if you dont care about having a million apps on a tiny tiny screen that makes them useless but carw about your sleep, heart rate, HRV and other health markers this is the watch for you.
Been using Fitbit products for over a decade. Decided to dig in to my pockets and buy the latest one. Unfortunately I’ve had it less than 6 months and parts are coming off it.
Update: I contacted the customer service team and showed them what had happened. Luckily as I’m still within my warranty period they have agreed to ship a replacement to me so now waiting for that which is great.
Since then I’ve come to realise this is a very common issue with the Sense 2 so am concerned the same thing will happen in another 3 months…
I wear my fitbit sense 2 everyday, at first I wasn’t happy with the product because it didn’t live up to the long battery life stated on the tin. After some research I realised I have the fitbit set to display always on. Once that was sorted it was fine.
I love that it senses changes in my body temperature and I can now link this to my mood
Fantastic battery life when compared to the Apple Watch I previously used for activity monitoring I do get the Apple product has more potential functionality but none that I either needed and battery life of a moth and a fraction of the cost. If anyone can send an email or text from an Apple Watch I’d amazed, I’ve got a phone an iPad and a PC I can do that from. I don’t need apps on my wrist you can’t see easily or use which wipe the battery in hours. I charge the Sense 2 weekly and happy to pay for the higher analytics and still better off, the watch spent more time on charge than on my wrist there ultimate reverse is true now
Really like the Versa 2 data available; heart rate, exercise, sleep, etc.
Negative – barely get 4 days before needs charging but syncing does remind you it’s low with a message on phone.
There’s so much useful info on this watch. I wear it all the time. The battery lasts longer, and sleep data has really helped me focus on better quality of sleep.
Easy to use , once you’ve had it a couple of days, battery life good , has encouraged me to be much more active as a result I’ve lost over 6 stone , would recommend to anyone who needs a bit of motivation.
Have tried various fitness tracker watches over the years and have had various models of FITBITS over the years and they have got better and better , the new sense 2 is marginally better than the original sense, I find the Fitbit app easy to use and would recommend, also have always found Fitbit are a company who are easy to deal with if you have any issues.
I have it on all the time. Amazing how it tracks your sleep, your steps and exercises. Has certainly gone a long way in helping me become a better me in many aspects.
I had an old Versa and decided to upgrade it to a Sense 2 and don’t regret that at all. The new Sense looks so much smarter with a clearer display. And the biggest bonus was the battery life between charges. I’ve had the watch for 7 days now and have only charged it once right at the beginning. Love the Sense 2.
Bought this as the Sense 1 I had always had battery issues. I tried replacing it twice, but the battery still wouldn’t last longer than 2 days. Decided to pay extra few pounds and try Sense 2. Soooo much better. This one lasts me 7 days easily. Very happy with my purchase.
Very good upgrade from previous Fitbit watches.
Personally I like the automatic exercise tracking (If you’re walking and start running it recognises this and automatically tracks the difference) and the sleep analytics.
ECG scanner is great along with blood oxygen saturation etc.
Not too big on the wrist.
No strange effects even when wearing it 24/7 as with previous devices (Rash, almost dead arm and tingling sensation).
Common fault with charger but when contacting Fitbit via live chat they immediately dispatched a replacement charger and strangely mine wouldn’t work with a Samsung plug but works perfectly with an Apple plug.
Overall I’m very happy with the purchase/upgrade. A great watch for anyone looking to track health and fitness.
Good product, battery life very good. Do seem to get slight skin problems with watch strap.
Nice looking watch, but there are some glitches I don’t enjoy- sometimes notifications stop coming through so need to restart at least once a week, sometimes more. Sleep tracking feature not accurate, if go to bed early and watch movie for 3 hours, it will show it as time asleep especially if movie is not increasing heart rate. Otherwise am very pleased with this watch, definitely an improvement from my old Inspire
Bought as a set of two ‘his and hers’ which meant a saving. Our first fitbit/smart watch type fairly easy to set up initially after a bit of help initially from a daughter, works well with the App and makes you competitive as a couple!
Bought this as a gift and husband delighted with it.
Upgraded from my versa to the sense 2 and the strap on the sense 2 is so much smaller than on the versa. But the spare strap inside which is bigger is too big, so I either have to wear it super tight on the small strap or incredibly loose on the big strap, so I’ll probably look at swapping those out. I’ve included a picture of the strap side by side with the versa so you can see what I mean.
