I recently purchased the Fire Guru Kiln Dried Premium Hardwood Birch Logs for my outdoor fireplace and I have to say, I am impressed with the product. The 1x 8kg / 22L bag is a good size and the logs are a decent length. What I love most about these logs is that they have a moisture content of under 20%, which means they are ready to burn and produce minimal smoke. This has made my outdoor fire pit, chiminea, and pizza oven experience much more enjoyable. The logs burn evenly and provide consistent heat, making them perfect for grilling or cooking. I also appreciate the fact that they are made of high-quality birch, which gives off a pleasant aroma while burning. Overall, I highly recommend the Fire Guru Kiln Dried Premium Hardwood Birch Logs to anyone in need of firewood for their outdoor fire pit, chiminea, pizza oven, BBQ, or outdoor fireplace. It’s not great value for the price of these against other bag of wood they arent the cheapest. 4 stars!

Lovely pieces of hard wood, the bag was full of uniformed pieces of hard wood that burnt really well. If you are looking for some “nice” wood to display in a basket next to your fire then this bag would look beautiful.

    Pros:
+ Burns well/cleanly, easily but rather fast
    + Low moisture content
+ Supposedly sourced from sustainable forests

    Cons:
    – Not so great value for a standard 8kg bag

These logs are decent. I used them for a firepit. They burn with a beautiful scent, very aromatic smoke.
They catch easily so no kindling or lighters are wasted.
They burn slowly but very hot.
There’s a good variety of wood sizes, some thinner ones and majority massive thick chunks.
So I am very pl ased I got this wood and I’d get it again.

    Beautiful scent, burns very well.

Quite big logs compared to what you usually get in such bags, they are usually found split a bit smaller at least in the ones I usually buy. There was the one odd bit which was much smaller though, obviously added to make up the weight.

They are quite pricey though compared to similar sized bags I can buy in local stores, even taking into account the lower price seen here when buying multiple bags at a time. I’m not sure what advantage these give over others apart from the size, although being well-dried birch they still burn quite fast.

These woods are great they do good heat and keep it for long up to 1 hour just one.
They came 8 pieces in bag and that was for price of 15 that is expensive although loved them wouldn’t buy again because of price

    Great but pricy

If you have a fireplace you’ve got to have hardwood as it burns longer than softwood.
This Fire Guru Kiln Dried Premium Hardwood is no exception, it burns for a long time and keeps my house warm. However, compared to supermarket hardwood it’s overpriced.

Comes as a 8kg bag with good sized pieces of wood. They are roughly 25cm in length x 5-15cm. Really easy to light. I didn’t need kindling to start the fire like I normally do. However they burn really fast in comparison to others I’ve had/got. It’s too expensive to burn all in one day. Low smoke output. Good size, but still burnt to quickly. If I had loads of them it wouldn’t have mattered too much, but they need mixing with other logs to have the woodburner stay lit. I did like how dry they were compared to other logs I’ve had. They do work out costly buying them I the smaller bags.

Ordered this for the holidays to try at my parents’ house which has a log-burning stove in the sitting room. My bag arrived with eight logs in it, all looking fully dried and mostly fairly smoothly cut with relatively few splinters (although still enough to catch the flames a little easier when put in the stove). There were a mix of different shapes, but all generally similar enough in size to make for fairly easy fire building and consistent burning. Being birch, it’s fully to be expected that there would be relatively few nodules and knots in the wood to begin with.

From the amount provided, I would expect to be able to get three or four nights’ use out of the bag’s contents if used conservatively; obviously kindling would need to be acquired separately. Overall, pretty happy with the bag, although the price seems a little higher than average; still, the wood seems of a commensurate quality.

I found these logs nice, but expensive. The whole of the 8 kilo pack I received lasted about 4 hours. That’s about 16 an hour. However, the smallest amount you can buy is relatively expensive. As I review this, you can get 3 9 kilo bags for around twice the price of one, for example.

Price aside, this was a good experience. The wood was definitely dry and burned cleanly without lots of spitting or sparks. Chopping up the bigger logs was a hassle, but most were smaller and very manageable.

I rarely burn wood at home, so apologies if this review is missing a consideration that’s important to you.

    🔥 Dry wood

These logs come in a neatly chopped size which would be ideal for even small log burners. The wood has under 20% moisture making it better for burning. It does burn really well and gives off good heat but it is a very expensive way to buy logs. We could get through 4x of these bags in a night.

