I tried unscrewing the bell anti-clockwise to insert the tag, but it was quickly apparent that wasn’t doing anything, so came to look at the reviews. Thank you to all the reviews before this one that have better instructions than the instructions! The black plastic under the bell is where it unscrews. The bottom millimeter of this section unscrews from the top part of this section. I held the bracket with some pliers and then unscrewed and it worked. Inserted the airtag and added to my bike handlebars. The bell is a good bell and the compartment is pretty well hidden, so a positive review overall.
The product is well made, and the AirTag fits very well and is totally invisible. The actual bell sound is good and loud. I noticed that some rival products (like those that put the AirTag into the hollow fork of a bike) would be hard to remove without special tools. This one however can be removed simply by unscrewing the cover by hand. So you’re hoping that a potential thief doesn’t know that the bell contains a hidden AirTag. Just depends how sophisticated the thieves in your area turn out to be.