The watch works brilliantly though as expected
Like many others mentioned, strap gave me some allergy reaction.
This never happened before in my life.
Will order new leather strap.
Sense 2 has few very good features, like sleep and stress management. However, it has space to improve on apps and some bugs that can be fixed with a new release. In general I like it, but Sense 1 has a much better cost benefit.
I am fit 55. Great for exercise, sleep and vitals analysis
This is my first “smart” watch. In all honesty my main interest was in health tracking, but I also thought it would be good to understand if I’d use the other smart features like app integration etc. I read a lot of reviews and to be fair the reviews for the Sense 2 were only so-so but for me the deciding factors were battery life, health features and price – I only paid 179 for this from Amazon during black friday, and at that price it was a bargain.
First off battery life is great – I get the best part of a week on a single charge. And if I put it on the charger it’s full again in less than half an hour. As much as I like the look of the samsung galaxy watch, having to charge your watch every day seems useless to me, especially if you travel and need to carry yet another charger to do that.
Health stats are really good. Worth noting that you need to pay for fitbit premium to get some stuff like mental health stats (anxiety etc) but to be honest these don’t seem very useful anyway.
I didn’t expect to care much about phone integration but I find it really useful to get email and message notifications on the watch, so that’s a plus. Apparently you can set up google pay but I’ve never seen the point of that. Probably it’s more important (maybe) when your phone is in a bag rather than a pocket so fishing it out is more of a pain.
I personally don’t like the silicon straps as they catch on my skin when I’m moving, so I got a soft velcro one which is great – I don’t feel it at all even when sleeping. By the way they provide large and small straps in the box, which is good too as I have pathetic wrists that don’t work well with long straps.
All in all, I’m really pleased with this purchase and I’ve gone from being someone who only wears watches on special occasions to wearing this every day and I never feel that I’m wearing it. Only caveat is that I paid significantly less than the standard 269 price and I’m not sure I’d be so convinced at that price.
I upgraded to sense 2 from a 7 year old Charge 2 and I have to say I love it. It does everything I personally need from a fitness tracker. Battery life lasts 6 days most of the time but can be less if using your gps. Some of the advanced features with the free trial of Fitbit premium drain the battery. I did have one glitch where the battery drained over night but I removed sp02 tracking and daily readiness, and it then went back to normal at 6 days. The ECG function is good and gps worked well when I tested it on a 9 mile walk. You have to physically turn on gps in the exercise settings which is fine, otherwise it drains the battery a bit. Yes it takes a minute or so to kick in and you can tell once it’s on as the little gps arrow is red whilst kicking in and white once on. Steps are accurate, as are the floor counting. I can take calls on my watch (once I linked it to sense 2 calls on Bluetooth) which is great as you never miss a call if you’ve left your phone in another room etc Obviously you can’t make calls or texts from it as it’s not linked to a phone contract, but I find it useful to be able to take the calls and the sound on it was fine. I personally love the Fitbit app, and the way the calorie tracking and targets work. It is glitchy occasionally but what app isn’t? That really doesn’t faze me as the data is on your watch and always syncs again once the app is fixed as long as you don’t reboot your watch during that time. In 7 years of using Fitbit I have only ever had a handful of issues with the app. The ability to change clock faces is good but it would be nice if there were more that showed battery life as a lot of them don’t. Overall, a good tracker but if you are a massive fitness fanatic who wants a lot more of the advance features some have like fall detection, quicker gps, ability to make calls etc then you may want to opt for another brand of Watch. For me though, the sense 2 is perfect for what I need.
Bought this watch you have to pay to get relevant information so it can end up
Expensive.
I really do like my sense 2. It does everything I need & a couple more I didn’t know it could. It’s very good at tracking my sleep which is of particular interest to me. If it had a battery that lasted more than 6/7 days I’d definitely give it 5* or even 6
I upgraded from the versa and this is great. Better battery and features
Really like this watch. Very function, looks slick & battery lasts for just over a week. Great for tracking your steps, heart rate and general exercise activities. Recommend for all users. The sleep tracking is great also. Quite durable, although I don’t wear in the shower. But otherwise serviced all requirements of a watch of this nature.