Great wood, low moisture and relatively easy to split down into smaller pieces. We have a chiminea and a wood fired pizza oven so you can never have enough wood. Buying just one bag is quite expensive so if you can bulk buy you will make savings. Each log is approximately 25cm in length and 8-15cm in Diameter.

The 8kg of logs came in a heavy duty plastic bag. The birch logs are a perfect size for domestic log burners or open fires.

I have an open fire and was really pleased with the quality of these kiln dried birch logs. They burn easily but slowly, providing strong heat for a long time.

Fantastic quality wood which burns well. Low moisture and had no condensation in the bag. Good sized cut logs too which is handy to have when throwing onto the fire.

These logs are just like you get at the shops, big bag with kiln dried logs, good size and pretend even in size too, will fit a open fire or a firepit.

I’ve burned a few of these logs the last few nights. They light easily and burn well. I’ve not noticed any condensation in the bag which I have seen in other log bags from other manufacturers. Also, these are well sized to fit in my wood burner. Recommended.

    Perfectly dry and perfectly sized

Within the bag received I had 8 logs all within 25cm in length, some of these logs are large as seen in the photo and so could be split further if you have a small firebox. I tested several of the pieces and split a couple to check moisture content and all well within 20%, the highest reading being 15%, all the rest around 11% on the meter.

I tested some in the wood burner and burns nicely, and being birch burns hot, just doesn’t last as long as other hard wood such as oak or ash. At the time of reviewing the single bag is twice what I’ve recently paid in the shops for a similar bag, and makes it expensive if using as source of heating. Buying more, six bags does reduce the cost down closer to retail price.

Well under 20% moisture but cost is high if buying small quantities.

Fundimentally, this is a standard 8kg bag of kiln dried fire wood, consisting of hardwood (Birch) logs that have a wide application of usage…Wood/multi fuel stoves, pizza ovens, fire pits, chimineas, BBQs and so on.

The logs are kiln dried and meet the current environmental standards of being <20 % moisture and harvested from sustainable sources.

As an average, the bag contains approximately 9-10 logs, which is about what I would expect for the size and measure roughly just under a foot long or 25cm. This is a perfect size to place into my multi fuel stove, allowing for kindling to start the fire.

As you can see from the short video, they burn very easily/well and are very easy to light. I found that they give off a generous amount of heat and last for a fair amount of time compared to others I have tried. In addition, unlike some other brands, these give off very little smoke too.

Taking the about into account, I think that they are a very good product, albeit they are not as competitively priced as locally sourced bags. However, the price point may actually be a good reflection on the quality of this product.

My 4 star rating is short of the full 5 purely on the price point. However, in saying that, If you are prepared to pay a bit more that what you may already do, I would definitely give these logs a try and see for yourself, I don't think you will be disappointed on the whole, as they are better quality than what I usually purchase.

Also looks nice as a decor.

This is a nice big bag of chunky kiln dried logs, they’re bigger than I expected which is good as they burn for longer. I tried a couple of these in my fire pit and they burn for a decent amount of time and odn’t emit a lot of smoke which is good for gatherings of family or friends standing around to keep warm not to get smoked!

Pricey for wood but being seasoned/ kiln dried means they’re ready to use than logs you gather yourself which take drying time. Bigger bags are also aailable which work out better value.

Not the most cost effective way to buy logs, but for a small amount, delivered quickly this could have its use. The logs were certainly dried well, they has a very low moisture content and burnt with a lot of flame, before giving a good bed of embers. The 8kg bag fed our wood burner fir a day. If you wanted some very regular logs as ‘show logs’ one of these bags could be the answer.

This is a large, heavy bag of hardwood logs, cut into uniform lengths and suitable for use in your fire pit. It isn’t the weather for that at the moment, so I tried a couple in my wood burning stove. They burn well, evenly and with little smoke, much better than the logs my local farmer supplies for the purpose that also tend to have a higher moisture content. Crucially, they also burnt for longer so, whilst the bag seems to come with a bit of a hefty tag, the logs are good quality and emit heat for longer.

It is a heavy bag of good quality, pre-cut logs that are a good size for my fire pit. I look forward to using some in it when the weather is more suited to the event. Note that there are economies of scale when getting multiples and that is probably the way to go.

    Good wood, low moisture
