Cant go wrong with this PSU. Really good value for money and semi modular is the perfect balance for saving bit of cash but still having a tidy build.

I have built many pc’s for friends etc for many years and always try to use Evga power supplies as they have never given me any issues.
I got this for 50, which for a good make 750w, 80+ bronze, semi modular psu, is a good deal imo.
The price does seem to fluctuate, but if you can get one for around 50-60, I’d buy one all day long.

been using this for a week or 2 and no problems at all!! ive seen others saying about the power cable being loose but this wasnt the case for mine. the 3 cables already connected cpu/24pin/gpu all look much better than a standard cable normally does.
im happy with my purchuse 🙂

Great product but the ease of installing depends on the case you you have also the direction the wiring comes out. Relatively wide so I had to pull the wires overhead however easy to install if you have experience if not use YouTube build guides

I ordered this with some extra money from Christmas for my son. The item arrived quickly with all the leads in the package. Really easy to install, 4 screws and a bit of plugging in and the computer started up running really well and using less power than the previous PSU.

So the PSU does its job has a decent set of cables including a strip with molex and floppy drive if your using this to power an older system, just as a little warning though if your likely to be using the GPU power adapters and are planning to do intense use case don’t use the pci-e power adapter attached to the power supply

It works great my HP 8300 microtower has not a 650 W power supply instead of 320 W. However the screws that are provided do not actually fit into the holes in the PSU, they are way to big, so I ended up having to use my own screws, a minor issue but still you would expect the screws provided with the PSU to actually fit it.

Works a treat with my new build. A bit fiddle if you don’t build pics often like me but it’s very quiet. Could hardly tell the pc was on at all.

When i first recieved the item the power cable it came with was really bad to the point whenever you move the pc in the littlest of movements would cause the cable to come loose, but i asked Amazon for a replacement and now its perfectly fine, the wire is very sturdy now, it does lack the 5 stars because i had this issue but it was most likely my luck.

Great psu just had 1 slight problem but got resolved

Was just a great power supply. Only needed to attach what was essential so saved cabling space. Is whisper quiet and compact enough to fit in a midi atx case. Zero issues…have fitted this in last 2 builds x

It’s unfortunate that PSU prices are all over the place, I even saw it 5 quid cheaper on a competitor’s website but I chose this because of immediate delivery. Aside from that.

Built quality is good. It comes with a sort of nice roughly textured finish that you’ll probably experience only once because who touches the power supply once it’s installed?

I use it in conjunction with a 3600/3070 build and it runs quietly even under full gaming load (think 1440p Ultra Cyberpunk). The wattage is more than enough but I haven’t really measured the efficiency yet because I lack the tools.

    Overall, solid product.

This is my second EVGA PSU – I got 2 PCs, 750W and 1000w. After having 2 Corsairs blown up in few months of use, and using my EVGA 1000w for nearly 2 years now, I recommend it!

Paid a bit more than I wanted to for a bronze due to stocks and prices going up but happy with the purchase.

How difficult the PSU really depends on your case. Was relatively easy to install, and with it being semi modular allows for easy cable management or attaching cables for future upgrades.

Powers everything in my set up easily.

I’ve listed in an image for everything the PSU is powering

    Works well, nice cable manageme

Brilliant little power supply, and with that extra little bit of security with the 5 year warranty. It’s quiet, easy to install and has all the cables you need. Would 100% recommend

The vga cable frustratingly is only a 6 pin and eight pin. which seems like an oversight because most people using a 650w psu will be doing so with a high end gpu that takes 2 8 pin connectors. Its a shame because i have had to go buy an adapter in order to stop using the second vga cable. so its annoying having an adapter in there as its adding cables which seems to defeat the point of having a semi modular psu. little gripe but otherwise good.

The item is a great quality item and I’m very happy with the silence when running.
Power wise I’m yet to test with a fully installed rig.

My disappointment was the item was not packaged inside a cardboard box.
For the cost of such an item one would at least expect a box with some air wrap to make sure its safe in transit.
This may have been due to an item return.
But it concerned me as an employee of Amazon.
However no damage was present that I could visually see.
4 stars when I really wanted to give the item 5

product fits well and enables much tidier cable management than my previous one. It also fully supports my ATX motherboard with appropriate pins.

However, I collected the item from an Amazon locker. It had been in the locker for a day or two and the box was soaking wet. Fortunately the product itself is in another box sealed with polythene. Otherwise the product would have been ruined!

Purchased last year (Dec 2019) for use in my new gaming PC. Had it for almost a year now and it’s still working great so doubt anything will happen to it now. Loving the black braided cables from EVGA it’s doesn’t show up too much and keeps the eyes focused on the more aesthetic components of my PC. However, as I purchased a 450W PSU there’s not much else I can do in terms of upgrades to my PC.

