void pro.
The headset is a nice snug fit, I use it on the smallest setting and it is only every so slightly loose but I only notice that when I am using it with the VR, if I am sat down playing it is fine. The microphone is clear, people on discord instantly noticed a difference and moving away from a 3.5mm mic I removed nearly all interference.
Battery life is easily around 20 hours, but I am sure this will deteriorate over the years as any rechargeable battery does. The headset has some nice features like auto mute when you life the mic up, or if you have the software installed it gives you verbal feedback such as “battery low” or “microphone muted” so is not essentially but still handy.
The only useless feature with the headset is the added RGB, but seeing as this is all the craze at the moment even though it is absolutely pointless and ridiculous on a headset, luckily it can be turn off via the software to save on the battery.
Headset feature a volume control, power off and a mute microphone (which is silly when it auto mutes when you raise the microphone). Buttons are easily located without too much thumbling around.
Sound quality is to be expected at this price point, a decent max volume, good bases nothing to shout home about but good none the less. A highly recommended headset for any PC game (I think it also work on the PS4 aswell though I dont think the volume controls work?)
I have been using these for a while now and they’re awesome. If you’re not too bothered about wireless then skip that entirely and go for wired. It’s really just a gimmick when you’re sitting still and gaming. However, overall I’m very pleased with them. A few notes for people looking to buy:
Battery life is lower than what they state but that’s the same with pretty much all battery operated products. However, the battery life is way better than my previous wireless headphones. With the lights on and at full brightness, you’re looking at less than 8 hours. Without the lights, you’ll get 12 hours+. You can charge them overnight or every other day depending on how long you use them for.
Sound quality is awesome. I haven’t experienced headphones with full surround sound before and it was actually disorienting. While watching Netflix I found myself turning around or pausing to wonder where the hell that noise came from. This is also togglable which is just fantastic. The software that comes with the headphones provides sufficient functionality but can be buggy. I’ve found this to be true with a lot of software provided by companies such as corsair, logitec, etc. The headset is also sound canceling which again was better than I’m used to. As I don’t live alone I can now game in bliss or watch movies without being disturbed.
Mic quality is normal. It’s better than the cheap headsets you can get but it’s not professional mic quality by no means. However, it’s more than adequate for the use cases of the product so it’s not a bad thing. You’ll be heard clearly and the software provides sidetone which due to the sound canceling nature of the headset is pretty much required to avoid shouting. The headset also mutes the mic when you put the mic up. That’s just fantastic. My only gripe with this is that it would be nice to keep sidetone activated while the headset mutes the mic as the sound canceling causes these conversations to sound as if I’m slightly deaf.
Packaging was really nice, and the shipping was super quick. In the box, i received the headset, the charging cable (Which was very long, thank you corsair), and the dongle dock thing which can also be used as a phone stand. Very useful used alongside logitecs arx app. The build quality of the headset is leagues above my previous headset which was similar in price and wireless. The turtle beach px3 (99). This is sturdy and has metal arms holding the cups to your head. The buttons on the headset are nice and clicky too. The mic arm though flexible is stiff enough to feel hard to break
It’s comfortable. The memory foam head cushion is surprisingly springy and comfortably holds the headset on your head. It’s fully adjustable too, I have it on the smallest because I like it tight. What I’ve found in the past with headsets is that while wearing glasses they can become very uncomfortable over long periods of time. I’ve never had the issue with this. The ear pads are big enough and comfortable too there’s enough space for your ears to sit in their natural position as squishing them would cause a lot of discomforts over long gaming sessions.
If you’re looking for a high-quality headset from a trusted brand and you don’t mind paying a little extra for the gamer gimmicks then look no further. Corsair did a fantastic job designing this product down the littlest of details. A solid headset that has made a huge difference to how I watch movies and play vidya.
I have owned this headset for about 2 weeks now…
Pros:
-Great surround sound, in CSGO it almost equates to wall hacks, you hear your enemies positions in games
-Nice RGB touch on each ear cup, looks great in photos and especially darkness
-Corsair link program that is required for this is very customisable for both lighting effects and EQ settings
-For EQ it has several preset profiles and if your’e experienced you can also create countless profiles of your own.
-MIC LED indicator is also pretty helpful because sometimes if your in a conversation on discord and you need to blow your nose or something you click the button on your left ear cup to disable mic and sometimes you forget to enable it again, but the red LED reminds you to so you don’t have to worry about forgetting
-MIC quality is really high some people in games had mistaken me for a you-tuber for good quality MIC
-The headset as a whole is light but sturdy with comfortable foam pads which creates a great wearing experience
-MIC adjustment is great but might seem scary at first as it seems you might snap it off but to my surprise it was really flexible and stayed in the positions I set it to
-The dial for volume control is very convenient as when you accidentally click on one of them ear-rape troll videos you throw your had under your left ear cup to quickly adjust the volume instead of reaching to some buttons on your keyboard or volume app with your mouse
Cons:
-Your MIC can be pretty quiet in some low quality apps without automatic MIC volume adjustment such as steam chat even if your turn your settings to max, if you use those you probably will need to install a 3rd party MIC control app to boost your intake volume extra. However most programs have this issue sorted (at least the ones I use) so I didn’t require 3rd party apps
-The “DOLBY SURROUND” is pretty useless unless you want a unrealistic, dramatic echo to everything you hear. I keep it disabled. Don’t get me wrong: just because you dot use the Dolby surround it doesn’t mean you don’t have surround at all. You still have surround.
-This headset cannot connect to Bluetooth or audio jack meaning you cant use it with your phone and that it is PC only
Overall there are a couple inconveniences but in my opinion the pros outweigh the cons. It might be different for you as it depends on how you are planning to use this headset. Good value for money