I upgraded from a charge4 as the strap kept braking and sofar this is much better. I now have google wallet so in the uk can use it for payment. becuase it has gps it records much more detail on runs and it passes that to 3rd party apps like stravia nicley. the battery is running me 7 days between charges. the only niggle has been I havent found a strap I like.
This watch lasted over 6 days not like Apple when you have to change it every day sleep tracker is very good and when you set in the app you can get all notifications
Doesn’t have Google assistance like some other smart watches so not the smart watch for you if you you want this feature which is disappointing otherwise good
Bought as Xmas gift wife loves it so much I’ve also bought one for myself too , much cheaper than an Apple Watch but .. does the same job just as well once app is downloaded.. can’t recommend enough as it’s a third of the price at the moment compared to apple
Typically getting 5 days between charges, seems to measure accurately and the App provides a useful track. The only downside, as with all Fitbits, is you need to pay a subscription for the full App function. Watch works well though, and if health tracking is your primary requirement (rather than full smartwatch functions) then Fitbit is recomended
As yet unable to take phone calls which is disappointing.Otherwise good in every respect.
Fitbit have improved this sense with a much needed button switch, it also seems to have more accurate GPS. Battery lasts well, particularly compared with some other brands that require daily charging.
The Fitbit sense 2 is a nice looking device and when I started to use it the battery lasted approx 6 days but when you start to add areas to monitor the battery life decrease to less than 12 hours. This is disappointing as the whole reason to have this device is to monitor various areas but the battery life decrease quite a bit.
I chose this mainly to track exercise, mood and wellbeing as experience a stress and anxiety. Found this very useful to help stick to a routine with my sleep and use the mindful sessions. I also used the mindfulness sessions to help with sleep. I recently had a medical procedure, which resulted in loss of sleep. Its helped me get back on track to recovery. The recent update for Google facilities makes it more worth the money even though the mental health and health benefits I recieved, far out weighed this. For some reason Ican’t set up Google pay I will look into this when I get the time. I havent used the tracking yet I’m sure I will find this useful. I bought this despite the poor reviews when it came out for the reasons above. The exercise sessions included in the premium package are great for quick sort workouts when I’m on a break at work. It’s a great asset to managing physical and mental wellbeing.
I’ve upgraded from the Sense 1 and where I enjoyed using that for all the reasons that make Fitbits great (sleep tracking, battery life, heart rate etc) it had it’s qwirks. Sense 2 takes all the positives from the 1 and fixed the niggles, whilst adding a load more fitness tracking like Stand Up Paddle boarding.
Battery Life – since unboxing, I actually didn’t charge it straight away as I wanted to use it ASAP. I wore it all day Friday and tracked my sleep overnight. I then ran a 12k trail run using the full screen brightness. This only ate 12% of battery. So a full marathon would be less than 50% battery with full features running. Since charging yesterday properly, I’d say it uses 12% battery per day including sleep, so the 6 day claim appears to be legit. I’ve seen others complain about charging, never had this, just make sure you use a decent USB charger with strong output and not some basic multi charger from a supermarket.
Running App – You can see from my pics how the fitness tracking looks whilst working out and finishing. It’s so clean and helps you with the basics. For example, I run too fast and always warns me when I am in my Peak heart rate (fine for someone my age but in time, I will have to start slowing my pace and reducing).
The Fitbit App also exports all my run data directly to Strava automatically when I finish a run.
Super comfortable – the actual changes to size are minor mm changes, but they are significant in comfort. For a large screen watch, it fits so flush to your wrist and just feels natural. The ECG sensors are now in the bezels of the glass, rather than the frame so not only does it look nicer, it’s far more comfortable to take readings.
Tidy Layout – I’ve seen reviewers talk about this and will agree. The layout is so clean and user friendly, even copying how Wear OS functions. Swipe down for settings, swipe up for notifications and messages, swipe left and right between tiles and apps. The tiles are completely customizable in the Fitbit app. I’ve got mine set up to show fitness and health data by swiping right and daily work stuff like calendar, weather and alarms to the left. So clean.
Sync with Nest Hub – I set up my Fitbit app to show my sleep and health dat on my Nest Hub 2nd Gen too, so that I can check my stats and data from there or ask voice assistant about my health data.