BUT… I can guarantee that the next PSU I buy will be both; a higher wattage & also from EVGA.

Looks and feels like a nice quality product with decent packaging.
No problem with installation and included cables are ok.
Operation is fine but fan does get a bit noisy when under load – the loudest part of my system.

Brought this for my new gaming PC. Delivery was fast, came in perfect condition. It only just fits in my 220T between the case and the HDD drive space but unscrew the HDD drive space and its easy.

Quiet unless you thrash it. Like the modular cables. It is big: I struggled to fit in a budget case; though, I was hiding the cabling. Voltages are rock solid at 400 watt loading.
    Very Good.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersI’ve built a 4k video editing computer and choose this power supply after many hours of reading blogs. At this price I think is the best value now.
The noise level is very, very low. I cannot really hear anything and the cooling fans I built in the pc house are much louder.
Installing is typically depends on the type of house you choose whether is easy or not. in my case it was a little challenging, but given the high quality cable management from EVGA and the high built quality I managed to do myself in about 30 minutes.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersI got this not only for its modular design but for its oem, this unit was built by superflower and they have great reliability. My other choice was the riotoro onyx 750w modular built by seasonic, I chose the evga based on my experience of superflower psu’s.

The cables are a little stuff so be prepared for fun cable management especially from behind the motherboard tray. The fan profile is not aggressive and seems to keep the psu cool without getting too loud, not Audible over the front intake fans.

This psu replaced a very noisy corsair cx 650 that was 6 months old that developed coil whine that became irritating under load, although it was fine I had to replace it. This is the second time I have had a corsair psu do this chirping budgie noise.

I would definitely recommend a one of these over the corsair vs or cx line

Went with Evga for the psu, reliably bronze certified and comes with all the connections you will need , the cables are sleeved but has black cables inside so no ketchup and mustard colours on show, a good length for Atx and matx cases ,great warranty please dont cheap out on the power supply Evga is a good brand and this is my go to unit for budget builds.

Not a big fan on the modular power plugs for the ATX and graphics card plugs as you have to hold two pieces together before pushing them home into their respective sockets. Very fiddly and there’s no documentation that tells you how to power your devices with more pins than are in the plugs?? but figured it out in the end. Almost silent! and runs well. Good value for the money.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersInstalled the day I received it. Got it to replace a Corsair 600w PSU, that after several power cuts, started to play up ( Fan started to spin way too fast). EVGA PSU is very quiet, fully modular with plenty of extra outputs should you need them. Cables included seem to be slightly higher quality then the ones that came with previous Corsair PSU’s. Only time will tell if it lasts. Find myself purchasing more and more EVGA brand hardware as time goes. In general, EVGA make good quality hardware, with high end components ( capacitors etc ). For the price and features, a great PSU so far.

Does the job well. Very quiet. Someone else implied that the cables were not long enough but for me they were absolutely fine! I have a fractal case where cables tuck behind the motherboard out of the way and there was enough length for them to do that and get where they needed to be in the mid sized case (not a small case at all)

The Power Supply is brilliant, it also has good safety features, a fan in my case was shorting out and the PSU instantly shut off so no further damage could happen. Even comes with a PSU tester so you can test the PSU without plugging it into the motherboard which is fantastic, no more paper clip methods or dodgy wires to force start the PSU for testing

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersI took a chance and it proved to be a good bet.
My dell XPS 8300 had died, only a green light on the Power Supply and a amber light on the Mother Board, no fans working at all.
With some trepidation I connected the new EVGA 500 B1, 80+ BRONZE 500W Power Supply while it was on the outside of the Dell casing, and after some trial and error connections’ it booted up like a good one.
With three plugs fitted to the Mother Board, and two plugs to the Graphics Card and a power plug to the ‘C’ Drive I was back in business.
I was so pleased that my Dell was back up and running again, as I feared that the Mother Board was faulty, but not so.
I can ‘Highly Recommend’ this Power Supply, as you can tell, I am very pleased!

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersThis is one of the best PSUs for the price out there. I used it in my budget gaming build, calculated the wattage i will need and it was way less than this 450W, but you want your PSU on 50-70% load to have the best efficiency. It is 80+ as advertised which is great, bronze is just the efficiency rating and i’m not bothered by it being bronze as i’m using it for a low power consuming pc. Comes with a power cable and 4 screws to install i

5.0 out of 5 stars Enough juice for a budget gaming pc !

Cheap and efficient. It is quite quiet.
This not being modular doesn’t bother me, All excess cables are shoved in the shroud and forgotten about
1 Problem though, The cables don’t bend very well.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersBought this as I was installing a new graphics card in my Lenovo H-50 desktop PC. This fits in my Mini-Tower very nicely and the fully modular design was very much needed.

All cables are included (including the external power cable) meaning you can pick and choose what you want/need to use and if like me you don’t have a full ATX tower it makes cable management that little bit easier. Some of the cables are fairly thick so my PC is now a bit crowded with my new additions however if using in a full tower this will not be an issue. Very quiet and comes with ‘Eco thermal control system’ meaning that the fan will turn itself off when the PC is not working too hard and back on again when it does.

Overall very happy to have bought a top branded fully modular PSU at a very low price.

After my old PSU kicked the bucket, I needed a quick replacement. I have now been using this supply on my every day machine for a couple moths and it is perfect. This power supply is great for my micro ATX build as now I can run much fewer wires since it is fully modular. Since adding it the fan noise has not been noticeable even on the highest load, although this could be due to other components ramping up and drowning it out so your mileage may vary. Overall I am very happy with this power supply from EVGA and would recommend it to anyone.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersI have yet to actually test the product in use over a long period of time.

Out of the box it came with a couple of tiny defects on the wire protecting sleeve but it wouldn’t warrant a complaint. Using the provided PSU testing device I check to see whether it worked and it did, the product itself is very quiet in operation and was easy to install.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersI think this is one of the great budget PSU even though i still find it little expensive as i bought it on budget. Very quite and cables are long enough.
the only thing that is worrying me is the Power cable. its very short and the plug that goes into PSU is very hard to fit in. at one stage i was scared that pushing too hard may possibly break it.

Golden Review Award: 14 From Our UsersGreat build quality and attention to detail as always from EVGA, looks great, love the textured finish, it has nice long well braided cables with good quality plugs and more than enough for most builds.
The inclusion of the tester adapter thingy, proved very useful too, as there was a gap between receiving it and actually installing the unit into my build, so saved me any stresses about whether it actually worked without the hassle of installing and connecting it to find out, which is a big plus.
Why other companies can’t have the foresight and consideration to chuck one of these testers in the box with their PSU’s is beyond me, they must only cost, less than 50p to produce.
The double ball bearing fan should last well and is completely silent, atleast to my ears, all I can hear is the sound of the moving air, with the case panel off and with it on nothing, which is fantastic.
Register serial number with EVGA and you get an excellent 5 year warranty too,
Overall a great buy, got mine when on offer for less than 60 and I’m well pleased with it.

If you can afford a modular PSU, I’d recommend buying one over this one. The cable management on the EVGA 500W B1 isn’t great, but if you have a decent case you can make it work(I use a Corsair Carbide 100R).

  45. ToryTaverner says:

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersEVGA are a pretty respectable name when it comes to computer hardware. I needed a new PSU for two reasons; 1) to replace my old crappy OEM Dell one (Yes, I’m one of those people who upgrades OEM PCs!), and 2) it had to be suitable for my new build so I can transfer it over to my new case. I did some research before buying a PSU, and this one ticked some of the boxes that people SHOULD be looking for when shopping for a PSU; an 80+ certification (it’s only Bronze, but it’s more than fine for a budget build or any mid end system without any kind of overclocking being done), quality parts, and fairly priced. Installation was simple, it slotted in just fine. This PSU is standard ATX size (140 x 150 x 86 mm), so it will fit in any ATX or mATX tower just fine. It’s super quiet, looks sleek and overall has a quality feel.

When buying a PSU, you do not want to go with low end PSU names/brands, just to save a few quid. This PSU ranks on tier three on the PSU tier list over at Tom’s hardware, which like I mentioned before, is more than fine for any mid end non SLI non OCed gaming rig, which seems to be the target audience for this PSU. 500w is more than enough for any processor + single card GPU combo, and with an 80+ certification, you can’t really go wrong. I’m currently running an RX 470 in my machine and this PSU is doing just fine with it at high load.

The only con I can think of is that it is not modular, and the cables (which there are a LOT of) are quite thick and braided, so if you haven’t much room in your case, or an area to hide all the excess cables, you may have an issue. With some smart cable management it’s really not an issue though; I have this bad boy installed in a micro atx tower with a monstrous rx 470 and multiple sata drives, and I managed fine, as can be seen from the picture. I don’t think I can even count that as a con because at this price, you can’t really expect it to be modular.

Great PSU for a great price + piece of mind.

  46. Telecom Lead says:

This power supply has all the features I could ever need. The only reason why I am putting 4 stars is because of it not being fully modular. For the price you can use this to run 2 graphic cards at one and it has an effeciency rating of B2 which by the name may seem bad, however it is better than B1 and even G1. If it is 2: it’s better than all the 1 versions. The CPU runs very silent as well. I have had 3 different power supplies and they all have a lower wattage and surprisingly this power supply runs quieter and I can never actually hear any coil whine or anything, just a small breeze. The quality of the wires are excellent as well; all of them being encased in a sleeve. You can attach multiple hardrives and graphic cards which is awesome.
